We find the exotic matrix bialgebras which correspond to the two non-triangular nonsingular 4x4 R-matrices in the classification of Hietarinta, namely, R_{S0,3} and R_{S1,4}. We find two new exotic bialgebras S03 and S14 which are not deformations of the of the classical algebras of functions on GL(2) or GL(1|1). With this we finalize the classification of the matrix bialgebras which unital associative algebras generated by four elements. We also find the corresponding dual bialgebras of these new exotic bialgebras and study their representation theory in detail. We also discuss in detail a special case of R_{S1,4} in which the corresponding algebra turns out to be a special case of the two-parameter quantum group deformation GL_{p,q}(2).
We study the geometric aspects of two exotic bialgebras S03 and S14 introduced in math.QA/0206053. These bialgebras are obtained by the Faddeev-Reshetikhin-Takhtajan RTT prescription with non-triangular R-matrices which are denoted $R_{03}$ and $R_{14}$ in the classification of Hietarinta, and they are not deformations of either GL(2) or GL(1/1). We give the spectral decomposition which involves two, resp., three, projectors. These projectors are then used to provide the Baxterisation procedure with one, resp., two, parameters. Further, the projectors are used to construct the noncommutative p…
In the classification of Hietarinta, three triangular $4\times 4$ $R$-matrices lead, via the FRT formalism, to matrix bialgebras which are not deformations of the trivial one. In this paper, we find the bialgebras which are in duality with these three exotic matrix bialgebras. We note that the $L-T$ duality of FRT is not sufficient for the construction of the bialgebras in duality. We find also the quantum planes corresponding to these bialgebras both by the Wess-Zumino R-matrix method and by Manin's method.
The exotic bialgebra S03, defined by a solution of the Yang-Baxter equation, which is not a deformation of the trivial, is considered. Its FRT dual algebra $s03_F$ is studied. The Baxterisation of the dual algebra is given in two different parametrisations. The finite-dimensional representations of $s03_F$ are considered. Diagonalisations of the braid matrices are used to yield remarkable insights concerning representations of the L-algebra and to formulate the fusion of finite-dimensional representations. Possible applications are considered, in particular, an exotic eight-vertex model and an…
From the method of realization of bialgebras developped in a preceding paper, we obtain the Duality Theorem and apply it to the study of the ideal of relations for each realized bialgebra. This is detailed in the english version of the abstract of this paper.
The paper presents a detailed description of duality for braided algebras, coalgebras, bialgebras, Hopf algebras and their modules and comodules in the infinite setting. Assuming that the dual objects exist, it is shown how a given braiding induces compatible braidings for the dual objects, and how actions (resp. coactions) can be turned into coactions (resp. actions) of the dual coalgebra (resp. algebra), with an emphasis on braided bialgebras and their braided (co)module algebras.
We study the behavior of the Etingof-Kazhdan quantization functors under the natural duality operations of Lie bialgebras and Hopf algebras. In particular, we prove that these functors are "compatible with duality", i.e., they commute with the operation of duality followed by replacing the coproduct by its opposite. We then show that any quantization functor with this property also commutes with the operation of taking doubles. As an application, we show that the Etingof-Kazhdan quantization of some affine Lie superalgebras coincide with their Drinfeld-Jimbo-type quantizations.
An equivalence between Lu's bialgebroids, Xu's bialgebroids with an anchor and Takeuchi's $\times_{A}$-bialgebras is explicitly proven. A new class of examples of bialgebroids is constructed. A (formal) dual of a bialgebroid, termed bicoalgebroid, is defined. A weak Hopf algebra is shown to be an example of such a bicoalgebroid.
We prove that the action of the Grothendieck-Teichmüller group on the genus completed properad of (homotopy) Lie bialgebras commutes with the reversing directions involution of the latter. We also prove that every universal quantization of Lie bialgebras is homotopy equivalent to the one which commutes with the duality involution exchanging Lie bracket and Lie cobracket. The proofs are based on a new result in the theory of oriented graph complexes (which can be of independent interest) saying that the involution on an oriented graph complex that changes all directions on edges induces the ide…
We study the relationship between general dynamical Poisson groupoids and Lie quasi-bialgebras. For a class of Lie quasi-bialgebras naturally compatible with a reductive decomposition, we extend the description of the moduli space of classical dynamical r-matrices of Etingof and Schiffmann. We construct, in each gauge orbit, an explicit analytic representative l. We translate the notion of duality for dynamical Poisson groupoids into a duality for Lie quasi-bialgebras. It is shown that duality maps the dynamical Poisson groupoid for l and a Lie quasi-bialgebra to the dynamical Poisson groupoid…
In the classification of solutions of the Yang--Baxter equation, there are solutions that are not deformations of the trivial solution (essentially the identity). We consider the algebras defined by these solutions, and the corresponding dual algebras. We then study the representations of the latter. We are also interested in the Baxterisation of these $R$-matrices and in the corresponding quantum planes.
We introduce a new 2-parameter family of sigma models exhibiting Poisson-Lie T-duality on a quasitriangular Poisson-Lie group $G$. The models contain previously known models as well as a new 1-parameter line of models having the novel feature that the Lagrangian takes the simple form $L=E(u^{-1}u_+,u^{-1}u_-)$ where the generalised metric $E$ is constant (not dependent on the field $u$ as in previous models). We characterise these models in terms of a global conserved $G$-invariance. The models on $G=SU_2$ and its dual $G^\star$ are computed explicitly. The general theory of Poisson-Lie T-dual…
We construct an associative algebra with a decomposition into the direct sum of the underlying vector spaces of another associative algebra and its dual space such that both of them are subalgebras and the natural symmetric bilinear form is invariant or the natural antisymmetric bilinear form is a Connes cocycle. The former is called a double construction of Frobenius algebra and the latter is called a double construction of Connes cocycle which is interpreted in terms of dendriform algebras. Both of them are equivalent to a kind of bialgebras, namely, antisymmetric infinitesimal bialgebras an…
This paper explains the conjectured algebraic duality between genus zero Gromov-Witten theory and genus zero "Closed String topology". This duality in another perspective is discussed on page 87 of the book "Frobenius manifold, quantum cohomology, and moduli spaces" (by Yuri Manin). This paper also discusses Fulton MacPherson strata.
The Krein--Tannaka duality for compact groups was a generalization the Pontryagin--Van Kampen duality for locally compact abelian groups and a remote predecessor of the theory of tensor categories. It is less known that it found applications in algebraic combinatorics (``Krein algebras''). Later, this duality was substantially extended: in \cite{V}, the notion of {\it involutive algebras in positive vector duality} was introduced. In this paper, we reformulate the notions of this theory using the language of bialgebras (and Hopf algebras) and introduce the class of involutive bialgebras and po…
The "quantum duality principle" states that the quantization of a Lie bialgebra - via a quantum universal enveloping algebra (QUEA) - provides also a quantization of the dual Lie bialgebra (through its associated formal Poisson group) - via a quantum formal series Hopf algebra (QFSHA) - and, conversely, a QFSHA associated to a Lie bialgebra (via its associated formal Poisson group) yields a QUEA for the dual Lie bialgebra as well; more precisely, there exist functors QUEA --> QFSHA and QFSHA --> QUEA, inverse of each other, such that in either case the Lie bialgebra associated to the target ob…
The notion of PROP models the operations with multiple inputs and multiple outputs, acting on some algebraic structures like the bialgebras or the Lie bialgebras. We prove a Koszul duality theory for PROPs generalizing the one for associative algebras and for operads.
The notion of prop models the operations with multiple inputs and multiple outpus, acting on some algebraic structures like the bialgebras or the Lie bialgebras. In this paper, we generalize the Koszul duality theory of associative algebras and operads to props.
We compactify the spaces $K(m,n)$ introduced by Maxim Kontsevich. The initial idea was to construct an $L_\infty$ algebra governing the deformations of a (co)associative bialgebra. However, this compactification leads not to a resolution of the PROP of (co)associative bialgebras, but to a new algebraic structure we call here a CROC. It turns out that these constructions are related to the non-commutative deformations of (co)associative bialgebras. We construct an associative dg algebra conjecturally governing the non-commutative deformations of a bialgebra. Then, using the Quillen duality, we …
Quantum duality principle is applied to study classical limits of quantum algebras and groups. For a certain type of Hopf algebras the explicit procedure to construct both classical limits is presented. The canonical forms of quantized Lie-bialgebras are proved to be two-parametric varieties with two classical limits called dual. When considered from the point of view of quantized symmetries such varieties can have boundaries that are noncommutative and noncocommutative. In this case the quantum duality and dual limits still exist while instead of Lie bialgebra one has a pair of tangent vector…
The limiting transitions between different types of quantizations are studied by the deformation theory methods. We prove that for the first order coboundary deformation (g,g*_1 + x g*_2) of a Lie bialgebra (g,g*) one can always get the quantized Lie bialgebra (g,g*_2) as a limit of the sequence of quantizations of the type A(g,g*_1). The obtained results are illustrated by some low-dimensional examples of quantized Lie algebras and superalgebras.
We give functorial recipes to get, out of any Hopf algebra over a field, two pairs of Hopf algebras which have some geometrical content. When the ground field has characteristic zero, the first pair is made by a function algebra over a connected Poisson group and a universal enveloping algebra over a Lie bialgebra. In addition, the Poisson group as a variety is an affine space, and the Lie bialgebra as a Lie algebra is graded. Forgetting these last details, the second pair is of the same type. When the Hopf algebra H we start from is already of geometric type the result involves Poisson dualit…
Regular and higher regular graded algebras (in simplest case satisfying Von Neumann regularity $Θ_{1}Θ_{2}Θ_{1}=Θ_{1}$ instead of anticommutativity) are introduced and their properties are studied. They are described in terms of obstructed categories with nonclosed invertible and noninvertible morphisms for which generalized (obstructed) functors and natural transformations are given. Regular algebras and bialgebras are considered with examples. Corresponding regularizations of the cross product and Wick algebras are made.
We give a detailed comparison between the notion of a weak Hopf algebra (also called a quantum groupoid by Nikshych and Vainerman), and that of a $\times_R$-bialgebra due to Takeuchi (and also called a bialgebroid or quantum (semi)groupoid by Lu and Xu). A weak bialgebra is the same thing as a $\times_R$-bialgebra in which $R$ is Frobenius-separable. We extend the comparison to cover module and comodule theory, duality, and the question when a bialgebroid should be called a Hopf algebroid.
We give proofs of the PBW and duality theorems for the quantum Kac-Moody algebras and quantum current algebras, relying on Lie bialgebra duality. We also show that the classical limit of the quantum current algebras associated with an untwisted affine Cartan matrix is the enveloping algebra of a quotient of the corresponding toroidal algebra; this quotient is trivial in all cases except the $A_1^{(1)}$ case.
Let R be a 1-dimensional integral domain, let h (non-zero) be a prime element, and let \HA be the category of torsionless Hopf algebras over R. We call H in \HA a "quantized function algebra" (=QFA), resp. "quantized restricted universal enveloping algebras" (=QrUEA), at h if H/hH is the function algebra of a connected Poisson group, resp. the (restricted, if R/hR has positive characteristic) universal enveloping algebra of a (restricted) Lie bialgebra. An "inner" Galois correspondence on \HA is established via the definition of two endofunctors, ( )^\vee and ( )', of \HA such that: (a) the im…
Let R be an integral domain, let a non-zero h in R be such that k := R/hR is a field, and let HA be the category of torsionless (or flat) Hopf algebras over R. We call H in HA a "quantized function algebra" (=QFA), resp. "quantized restricted universal enveloping algebras" (=QrUEA), at h if - roughly speaking - H/hH is the function algebra of a connected Poisson group, resp. the (restricted, if R/hR has positive characteristic) universal enveloping algebra of a (restricted) Lie bialgebra. Extending a result of Drinfeld, we establish an "inner" Galois' correspondence on HA, via two endofunctors…

Lie algebra contractions on the classical Drinfel'd Double of a given Lie bialgebra are introduced and compared to the usual Lie bialgebra contraction theory. The connection between both approaches turns out to be intimately linked to duality problems. The non-relativistic (Galilean) limit of a (1+1) Poincaré Double is used to illustrate the contraction process. Finally, it is shown that, in a certain sense, the classical limit in a quantum algebra can be thought as a certain contraction on the corresponding Double.
Let $Z$ be a principal circle bundle over a base manifold $M$ equipped with an integral closed $3$-form $H$ called the flux. Let $\widehat{Z}$ be the T-dual circle bundle over $M$ with flux $\widehat{H}$. Han and Mathai recently constructed the $\mathbb{Z}_2$-graded space of exotic differential forms $\mathcal{A}^{\bar{k}}(\widehat{Z})$. It has an additional $\mathbb{Z}$-grading such that the degree zero component coincides with the space of invariant twisted differential forms $Ω^{\bar{k}}(\widehat{Z}, \widehat{H})^{\widehat{\mathbb{T}}}$, and it admits a differential that extends the twisted…
The "quantum duality principle" states that a quantisation of a Lie bialgebra provides also a quantisation of the dual formal Poisson group and, conversely, a quantisation of a formal Poisson group yields a quantisation of the dual Lie bialgebra as well. We extend this to a much more general result: namely, given any principal ideal domain R, for each prime h in R we establish sort of an "inner" Galois' correspondence on the category HA of torsionless Hopf algebras over R, via the definition of two functors (from HA to itself) such that the image of the first, resp. of the second, is the full …
For the quantized universal enveloping algebra U_h(g_X) associated with a continuous Kac-Moody algebra g_X as in [A. Appel, F. Sala, "Quantization of continuum Kac-Moody algebras", Pure Appl. Math. Q. 16 (2020), no. 3, 439-493], we prove that a suitable formulation of the Quantum Duality Principle holds true, both in a "formal" version - i.e., applying to the original definition of U_h(g_X) as a formal QUEA over the algebra of formal series in h - and in a "polynomial" one - i.e., for a suitable polynomial form of U_h(g_X) over the algebra of Laurent polynomials in q. In both cases, the QDP st…
We study the deformation theory of morphisms of properads and props thereby extending to a non-linear framework Quillen's deformation theory for commutative rings. The associated chain complex is endowed with a Lie algebra up to homotopy structure. Its Maurer-Cartan elements correspond to deformed structures, which allows us to give a geometric interpretation of these results. To do so, we endow the category of prop(erad)s with a model category structure. We provide a complete study of models for prop(erad)s. A new effective method to make minimal models explicit, that extends Koszul duality t…
