We study the biparametric quantum deformation of GL(2) x GL(1) and exhibit its cross-product structure. We derive explictly the associated dual algebra, i.e., the quantised universal enveloping algebra employing the R-matrix procedure. This facilitates construction of a bicovariant differential calculus which is also shown to have a cross-product structure. Finally, a Jordanian analogue of the deformation is presented as a cross-product algebra.
Combined $(q,h)$-deformations proposed by Kupershmidt and Ballesteros-Herranz-Parashar are studied. In each case a transformation is shown to lead to an equivalent, standard $q$-deformation. We briefly indicate that appropriate singular limits of the same type of transformations can however lead from standard biparametric $(p,q)$-deformations to non-hybrid but biparametric nonstandard $(g,h)$ ones. Finally a case of hybrid $(q,h)$-deformation is recalled, related to the superalgebra $GL(1|1)$.
This paper suveys some recent algebraic developments in two parameter Quantum deformations and their Nonstandard (or Jordanian) counterparts. In particular, we discuss the contraction procedure and the quantum group homomorphisms associated to these deformations. The scheme is then set in the wider context of the coloured extensions of these deformations, namely, the so-called Coloured Quantum Groups.
Three classes of classical r-matrices for sl(4,C) algebra are constructed in quasi-Frobenius algebra approach. They satisfy CYBE and are spanned respectively on 8,10,12 generators. The o(4,2) reality condition can be imposed only on the eight dimensional r matrices with dimension-full deformation parameters. Contrary to the Poincare algebra case, it appears that all deformations with a mass-like deformation parameter (kappa- deformations) are described by classical r-matrices satisfying CYBE.
In this paper, the Lie group $G_{NC}^{α,β,γ}$, of which the kinematical symmetry group $G_{NC}$ of noncommutative quantum mechanics (NCQM) is a special case due to fixed nonzero $α$, $β$ and $γ$, is three-parameter deformation quantized using the method suggested by Ballesteros and Musso in "Quantum Algebras as Quantizations of Dual Poisson-Lie Groups" [J. Phys. A: Math. Theor., 46 (2013), 195203]. A certain family of QUE algebras, corresponding to $G_{NC}^{α,β,γ}$ with two of the deformation parameters approaching zero, is found to be in agreement with the existing results of the literature o…
This paper together with the previous one (arXiv:hep-th/0604146) presents the detailed description of all quantum deformations of D=4 Lorentz algebra as Hopf algebra in terms of complex and real generators. We describe here in detail two quantum deformations of the D=4 Lorentz algebra o(3,1) obtained by twisting of the standard q-deformation U_{q}(o(3,1)). For the first twisted q-deformation an Abelian twist depending on Cartan generators of o(3,1) is used. The second example of twisting provides a quantum deformation of Cremmer-Gervais type for the Lorentz algebra. For completeness we describ…
It is proved that the (volume and orientation-preserving) quantum isometry group of a spectral triple obtained by deformation by some dual unitary 2-cocycle is isomorphic with a similar twist-deformation of the quantum isometry group of the original (undeformed) spectral triple. This result generalizes similar work by Bhowmick and Goswami for Rieffel-deformed spectral triples in [Comm. Math. Phys. 285 (2009), 421-444, arXiv:0707.2648].
In this paper, we propose a new procedure to deform spectral triples and their quantum isometry groups. The deformation data are a spectral triple $(\mathcal A,\mathcal H, D)$, a compact quantum group $\mathbb G$ acting algebraically and by orientation-preserving isometries on $(\mathcal A,\mathcal H,D)$ and a unitary fiber functor $ψ$ on $\mathbb G$. The deformation procedure is a genuine generalization of the cocycle deformation of Goswami and Joardar.
We present the class of deformations of simple Euclidean superalgebra, which describe the supersymmetrization of some Lie algebraic noncommutativity of D=4 Euclidean space-time. The presented deformations are generated by the supertwists. We provide new explicit formulae for a chosen twisted D=4 Euclidean Hopf superalgebra and describe the corresponding quantum covariant deformation of chiral Euclidean superspace.
After a presentation of the context and a brief reminder of deformation quantization, we indicate how the introduction of natural topological vector space topologies on Hopf algebras associated with Poisson Lie groups, Lie bialgebras and their doubles explains their dualities and provides a comprehensive framework. Relations with deformation quantization and applications to the deformation quantization of symmetric spaces are described
We discuss quantum deformations of Jordanian type for Lie superalgebras. These deformations are described by twisting functions with support from Borel subalgebras and they are multiparameter in the general case. The total twists are presented in explicit form for the Lie superalgebras sl(m|n) and osp(1|2n). We show also that the classical $r$-matrix for a light-cone deformation of D=4 super-Poincare algebra is of Jordanian type and a corresponding twist is given in explicit form.
We present a large class of supersymmetric classical r-matrices, describing the supertwist deformations of Poincare and Euclidean superalgebras. We consider in detail new family of four supertwists of N=1 Poincare superalgebra and provide as well their Euclidean counterpart. The proposed supertwists are better adjusted to the description of deformed D=4 Euclidean supersymmetries with independent left-chiral and right-chiral supercharges. They lead to new quantum superspaces, obtained by the superextension of twist deformations of spacetime providing Lie-algebraic noncommutativity of space-time…
The link between 3D spaces with (in general, non-constant) curvature and quantum deformations is presented. It is shown how the non-standard deformation of a sl(2) Poisson coalgebra generates a family of integrable Hamiltonians that represent geodesic motions on 3D manifolds with a non-constant curvature that turns out to be a function of the deformation parameter z. A different Hamiltonian defined on the same deformed coalgebra is also shown to generate a maximally superintegrable geodesic motion on 3D Riemannian and (2+1)D relativistic spaces whose sectional curvatures are all constant and e…
We show how some classical r-matrices for the D=4 Poincare algebra can be supersymmetrized by an addition of part depending on odd supercharges. These r-matrices for D=4 super-Poincare algebra can be presented as a sum of the so-called subordinated r-matrices of super-Abelian and super-Jordanian type. Corresponding twists describing quantum deformations are obtained in an explicit form. These twists are the super-extensions of twists obtained in the paper arXiv:0712.3962.
We discussed quantum deformations of D=4 Lorentz and Poincare algebras. In the case of Poincare algebra it is shown that almost all classical r-matrices of S. Zakrzewski classification correspond to twisted deformations of Abelian and Jordanian types. A part of twists corresponding to the r-matrices of Zakrzewski classification are given in explicit form.

We study junctions of Wilson lines in refined SU(N) Chern-Simons theory and their local relations. We focus on junctions of Wilson lines in antisymmetric and symmetric powers of the fundamental representation and propose a set of local relations which realize one-parameter deformations of quantum groups $\dot{U}_{q}(\mathfrak{sl}_{m})$ and $\dot{U}_{q}(\mathfrak{sl}_{n|m})$.
Some introductory concepts and basic definitions of the Lie superalgebras and their quantum deformations are exposed. Especially the induced representation methods in both cases are described. Based on the Kac representation theory we have succeeded in constructing representations of several higher rank superalgebras. When representations of quantum superalgebras are concerned, we have developed a method which can be applied not only to the one-parametric quantum deformations but also to the multi-parametric ones. As an intermediate step the Gel'fand-Zetlin basis description is extended to the…
We examine certain nonassociative deformations of quantum mechanics and gravity in three dimensions related to the dynamics of electrons in uniform distributions of magnetic charge. We describe a quantitative framework for nonassociative quantum mechanics in this setting, which exhibits new effects compared to ordinary quantum mechanics with sourceless magnetic fields, and the extent to which these theoretical consequences may be experimentally testable. We relate this theory to noncommutative Jordanian quantum mechanics, and show that its underlying algebra can be obtained as a contraction of…
We consider a superextension of the extended Jordanian twist, describing nonstandard quantization of anti-de-Sitter ($AdS$) superalgebra $osp(1|4)$ in the form of Hopf superalgebra. The super-Jordanian twisting function and corresponding basic coproduct formulae for the generators of $osp(1|4)$ are given in explicit form. The nonlinear transformation of the classical superalgebra basis not modifying the defining algebraic relations but simplifying coproducts and antipodes is proposed. Our physical application is to interpret the new super-Jordanian deformation of $osp(1|4)$ superalgebra as def…
The complete set of formulas describing the new quantum deformation of the OSP(1;2) supergroup is provided. A general ansatz is solved for the deformation of the Borel subalgebra of its dual quantum deformation of osp(1;2).
We construct a certain solution to the Witten--Dijkgraf--Verlinde--Verlinde equation related to the small quantum cohomology ring of flag variety, and study the t-deformation of quantum Schubert polynomials corresponding to this solution.
We discuss quantum deformation of the affine transformation algebra. It is shown that the quantum algebra has a non-cocommutative Hopf algebra structure, simple realizations and quantum tensor operators.
The two-parametric quantum superalgebra $U_{p,q}[gl(2/2)]$ and its induced representations are considered. A method for constructing all finite-dimensional irreducible representations of this quantum superalgebra is also described in detail. It turns out that finite-dimensional representations of the two-parametric $U_{p,q}[gl(2/2)]$, even at generic deformation parameters, are not simply trivial deformations from those of the classical superalgebra $gl(2/2)$, unlike the one-parametric cases.
In this article we describe the coadjoint orbits of SL(2,$\mathbb R$). After choosing polarizations for each orbits, we pointed out the corresponding quantum coadjoint orbits and therefore unitary representations of SL(2,$\mathbb R$) via deformation quantization.
We consider the quantum-group self-duality equation in the framework of the gauge theory on a deformed twistor space. Quantum deformation of the Atiyah-Drinfel'd-Hitchin-Manin and t'Hooft multi-instanton solutions are constructed.
We give a construction of Drienfeld's quantum double for a nonstandard deformation of Borel subalgebra of $sl(2)$. We construct explicitly some simple representations of this quantum algebra and from the universal R-matrix we obtain the explicit solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation in those cases.
In these notes, we introduce formal hom-associative deformations of the quantum planes and the universal enveloping algebras of the two-dimensional non-abelian Lie algebras. We then show that these deformations induce formal hom-Lie deformations of the corresponding Lie algebras constructed by using the commutator as bracket.
In order to obtain a classification of all possible quantum deformations of the two-photon algebra $h_6$, we introduce its corresponding general Lie bialgebra, which is a coboundary one. Two non-standard quantum deformations of $h_6$, together with their associated quantum universal R-matrix, are presented; each of them contains either a quantum harmonic oscillator subalgebra or a quantum gl(2) subalgebra. One-boson representations for these quantum two-photon algebras are derived and translated into Fock--Bargmann realizations. In this way, a systematic study of `deformed' states of light in …
By a transfer principle Pascal's Theorem is equivalent to a theorem about point pairs on the real line. It appears that Pascal's Theorem is equivalent to the vanishing of a common invariant of six quadratic forms. Using the q-deformed invariant theory of \cite{L} we construct corresponding quantum invariants by a computer calculation.
In this article we propose a new and so-called holomorphic deformation scheme for locally convex algebras and Hopf algebras. Essentially we regard converging power series expansion of a deformed product on a locally convex algebra, thus giving the means to actually insert complex values for the deformation parameter. Moreover we establish a topological duality theory for locally convex Hopf algebras. Examples coming from the theory of quantum groups are reconsidered within our holomorphic deformation scheme and topological duality theory. It is shown that all the standard quantum groups compri…
We introduce a discrete deformation of Rieffel type for finite (quantum) groups. Using this, we give a non-trivial example of a finite quantum group of order 18. We also give a deformation of finite groups of Lie type by using their maximal abelian subgroups.
We consider two different types of deformations for the linear group $ GL(n)$ which correspond to using of a general diagonal R-matrix. Relations between braided and quantum deformed algebras and their coactions on a quantum plane are discussed. We show that tensor-grading-preserving differential calculi can be constructed on braided groups , quantum groups and quantum planes for the case of the diagonal R-matrix.
In this work we prove, in full details, that any finite dimensional $C^*$-quantum groupoid can be deformed in order that the square of the antipode is the identity on the base. We also prove that for any $C^*$-quantum groupoid with non abelian base, there is uncountably many $C^*$-quantum groupoids with the same underlying algebra structure but which are not isomorphic to it. In fact, the $C^*$-quantum groupoids are closed in an analog of the procedure presented by D.Nikshych ([N] 3.7) in a more general situation.
We consider new class of classical r-matrices for D=3 and D=4 conformal Lie algebras. These r-matrices do satisfy the classical Yang-Baxter equation and as two-tensors belong to the tensor product of Borel subalgebra. In such a way we generalize the lowest order of known nonstandard quantum deformation of sl(2) to the Lie algebras sp(4) = so(5) and sl(4) = so(6). As an exercise we interpret nonstandard deformation of sl(2) as describing quantum D=1 conformal algebra with fundamental mass parameter. Further we describe the D=3 and D=4 conformal bialgebras with deformation parameters equal to th…
Multiparameter quantum gl(N) is not a rigid structure. This paper defines an essential deformation as one that cannot be interpreted in terms of a similarity transformation, nor as a perturbation of the parameters. All the equivalence classes of first order essential deformations are found, as well as a class of exact deformations. This work provides quantization of all the classical Lie bialgebra structures (constant r-matrices) found by Belavin and Drinfeld for sl(n). A special case, that requires the Hecke parameter to be a cubic root of unity, stands out.
We review the W_N algebra and its quantum deformation, based on free field realizations. The (quantum deformed) W_N algebra is defined through the (quantum deformed) Miura transformation, and its singular vectors realize the Jack (Macdonald) polynomials. (Talk at the Nankai-CRM joint meeting on ``Extended and Quantum Algebras and their Applications to Physics'', Tianjin, China, August 19-24, 1996.)
We describe quantum groups given by multiparametric deformations of enveloping algebras of Kac-Moody algebras as a family of pointed Hopf algebras introduced by Andruskiewitsch and Schneider associated to a generalized Cartan matrix. We show that under some assumptions, these Hopf algebras depend only on one parameter on each connected component of the Dynkin diagram, up to a cocycle deformation. In particular, we obtain in this way a known result of Hu, Pei and Rosso.
We introduce a two-parameter deformation of 2x2 matrices without imposing any condition on the matrices and give the universal R-matrix of the nonstandard quantum group which satisfies the quantum Yang-Baxter relation. Although in the standard two-parameter deformation the quantum determinant is not central, in the nonstandard case it is central. We note that the quantum group thus obtained is related to the quantum supergroup $GL_{p,q}(1|1)$ by a transformation.
We construct twisting elements for module algebras of restricted two-parameter quantum groups from factors of their R-matrices. We generalize the theory of Giaquinto and Zhang to universal deformation formulas for categories of module algebras and give examples arising from R-matrices of two-parameter quantum groups.
We show that any compact quantum group having the same fusion rules as the ones of $SO(3)$ is the quantum automorphism group of a pair $(A, φ)$, where $A$ is a finite dimensional $C^*$-algebra endowed with a homogeneous faithful state. We also study the representation category of the quantum automorphism group of $(A, φ)$ when $φ$ is not necessarily positive, generalizing some known results, and we discuss the possibility of classifying the cosemisimple (not necessarily compact) Hopf algebras whose corepresentation semi-ring is isomorphic to that of $SO(3)$.
An algebraic approach is developed to define and study infinite dimensional grassmannians. Using this approach a quantum deformation is obtained for both the ind-variety union of all finite dimensional grassmannians, and the Sato grassmannian introduced by Sato. They are both quantized as homogeneous spaces, that is together with a coaction of a quantum infinite dimensional group. At the end, an infinite dimensional version of the first theorem of invariant theory is discussed for both the infinite dimensional special linear group and its quantization.
A family of completely integrable nonlinear deformations of systems of N harmonic oscillators are constructed from the non-standard quantum deformation of the sl(2,R) algebra. Explicit expressions for all the associated integrals of motion are given, and the long-range nature of the interactions introduced by the deformation is shown to be linked to the underlying coalgebra structure. Separability and superintegrability properties of such systems are analysed, and their connection with classical angular momentum chains is used to construct a non-standard integrable deformation of the XXX hyper…
In the classification of solutions of the Yang--Baxter equation, there are solutions that are not deformations of the trivial solution (essentially the identity). We consider the algebras defined by these solutions, and the corresponding dual algebras. We then study the representations of the latter. We are also interested in the Baxterisation of these $R$-matrices and in the corresponding quantum planes.
A quantum deformation of the Virasoro algebra is defined. The Kac determinants at arbitrary levels are conjectured. We construct a bosonic realization of the quantum deformed Virasoro algebra. Singular vectors are expressed by the Macdonald symmetric functions. This is proved by constructing screening currents acting on the bosonic Fock space.
A noncommutative algebra of the complex $q$-twistors and their differentials is considered on the basis of the quantum $GL_q (4)\times SL_q (2)$ group. Real and pseudoreal $q$-twistors are discussed too. We consider the quantum-group self-duality equation in the framework of the local gauge algebra of differential forms on $q$-twistor spaces. Quantum deformations of the general multi-instanton solutions are constructed. The corresponding noncommutative algebras of moduli are introduced. The general $q$-instanton connection is a function of the $q$-twistors and the $q$-moduli .
In this paper, we obtain affine analogues of Gindikin-Karpelevich formula and Casselman-Shalika formula as sums over Kashiwara-Lusztig's canonical bases. Suggested by these formulas, we define natural $q$-deformation of arithmetical functions such as (multi-)partition function and Ramanujan $τ$-function, and prove various identities among them. In some examples, we recover classical identities by taking limits. We also consider $q$-deformation of Kostant's function and study certain $q$-polynomials whose special values are weight multiplicities.
We study quantum deformed $gl(n)$ and $igl(n)$ algebras on a quantum space discussing multi-parametric extension. We realize elements of deformed $gl(n)$ and $igl(n)$ algebras by a quantum fermionic space. We investigate a map between deformed $igl(2)$ algebras of our basis and other basis.
We present a classification of the possible quantum deformations of the supergroup $GL(1|1)$ and its Lie superalgebra $gl(1|1)$. In each case, the (super)commutation relations and the Hopf structures are explicitly computed. For each $R$ matrix, one finds two inequivalent coproducts whether one chooses an unbraided or a braided framework while the corresponding structures are isomorphic as algebras. In the braided case, one recovers the classical algebra $gl(1|1)$ for suitable limits of the deformation parameters but this is no longer true in the unbraided case.
We discuss quantum deformations of Lie algebra as described by the noncoassociative modification of its coalgebra structure. We consider for simplicity the quantum $D=1$ Galilei algebra with four generators: energy $H$, boost $B$, momentum $P$ and central generator $M$ (mass generator). We describe the nonprimitive coproducts for $H$ and $B$ and show that their noncocommutative and noncoassociative structure is determined by the two-body interaction terms. Further we consider the case of physical Galilei symmetry in three dimensions. Finally we discuss the noninteraction theorem for manifestly…
Drinfeld gave a current realization of the quantum affine algebras as a Hopf algebra with a simple comultiplication for the quantum current operators. In this paper, we will present a generalization of such a realization of quantum Hopf algebras. As a special case, we will choose the structure functions for this algebra to be elliptic functions to derive certain elliptic quantum groups as a Hopf algebra, which degenerates into quantum affine algebras if we take certain degeneration of the structure functions.
The search for elliptic quantum groups leads to a modified quantum Yang-Baxter relation and to a special class of quasi-triangular quasi Hopf algebras. This paper calculates deformations of standard quantum groups (with or without spectral parameter) in the category of quasi-Hopf algebras. An earlier investigation of the deformations of quantum groups, in the category of Hopf algebras, showed that quantum groups are generically rigid: Hopf algebra deformations exist only under some restrictions on the parameters. In particular, affine Kac-Moody algebras are more rigid than their loop algebra q…
Let M be a compact spin manifold with a smooth action of the n-torus. Connes and Landi constructed theta-deformations M_{theta} of M, parameterized by n by n real skew-symmetric matrices theta. The M_{theta}'s together with the canonical Dirac operator (D, H) on M are an isospectral deformation of M. The Dirac operator D defines a Lipschitz seminorm on C(M_{theta}), which defines a metric on the state space of C(M_{theta}). We show that when M is connected, this metric induces the weak-* topology. This means that M_{theta} is a compact quantum metric space in the sense of Rieffel.
Let $V$ be a finite dimensional vector space. Given a decomposition $V\otimes V=\oplus_i^n I_i$, define $n$ quadratic algebras $(V, J_m)$ where $J_m=\oplus_{i\neq m} I_i$. This decomposition defines also the quantum semigroup $M(V;I_1,...,I_n)$ which acts on all these quadratic algebras. With the decomposition we associate a family of associative algebras $A_k=A_k(I_1,...I_n)$, $k\geq 2$. In the classical case, when $V\otimes V$ decomposes into the symmetric and skewsymmetric tensors, $A_k$ coincides with the group algebra of the symmetric group $S_k$. Let $I_{ih}$ be deformations of the subsp…
We compute two-term skein modules of framed oriented links in oriented 3-manifolds. They contain the self-writhe and total linking number invariants of framed oriented links in a universal way. The relations in a natural presentation of the skein module are interpreted as monodromies in the space of immersions from circles to the 3-manifold.
The purpose of this Note is to unify quantum groups and star-products under a general umbrella: quantum groupoids. It is shown that a quantum groupoid naturally gives rise to a Lie bialgebroid as a classical limit. The converse question, i.e., the quantization problem, is posed. In particular, any regular triangular Lie bialgebroid is shown quantizable. For the Lie bialgebroid of a Poisson manifold, its quantization is equivalent to a star-product.
We generalize some results concerning affine algebras at the critical level to the corresponding quantum algebras. In particular, we show that the Wakimoto realization provides a homomorphism of Poisson algebras from the center of a quantum affine algebra to a Heisenberg-Poisson algebra. This homomorphism is a q-deformation of the Miura transformation. It is given by the same formulas as the spectra of transfer-matrices of the corresponding quantum integrable models. The image of the center in the Heisenberg-Poisson algebra is a Poisson subalgebra of the latter, which is a q-deformation of the…
We give the definitions of affine algebraic supervariety and affine algebraic group through the functor of points and we relate them to the other definitions present in the literature. We study in detail the algebraic supergroup $SL(m|n)$ and give explicitly the Hopf algebra structure of the algebra representing its functor of points. At the end we give also the quantization of $SL(m|n)$ together with its coactions on suitable quantum spaces according to Manin's philosophy.
We demonstrate the main idea of constructing irreducible unitary representations of Lie groups by using Fedosov deformation quantization in the concrete case of the group Aff(R) of affine transformations of the real straight line. By an exact computation of the star-product and the operator $\hat{\ell}_Z$, we show that the resulting representations exhausted all the irreducible representations of this groups.
