We have realized that our construction arises from a theta lift and therefore cannot be cuspidal. Consequently, the main results of the paper are incorrect
We explicitly compute Fourier coefficients of Eisenstein series on the special orthogonal group $G={\rm SO}(3,n+1)$ over $\mathbb{Q}$ with $n\ge 2$ which splits everywhere at finite places. We show that it has a bounded denominator.
This paper introduces the template method for computing the first coefficient of Langlands Eisenstein series on $\GL(n,\mathbb R)$ and more generally on Chevalley groups over the adele ring of $\mathbb Q.$ In brief, the first coefficient of Borel Eisenstein series can be used as a template to compute the first coefficient of more general Eisenstein series by elementary linear algebra calculations.
We calculate a $\mathrm{G}_2$-period of a Fourier coefficient of a cuspidal Eisenstein series on the split simply-connected group $\mathrm{E}_6$, and relate this period to the Ginzburg-Rallis period of cusp forms on $\mathrm{GL}_6$. This gives us a relation between the Ginzburg-Rallis period and the central value of the exterior cube L-function of $\mathrm{GL}_6$
We compute the Fourier coefficients of a minimal parabolic Eisenstein distribution on the double cover of SL$(3)$ over $\mathbb{Q}$. Two key aspects of the paper are an explicit formula for the constant term, and formulas for the Fourier coefficients at the ramified place $p=2$. Additionally, the unramified non-degenerate Fourier coefficients of this Eisenstein distribution fit into the combinatorial description provided by Brubaker-Bump-Friedberg-Hoffstein in `Weyl group multiple Dirichlet series. III. Eisenstein series and twisted unstable $A_r$'.
We derive explicit formulas for some Kloosterman sums on $Γ_0(N)$, and for the Fourier coefficients of Eisenstein series attached to arbitrary cusps, around a general Atkin-Lehner cusp.
Eisenstein series are ubiquitous in the theory of automorphic forms. The traditional proofs of the meromorphic continuation of Eisenstein series, due to Selberg and Langlands, start with cuspidal Eisenstein series as a special case, and deduce the general case from spectral theory. We present a "soft" proof which relies only on rudimentary Fredholm theory (needed only in the number field case). It is valid for Eisenstein series induced from an arbitrary automorphic form. The proof relies on the principle of meromorphic continuation. It is close in spirit to Selberg's later proofs.
In this text we generalize the classical Jacobi Eisenstein series as they were discussed by Eichler and Zagier to arbitrary lattices. We use two different methods to derive the general Fourier expansion. The last two sections give formulas in the case where the lattice is an even unimodular lattice or $L$ is of the type $NA_{1}$.
We review some topics in the analytic theory of Eisenstein series, including meromorphic continuation, $L^2$-spectral expansion and Fourier coefficients. We also discuss some open problems.
Motivated by string theory scattering amplitudes that are invariant under a discrete U-duality, we study Fourier coefficients of Eisenstein series on Kac-Moody groups. In particular, we analyse the Eisenstein series on $E_9(R)$, $E_{10}(R)$ and $E_{11}(R)$ corresponding to certain degenerate principal series at the values s=3/2 and s=5/2 that were studied in 1204.3043. We show that these Eisenstein series have very simple Fourier coefficients as expected for their role as supersymmetric contributions to the higher derivative couplings $R^4$ and $\partial^{4} R^4$ coming from 1/2-BPS and 1/4-BP…
We compute the Fourier coefficients of all degree 2 Siegel-Eisenstein series of square-free level $N$ transforming with the trivial character. We then apply use these formulae to present some explicit examples of higher representation numbers attached to non-unimodular quadratic forms.
In this paper we obtain a complete description of images and poles of degenerate Eisenstein series attached to maximal parabolic subgroups of $Sp_4(\mathbb A)$, where $\mathbb A$ is the ring of adeles of $\mathbb Q$.
I this paper we determine poles in the right--half plane and images of degenerate Eisenstein series for $GL_n(\Bbb A_\mathbb Q)$ induced from a character on a maximal parabolic subgroup. We apply those results to determine poles of degenerate Eisenstein series for $GL_n(\Bbb R)$.
Let $G$ be an infinite-dimensional representation-theoretic Kac--Moody group associated to a nonsingular symmetrizable generalized Cartan matrix. We consider Eisenstein series on $G$ induced from unramified cusp forms on finite-dimensional Levi subgroups of maximal parabolic subgroups. Under a natural condition on maximal parabolic subgroups, we prove that the cuspidal Eisenstein series are entire on the full complex plane.
We derive the Fourier expansion of scalar-valued Eisenstein series for O(2, n+2) using classical methods of Siegel, Braun, Zagier, Bruinier and others. We assume that the underlying lattice splits two hyperbolic planes. Finally we prove for the Eisenstein series at the standard cusp that they belong to the Maass space for O(2, n + 2), an analogue of the "Spezialschar" for Siegel modular forms introduced by Maass, at least at all local places p, where the localization of the underlying lattice is maximal.
Poincaré and Eisenstein series are building blocks for every type of modular forms. We define Poincaré series for Jacobi forms of lattice index and state some of their basic properties. We compute the Fourier expansions of Poincaré and Eisenstein series and give an explicit formula for the Fourier coefficients of the trivial Eisenstein series. For even weight and fixed index, finite linear combinations of Fourier coefficients of non-trivial Eisenstein series are equal to finite linear combinations of Fourier coefficients of the trivial one.
In this paper we prove a number of theorems that determine the extent to which the signs of the Hecke eigenvalues of an Eisenstein newform determine the newform. We address this problem broadly and provide theorems of both individual and statistical nature. Many of these results are Eisenstein series analogues of well-known theorems for cusp forms. For instance, we determine how often the p-th Fourier coefficients of an Eisenstein newform begin with a fixed sequence of signs \varepsilon_p = {\pm 1, 0}. Moreover, we prove the following variant of the strong multiplicity-one theorem: an Eisenste…
We give a general identity relating Eisenstein series on general linear groups. We do it by constructing an Eisenstein series, attached to a maximal parabolic subgroup and a pair of representations, one cuspidal and the other a character, and express it in terms of a degenerate Eisenstein series. In the local fields analogue, we prove the convergence in a half plane of the local integrals, and their meromorphic continuation. In addition, we find that the unramified calculation gives the Godement-Jacquet zeta function. This realizes and generalizes the construction proposed by Ginzburg and Soud…
We investigate the relation between Klingen's decomposition of the space of Siegel modular forms and Dulinski's analogous decomposition of the space of Jacobi forms.
We set up a general framework to compute the exact multiplicity with which certain automorphic representations appear in both the cuspidal and Eisenstein cohomology of locally symmetric spaces. We apply this machinery to Eisenstein series on $GSp_4$ and split $G_2$. In the case of $G_2$, we will also obtain new information about the archimedean components of certain CAP representations using Arthur's conjectures.
We have shown in a preceeding paper how to normalize intertwining operators for classical groups using the twisted endoscopy lifting. In this paper, we prove that the image of such an operator in the cases interesting in the theory of Eisenstein Series, is either 0 or an irreducible representation. As a consequence we compute explicitly the points where Eisenstein Series for square integrable representations are not holomorphic under some hypothesis at the archimedean places: at that places we mainly assume that the infinitesimal character is integral and regular.
In this paper, we prove the entirety of loop group Eisenstein series induced from cusp forms on the underlying finite dimensional group, by demonstrating their absolute convergence on the full complex plane. This is quite in contrast to the finite-dimensional setting, where such series only converge absolutely in a right half plane (and have poles elsewhere coming from $L$-functions in their constant terms). Our result is the $\Q$-analog of a theorem of A. Braverman and D. Kazhdan from the function field setting, who previously showed the analogous Eisenstein series are finite sums.
We determine the unipotent orbits attached to degenerate Eisenstein series on general linear groups. This confirms a conjecture of David Ginzburg. This also shows that any unipotent orbit of general linear groups does occur as the unipotent orbit attached to a specific automorphic representation. The key ingredient is a root-theoretic result. To prove it, we introduce the notion of the descending decomposition, which expresses every Weyl group element as a product of simple reflections in a certain way. It is suitable for induction and allows us to translate the question into a combinatorial s…
In our earlier paper, based on a paper by Bump and Ginzburg, we used an Eisenstein series on the double cover of GL(r) to obtain an integral representation of the twisted symmetric square L-function of GL(r). Using that, we showed that the (incomplete) twisted symmetric square L-function of GL(r) is holomorphic for Re(s) > 1. In this paper, we will determine the possible poles of this Eisenstein series more precisely and show that the (incomplete) twisted symmetric square L-function is entire except possible simple poles at s = 0 and s = 1.
In this paper we investigate a result of Ueno on the modularity of generating series associated to the zeta functions of binary Hermitian forms previously studied by Elstrodt et al. We improve his result by showing that the generating series are Eisenstein series. As a consequence we obtain an explicit formula for the special values of zeta functions associated with binary Hermitian forms.
In this paper we give a classification of the asymptotic expansion of the $q$-expansion of reciprocals of Eisenstein series $E_k$ of weight $k$ for the modular group $\func{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z})$. For $k \geq 12$ even, this extends results of Hardy and Ramanujan, and Berndt, Bialek and Yee, utilizing the Circle Method on the one hand, and results of Petersson, and Bringmann and Kane, developing a theory of meromorphic Poincar{é} series on the other. We follow a uniform approach, based on the zeros of the Eisenstein series with the largest imaginary part. These special zeros provide information on …
We define Eisenstein series on rank 2 hyperbolic Kac--Moody groups over R, induced from quasi--characters. We prove convergence of the constant term and hence the almost everywhere convergence of the Eisenstein series. We define and calculate the degenerate Fourier coefficients. We also consider Eisenstein series induced from cusp forms and show that these are entire functions.
We give a formula for certain values and derivatives of Siegel series and use them to compute Fourier coefficients of derivatives of the Siegel Eisenstein series of weight g/2 and genus g. When g=4, the Fourier coefficient is approximated by a certain Fourier coefficient of the central derivative of the Siegel Eisenstein series of weight 2 and genus 3, which is related to the intersection of 3 arithmetic modular correspondences. Applications include a relation between weighted averages of representation numbers of symmetric matrices.
We compute the Fourier expansion of vector valued Eisenstein series for the Weil representation associated to an even lattice. To this end, we define certain twists by Dirichlet characters of the usual Eisenstein series associated to isotropic elements in the discriminant form of the underlying lattice. These twisted functions still form a generating system for the space of Eisenstein series but have better multiplicative properties than the individual Eisenstein series. We adapt a method of Bruinier and Kuss to obtain algebraic formulas for the Fourier coefficients of the twisted Eisenstein s…
In this paper we study iterated Eisenstein τ-integrals and multiple Eisenstein L-series, they are functions on the complex upper half plane and form two Q-algebras. They reduce to iterated Eisenstein integrals and multiple Hecke L-functions with respect to Eisenstein series respectively after analytic extension when τ->0. We give the relations among them and prove the linear independence of their elements. Finally, we explain the connections among double Eisenstein L-functions and holomorphic double modular values.
We prove a formula for the coefficients of a weight $3/2$ Cohen-Eisenstein series of square-free level $N$. This formula generalizes a result of Gross and in particular, it proves a conjecture of Quattrini. Let $l$ be an odd prime number. For any elliptic curve $E$ defined over $\mathbb{Q}$ of rank zero and square-free conductor $N$, if $l \mid |E(\mathbb{Q})|$, under certain conditions on the Shafarevich-Tate group $III_D$, we show that $l$ divides $|III_D|$ if and only if $l$ divides the class number $h(-D)$ of $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{-D}).$
In this short note, we will construct a harmonic Eisenstein series of weight one, whose image under the $ξ$-operator is a weight one Eisenstein series studied by Hecke.
In this paper we consider certain classes of generalized double Eisenstein series by simple differential calculations of trigonometric functions. In particular, we give four new transformation formula for some double Eisenstein series. We can find that these double Eisenstein series are reducible to infinite series involving hyperbolic functions. Moreover, some interesting new examples are given.
Shimura studied the analytic properties of the non-holomorphic Siegel Eisenstein series and derived a residue formula. Herein, we provide a refinement of his result for several types of Eisenstein series.
We study the multiple Eisenstein series introduced by Gangl, Kaneko and Zagier. We give a proof of (restricted) finite double shuffle relations for multiple Eisenstein series by developing an explicit connection between the Fourier expansion of multiple Eisenstein series and the Goncharov coproduct on Hopf algebras of iterated integrals.
A generalization of Serre's $p$-adic Eisenstein series in the case of Siegel modular forms is studied and a coincidence between a $p$-adic Siegel Eisenstein series and a genus theta series associated with a quaternary quadratic form is proved.
We obtain an conditional result for the regularized fourth moment of some newform Eisenstein series, using a recipe by Conrey, et al. We also discuss the fourth moment of truncated newform Eisenstein series.
Cusp forms for the full modular group can be written as linear combination of double Eisenstein series introduced by Gangl, Kaneko and Zagier. We give an explicit formula for decomposing a Hecke eigenform into double Eisenstein series.
We study the double shuffle relations satisfied by the double zeta values of level 2, and introduce the double Eisenstein series of level 2 which satisfy the double shuffle relations. We connect the double Eisenstein series to modular forms of level 2.
We show that the most standard Eisenstein series such as $E_4(τ)$ or $2E_2(2τ)-E_2(τ)$, and also the function $θ^2(τ)$, are in a natural way the product of two conjugate Eisenstein series of half their weight and double their level, as well as a number of similar elementary identities for $E_6$ and Eisenstein series of levels $2$, $3$, and $4$.
It is shown that for a non-unitary twist of a Fuchsian group, which is unitary at the cusps, Eisenstein series converge in some half-plane. It is shown that invariant integral operators provide a spectral decomposition of the space of cusp forms and that Eisenstein series admit a meromorphic continuation.
The classical Kronecker limit formula gives the constant term of the non-holomorphic Eisenstein series E(z,s) for SL(2,Z) at s=1 in terms of the Dedekind eta function. Here we compute the analagous formula for an Eisenstein series twisted by modular symbols (periods of weight two holomorphic cusp forms) for general Fuchsian groups of the first kind.
We show that certain $p$-adic Eisenstein series for quaternionic modular groups of degree 2 become "real" modular forms of level $p$ in almost all cases. To prove this, we introduce a $U(p)$ type operator. We also show that there exists a $p$-adic Eisenstein series of the above type that has transcendental coefficients. Former examples of $p$-adic Eisenstein series for Siegel and Hermitian modular groups are both rational (i.e., algebraic).
We find nice representatives for the 0-dimensional cusps of the degree $n$ Siegel upper half-space under the action of $Γ_0(\stufe)$. To each of these we attach a Siegel Eisenstein series, and then we make explicit a result of Siegel, realizing any integral weight average Siegel theta series of arbitrary level $\stufe$ and Dirichlet character $χ_L$ modulo $\stufe$ as a linear combination of Siegel Eisenstein series.
We obtain an asymptotic for the regularized fourth moment of the Eisenstein series for the full modular group, in agreement with the Random Wave Conjecture.
The purpose of this work is to produce a converse theorem for adelic Eisenstein series on the double metaplectic cover of the group $SL_2(\mathbb{A})$. We show that the double Dirichlet series, which satisfy the natural functional equations required in our theorem, are in fact Mellin transforms at infinity of metaplectic Eisenstein series.
We construct a basis for the space of half-integral weight Siegel Eisenstein series of level 4N where N is odd and square-free. Then we restrict our attention to those Eisenstein series generated from elements of $Γ_0(4)$, commenting on why this restriction is necessary for our methods. We directly apply to these forms all Hecke operators attached to odd primes, and we realize the images explicitly as linear combinations of Siegel Eisenstein series. Using this information, we diagonalize the subspace of Eisenstein series generated from elements of $Γ_0(4)$, obtaining a multiplicity-one result.
Higher-order non-holomorphic Eisenstein series associated to a Fuchsian group $Γ$ are defined by twisting the series expansion for classical non-holomorphic Eisenstein series by powers of modular symbols. Their functional identities include multiplicative and additive factors, making them distinct from classical Eisenstein series. Here we prove the meromorphic continuation of these series and establish their functional equations. In addition, we construct high rank vector bundles $\cal V$ from certain unipotent representations $π$ of $Γ$ and show that higher-order non-holomorphic Eisenstein se…
We show, for levels of the form $N = p^a q^b N'$ with $N'$ squarefree, that in weights $k \geq 4$ every cusp form $f \in \mathcal{S}_k(N)$ is a linear combination of products of certain Eisenstein series of lower weight. In weight $k=2$ we show that the forms $f$ which can be obtained in this way are precisely those in the subspace generated by eigenforms $g$ with $L(g, 1) \neq 0$. As an application of such representations of modular forms we can calculate Fourier expansions of modular forms at arbitrary cusps and we give several examples of such expansions in the last section.
We study a certain class of q-analogues of multiple zeta values, which appear in the Fourier expansion of multiple Eisenstein series. Studying their algebraic structure and their derivatives we propose conjectured explicit formulas for the derivatives of double and triple Eisenstein series.
