Let $\mathbf{k}$ be a field of arbitrary characteristic, and let $Λ$ be a finite dimensional $\mathbf{k}$-algebra. In this short note we prove that if $V$ is a finitely generated strongly Gorenstein-projective left $Λ$-module whose stable endomorphism ring $\underline{\mathrm{End}}_Λ(V)$ is isomorphic to $\mathbf{k}$, then $V$ has an universal deformation ring $R(Λ,V)$ isomorphic to the ring of dual numbers $\mathbf{k}[ε]$ with $ε^2=0$. As a consequence, we obtain the following result. Assume that $Q$ is a finite connected acyclic quiver, let $\mathbf{k} Q$ be the corresponding path algebra and let $Λ= \mathbf{k} Q[ε] = \mathbf{k} Q\otimes_{\mathbf{k}} \mathbf{k}[ε]$. If $V$ is a finitely generated Gorenstein-projective left $Λ$-module with $\underline{\mathrm{End}}_Λ(V)=\mathbf{k}$, then $V$ has an universal deformation ring $R(Λ,V)$ isomorphic to $\mathbf{k}[ε]
Let k be a field and q a non-zero element of k. In Part I, we have exhibited a 6-dimensional k-algebra A = A(q) and we have shown that if q has infinite multiplicative order, then A has a 3-dimensional local module which is semi-Gorenstein-projective, but not torsionless, thus not Gorenstein-projective. This Part II is devoted to a detailed study of all the 3-dimensional local A-modules for this particular algebra A. If q has infinite multiplicative order, we will encounter a whole family of 3-dimensional local modules which are semi-Gorenstein-projective, but not torsionless.
Invariants with respect to recollements of the stable category of Gorenstein projective A-modules over an algebra A and stable equivalences are investigated. Specifically, the Gorenstein rigidity dimension is introduced. It is shown that the Gorenstein rigidity dimension is invariant with respect to both Morita equivalences and the stable equivalences of Gorenstein projective modules. As a consequence, the Gorenstein rigidity dimension is shown the invariant of derived equivalences. The Gorenstein rigidity dimension is compared along the recollements of the stable category of Gorenstein projec…
We introduce the notions of Gorenstein projective $τ$-rigid modules, Gorenstein projective support $τ$-tilting modules and Gorenstein torsion pairs and give a Gorenstein analog to Adachi-Iyama-Reiten's bijection theorem on support $τ$-tilting modules. More precisely, for an algebra $Λ$, We prove that there is a bijection between the set of Gorenstein projective support $τ$-tilting modules and the set of functorially finite Gorenstein projective torsion classes. As an application, we introduce the notion of CM-$τ$-tilting finite algebras and show that $Λ$ is CM-$τ$-tilting finite if and only if…
In the paper, we mainly connect the Gorenstein derived equivalence and stable functors of Gorenstein projective modules. Specially, we prove that a Gorenstein derived equivalence between CM-finite algebras A and B can induce a stable functor between the factor categories A-mod/A-Gproj and B-mod\B-Gproj. Furthermore, the above stable functor is an equivalence when A and B are Gorenstein.
The category ${\rm gp}(Λ)$ of Gorenstein-projective modules over tensor algebra $Λ= A\otimes_kB$ can be described as the monomorphism category ${\rm mon}(B, {\rm gp}(A))$ of $B$ over ${\rm gp}(A)$. In particular, Gorenstein-projective $Λ$-modules are monic. In this paper, we find the similar relation between semi-Gorenstein-projective $Λ$-modules and $A$-modules, via monic modules, namely, ${\rm mon}(B, \ ^\perp A) = {\rm mon}(B, A)\cap \ ^\perp Λ.$ Using this, it is proved that if $A$ is weakly Gorenstein, then $Λ$ is weakly Gorenstein if and only each semi-Gorenstein-projective $Λ$-modules a…
Let $A$ be a coherent algebra and $B$ be a finite-dimensional Gorenstein algebra over a field $k$. We describe finitely presented Gorenstein projective $A\otimes_k B$-modules in terms of their underlying onesided modules. Moreover, if the global dimension of $B$ is finite, we give a more precise description of finitely presented Gorenstein projective $A\otimes_k B$-modules.
We study totally acyclic complexes of projective modules over triangular matrix rings and then use it to classify Gorenstein projective modules over such rings. We also use this classification to obtain some information concerning Cohen-Macaulay finite and virtually Gorenstein triangular matrix artin algebras.
In the paper, we investigate the lifting of recollements with respect to Gorenstein-projective modules. Specifically, a homological ring epimorphism can induce a lifting of the recollement of the stable category of finitely generated Gorenstein-projective modules; the recollement of the bounded Gorenstein derived categories of some upper triangular matrix algebras can be lifted to the homotopy category of Gorenstein-projective modules. As a byproduct, we give a sufficient and necessary condition on the upper triangular matrix algebra T_{n}(A) to be of finite CM-type for an algebra A of finite …
For a finite free and projective EI category, we prove that Gorenstein-projective modules over its category algebra are closed under the tensor product if and only if each morphism in the given category is a monomorphism.
(Partial) Gorenstein silting modules are introduced and investigated. It is shown that for finite dimensional algebras of finite CM-type, partial Gorenstein silting modules are in bijection with τ_G-rigid modules; Gorenstein silting modules are the module-theoretic counterpart of 2-term Gorenstein silting complexes; and the relation between 2-term Gorenstein silting complexes, t-structures and torsion pairs in module categories. Furthermore, the corresponding version of the classical Brenner-Butler theorem in this setting are characterised; and the upper bound of the global dimension of endomo…
We give a construction of Gorenstein projective $τ$-tilting modules in terms of tensor products of modules. As a consequence, we give a class of non-self-injective algebras admitting non-trivial Gorenstein projective $τ$-tilting modules. Moreover, we show that a finite dimensional algebra $Λ$ over an algebraically closed field is $CM$-$τ$-tilting finite if $T_n(Λ)$ is $CM$-$τ$-tilting finite which gives a partial answer to a question on $CM$-$τ$-tilting finite algebras posed by Xie and Zhang.
It is shown that a 4-recollement of derived categories of CM-finite algebras induces a 2-recollement of the corresponding Cohen-Macaulay Auslander algebras, which generalises the main theorem of Pan [S. Y. Pan, Derived equivalences for Cohen-Macaulay Auslander algebras, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 216 (2012), 355{363]. Moreover, both Auslander- Reiten conjecture and Gorenstein projective conjecture are shown invariant under 3 (or 4)-recollement of unbounded derived categories of algebras.
An A-module M will be said to be semi-Gorenstein-projective provided that Ext^i(M,A) = 0 for all i > 0. All Gorenstein-projective modules are semi-Gorenstein-projective and only few and quite complicated examples of semi-Gorenstein-projective modules which are not Gorenstein-projective have been known. The aim of the paper is to provide conditions on A such that all semi-Gorenstein-projective modules are Gorenstein-projective (we call such an algebra left weakly Gorenstein). In particular, we show that in case there are only finitely many isomorphism classes of indecomposable left modules whic…
In this article we investigate the relations between the Gorenstein projective dimensions of $Λ$-modules and their socles for minimal n-Auslander-Gorenstein algebras $Λ$ in the sense of Iyama and Solberg \cite{IS}. First we give a description of projective-injective $Λ$-modules in terms of their socles. Then we prove that a $Λ$-module $N$ has Gorenstein projective dimension at most n iff its socle has Gorenstein projective dimension at most n iff $N$ is cogenerated by a projective $Λ$-module. Furthermore, we show that minimal n-Auslander-Gorenstein algebras can be characterised by the relation…
For a $k$-algebra $A$, a quiver $Q$, and an ideal $I$ of $kQ$ generated by monomial relations, let $Λ: = A\otimes_k kQ/I$. We introduce the monic representations of $(Q, I)$ over $A$. We give properties of the structural maps of monic representations, and prove that the category ${\rm mon}(Q, I, A)$ of the monic representations of $(Q, I)$ over $A$ is a resolving subcategory of ${\rm rep}(Q, I, A)$. We introduce the condition ${\rm(G)}$. The main result claims that a $\m$-module is Gorenstein-projective if and only if it is a monic module satisfying ${\rm(G)}$. As consequences, the monic $\m$-…
Let $A$ be an Artin algebra, $M$ be a Gorenstein projective $A$-module and $B =$ End$_A M$, then $M$ is a $A$-$B$-bimodule. We use the restricted flat dimension of $M_B$ to give a characterization of the homological dimensions of $A$ and $B$, and obtain the following main results: (1) if $A$ is a CM-finite algebra with $\cal GP$($A$) = add$_AE$ and fin.dim $A \geq 2,$ then ${\rm fin.dim}\ B \leq {\rm fin.dim}\ A + {\rm rfd}(M_B) +{\rm pd}_B{\rm Hom}_A(M, E);$ (2) If $A$ is a CM-finite $n$-Gorenstein algebra with $\cal GP$($A$) = add$_AE$ and $n \geq 2$, then gl.dim $B \leq n + {\rm pd}_B{\rm H…
We classify indecomposable non-projective Gorenstein-projective modules over a monomial algebra via the notion of perfect paths. We apply this classification to a quadratic monomial algebra and describe explicitly the stable category of its Gorenstein-projective modules.
Extriangulated categories were introduced by Nakaoka and Palu as a simultaneous generalization of exact categories and triangulated categories. A notion of proper class in an extriangulated category is defined in this paper. Let $\mathcal{C}$ be an extriangulated category and $ξ$ a proper class in $\mathcal{C}$. We prove that $\mathcal{C}$ admits a new extriangulated structure. This construction gives extriangulated categories which are neither exact categories nor triangulated categories. Moreover, we introduce and study $ξ$-Gorenstein projective objects in $\mathcal{C}$ and demonstrate that …
Given a finite dimensional algebra $A$ over a field $k$, and a finite acyclic quiver $Q$, let $Λ= A\otimes_k kQ/I$, where $kQ$ is the path algebra of $Q$ over $k$ and $I$ is a monomial ideal. We show that $(\mathcal X,\mathcal Y)$ is a (complete) hereditary cotorsion pair in $A$-mod if and only if $({\rm smon}(Q,I,\mathcal X), {\rm rep}(Q,I,\mathcal Y))$ is a (complete) hereditary cotorsion pair in $Λ$-mod. We also show that $A$ is left weakly Gorenstein if and only if so is $Λ$. Provided that $kQ/I$ is non-semisimple, the category $^{\perp}Λ$ of semi-Gorenstein-projective $Λ$-modules coincide…
Let $\mathbf{k}$ be a field of arbitrary characteristic, let $Λ$ be a finite dimensional $\mathbf{k}$-algebra, and let $V$ be an indecomposable Gorenstein-projective $Λ$-module with finite dimension over $\mathbf{k}$. It follows that $V$ has a well-defined versal deformation ring $R(Λ, V)$, which is complete local commutative Noetherian $\mathbf{k}$-algebra with residue field $\mathbf{k}$, and which is universal provided that the stable endomorphism ring of $V$ is isomorphic to $\mathbf{k}$. We prove that if $Λ$ is a monomial algebra without overlaps, then $R(Λ,V)$ is universal and isomorphic …
Let $\mathbf{k}$ be a field of arbitrary characteristic, let $Λ$ be a finite dimensional $\mathbf{k}$-algebra, and let $V$ be a finitely generated $Λ$-module. F. M. Bleher and the third author previously proved that $V$ has a well-defined versal deformation ring $R(Λ,V)$. If the stable endomorphism ring of $V$ is isomorphic to $\mathbf{k}$, they also proved under the additional assumption that $Λ$ is self-injective that $R(Λ,V)$ is universal. In this paper, we prove instead that if $Λ$ is arbitrary but $V$ is Gorenstein-projective then $R(Λ,V)$ is also universal when the stable endomorphism ri…
We prove that a certain eventually homological isomorphism between module categories induces a triangle equivalence between their singularity categories, Gorenstein defect categories and the stable categories of Gorenstein projective modules. Further, we show that Auslander-Reiten conjecture and Gorenstein symmetry conjecture can be reduced by eventually homological isomorphisms. Applying the results to arrow removal and vertex removal, we describe the Gorenstein projective modules over some non-monomial algebras, and we verify the Auslander-Reiten conjecture for certain algebras.
An artin algebra $A$ is said to be CM-finite if there are only finitely many, up to isomorphisms, indecomposable finitely generated Gorenstein-projective $A$-modules. We prove that for a Gorenstein artin algebra, it is CM-finite if and only if every its Gorenstein-projective module is a direct sum of finitely generated Gorenstein-projective modules. This is an analogue of Auslander's theorem on algebras of finite representation type (\cite{A,A1}).
We consider the equivalence from the stable module category to a subcategory $\mathcal{L}_A$ of the homotopy category constructed by Kato. This equivalence induces a correspondence between distinguished triangles in the homotopy category and perfect exact sequences in the module category. We show that an exact equivalence between categories $\mathcal{L}_A$ and $\mathcal{L}_B$ induces a stable equivalence of Morita type between two finite dimensional algebra A and B under a separability assumption. Moreover, we provide further sufficient conditions for a stable equivalence induced by an exact f…
The aim of this note is to outline the structure of the category of the Gorenstein projective modules for a Nakayama algebra. We are going to introduce the resolution quiver of such an algebra. It provides a fast algorithm in order to obtain the Gorenstein projective modules and to decide whether the algebra is a Gorenstein algebra or not, and whether it is CM-free or not.
We generalize the monomorphism category from quiver (with monomial relations) to arbitrary finite dimensional algebras by a homological definition. Given two finite dimension algebras $A$ and $B$, we use the special monomorphism category Mon(B, A-Gproj) to describe some Gorenstein projective bimodules over the tensor product of $A$ and $B$. If one of the two algebras is Gorenstein, we give a sufficient and necessary condition for Mon(B, A-Gproj) being the category of all Gorenstein projective bimodules. In addition, If both $A$ and $B$ are Gorenstein, we can describe the category of all Gorens…
In \cite{SSZ}, the authors proved that an Artin algebra $A$ with infinite global dimension has an indecomposable module with infinite projective and infinite injective dimension, giving a new characterisation of algebras with finite global dimension. We prove in this article that an Artin algebra $A$ that is not Gorenstein has an indecomposable $A$-module with infinite Gorenstein projective dimension and infinite Gorenstein injective dimension, which gives a new characterisation of algebras with finite Gorenstein dimension. We show that this gives a proper generalisation of the result in \cite…
For $Λ$ a selfinjective algebra, and $Q$ a finite quiver without oriented cycles, the algebra $ΛQ$ is a Gorenstein algebra and the category ${\rm Gproj}ΛQ$ of Gorenstein-projective $ΛQ$-modules is a Frobenius category. For a sink $v$ of $Q$, we define a functor $F(v) : \underline{\rm Gproj}ΛQ\to \underline{\rm Gproj}ΛQ(v)$ between the stable categories modulo projectives, where $Q(v)$ is obtained from $Q$ by changing the direction of each arrow ending in $v$. The functor is given by an explicit construction on the level of objects and homomorphisms. Our main result states that $F(v)$ is an equ…
We prove that any faithful Frobenius functor between abelian categories preserves the Gorenstein projective dimension of objects. Consequently, it preserves and reflects Gorenstein projective objects. We give conditions on when a Frobenius functor preserves the stable categories of Gorenstein projective objects, the singularity categories and the Gorenstein defect categories, respectively. In the appendix, we give a direct proof of the following known result: for an abelian category with enough projectives and injectives, its global Gorenstein projective dimension coincides with its global Gor…
We prove that a finite dimensional algebra $A$ with representation-finite subcategory consisting of modules that are semi-Gorenstein-projective and $n$-th syzygy modules is left weakly Gorenstein. This generalises a theorem of Ringel and Zhang who proved the result in the case $n=1$. As an application we show that monomial algebras and endomorphism rings of modules over representation-finite algebras are weakly Gorenstein. We then give a new connection between the theory of dominant dimension and Gorenstein homological algebra for gendo-symmetric algebras. As an application, we will see that t…
We give a result of Auslander-Ringel-Tachikawa type for Gorenstein-projective modules over a complete Gorenstein order. In particular, we prove that a complete Gorenstein order is of finite Cohen-Macaulay representation type if and only if every indecomposable pure-injective object in the stable category of Gorenstein-projective modules is compact.
We introduce the notion of relative singularity category with respect to any self-orthogonal subcategory $ω$ of an abelian category. We introduce the Frobenius category of $ω$-Cohen-Macaulay objects, and under some reasonable conditions, we show that the stable category of $ω$-Cohen-Macaulay objects is triangle-equivalent to the relative singularity category. As applications, we relate the stable category of (unnecessarily finitely-generated) Gorenstein-projective modules with singularity categories of rings. We prove that for a Gorenstein ring, the stable category of Gorenstein-projective mod…
Let $\mathbf{k}$ be a field of arbitrary characteristic, let $Λ$ be a finite dimensional $\mathbf{k}$-algebra, and let $V$ be an indecomposable finitely generated non-projective Gorenstein-projective left $Λ$-module whose stable endomorphism ring is isomorphic to $\mathbf{k}$. In this article, we prove that the universal deformation rings $R(Λ,V)$ and $R(Λ,Ω_ΛV)$ are isomorphic, where $Ω_ΛV$ denotes the first syzygy of $V$ as a left $Λ$-module. We also prove the following result. Assume that $Λ$ is Gorenstein and that $Γ$ is another Gorenstein $\mathbf{k}$-algebra such that there exists $\ell …
Let $R$ be a ring with identity and $\C(R)$ denote the category of complexes of $R$-modules. In this paper we study the homotopy categories arising from projective (resp. injective) complexes as well as Gorenstein projective (resp. Gorenstein injective) modules. We show that the homotopy category of projective complexes over $R$, denoted $\KPC$, is always well generated and is compactly generated provided $\KPR$ is so. Based on this result, it will be proved that the class of Gorenstein projective complexes is precovering, whenever $R$ is a commutative noetherian ring of finite Krull dimension…
Let $Λ$ be the path algebra of a finite quiver $Q$ over a finite-dimensional algebra $A$. Then $Λ$-modules are identified with representations of $Q$ over $A$. This yields the notion of monic representations of $Q$ over $A$. If $Q$ is acyclic, then the Gorenstein-projective $\m$-modules can be explicitly determined via the monic representations. As an application, $A$ is self-injective if and only if the Gorenstein-projective $\m$-modules are exactly the monic representations of $Q$ over $A$.
Let A be an artin algebra. An A-module M is semi-Gorenstein-projective provided that Ext^i(M,A) = 0 for all i > 0. If M is Gorenstein-projective, then both M and its A-dual M* are semi-Gorenstein projective. As we have shown recently, the converse is not true, thus answering a question raised by Avramov and Martsinkovsky. The aim of the present note is to analyse in detail the modules M such that both M and M* are semi-Gorenstein-projective.
Let $Λ$ be a finite-dimensional algebra over a fixed algebraically closed field $\mathbf{k}$ of arbitrary characteristic, and let $V$ be a finitely generated $Λ$-module. It follows from results previously obtained by F.M. Bleher and the third author that $V$ has a well-defined versal deformation ring $R(Λ, V)$, which is a complete local commutative Noetherian $\mathbf{k}$-algebra with residue field $\mathbf{k}$. The third author also proved that if $Λ$ is a Gorenstein $\mathbf{k}$-algebra and $V$ is a Cohen-Macaulay $Λ$-module whose stable endomorphism ring is isomorphic to $\mathbf{k}$, then …
Let $\mathcal{A}$ be an abelian category. For a pair $(\mathcal{X},\mathcal{Y}$ of classes of objects in $\mathcal{A},$ we define the weak and the $(\mathcal{X},\mathcal{Y})$-Gorenstein relative projective objects in $\mathcal{A}$. We point out that such objects generalize the usual Gorenstein projective objects and others generalizations appearing in the literature as Ding-projective, Ding-injective, $\mathcal{X}$-Gorenstein projective, Gorenstein AC-projective and $G_C$-projective modules and Cohen-Macaulay objects in abelian categories. We show that the principal results on Gorenstein proje…
Let $\mathbf{k}$ be a fixed field of arbitrary characteristic, and let $Λ$ be a finite dimensional $\mathbf{k}$-algebra. Assume that $V$ is a left $Λ$-module of finite dimension over $\mathbf{k}$. F. M. Bleher and the author previously proved that $V$ has a well-defined versal deformation ring $R(Λ,V)$ which is a local complete commutative Noetherian ring with residue field isomorphic to $\mathbf{k}$. Moreover, $R(Λ,V)$ is universal if the endomorphism ring of $V$ is isomorphic to $\mathbf{k}$. In this article we prove that if $Λ$ is a basic connected cycle Nakayama algebra without simple modu…
Let $A$ be a virtually Gorenstein algebra of finite CM-type. We establish a duality between the subcategory of compact objects in the homotopy category of Gorenstein projective left $A$-modules and the bounded Gorenstein derived category of finitely generated right $A$-modules. Let $R$ be a two-sided noetherian ring such that the subcategory of Gorenstein flat modules $R\mbox{-}\mathcal{GF}$ is closed under direct products. We show that the inclusion $K(R\mbox{-}\mathcal{GF})\to K(R\mbox{-}{\rm Mod})$ of homotopy categories admits a right adjoint. We introduce the notion of Gorenstein represen…
Let $\mathbf{k}$ be an algebraically closed field, and let $Λ$ be a finite dimensional $\mathbf{k}$-algebra. We prove that if $Λ$ is a Gorenstein algebra, then every finitely generated Cohen-Macaulay $Λ$-module $V$ whose stable endomorphism ring is isomorphic to $\mathbf{k}$ has a universal deformation ring $R(Λ,V)$, which is a complete local commutative Noetherian $\mathbf{k}$-algebra with residue field $\mathbf{k}$, and which is also stable under taking syzygies. We investigate a particular non-self-injective Gorenstein algebra $Λ_0$, which is of infinite global dimension and which has exact…
The monomorphism category $\mathcal S_n(\mathcal X)$ is introduced, where $\mathcal X$ is a full subcategory of the module category $A$-mod of Artin algebra $A$. The key result is a reciprocity of the monomorphism operator $\mathcal S_n$ and the left perpendicular operator $^\perp$: for a cotilting $A$-module $T$, there is a canonical construction of a cotilting $T_n(A)$-module ${\rm \bf m}(T)$, such that $\mathcal S_n(^\perp T) = \ ^\perp {\rm \bf m}(T)$. As applications, $\mathcal S_n(\mathcal X)$ is a resolving contravariantly finite subcategory in $T_n(A)$-mod with $\hat{\mathcal S_n(\math…
Under semi-weak and weak compatibility of bimodules, we establish sufficient and necessary conditions of Gorenstein-projective modules over rings of Morita contexts with one bimodule homomorphism zero. This generalises and extends results on triangular matrix Artin algebras and on Artin algebras of Morita contexts with two bimodule homomorphisms zero in the literature, where only sufficient conditions are given under a strong assumption of compatibility of bimodules. An application is provided to describe Gorenstein-projective modules over noncommutative tensor products arising from Morita con…
Let $A$ be a finite dimensional algebra over a field $K$ with enveloping algebra $A^e=A^{op} \otimes_K A$. We call algebras $A$ that have the property that the subcategory of Gorenstein projective modules in $mod-A$ coincide with the subcategory $\{ X \in mod-A | Ext_A^i(X,A)=0 $ for all $i \geq 1 \}$ left nearly Gorenstein. The class of left nearly Gorenstein algebras is a large class that includes for example all Gorenstein algebras and all representation-finite algebras. We prove that the Gorenstein dimension of $A$ coincides with the Gorenstein projective dimension of the regular module as…
For a finite dimensional algebra $Λ$ and a non-negative integer $n$, we characterize when the set $\tilt_nΛ$ of additive equivalence classes of tilting modules with projective dimension at most $n$ has a minimal (or equivalently, minimum) element. This generalize results of Happel-Unger. Moreover, for an $n$-Gorenstein algebra $Λ$ with $n\geq 1$, we construct a minimal element in $\tilt_{n}Λ$. As a result, we give equivalent conditions for a $k$-Gorenstein algebra to be Iwanaga-Gorenstein. Moreover, for an $1$-Gorenstein algebra $Λ$ and its factor algebra $Γ=Λ/(e)$, we show that there is a bij…
It is a well-known result of Auslander and Reiten that contravariant finiteness of the class $\mathcal{P}^{\mathrm{fin}}_\infty$ (of finitely generated modules of finite projective dimension) over an Artin algebra is a sufficient condition for validity of finitistic dimension conjectures. Motivated by the fact that finitistic dimensions of an algebra can alternatively be computed by Gorenstein projective dimension, in this work we examine the Gorenstein counterpart of Auslander--Reiten condition, namely contravariant finiteness of the class $\mathcal{GP}^{\mathrm{fin}}_\infty$ (of finitely gen…
Following the well-established terminology in commutative algebra, any (not necessarily commutative) finite-dimensional local algebra $A$ with radical $J$ will be said to be short provided $J^3 = 0$. As in the commutative case, we show: if a short local algebra $A$ has an indecomposable non-projective Gorenstein-projective module $M$, then either $A$ is self-injective (so that all modules are Gorenstein-projective) and then $|J^2| \le 1$, or else $|J^2| = |J/J^2| - 1$ and $|JM| = |J^2||M/JM|$. More generally, we focus the attention to semi-Gorenstein-projective and $\infty$-torsionfree modules…
We consider a finite acyclic quiver $\mathcal{Q}$ and a quasi-Frobenius ring $R$. We endow the category of quiver representations over $R$ with a model structure, whose homotopy category is equivalent to the stable category of Gorenstein-projective modules over the path algebra $R\mathcal{Q}$. As an application, we then characterize Gorenstein-projective $R\mathcal{Q}$-modules in terms of the corresponding quiver $R$-representations; this generalizes a result obtained by Luo-Zhang to the case of not necessarily finitely generated $R\mathcal{Q}$-modules, and partially recover results due to Eno…
For a finite free EI category, we construct an explicit module over its category algebra. If in addition the category is projective over the ground field, the constructed module is Gorenstein-projective and is a maximal Cohen-Macaulay approximation of the trivial module. We give conditions on when the trivial module is Gorenstein-projective.
