This paper studies restricted modules of gap-$p$ Virasoro algebra $Ł$ and their intrinsic connection to twisted modules of certain vertex algebras. We first establish an equivalence between the category of restricted $Ł$-modules of level $\el$ and the category of twisted modules of vertex algebra $V_{\mathcal{N}_{p}}(\el,0)$, where $\mathcal{N}_{p}$ is a new Lie algebra, $\el:=(\ell_{0},0,\cdots,0)\in\C^{\halfp+1}$,
$\ell_{0}\in\C$ is the action of the Virasoro center. Then we focus on the construction and classification of simple restricted $Ł$-modules of level $\el$. More explicitly, we give a uniform construction of simple restricted $Ł$-modules as induced modules. We present several equivalent characterizations of simple restricted $Ł$-modules, as locally nilpotent (equivalently, locally finite) modules with respect to certain positive part of $Ł$. Moreover, simple restricted $Ł$-modules of level $\el$ are classified. They are either highest weight modules or simple induced modules. At the end, we exhibit several concrete examples of simple restricted $Ł$-modules of level $\el$ (including Whittaker modules).
We describe the structure of the irreducible highest weight modules for the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro Lie algebra at level zero. We prove that such a module is either isomorphic to a Verma module or to a quotient of two Verma modules.
We show that the support of an irreducible weight module over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, which has an infinite dimensional weight space, coincides with the weight lattice and that all nontrivial weight spaces of such a module are infinite dimensional. As a corollary, we obtain that every irreducible weight module over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, having a nontrivial finite dimensional weight space, is a Harish-Chandra module (and hence is either an irreducible highest or lowest weight module or an irreducible module from the intermediate series
The work is devoted to a probably new connection between deformed Virasoro algebra and quantum $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$. We give an explicit realization of Virasoro current via vertex operators of level 1 integrable representation of $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$. The same is done for a twisted version of deformed Virasoro algebra.
In this paper, all irreducible weight modules with finite dimensional weight spaces over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra are determined. There are two different classes of them. One class is formed by simple modules of intermediate series, whose weight spaces are all 1-dimensional; the other class consists of the irreducible highest weight modules and lowest weight modules.
We define Whittaker modules for the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra and obtain analogues to several results from the classical setting, including a classification of simple Whittaker modules by central characters.
2-local derivation is a generalized derivation for a Lie algebra, which plays an important role to the study of local properties of the structure of the Lie algebra. In this paper, we prove that every 2-local derivation on the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra is a derivation.
In this paper, we classify all indecomposable Harish-Chandra modules of the intermediate series over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra. Meanwhile, some bosonic modules are also studied.
We show that subsingular vectors exist in Verma modules over W(2,2), and present a subquotient structure of these modules. We prove conditions for irreducibility of a tensor product of intermediate series module with the highest weight module. Relations to intertwining operators over vertex operator algebra associated to W(2,2) is discussed. Also, we study a tensor product of intermediate series and highest weight module over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, and present series of irreducible modules with infinite-dimensional weight spaces.
In this paper, we realize polynomial $\H$-modules $Ω(λ,α,β)$ from irreducible twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro modules $\A_{α,β}$. It follows from $\H$-modules $Ω(λ,α,β)$ and $\mathrm{Ind}(M)$ that we obtain a class of natural non-weight tensor product modules $\big(\bigotimes_{i=1}^mΩ(λ_i,α_i,β_i)\big)\otimes \mathrm{Ind}(M)$. Then we give the necessary and sufficient conditions under which these modules are irreducible and isomorphic, and also give that the irreducible modules in this class are new.
In the present paper, we construct two classes of non-weight modules $Ω(λ,α,β)\otimes\mathrm{Ind}(M)$ and $\mathcal{M}\big(V,Ω(λ,α,β)\big)$ over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, which are both associated with the modules $Ω(λ,α,β)$. We present the necessary and sufficient conditions under which modules in these two classes are irreducible and isomorphic, and also show that the irreducible modules in these two classes are new. Finally, we construct non-weight modules $\mathrm{Ind}_{\underline y,λ}(\C_{RS})$ and $\mathrm{Ind}_{\underline z,λ}(\C_{PQ})$ over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasor…
In this paper, we study irreducible weight modules with infinite dimensional weight spaces over the mirror-twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $\mathcal{D}$. More precisely, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the tensor products of irreducible highest weight modules and irreducible modules of intermediates series over $\mathcal{D}$ to be irreducible are determined by using "shifting technique". This leads to a family of new irreducible weight modules over $\mathcal{D}$. Then we obtain that any two such tensor products are isomorphic if and only if the corresponding highest weight modu…
It is shown that the support of an irreducible weight module over the Schrödinger-Virasoro Lie algebra with an infinite-dimensional weight space, coincides with the weight lattice and that all nontrivial weight spaces of such a module are infinite-dimensional. As a side-product, it is obtained that every simple weight module over the Schrödinger-Virasoro Lie algebra with a nontrivial finite-dimensional weight space, is a Harish-Chandra module.
We investigate the free fields realization of the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $\mathcal{H}$ at level zero. We completely describe the structure of the associated Fock representations. Using vertex-algebraic methods and screening operators we construct singular vectors in certain Verma modules as Schur polynomials. We completely solve the irreducibility problem for tensor product of irreducible highest weight modules with intermediate series. We also determine the fusion rules for an interesting subcategory of $\mathcal{H}$-modules. Finally, as an application we present a free field rea…
In this paper, we first obtain a general result on sufficient conditions for tensor product modules to be simple over an arbitrary Lie algebra. We classify simple modules with a nice property over the infinite-dimensional Heisenberg algebra ${\H}$, and then obtain a lot of simple modules over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $\LL$ from generalized oscillator representations of $\LL$ by extending these $\H$-modules. We give the necessary and sufficient conditions for Whittaker modules over $\LL$ (in the more general setting) to be simple. We use the "shifting technique" to determine the …
In this paper, we determine all simple restricted modules over the mirror Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra ${\mathfrak{D}}$, and the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $\bar\mathfrak{D}$ with nonzero level. As applications, we characterize simple Whittaker modules and simple highest weight modules over ${\mathfrak{D}}$. A vertex-algebraic interpretation of our result is the classification of simple weak twisted and untwisted modules over the Heisenberg-Virasoro vertex operator algebras $\mathcal V^{c} \cong V_{Vir}^{c}\otimes M(1)$. We also present a few examples of simple restricted ${\mathfrak{D…
This paper is a continuation of arXiv:1405.1707. We present certain new applications and generalizations of the free field realization of the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra ${\mathcal H}$ at level zero. We find explicit formulas for singular vectors in certain Verma modules. A free field realization of self-dual modules for ${\mathcal H}$ is presented by combining a bosonic construction of Whittaker modules from arXiv:1409.5354 with a construction of logarithmic modules for vertex algebras. As an application, we prove that there exists a non-split self-extension of irreducible self-dual m…
The Lie algebra $sl_2 ( \mathbb{C} )$ may be regarded in a natural way as a subalgebra of the infinite-dimensional Virasoro Lie algebra, and this suggests there may be connections between the representation theory of the two algebras. In this paper, we explore the restriction to $sl_2 ( \mathbb{C} )$ of certain induced modules for the Virasoro algebra. Specifically, we consider Virasoro modules induced from so-called polynomial subalgebras, and we show that the restriction of these modules results in twisted versions of familiar modules such as Verma modules and Whittaker modules.
In this paper, we construct a family of non-weight modules over the super-Virasoro algebras. Those modules when regarded as modules of the Ramond algebra and further restricted as modules over the Cartan subalgebra $\mathfrak{h}$ are free of rank $1$, while when regarded as modules of the Neveu-Schwarz algebra and further restricted as modules over the Cartan subalgebra $\mathfrak{H}$ are free of rank $2$. We obtain a sufficient and necessary condition for such modules to be simple. Moreover, we determine the isomorphism classes of these modules. Finally, we show that these modules constitute …
We apply the construction of the universal lower-bounded generalized twisted modules by the author to construct universal lower-bounded and grading-restricted generalized twisted modules for affine vertex (operator) algebras. We prove that these universal twisted modules for affine vertex (operator) algebras are equivalent to suitable induced modules of the corresponding twisted affine Lie algebra or quotients of such induced modules by explicitly given submodules.
In this paper, we study a class of non-weight modules over the affine-Virasoro algebra of type $A_1$, which are free modules of rank one when restricted to the Cartan subalgebra (modulo center). We give the classification of such modules. Moreover, the simplicity and the isomorphism classes of these modules are determined.
We motivate and prove a series of identities which form a generalization of the Euler's pentagonal number theorem, and are closely related to specialized Macdonald's identities for powers of the Dedekind $η$--function. More precisely, we show that what we call ``denominator formula'' for the Virasoro algebra has ``higher analogue'' for all $c_{s,t}$-minimal models. We obtain one identity per series which is in agreement with features of conformal field theory such as {\em fusion} and {\em modular invariance} that require all the irreducible modules of the series. In particular, in the case of …
In this paper we give two realizations of the restricted Kostka polynomials for $\sl_2$. Firstly we identify the restricted Kostka polynomials with a characters of the zero homology of the current algebra with a coefficients in a certain modules. As a corollary we reobtain the alternating sum formula. Secondly we show that the restricted Kostka polynomials are a $q$-multiplicities of the decomposition of the certain integrable $\hat{\sl}_2$-modules to the irreducible components. This allows to write a kind of fermionic formula for the Virasoro unitary models.
The aim of the paper is to study modules for the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $\mathcal H$ at level zero as modules for the $W(2,2)$-algebra by using construction from [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 219 (2015), 4322-4342, arXiv:1405.1707]. We prove that the irreducible highest weight ${\mathcal H}$-module is irreducible as $W(2,2)$-module if and only if it has a typical highest weight. Finally, we construct a screening operator acting on the Heisenberg-Virasoro vertex algebra whose kernel is exactly $W(2,2)$ vertex algebra.
For a grading-restricted vertex superalgebra $V$ and an automorphism $g$ of $V$, we give a linearly independent set of generators of the universal lower-bounded generalized $g$-twisted $V$-module $\widehat{M}^{[g]}_{B}$ constructed by the author in \cite{H-const-twisted-mod}. We prove that there exist irreducible lower-bounded generalized $g$-twisted $V$-modules by showing that there exists a maximal proper submodule of $\widehat{M}^{[g]}_{B}$ for a one-dimensional space $M$. We then give several spanning sets of $\widehat{M}^{[g]}_{B}$ and discuss the relations among elements of the spanning …
We give a general, direct and explicit construction of lower-bounded generalized twisted modules satisfying a universal property for a grading-restricted vertex (super)algebra $V$ associated to an automorphism $g$ of $V$. In particular, when $g$ is the identity, we obtain lower-bounded generalized $V$-modules satisfying a universal property. Let $W$ be a lower-bounded graded vector space equipped with a set of "generating twisted fields" and a set of "generator twist fields" satisfying a weak commutativity for generating twisted fields, a generalized weak commutativity for one generating twist…
We define a family of graded restricted modules for the polynomial current algebra associated to a simple Lie algebra. We study the graded character of these modules and show that they are the same as the graded characters of certain Demazure modules. In particular, we see that the specialized characters are the same as those of the Kirillov Reshetikhin modules for quantum affine algebras.
For each Drinfeld-Sokolov integrable hierarchy associated to affine Kac-Moody algebra, we obtain a uniform construction of tau function by using tau-symmetric Hamiltonian densities, moreover, we represent its Virasoro symmetries as linear/nonlinear actions on the tau function. The relations between the tau function constructed in this paper and those defined for particular cases of Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchies in the literature are clarified. We also show that, whenever the affine Kac-Moody algebra is simply-laced or twisted, the tau functions of the Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy coincide with th…
We present a bilocal isomorphism between the algebra generated by a single real twisted boson field and the algebra of the boson $βγ$ ghost system. As a consequence of this twisted vertex algebra isomorphism we show that each of these two algebras possesses both an untwisted and a twisted Heisenberg bosonic currents, as well as three separate families of Virasoro fields. We show that this bilocal isomorphism generalizes to an isomorphism between the algebra generated by the twisted boson field with $2n$ points of localization and the algebra of the $2n$ symplectic bosons.
We study ${\mathbb Z}$-graded thread $W^+$-modules $$V=\oplus_i V_i, \; \dim{V_i}=1, -\infty \le k< i < N\le +\infty, \; \dim{V_i}=0, \; {\rm \; otherwise},$$ over the positive part $W^+$ of the Witt (Virasoro) algebra $W$. There is well-known example of infinite-dimensional ($k=-\infty, N=\infty$) two-parametric family $V_{λ, μ}$ of $W^+$-modules induced by the twisted $W$-action on tensor densities $P(x)x^μ(dx)^{-λ}, μ, λ\in {\mathbb K}, P(x) \in {\mathbb K}[t]$. Another family $C_{α, β}$ of $W^+$-modules is defined by the action of two multiplicative generators $e_1, e_2$ of $W^+$ as $e_1f_…
We construct vertex operator representations for the full (N+1)-toroidal Lie algebra g. We associate with g a toroidal vertex operator algebra, which is a tensor product of an affine VOA, a sub-VOA of a hyperbolic lattice VOA, affine sl(N) VOA and a twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro VOA. The modules for the toroidal VOA are also modules for the toroidal Lie algebra g. We also construct irreducible modules for an important subalgebra gdiv of the toroidal Lie algebra that corresponds to the divergence free vector fields. This subalgebra carries a non-degenerate invariant bilinear form. The VOA that co…
In the present paper, a class of new simple modules over the $N=1$ Ramond algebra are constructed, which are induced from simple modules over some finite dimensional solvable Lie superalgebras. These new modules are simple restricted modules over the $N=1$ Ramond algebra. Combined with the result in \cite{L1}, a classification of simple weak $ψ$-twisted $\bar W(0,c)$-modules under certain conditions is also given. At last, some examples of simple restricted $N=1$ Ramond modules as various versions of Whittaker modules are presented (classical Whittaker modules were studied in \cite{LPX}).
We use Naito-Sagaki's work [S. Naito & D. Sagaki, J. Algebra 245 (2001) 395--412, J. Algebra 251 (2002) 461--474] on Lakshmibai-Seshadri paths fixed by diagram automorphisms to study the partitions fixed by Mullineux involution. We characterize the set of Mullineux-fixed partitions in terms of crystal graphs of basic representations of twisted affine Lie algebras of type $A_{2\ell}^{(2)}$ and of type $D_{\ell+1}^{(2)}$. We set up bijections between the set of symmetric partitions and the set of partitions into distinct parts. We propose a notion of double restricted strict partitions. Bijectio…
We introduce and study twist vertex operators for a (lower-bounded generalized) twisted modules for a grading-restricted vertex (super)algebra. We prove duality, weak associativity, a Jacobi identity, a generalized commutator formula, generalized weak commutativity, and convergence and commutativity for products of more than two operators involving twist vertex operators. These properties of twist vertex operators play an important role in the author's recent general, direct and explicit construction of (lower-bounded generalized) twisted modules.
In this paper, we give a construction of simple modules generalizing and including both highest weight and Whittaker modules for the Neveu-Schwarz algebra, in the spirit of the work of Mazorchuk and Zhao on simple Virasoro modules. We establish a 1-1 correspondence between simple restricted Neveu-Schwarz modules and simple modules of a family of finite dimensional solvable Lie superalgebras associated to the Neveu-Schwarz algebra. Moreover, for two of these superalgebras all simple modules are classified.
In this paper, we introduce a class of infinite Lie conformal algebras $\mathfrak{B}(α,β,p)$, which are the semi-direct sums of Block type Lie conformal algebra $\mathfrak{B}(p)$ and its non-trivial conformal modules of $\Z$-graded free intermediate series. The annihilation algebras are a class of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras, which include a lot of interesting subalgebras: Virasoro algebra, Block type Lie algebra, twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra and so on. We give a complete classification of all finite non-trivial irreducible conformal modules of $\mathfrak{B}(α,β,p)$ for $α,β\in\C,…
We construct a class of non-weight modules over the twisted $N=2$ superconformal algebra $\T$. Let $\mathfrak{h}=\C L_0\oplus\C G_0$ be the Cartan subalgebra of $\T$, and let $\mathfrak{t}=\C L_0$ be the Cartan subalgebra of even part $\T_{\bar 0}$. These modules over $\T$ when restricted to the $\mathfrak{h}$ are free of rank $1$ or when restricted to the $\mathfrak{t}$ are free of rank $2$. We provide the sufficient and necessary conditions for those modules being simple, as well as giving the sufficient and necessary conditions for two $\T$-modules being isomorphic. We also compute the acti…
The study of twisted representations of graded vertex algebras is important for understanding orbifold models in conformal field theory. In this paper we consider the general set-up of a vertex algebra $V$, graded by $\G/\Z$ for some subgroup $\G$ of $\R$ containing $\Z$, and with a Hamiltonian operator $H$ having real (but not necessarily integer) eigenvalues. We construct the directed system of twisted level $p$ Zhu algebras $\zhu_{p, \G}(V)$, and we prove the following theorems: For each $p$ there is a bijection between the irreducible $\zhu_{p, \G}(V)$-modules and the irreducible $\G$-twis…
In this paper, we study representations for three-point Lie algebras of genus zero based on the Cox-Jurisich's presentations. We construct two functors which transform simple restricted modules with nonzero levels over the standard affine algebras into simple modules over the three-point affine algebras of genus zero. As a corollary, vertex representations are constructed for the three-point affine algebra of genus zero using vertex operators. Moreover, we construct a Fock module for certain quotient of three-point Virasoro algebra of genus zero.
We introduce a category B of bounded modules for the toroidal Lie algebras and study irreducible modules in B. We show that one of the irreducible modules in this category, L(T_0), admits a structure of a vertex operator algebra. We prove that L(T_0) factors into a tensor product of a sub-VOA of a hyperbolic lattice VOA and a simple VOA associated with a twisted Virasoro-affine Lie algebra. Every irreducible module in category B is a VOA module for a slightly larger VOA V(T_0). Knowing the structure of V(T_0), we are able to give explicit realizations for all irreducible modules in category B …
We consider converses to the density theorem for irreducible, projective, unitary group representations restricted to lattices using the dimension theory of Hilbert modules over twisted group von Neumann algebras. We show that under the right assumptions, the restriction of a $σ$-projective unitary representation $π$ of a group $G$ to a lattice $Γ$ extends to a Hilbert module over the twisted group von Neumann algebra $\text{L}(Γ,σ)$. We then compute the center-valued von Neumann dimension of this Hilbert module. For abelian groups with 2-cocycle satisfying Kleppner's condition, we show that t…
