The Lie algebra $sl_2 ( \mathbb{C} )$ may be regarded in a natural way as a subalgebra of the infinite-dimensional Virasoro Lie algebra, and this suggests there may be connections between the representation theory of the two algebras. In this paper, we explore the restriction to $sl_2 ( \mathbb{C} )$ of certain induced modules for the Virasoro algebra. Specifically, we consider Virasoro modules induced from so-called polynomial subalgebras, and we show that the restriction of these modules results in twisted versions of familiar modules such as Verma modules and Whittaker modules.
In this paper, we determine all simple restricted modules over the mirror Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra ${\mathfrak{D}}$, and the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $\bar\mathfrak{D}$ with nonzero level. As applications, we characterize simple Whittaker modules and simple highest weight modules over ${\mathfrak{D}}$. A vertex-algebraic interpretation of our result is the classification of simple weak twisted and untwisted modules over the Heisenberg-Virasoro vertex operator algebras $\mathcal V^{c} \cong V_{Vir}^{c}\otimes M(1)$. We also present a few examples of simple restricted ${\mathfrak{D…
In this paper, we construct a family of non-weight modules over the super-Virasoro algebras. Those modules when regarded as modules of the Ramond algebra and further restricted as modules over the Cartan subalgebra $\mathfrak{h}$ are free of rank $1$, while when regarded as modules of the Neveu-Schwarz algebra and further restricted as modules over the Cartan subalgebra $\mathfrak{H}$ are free of rank $2$. We obtain a sufficient and necessary condition for such modules to be simple. Moreover, we determine the isomorphism classes of these modules. Finally, we show that these modules constitute …
Let $\mathfrak g(G,λ)$ denote the deformed generalized Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra related to a complex parameter $λ\neq-1$ and an additive subgroup $G$ of $\mathbb C$. For a total order on $G$ that is compatible with addition, a Verma module over $\mathfrak g(G,λ)$ is defined. In this paper, we completely determine the irreducibility of these Verma modules.
We conjecture an explicit bound on the prime characteristic of a field, under which the Weyl modules of affine $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ and the minimal series modules of Virasoro algebra remain irreducible, and Goddard-Kent-Olive coset construction for affine $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ is valid.
We construct and classify the free $U(\mathbb{C}L_0\oplus \mathbb{C}M_0\oplus\mathbb{C}Y_0)$-modules of rank $1$ over the Schrödinger-Virasoro algebra $\mathfrak{sv}(s)$ for $s=0$.Moreover, we show that the class of free $U(\mathbb{C}L_0\oplus\mathbb{C}M_0)$-modules of rank $1$ over the Schrödinger-Virasoro algebra $\mathfrak{sv}(s)$ for $s=\frac{1}{2}$ is nonexistent.
The work is devoted to a probably new connection between deformed Virasoro algebra and quantum $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$. We give an explicit realization of Virasoro current via vertex operators of level 1 integrable representation of $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$. The same is done for a twisted version of deformed Virasoro algebra.
In this paper, we classify all simple Harish-Chandra modules over the super affine-Virasoro algebra $\widehat{\mathcal{L}}=\mathcal{W}\ltimes(\mathfrak{g}\otimes \mathcal{A})\oplus \mathbb{C}C$, where $\mathcal{A}=\mathbb{C}[t^{\pm 1}]\otimesΛ(1)$ is the tensor superalgebra of the Laurent polynomial algebra in even variable $t$ and the Grassmann algebra in odd variable $ξ$, $\mathcal{W}$ is the Lie superalgebra of superderivations of $\mathcal{A}$, and $\mathfrak{g}$ is a finite-dimensional perfect Lie superalgebra.
We classify Jet modules for the Lie (super)algebras $\mathfrak{L}=W\ltimes(\mathfrak{g}\otimes\mathbb{C}[t,t^{-1}])$, where $W$ is the Witt algebra and $\mathfrak{g}$ is a Lie superalgebra with an even diagonlizable derivation. Then we give a concept method to classify all simple cuspidal modules for $\mathfrak{L}$ and the map superalgebras, which are of the form $\mathfrak{L}\otimes R$, where $R$ is a Noetherian unital supercommutative associative superalgebra.
For any triple $(μ,λ,α)$ of complex numbers and an $\mathfrak a$-module ${V}$, a class of non-weight modules $\mathcal{M}\big(V,μ,Ω(λ,α)\big)$ over the Virasoro algebra $\mathcal L$ is constructed in this paper. We prove if $V$ is a nontrivial simple $\mathfrak a$-module satisfying: for any $v\in V$ there exists $r\in\Z_+$ such that $L_{r+i}v=0$ for all $i\geq1$, then $\mathcal{M}\big(V,μ,Ω(λ,α)\big)$ is simple if and only if $μ\neq1, λ\neq0,α\neq0,$. We also give the necessary and sufficient conditions for two such simple $\mathcal L$-modules being isomorphic. Finally, we prove that these sim…
In this paper, we give a complete classification of all free $U(\mathbb{C}L_0 \oplus \mathbb{C}Y_0\oplus \mathbb{C}M_0)$-modules of rank 1 over a Schr{ö}dinger-Virasoro type algebra $\mathfrak{tsv}$.
In this paper we classify the irreducible integrable modules for the loop affine-Virasoro algebra $(( \overset{\circ}{\mathfrak{g}} \otimes \mathbb{C}[t, t^{-1}] \oplus \mathbb{C} K) \rtimes \text{Vir}) \otimes A$, where $A$ is a finitely generated commutative associative algebra with unity.
In this paper, we introduce a class of infinite Lie conformal algebras $\mathfrak{B}(α,β,p)$, which are the semi-direct sums of Block type Lie conformal algebra $\mathfrak{B}(p)$ and its non-trivial conformal modules of $\Z$-graded free intermediate series. The annihilation algebras are a class of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras, which include a lot of interesting subalgebras: Virasoro algebra, Block type Lie algebra, twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra and so on. We give a complete classification of all finite non-trivial irreducible conformal modules of $\mathfrak{B}(α,β,p)$ for $α,β\in\C,…
We define a 3-point Virasoro algebra, and construct a representation of it on a previously defined Fock space for the 3-point affine algebra $\mathfrak{sl}(2, \mathcal R) \oplus\left( Ω_{\mathcal R}/d{\mathcal R}\right)$.
In this thesis we classify modules over a Witt-type Lie algebra and superalgebra such that when considered as modules of $\mathcal{U}(\mathfrak{h})$ they are free of rank 1. We provide sufficient conditions for simplicity, and compute the action of an automorphism on the module. Lastly, we apply the weighting functor and show that the resulting modules are intermediate series modules.
Branching rules for the restriction of regular representations of $\mathrm{GL}_2(\mathfrak{o}/\mathfrak{p}^r)$ to $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathfrak{o}/\mathfrak{p}^r).$
In this paper, we study a class of non-weight modules over two kinds of algebras related to the Virasoro algebra, i.e., the loop-Virasoro algebras $\mathfrak{L}$ and a class of Block type Lie algebras $\mathfrak{B(q)}$, where $q$ is a nonzero complex number. We determine those modules whose restriction to the Cartan subalgebra (modulo center) are free of rank one. We also provide a sufficient and necessary condition for such modules to be simple, and determine their isomorphism classes. Moreover, we obtain the simplicity of modules over loop-Virasoro algebras by taking tensor products of some …
Let $\mathcal{O}_{25}$ be the vertex algebraic braided tensor category of finite-length modules for the Virasoro Lie algebra at central charge $25$ whose composition factors are the irreducible quotients of reducible Verma modules. We show that $\mathcal{O}_{25}$ is rigid and that its simple objects generate a semisimple tensor subcategory that is braided tensor equivalent to an abelian $3$-cocycle twist of the category of finite-dimensional $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-modules. We also show that this $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-type subcategory is braid-reversed tensor equivalent to a similar category for the Vir…
In this paper, we consider the modules for the Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra and the W algebra $W(2,2)$. We determine the modules whose restriction to the Cartan subalgebra (modulo center) are free of rank $1$ for the two algebras. We also determine the simplicity of these modules. These modules provide new simple modules for the W algebra $W(2,2)$.
In this paper, we deal with the $\mathcal{U}(\mathfrak{g})$-action on a $\mathfrak{g}$-module on which a larger algebra $\mathcal{A}$ acts irreducibly. Under a mild condition, we will show that the support of the $\mathcal{Z}(\mathfrak{g})$-action is a union of affine subspaces in the dual of a Cartan subalgebra modulo the Weyl group action. As a consequence, we propose a definition of a Cartan subalgebra for such a $\mathfrak{g}$-module. The support of the $\mathcal{Z}(\mathfrak{g})$-module is an algebraic counterpart of the support of the measure in the irreducible decomposition of a unitary…
For a simple module $M$ over the positive part of the Virasoro algebra (actually for any simple module over some finite dimensional solvable Lie algebras $\mathfrak{a}_r$) and any $α\in\C$, a class of weight modules $\mathcal {N}(M, α)$ over the Virasoro algebra are constructed. The necessary and sufficient condition for $\mathcal {N}(M, \a)$ to be simple is obtained. We also determine the necessary and sufficient conditions for two such irreducible Virasoro modules to be isomorphic. Many examples for such irreducible Virasoro modules with different features are provided. In particular the irr…
Let $(G,G^Γ)$ be a Klein four symmetric pair. The author wants to classify all the Klein four symmetric pairs $(G,G^Γ)$ such that there exists at least one nontrivial unitarizable simple $(\mathfrak{g},K)$-module $π_K$ that is discretely decomposable as a $(\mathfrak{g}^Γ,K^Γ)$-module. In this article, three assumptions will be made. Firstly, $G$ is an exceptional Lie group of Hermitian type, i.e., $G=\mathrm{E}_{6(-14)}$ or $\mathrm{E}_{7(-25)}$. Secondly, $G^Γ$ is noncompact. Thirdly, there exists an element $σ\inΓ$ corresponding to a symmetric pair of anti-holomorphic type such that $π_K$ i…
The three point current algebra $\mathfrak{sl}(2,\mathcal R)$ where $\mathcal R=\mathbb C[t,t^{-1},u\,|\,u^2=t^2+4t ]$ and three-point Virasoro algebra both act on a previously constructed Fock space. In this paper we prove that the semi-direct product, i.e. the gauge algebra acts on the Fock space as well.
In this paper, we studied the jet modules for the centerless Virasoro-like algebra which is the Lie algebra of the Lie group of the area-preserving diffeomorphisms of a $2$-torus. The jet modules are certain natural modules over the Lie algebra of semi-direct product of the centerless Virasoro-like algebra and the Laurent polynomial algebra in two variables. We reduce the irreducible jet modules to the finite-dimensional irreducible modules over some infinite-dimensional Lie algebra and then characterize the irreducible jet modules with irreducible finite dimensional modules over $\mathfrak{sl…
Let $(G,G_1)$ be a symmetric pair of holomorphic type, and we consider a pair of Hermitian symmetric spaces $D_1=G_1/K_1\subset D=G/K$, realized as bounded symmetric domains in complex vector spaces $\mathfrak{p}^+_1\subset\mathfrak{p}^+$ respectively. Then the universal covering group $\widetilde{G}$ of $G$ acts unitarily on the weighted Bergman space $\mathcal{H}_λ(D)\subset\mathcal{O}(D)$ on $D$. Its restriction to the subgroup $\widetilde{G}_1$ decomposes discretely and multiplicity-freely, and its branching law is given explicitly by Hua-Kostant-Schmid-Kobayashi's formula in terms of the …
We introduce and study the so-called serpentine representations of the infinite symmetric group $\sinf$, which turn out to be closely related to the basic representation of the affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_2}$ and representations of the Virasoro algebra. This is a new version of the manuscript of the same authors "On a relation between the basic representation of the affine Lie algebra $\widehat\sl$ and a Schur--Weyl representation of the infinite symmetric group" (arXiv:1403.1558)
In this paper, we give the decomposition into irreducible characters of the restriction to the wreath product $\mathbb{Z}_{p-1} \wr \mathfrak{S}_w$ of any irreducible character of $(\mathbb{Z}_p \rtimes \mathbb{Z}_{p-1}) \wr \mathfrak{S}_w$, where $p$ is any odd prime, $w \geq 0$ is an integer, and $\mathbb{Z}_p$ and $\mathbb{Z}_{p-1}$ denote the cyclic groups of order $p$ and $p-1$ respectively. This answers the question of how to decompose the restrictions to $p$-regular elements of irreducible characters of the symmetric group $\mathfrak{S}_n$ in the $\mathbb{Z}$-basis corresponding to the …
The aim of this paper is to study some brackets defined on $(τ,σ)$-derivations satisfying quasi-Lie identities. Moreover, we provide examples of $(p,q)$-deformations of Witt and Virasoro algebras as well as $\mathfrak{sl}(2)$ algebra. These constructions generalize the results obtained by Hartwig, Larsson and Silvestrov on $σ$-derivations, arising in connection with discretizations and deformations of algebras of vector fields.
We show that the algebras describing blocks of the category of cuspidal weight (respectively generalized weight) $\mathfrak{sl}_n$-modules are one-parameter (respectively multi-parameter) deformations of certain Brauer tree algebras. We explicitly determine these deformations both graded and ungraded. The algebras we deform also appear as special centralizer subalgebras of Temperley-Lieb algebras or as generalized Khovanov algebras. They show up in the context of highest weight representations of the Virasoro algebra, in the context of rational representations of the general linear group and S…
Let $\mathfrak a$ be an algebraic Lie subalgebra of a simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$ with index $\mathfrak a \leq \rank \mathfrak g$. Let $Y(\mathfrak a)$ denote the algebra of $\mathfrak a$ invariant polynomial functions on $\mathfrak a^*$. An algebraic slice for $\mathfrak a$ is an affine subspace $η+V$ with $η\in \mathfrak a^*$ and $V \subset \mathfrak a^*$ a subspace of dimension index $\mathfrak a$ such that restriction of function induces an isomorphism of $Y(\mathfrak a)$ onto the algebra $R[η+V]$ of regular functions on $η+V$. Slices have been obtained in a number of cases through th…
We generalize Chevalley's theorem about restriction of \mathfrak{g}-invariant polynomial functions \mathfrak{g}->C to W-invariant functions on the Cartan \mathfrak{h}->C. We consider the case when \mathfrak{g} is replaced by a quantum group and the target space of the polynomial maps is replaced by a finite dimensional representation V of this quantum group. We prove that the restriction map Res:(O_q(G)\otimes V)^{U_q(\mathfrak{g})}-> O(H)\otimes V is injective and describe the image.
An algebraic group is called semi-reductive if it is a semi-direct product of a reductive subgroup and the unipotent radical. Such a semi-reductive algebraic group naturally arises and also plays a key role in the study of modular representations of non-classical finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras in positive characteristic, and some other cases. Let $G$ ba a connected semi-reductive algebraic group over an algebraically closed field $\mathbb{F}$ and $\mathfrak{g}=Lie(G)$. It turns out that $G$ has many same properties as reductive groups, such as the Bruhat decomposition. In this note, we…
Let $n$ and $k$ be natural numbers such that $2^k < n$. We study the restriction to $\mathfrak{S}_{n-2^k}$ of odd-degree irreducible characters of the symmetric group $\mathfrak{S}_n$. This analysis completes the study begun in [Ayyer A., Prasad A., Spallone S., Sem. Lothar. Combin. 75 (2015), Art. B75g, 13 pages] and recently developed in [Isaacs I.M., Navarro G., Olsson J.B., Tiep P.H., J. Algebra 478 (2017), 271-282].
In this paper we study the partial Brauer $\mathbb{C}$-algebras $\mathfrak{R}_n(δ,δ')$, where $n \in \mathbb{N}$ and $δ,δ'\in\mathbb{C}$. We show that these algebras are generically semisimple, construct the Specht modules and determine the Specht module restriction rules for the restriction $\mathfrak{R}_{n-1} \hookrightarrow \mathfrak{R}_n$. We also determine the corresponding decomposition matrix, and the Cartan decomposition matrix.
Let $\mathfrak{p}$ be a parabolic subalgebra of $\mathfrak{sl}(V)$ of maximal dimension and let $\mathfrak{n} \subset \mathfrak{p}$ be the corresponding nilradical. In this paper we classify the set of $\mathfrak{sl}(V)$-modules whose restriction to $U(\mathfrak{n})$ is free of rank $1$. It turns out that isomorphism classes of such modules are parametrized by polynomials in $\dim V-1$ variables. We determine the submodule structure for these modules and we show that they generically are simple.
The paper is devoted to a computation of the Lie superalgebras of holomorphic vector fields on isotropic flag supermanifolds of maximal type corresponding to the Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{osp}_{2m|2n}(\mathbb C)$ and $π\mathfrak{sp}_{n}(\mathbb C)$. The result is that under some restrictions on the flag type any holomorphic vector field is fundamental with respect to the natural action of the Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{osp}_{2m|2n}(\mathbb C)$ or $π\mathfrak{sp}_{n}(\mathbb C)$.

Let $\mathfrak g$ be a simple Lie algebra over an algebraically closed field $\bf k$ of characteristic zero and $\bf G$ its adjoint group. Let $\mathfrak q$ be a biparabolic subalgebra of $\mathfrak g$. The algebra $Sy(\mathfrak q)$ of semi-invariants on $\mathfrak q^*$ is polynomial in most cases, in particular when $\mathfrak g$ is simple of type $A$ or $C$. On the other hand $\mathfrak q$ admits a canonical truncation $\mathfrak q_Λ$ such that $Sy(\mathfrak q)=Sy(\mathfrak q_Λ)=Y(\mathfrak q_Λ)$ where $Y(\mathfrak q_Λ)$ denotes the algebra of invariant functions on $\mathfrak q_Λ^*$. An ada…
Extending results of Rais-Tauvel, Macedo-Savage, and Arakawa-Premet, we prove that under mild restrictions on the Lie algebra $\mathfrak q$ having the polynomial ring of symmetric invariants, the m-th Takiff algebra of $\mathfrak q$, $\mathfrak q\langle m\rangle$, also has a polynomial ring of symmetric invariants.
