In this paper, we introduce a class of infinite Lie conformal algebras $\mathfrak{B}(α,β,p)$, which are the semi-direct sums of Block type Lie conformal algebra $\mathfrak{B}(p)$ and its non-trivial conformal modules of $\Z$-graded free intermediate series. The annihilation algebras are a class of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras, which include a lot of interesting subalgebras: Virasoro algebra, Block type Lie algebra, twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra and so on.
We give a complete classification of all finite non-trivial irreducible conformal modules of $\mathfrak{B}(α,β,p)$ for $α,β\in\C, p\in\C^*$. As an application, the classifications of finite irreducible conformal modules over a series of finite Lie conformal algebras $\mathfrak{b}(n)$ for $n\geq1$ are given.
We classify completely prime primitive ideals whose associated varieties are the closure of the minimal nilpotent orbit of $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{sl}(n,\mathbb{C})$, and classify irreducible $(\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{k})$-modules which have those ideals as annihilators. Moreover, we irreducibly decompose them as $\mathfrak{k}$-modules.
There exist principal $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ subalgebras for hyperbolic Kac-Moody Lie algebras. In the case of rank 2 symmetric hyperbolic Kac-Moody Lie algebras, certain $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ subalgebras are constructed. These subalgebras are generalizations of principal $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ subalgebras. We show that the rank 2 symmetric hyperbolic Kac-Moody Lie algebras themselves are irreducibly decomposed under the action of this $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ subalgebras. Furthermore, we classify irreducible components of the decomposition. In particular, we obtain multiplicities of unitary principal series and c…
We prove a conjecture for the irreducibility of singular Gelfand-Tsetlin modules. We describe explicitly the irreducible subquotients of certain classes of singular Gelfand-Tsetlin modules.
In this paper we construct a class of new irreducible modules over untwisted affine Kac-Moody algebras $\widetilde{\mathfrak{g}}$, generalizing and including both highest weight modules and Whittaker modules. These modules allow us to obtain a complete classification of irreducible $\widetilde{\mathfrak{g}}$-modules on which the action of each root vector in $\widetilde{\mathfrak{n}}_+$ is locally finite, where $\widetilde{\mathfrak{n}}_+$ is the locally nilpotent subalgebra (or positive part) of $\widetilde{\mathfrak{g}}$. The necessary and sufficient conditions for two such irreducible $\wid…
We classify irreducible super unitary representations of an orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra $ \mathfrak{osp}(M/N; \mathbb{R} ) $ using the notion of super dual pairs in $ \mathfrak{osp}(M/N) $.
Let $Γ$ be a group acting on a scheme $X$ and on a Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{g}$, both defined over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero $\Bbbk$. The corresponding equivariant map superalgebra $M(\mathfrak{g}, X)^Γ$ is the Lie superalgebra of equivariant regular maps from $X$ to $\mathfrak{g}$. In this paper we complete the classification of finite-dimensional irreducible $M(\mathfrak{g}, X)^Γ$-modules when $\mathfrak{g}$ is a finite-dimensional simple Lie superalgebra, $X$ is of finite type and $Γ$ is a finite abelian group acting freely on the rational points of $X$, by cla…
In paper, we study the representation theory of super $W(2,2)$ algebra ${\mathfrak{L}}$. We prove that ${\mathfrak{L}}$ has no mixed irreducible modules and give the classification of irreducible modules of intermediate series. We determinate the conjugate-linear anti-involution of ${\mathfrak{L}}$ and give the unitary modules of intermediate series.
We study non-standard Verma type modules over the Kac-Moody queer Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{q}(n)^{(2)}$. We give a sufficient condition under which such modules are irreducible. We also give a classification of all irreducible diagonal $\mathbb{Z}$-graded modules over certain Heisenberg Lie superalgebras contained in $\mathfrak{q}(n)^{(2)}$.
The classical Gelfand-Tsetlin formulas provide a basis in terms of tableaux and an explicit action of the generators of $\mathfrak{gl} (n)$ for every irreducible finite-dimensional $\mathfrak{gl} (n)$-module. These formulas can be used to define a $\mathfrak{gl} (n)$-module structure on some infinite-dimensional modules - the so-called generic Gelfand-Tsetlin modules. The generic Gelfand-Tsetlin modules are convenient to work with since for every generic tableau there exists a unique irreducible generic Gelfand-Tsetlin module containing this tableau as a basis element. In this paper we initiat…
In earlier work, Barchini, Kable, and Zierau constructed a number of conformally invariant systems of differential operators associated to Heisenberg parabolic subalgebras in simple Lie algebras. The construction was systematic, but the existence of such a system was left open in two cases, namely, the $Ω_3$ system for type $A_2$ and type $D_4$. Here, such a system is shown to exist for both cases. The construction of the system may also be interpreted as giving an explicit homomorphism between generalized Verma modules.
Using combinatorics of Young tableaux, we give an explicit construction of irreducible graded modules over Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier algebras $R$ and their cyclotomic quotients $R^λ$ of type $A_{n}$. Our construction is compatible with crystal structure. Let ${\mathbf B}(\infty)$ and ${\mathbf B}(λ)$ be the $U_q(\slm_{n+1})$-crystal consisting of marginally large tableaux and semistandard tableaux of shape $λ$, respectively. On the other hand, let ${\mathfrak B}(\infty)$ and ${\mathfrak B}(λ)$ be the $U_q(\slm_{n+1})$-crystals consisting of isomorphism classes of irreducible graded $R$-modules a…
For each irreducible finite dimensional representation of the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C})$ of $2\times 2$ traceless matrices, an explicit uniform upper bound is given for the multiplicities in the cocharacter sequence of the polynomial identities satisfied by the given representation.
Let $\mathfrak g=\mathfrak g_{\bar 0}\oplus\mathfrak g_{\bar 1}$ be the queer Lie superalgebra and let $L$ be a finite-dimensional non-trivial irreducible $\mathfrak g$-module. Restricting the $\mathfrak g$-action on $L$ to $\mathfrak g_{\bar 0}$, we show that the space of $\mathfrak g_{\bar 0}$-invariants $L^{\mathfrak g_{\bar 0}}$ is trivial. As a consequence we establish a conjecture first formulated by Gorelik, Grantcharov and Mazorchuk on the triviality of the supercharacter of irreducible $\mathfrak g$-modules in the case when the modules are finite dimensional.
Building on work of the first and last author, we prove that an embedding of simple affine vertex algebras $V_{\mathbf{k}}(\mathfrak g^0)\subset V_{k}(\mathfrak g)$, corresponding to an embedding of a maximal equal rank reductive subalgebra $\mathfrak g^0$ into a simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$, is conformal if and only if the corresponding central charges are equal. We classify the equal rank conformal embeddings. Furthermore we describe, in almost all cases, when $V_{k}(\mathfrak g)$ decomposes finitely as a $V_{\mathbf{k}}(\mathfrak g^0)$-module.
A depth one grading $\mathfrak{g}= \mathfrak{g}^{-1}\oplus \mathfrak{g}^0 \oplus \mathfrak{g}^1 \oplus \cdots \oplus \mathfrak{g}^{\ell}$ of a finite dimensional Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{g}$ is called nonlinear irreducible if the isotropy representation $\mathrm{ad}_{\mathfrak{g}^0}|_{\mathfrak{g}^{-1}}$ is irreducible and $\mathfrak{g}^1 \neq (0)$. An example is the full prolongation of an irreducible linear Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{g}^0 \subset \mathfrak{gl}(\mathfrak{g}^{-1})$ of finite type with non-trivial first prolongation. We prove that a complex Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{g}$ w…
For a commutative algebra $A$ over $\mathbb{C}$,denote $\mathfrak{g}=\text{Der}(A)$. A module over the smash product $A\# U(\mathfrak{g})$ is called a jet $\mathfrak{g}$-module, where $U(\mathfrak{g})$ is the universal enveloping algebra of $\mathfrak{g}$.In the present paper, we study jet modules in the case of $A=\mathbb{C}[t_1^{\pm 1},t_2]$.We show that $A\#U(\mathfrak{g})\cong\mathcal{D}\otimes U(L)$, where $\mathcal{D}$ is the Weyl algebra $\mathbb{C}[t_1^{\pm 1},t_2, \frac{\partial}{\partial t_1},\frac{\partial}{\partial t_2}]$, and $L$ is a Lie subalgebra of $A\# U(\mathfrak{g})$ called…
We introduce the notion of a Billiard Array. This is an equilateral triangular array of one-dimensional subspaces of a vector space $V$, subject to several conditions that specify which sums are direct. We show that the Billiard Arrays on $V$ are in bijection with the 3-tuples of totally opposite flags on $V$. We classify the Billiard Arrays up to isomorphism. We use Billiard Arrays to describe the finite-dimensional irreducible modules for the quantum algebra $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ and the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_2$.
Let $\mathbb{C}_q$ be a non-commutative Laurent polynomial ring associated with a $(n+1)\times (n+1)$ rational quantum matrix $q$. Let $\mathfrak{sl}_d(\mathbb{C}_q)\oplus HC_1(\mathbb{C}_q)$ be the universal central extension of Lie subalgebra $\mathfrak{sl}_d(\mathbb{C}_q)$ of $\mathfrak{gl}_d(\mathbb{C}_q)$. Now let us take the Lie algebra $τ=\mathfrak{gl}_d(\mathbb{C}_q)\oplus HC_1(\mathbb{C}_q)$. Let $Der(\mathbb{C}_q)$ be the Lie algebra of all derivations of $\mathbb{C}_q$. Now we consider the Lie algebra $\tildeτ=τ\rtimes Der(\mathbb{C}_q)$, called as full toroidal Lie algebra co-ordin…
In the present paper, we prove that any finite non-trivial irreducible module over a rank two Lie conformal algebra $\mathcal{H}$ is of rank one. We also describe the actions of $\mathcal{H}$ on its finite irreducible modules explicitly. Moreover, we show that all finite non-trivial irreducible modules of finite Lie conformal algebras whose semisimple quotient is the Virasoro Lie conformal algebra are of rank one.
In this paper, we used the free fields of Wakimoto to construct a class of irreducible representations for the general linear Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}(\mathbb{C})$. The structures of the representations over the general linear Lie superalgebra and the special linear Lie superalgebra are studied in this paper. Then we extend the construction to the affine Kac-Moody Lie superalgebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}}(\mathbb{C})$ on the tensor product of a polynomial algebra and an exterior algebra with infinitely many variables involving one parameter $μ$, and we also obtain the necess…
We give a classification of all irreducible completely pointed $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1})$ modules over a characteristic zero field in which $q$ is not a root of unity. This generalizes the classification result of Benkart, Britten and Lemire in the non quantum case. We also show that any infinite-dimensional irreducible completely pointed $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1})$ can be obtained from some irreducible completely pointed module over the quantized Weyl algebra $A_{n+1}^q$.
We study the finite-dimensional irreducible representations of the nullity 2 centreless core $\mathfrak{g}_{2n,ρ}(\mathbb{C}_q)$ by investigating the structure of the $\mathrm{BC}_n$-graded Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}_{2n,ρ}(R)$, where $R$ is a unital involutory associative algebra over a field $k$ of characteristic zero.
Let $G$ be a connected reductive algebraic group defined over an algebraically closed field $\mathbbm k$ of characteristic zero. We consider the commuting variety $\mathcal C(\mathfrak u)$ of the nilradical $\mathfrak u$ of the Lie algebra $\mathfrak b$ of a Borel subgroup $B$ of $G$. In case $B$ acts on $\mathfrak u$ with only a finite number of orbits, we verify that $\mathcal C(\mathfrak u)$ is equidimensional and that the irreducible components are in correspondence with the {\em distinguished} $B$-orbits in $\mathfrak u$. We observe that in general $\mathcal C(\mathfrak u)$ is not equidim…
We define an action of the degenerate two boundary braid algebra $\mathcal{G}_d$ on the $\mathbb{C}$-vector space $M\otimes N\otimes V^{\otimes d}$, where $M$ and $N$ are arbitrary modules for the general linear Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(n|m)$, and $V$ is the natural representation. When $M$ and $N$ are parametrized by rectangular hook Young diagrams, this action factors through a quotient $\mathcal{H}^{\operatorname{ext}}_d$. The irreducible summands of $M\otimes N\otimes V^{\otimes d}$ for the centralizer of $\mathfrak{gl}(n|m)$, remain irreducible once regarded as modules for this quo…
Recently Brian Hartwig and the second author found a presentation for the three-point $sl_2$ loop algebra by generators and relations. To obtain this presentation they defined a Lie algebra $\boxtimes$ by generators and relations, and displayed an isomorphism from $\boxtimes$ to the three-point $sl_2$ loop algebra. In this paper we describe the finite-dimensional irreducible $\boxtimes$-modules from multiple points of view.
In \cite{W}, there is a graphic description of any irreducible, finite dimensional $\mathfrak{sl}(3)$ module. This construction, called diamond representation is very simple and can be easily extended to the space of irreducible finite dimensional ${\mathcal U}\_q(\mathfrak{sl}(3))$-modules. In the present work, we generalize this construction to $\mathfrak{sl}(n)$. We show this is in fact a description of the reduced shape algebra, a quotient of the shape algebra of $\mathfrak{sl}(n)$. The basis used in \cite{W} is thus naturally parametrized with the so called quasi standard Young tableaux. …
We introduce the $N=2$ Lie conformal superalgebras ${\frak {K}}(p)$ of Block type, and classify their finite irreducible conformal modules for any nonzero parameter $p$. where $p$ is a nonzero complex number. In particular, we show that such a conformal module admits a nontrivial extension of a finite conformal module $M$ over $K_2$ if $p=-1$ and $M$ has rank $(2+2)$, where $K_2$ is an $N=2$ conformal subalgebra of ${\frak {K}}(p)$. As a byproduct, we obtain the classification of finite irreducible conformal modules over a series of finite Lie conformal superalgebras ${\frak k}(n)$ for $n\ge1$…
In this paper we classify all the cyclic finite dimensional indecomposable\\ modules of the perfect Lie algebras $\mathfrak{sl}(n+1)\ltimes \mathbbm{C}^{n+1}$, given by the semidirect sum of the simple Lie algebra $A_n$ with its standard representation. Furthermore, using the embeddings of the Lie algebras $\mathfrak{sl}(n+1)\ltimes \mathbbm{C}^{n+1}$ in $\mathfrak{sl}(n+2)$, we show that any finite dimensional irreducible module of $\mathfrak{sl}(n+2)$ restricted to $\mathfrak{sl}(n+1)\ltimes \mathbbm{C}^{n+1}$ is a cyclic module and that any cyclic $\mathfrak{sl}(n+1)\ltimes \mathbbm{C}^{n+1…
The equitable presentation of $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ was introduced in 2006 by Ito, Terwilliger, and Weng. This presentation involves some generators $x, y, y^{-1}, z$. It is known that $\{x^r y^s z^t : r, t \in \mathbb{N}, s \in \mathbb{Z}\}$ is a basis for the $\mathbb{K}$-vector space $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$. In 2013, Bockting-Conrad and Terwilliger introduced a subalgebra $\mathcal{A}$ of $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ spanned by the elements $\{x^r y^s z^t : r, s, t \in \mathbb{N}, r+s+t \ {\rm even}\}$. We give a presentation of $\mathcal{A}$ by generators and relations. We also classify up to is…
In the present paper, we introduce a class of infinite Lie conformal superalgebras $\mathcal{S}(p)$, which are closely related to Lie conformal algebras of extended Block type defined in \cite{CHS}. Then all finite non-trivial irreducible conformal modules over $\mathcal{S}(p)$ for $p\in\C^*$ are completely classified. As an application, we also present the classifications of finite non-trivial irreducible conformal modules over finite quotient algebras $\mathfrak{s}(n)$ for $n\geq1$ and $\mathfrak{sh}$ which is isomorphic to a subalgebra of Lie conformal algebra of $N=2$ superconformal algebr…
Assume that $\mathbb F$ is an algebraically closed field and let $q$ denote a nonzero scalar in $\mathbb F$ that is not a root of unity. The universal DAHA (double affine Hecke algebra) $\mathfrak H_q$ of type $(C_1^\vee,C_1)$ is a unital associative $\mathbb F$-algebra defined by generators and relations. The generators are $\{t_i^{\pm 1}\}_{i=0}^3$ and the relations assert that \begin{gather*} t_it_i^{-1}=t_i^{-1} t_i=1 \quad \hbox{for all $i=0,1,2,3$}; \\ \hbox{$t_i+t_i^{-1}$ is central} \quad \hbox{for all $i=0,1,2,3$}; \\ t_0t_1t_2t_3=q^{-1}. \end{gather*} In this paper we describe the fi…
For an irreducible module $P$ over the Weyl algebra $\mathcal{K}_n^+$ (resp. $\mathcal{K}_n$) and an irreducible module $M$ over the general liner Lie algebra $\mathfrak{gl}_n$, using Shen's monomorphism, we make $P\otimes M$ into a module over the Witt algebra $W_n^+$ (resp. over $W_n$). We obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for $P\otimes M$ to be an irreducible module over $W_n^+$ (resp. $W_n$), and determine all submodules of $P\otimes M$ when it is reducible. Thus we have constructed a large family of irreducible weight modules with many different weight supports and many irred…
In earlier work, Barchini, Kable, and Zierau constructed a number of conformally invariant systems of differential operators associated to Heisenberg parabolic subalgebras in simple Lie algebras. The construction was systematic, but the existence of such a system was left open in several anomalous cases. Here, a conformally invariant system is shown to exist in the most interesting of these remaining cases. The construction may also be interpreted as giving an explicit homomorphism between generalized Verma modules for the Lie algebra of type $D_4$.
We classify the finite irreducible modules over the conformal superalgebra $K'_{4}$ by their correspondence with finite conformal modules over the associated annihilation superalgebra $\mathcal A(K'_{4})$. This is achieved by a complete classification of singular vectors in generalized Verma modules for $\mathcal A(K'_{4})$. We also show that morphisms between generalized Verma modules can be arranged in infinitely many bilateral complexes.
The authors proved that a Weyl module for a simple algebraic group is irreducible over every field if and only if the module is isomorphic to the adjoint representation for $E_{8}$ or its highest weight is minuscule. In this paper, we prove an analogous criteria for irreducibility of Weyl modules over the quantum group $U_ζ({\mathfrak g})$ where ${\mathfrak g}$ is a complex simple Lie algebra and $ζ$ ranges over roots of unity.
An irreducible module for the parafermion vertex operator algebra $K(\mathfrak{sl}_2,k)$ is said to be of $σ$-type if an automorphism of the fusion algebra of $K(\mathfrak{sl}_2,k)$ of order $k$ is trivial on it. For any integer $k \ge 3$, we show that there exists an automorphism of order $2$ of the subalgebra of the fusion algebra of $K(\mathfrak{sl}_2,k)^{\langle θ\rangle}$ spanned by the irreducible direct summands of $σ$-type irreducible $K(\mathfrak{sl}_2,k)$-modules, where $θ$ is an involution of $K(\mathfrak{sl}_2,k)$. We discuss some examples of such an automorphism as well.
Let $(G,G')$ be a type I irreducible reductive dual pair in $\mathrm{Sp}(W_{\mathbb{R}})$. We assume that $(G,G')$ is in the stable range where $G$ is the smaller member. Let $K$ and $K'$ be maximal compact subgroups of $G$ and $G'$ respectively. Let $\mathfrak{g} = \mathfrak{k} \oplus \mathfrak{p}$ and $\mathfrak{g}' = \mathfrak{k}' \oplus \mathfrak{p}'$ be the complexified Cartan decompositions of the Lie algebras of $G$ and $G'$ respectively. Let ${\widetilde{K}}$ and ${\widetilde{K}}'$ be the inverse images of $K$ and $K'$ in the metaplectic double cover $\widetilde{\mathrm{Sp}}(W_\mathbb{…
Consider a simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ and $\overline{\mathfrak{g}}% \subset \mathfrak{g}$ a Levi subalgebra. Two irreducible $\overline{% \mathfrak{g}}$-modules yield isomorphic inductions to $\mathfrak{g}$ when their highest weights coincide up to conjugation by an element of the Weyl group $W$ of $\mathfrak{g}$ which is also a Dynkin diagram automorphism of $% \overline{\mathfrak{g}}$. In this paper we study the converse problem: given two irreducible $\overline{\mathfrak{g}}$-modules of highest weight $μ$ and $ν$ whose inductions to $\mathfrak{g}$ are isomorphic, can we conclude that…
In this paper, we give the decomposition into irreducible characters of the restriction to the wreath product $\mathbb{Z}_{p-1} \wr \mathfrak{S}_w$ of any irreducible character of $(\mathbb{Z}_p \rtimes \mathbb{Z}_{p-1}) \wr \mathfrak{S}_w$, where $p$ is any odd prime, $w \geq 0$ is an integer, and $\mathbb{Z}_p$ and $\mathbb{Z}_{p-1}$ denote the cyclic groups of order $p$ and $p-1$ respectively. This answers the question of how to decompose the restrictions to $p$-regular elements of irreducible characters of the symmetric group $\mathfrak{S}_n$ in the $\mathbb{Z}$-basis corresponding to the …
Let $n>1$ be an integer, $α\in{\mathbb C}^n$, $b\in{\mathbb C}$, and $V$ a $\mathfrak{gl}_n$-module. We define a class of weight modules $F^α_{b}(V)$ over $\sl_{n+1}$ using the restriction of modules of tensor fields over the Lie algebra of vector fields on $n$-dimensional torus. In this paper we consider the case $n=2$ and prove the irreducibility of such 5-parameter $\mathfrak{sl}_{3}$-modules $F^α_{b}(V)$ generically. All such modules have infinite dimensional weight spaces and lie outside of the category of Gelfand-Tsetlin modules. Hence, this construction yields new families of irreducibl…
In this paper, we introduce the notion of completely non-trivial module of a Lie conformal algebra. By this notion, we classify all finite irreducible modules of a class of $\mathbb{Z}^+$-graded Lie conformal algebras $\mathcal{L}=\bigoplus_{i=0}^{\infty} \mathbb{C}[\partial]L_i$ satisfying $ [{L_0}_λL_0]=(\partial+2λ)L_0,$ and $[{L_1}_λL_i]\neq 0$ for any $i\in \mathbb{Z}^+$. These Lie conformal algebras include Block type Lie conformal algebra $\mathcal{B}(p)$ and map Virasoro Lie conformal algebra $\mathcal{V}(\mathbb{C}[T])=Vir\otimes \mathbb{C}[T]$. As a result, we show that all non-trivi…
In the paper we consider the problem of computation of characters of relatively integrable irreducible highest weight modules $L$ over finite-dimensional basic Lie superalgebras and over affine Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{g}$. The problems consists of two parts. First, it is the reduction of the problem to the $\overline{\mathfrak{g}}$-module $F(L)$, where $\overline{\mathfrak{g}}$ is the associated to $L$ integral Lie superalgebra and $F(L)$ is an integrable irreducible highest weight $\overline{\mathfrak{g}}$-module. Second, it is the computation of characters of integrable highest weight m…
Assume that $\mathbb F$ is an algebraically closed with characteristic $0$. The Bannai--Ito algebra $\mathfrak{BI}$ is a unital associative $\mathbb F$-algebra generated by $X,Y,Z$ and the relations assert that each of \begin{gather*} \{X,Y\}-Z, \qquad \{Y,Z\}-X, \qquad \{Z,X\}-Y \end{gather*} is central in $\mathfrak{BI}$. In this paper we classify the finite-dimensional irreducible $\mathfrak{BI}$-modules up to isomorphism. As we will see the elements $X,Y,Z$ are not always diagonalizable on finite-dimensional irreducible $\mathfrak{BI}$-modules.
For each integer $t>0$ and each complex simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, we determine the least dimension of an irreducible highest weight representation of $\mathfrak{g}$ whose highest weight has height $t$. As a corollary, we classify all irreducible modules whose dimension equals a product of two primes.
Eigenvalue problems on irreducible $\mathfrak{su}(2)$ modules and their adjoints are considered in the Bargmann, Barut-Girardello and finite difference models. The biorthogonality relations that arise between the corresponding generating functions of the Krawtchouk polynomials are sorted out. A link with Padé approximation is made.
An irreducible weight module of an affine Kac-Moody algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ is called dense if its support is equal to a coset in $\mathfrak{h}^{*}/Q$. Following a conjecture of V. Futorny about affine Kac-Moody algebras $\mathfrak{g}$, an irreducible weight $\mathfrak{g}$-module is dense if and only if it is cuspidal (i.e. not a quotient of an induced module). The conjecture is confirmed for $\mathfrak{g}=A_{2}^{\left(1\right)}$, $A_{3}^{\left(1\right)}$ and$A_{4}^{\left(1\right)}$ and a classification of the supports of the irreducible weight $\mathfrak{g}$-modules obtained. For all $A_{n}^{\…
Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a finite-dimensional simple complex Lie algebra. A layer sum is introduced as the sum of formal exponentials of the distinct weights appearing in an irreducible $\mathfrak{g}$-module. It is argued that the character of every finite-dimensional irreducible $\mathfrak{g}$-module admits a decomposition in terms of layer sums, with only non-negative integer coefficients. Ensuing results include a new approach to the computation of Weyl characters and weight multiplicities, and a closed-form expression for the number of distinct weights in a finite-dimensional irreducible $\ma…
We consider the quantum symmetric pair $(\mathcal{U}_q(\mathfrak{su}(3)), \mathcal{B})$ where $\mathcal{B}$ is a right coideal subalgebra. We prove that all finite-dimensional irreducible representations of $\mathcal{B}$ are weight representations and are characterised by their highest weight and dimension. We show that the restriction of a finite-dimensional irreducible representation of $\mathcal{U}_q(\mathfrak{su}(3))$ to $\mathcal{B}$ decomposes multiplicity free into irreducible representations of $\mathcal{B}$. Furthermore we give explicit expressions for the highest weight vectors in th…
