In the present paper, we construct two classes of non-weight modules $Ω(λ,α,β)\otimes\mathrm{Ind}(M)$ and $\mathcal{M}\big(V,Ω(λ,α,β)\big)$ over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, which are both associated with the modules $Ω(λ,α,β)$.
We present the necessary and sufficient conditions under which modules in these two classes are irreducible and isomorphic, and also show that the irreducible modules in these two classes are new. Finally, we construct non-weight modules $\mathrm{Ind}_{\underline y,λ}(\C_{RS})$ and $\mathrm{Ind}_{\underline z,λ}(\C_{PQ})$ over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra and then apply the established results to give irreducible conditions for $\mathrm{Ind}_{\underline y,λ}(\C_{RS})$ and $\mathrm{Ind}_{\underline z,λ}(\C_{PQ})$.
In this paper, it is proved that all irreducible Harish-Chandra modules over the $\Q$ Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra are of intermediate series (all weight spaces are 1-dimensional).
In this paper, we determine all simple restricted modules over the mirror Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra ${\mathfrak{D}}$, and the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $\bar\mathfrak{D}$ with nonzero level. As applications, we characterize simple Whittaker modules and simple highest weight modules over ${\mathfrak{D}}$. A vertex-algebraic interpretation of our result is the classification of simple weak twisted and untwisted modules over the Heisenberg-Virasoro vertex operator algebras $\mathcal V^{c} \cong V_{Vir}^{c}\otimes M(1)$. We also present a few examples of simple restricted ${\mathfrak{D…
Let $\mathfrak g(G,λ)$ denote the deformed generalized Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra related to a complex parameter $λ\neq-1$ and an additive subgroup $G$ of $\mathbb C$. For a total order on $G$ that is compatible with addition, a Verma module over $\mathfrak g(G,λ)$ is defined. In this paper, we completely determine the irreducibility of these Verma modules.
In this paper, all irreducible weight modules with finite dimensional weight spaces over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra are determined. There are two different classes of them. One class is formed by simple modules of intermediate series, whose weight spaces are all 1-dimensional; the other class consists of the irreducible highest weight modules and lowest weight modules.
In this paper, we consider the modules for the Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra and the W algebra $W(2,2)$. We determine the modules whose restriction to the Cartan subalgebra (modulo center) are free of rank $1$ for the two algebras. We also determine the simplicity of these modules. These modules provide new simple modules for the W algebra $W(2,2)$.
In this paper, we realize polynomial $\H$-modules $Ω(λ,α,β)$ from irreducible twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro modules $\A_{α,β}$. It follows from $\H$-modules $Ω(λ,α,β)$ and $\mathrm{Ind}(M)$ that we obtain a class of natural non-weight tensor product modules $\big(\bigotimes_{i=1}^mΩ(λ_i,α_i,β_i)\big)\otimes \mathrm{Ind}(M)$. Then we give the necessary and sufficient conditions under which these modules are irreducible and isomorphic, and also give that the irreducible modules in this class are new.
Let $\preceq$ be a compatible total order on the additive group $\mathbb{Z}^2$, and $L$ be the rank two Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra. For any $\mathbf{c}=(c_1,c_2,c_3,c_4) \in \mathbb{C}^4$, we define $\mathbb{Z}^2$-graded Verma module $M(\mathbf{c}, \preceq)$ for the Lie algebra $L$. A necessary and sufficient condition for the Verma module $M(\mathbf{c}, \preceq)$ to be irreducible is provided. Moreover, the maximal $\mathbb{Z}^2$-graded submodules of the Verma module $M(\mathbf{c}, \preceq)$ are characterized when $M(\mathbf{c}, \preceq)$ is reducible.
In this paper, we study irreducible weight modules with infinite dimensional weight spaces over the mirror-twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $\mathcal{D}$. More precisely, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the tensor products of irreducible highest weight modules and irreducible modules of intermediates series over $\mathcal{D}$ to be irreducible are determined by using "shifting technique". This leads to a family of new irreducible weight modules over $\mathcal{D}$. Then we obtain that any two such tensor products are isomorphic if and only if the corresponding highest weight modu…
In this paper, we obtain a class of $\mathbb{Z}$-graded conformal algebras which is induced by Heisenberg-Virasoro conformal algebra. More precisely, we classify $\mathbb{Z}$-graded conformal algebras $\mathcal{A} = \oplus^\infty_{i=-1}\mathcal{A}_i$ satisfying the following conditions, (C1) $\mathcal{A}_0$ is the Heisenberg-Virasoro conformal algebra; C2) Each $\mathcal{A}_i$ for $i\in\mathbb{Z}_{\ge-1}^*$ is an $\mathcal{A}_0$-module of rank one; (C3) $[{X_{-1}}_λX_i]\neq 0$ for $i\ge 0$, where $X_i$ is any one of $\mathbb{C}[\partial]$-generators of $\mathcal{A}_i$ for $i\in \mathbb{Z}_{\ge…
In this paper, we first obtain a general result on sufficient conditions for tensor product modules to be simple over an arbitrary Lie algebra. We classify simple modules with a nice property over the infinite-dimensional Heisenberg algebra ${\H}$, and then obtain a lot of simple modules over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $\LL$ from generalized oscillator representations of $\LL$ by extending these $\H$-modules. We give the necessary and sufficient conditions for Whittaker modules over $\LL$ (in the more general setting) to be simple. We use the "shifting technique" to determine the …
We define Whittaker modules for the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra and obtain analogues to several results from the classical setting, including a classification of simple Whittaker modules by central characters.
2-local derivation is a generalized derivation for a Lie algebra, which plays an important role to the study of local properties of the structure of the Lie algebra. In this paper, we prove that every 2-local derivation on the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra is a derivation.
We describe the structure of the irreducible highest weight modules for the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro Lie algebra at level zero. We prove that such a module is either isomorphic to a Verma module or to a quotient of two Verma modules.
The work is devoted to a probably new connection between deformed Virasoro algebra and quantum $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$. We give an explicit realization of Virasoro current via vertex operators of level 1 integrable representation of $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$. The same is done for a twisted version of deformed Virasoro algebra.
In this paper, we study irreducible non-weight modules over the mirror Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $\mathcal{D}$, including Whittaker modules, $\mathcal{U}(\mathbb{C} d_0)$-free modules, and their tensor products. More precisely, we give the necessary and sufficient conditions for the Whittaker modules to be irreducible. We determine all $\mathcal{D}$-module structures on $\mathcal{U}(\mathbb{C} d_0)$, and find the necessary and sufficient conditions for these modules to be irreducible. At last we determine the necessary and sufficient conditions for the tensor products of Whittaker modules an…
We show that the support of an irreducible weight module over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, which has an infinite dimensional weight space, coincides with the weight lattice and that all nontrivial weight spaces of such a module are infinite dimensional. As a corollary, we obtain that every irreducible weight module over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, having a nontrivial finite dimensional weight space, is a Harish-Chandra module (and hence is either an irreducible highest or lowest weight module or an irreducible module from the intermediate series
In this paper, we classify all indecomposable Harish-Chandra modules of the intermediate series over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra. Meanwhile, some bosonic modules are also studied.
It is shown that the support of an irreducible weight module over the Schrödinger-Virasoro Lie algebra with an infinite-dimensional weight space, coincides with the weight lattice and that all nontrivial weight spaces of such a module are infinite-dimensional. As a side-product, it is obtained that every simple weight module over the Schrödinger-Virasoro Lie algebra with a nontrivial finite-dimensional weight space, is a Harish-Chandra module.
For any additive subgroup $G$ of an arbitrary field $F$ of characteristic zero, there corresponds a generalized Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $L[G]$. Given a total order of $G$ compatible with its group structure, and any $h,h_I,c,c_I,c_{LI}\in F$, a Verma module $M(h,h_I,c,c_I,c_{LI})$ over $L[G]$ is defined. In the this note, the irreducibility of Verma modules $M(h,h_I,c,c_I,c_{LI})$ is completely determined.
We prove that for simple complex finite dimensional Lie algebras, affine Kac-Moody Lie algebras, the Virasoro algebra and the Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, simple highest weight modules are characterized by the property that all positive root elements act on these modules locally nilpotently. We also show that this is not the case for higher rank Virasoro and for Heisenberg algebras.
We study the representation theory of the N=1 super Heisenberg-Virasoro vertex algebra at level zero, which extends the previous work on the Heisenberg-Virasoro vertex algebra arXiv:math/0201314, arXiv:1405.1707 and arXiv:1703.00531 to the super case. We calculated all characters of irreducible highest weight representations by investigating certain Fock space representations. Quite surprisingly, we found that the maximal submodules of certain Verma modules are generated by subsingular vectors. The formulas for singular and subsingular vectors are obtained using screening operators appearing i…
This paper studies restricted modules of gap-$p$ Virasoro algebra $Ł$ and their intrinsic connection to twisted modules of certain vertex algebras. We first establish an equivalence between the category of restricted $Ł$-modules of level $\el$ and the category of twisted modules of vertex algebra $V_{\mathcal{N}_{p}}(\el,0)$, where $\mathcal{N}_{p}$ is a new Lie algebra, $\el:=(\ell_{0},0,\cdots,0)\in\C^{\halfp+1}$, $\ell_{0}\in\C$ is the action of the Virasoro center. Then we focus on the construction and classification of simple restricted $Ł$-modules of level $\el$. More explicitly, we give…
We show that subsingular vectors exist in Verma modules over W(2,2), and present a subquotient structure of these modules. We prove conditions for irreducibility of a tensor product of intermediate series module with the highest weight module. Relations to intertwining operators over vertex operator algebra associated to W(2,2) is discussed. Also, we study a tensor product of intermediate series and highest weight module over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, and present series of irreducible modules with infinite-dimensional weight spaces.
We investigate the free fields realization of the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $\mathcal{H}$ at level zero. We completely describe the structure of the associated Fock representations. Using vertex-algebraic methods and screening operators we construct singular vectors in certain Verma modules as Schur polynomials. We completely solve the irreducibility problem for tensor product of irreducible highest weight modules with intermediate series. We also determine the fusion rules for an interesting subcategory of $\mathcal{H}$-modules. Finally, as an application we present a free field rea…
The Lie algebra $sl_2 ( \mathbb{C} )$ may be regarded in a natural way as a subalgebra of the infinite-dimensional Virasoro Lie algebra, and this suggests there may be connections between the representation theory of the two algebras. In this paper, we explore the restriction to $sl_2 ( \mathbb{C} )$ of certain induced modules for the Virasoro algebra. Specifically, we consider Virasoro modules induced from so-called polynomial subalgebras, and we show that the restriction of these modules results in twisted versions of familiar modules such as Verma modules and Whittaker modules.
This paper is a continuation of arXiv:1405.1707. We present certain new applications and generalizations of the free field realization of the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra ${\mathcal H}$ at level zero. We find explicit formulas for singular vectors in certain Verma modules. A free field realization of self-dual modules for ${\mathcal H}$ is presented by combining a bosonic construction of Whittaker modules from arXiv:1409.5354 with a construction of logarithmic modules for vertex algebras. As an application, we prove that there exists a non-split self-extension of irreducible self-dual m…
We prove that any irreducible Harish-Chandra modules for a class of Lie algebras, which we call gap-$p$ Virasoro algebras, must be a highest weight module, a lowest weight module, or a module of intermediate series. These algebras are closely related to the Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra and the algebra of derivations over a quantum torus. They also contain subalgebras which are isomorphic to the Virasoro algebra $Vir$, but graded by $p\mathbb Z$(unlike $Vir$ by $\mathbb Z$).
We show that the trace decategorification, or zeroth Hochschild homology, of the twisted Heisenberg category defined by Cautis and Sussan is isomorphic to a quotient of $W^-$, a subalgebra of $W_{1+\infty}$ defined by Kac, Wang, and Yan. Our result is a twisted analogue of that by Cautis, Lauda, Licata, and Sussan relating $W_{1+\infty}$ and the trace decategorification of the Heisenberg category.
The aim of this paper is to obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the orthonormality of wavelet system arising out of left translations and nonisotropic dilations on the Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}$. A similar problem is also discussed for the twisted wavelet system on $\mathbb{C}$.
We introduce a twisted version of the Heisenberg double, constructed from a twisted Hopf algebra and a twisted Hopf pairing. We state a Stone--von Neumann type theorem for a natural Fock space representation of this twisted Heisenberg double and deduce the effect on the algebra of shifting the product and coproduct of the original twisted Hopf algebra. We conclude by showing that the quantum Weyl algebra, quantum Heisenberg algebras, and lattice Heisenberg algebras are all examples of the general construction.
We construct weak (i.e. non-graded) modules over the vertex operator algebra $M(1)^+$, which is the fixed-point subalgebra of the higher rank free bosonic (Heisenberg) vertex operator algebra with respect to the $-1$ automorphism. These weak modules are constructed from Whittaker modules for the higher rank Heisenberg algebra. We prove that the modules are simple as weak modules over $M(1)^+$ and calculate their Whittaker type when regarded as modules for the Virasoro Lie algebra. Lastly, we show that any Whittaker module for the Virasoro Lie algebra occurs in this way. These results are a hig…
We construct the bosonization of the Fock space $\mathit{F^{\otimes \frac{1}{2}}}$ of a single neutral fermion by using a 2-point local Heisenberg field. We decompose the Fock space $\mathit{F^{\otimes \frac{1}{2}}}$ as a direct sum of irreducible highest weight modules for the Heisenberg algebra $\mathcal{H}_{\mathbb{Z}}$, and thus we show that under the Heisenberg $\mathcal{H}_{\mathbb{Z}}$ action the Fock space $\mathit{F^{\otimes \frac{1}{2}}}$ of the single neutral fermion is isomorphic to the Fock space $\mathit{F^{\otimes 1}}$ of a pair of charged free fermions, thereby constructing the…
We establish an isomorphism between the center of the twisted Heisenberg category and the subalgebra of the symmetric functions $Γ$ generated by odd power sums. We give a graphical description of the factorial Schur $Q$-functions as closed diagrams in the twisted Heisenberg category and show that the bubble generators of the center correspond to two sets of generators of $Γ$ which encode data related to up/down transition functions on the Schur graph. Finally, we describe an action of the trace of the twisted Heisenberg category, the $W$-algebra $W^-\subset W_{1+\infty}$, on $Γ$.
We study ${\mathbb Z}$-graded thread $W^+$-modules $$V=\oplus_i V_i, \; \dim{V_i}=1, -\infty \le k< i < N\le +\infty, \; \dim{V_i}=0, \; {\rm \; otherwise},$$ over the positive part $W^+$ of the Witt (Virasoro) algebra $W$. There is well-known example of infinite-dimensional ($k=-\infty, N=\infty$) two-parametric family $V_{λ, μ}$ of $W^+$-modules induced by the twisted $W$-action on tensor densities $P(x)x^μ(dx)^{-λ}, μ, λ\in {\mathbb K}, P(x) \in {\mathbb K}[t]$. Another family $C_{α, β}$ of $W^+$-modules is defined by the action of two multiplicative generators $e_1, e_2$ of $W^+$ as $e_1f_…
We prove that the induced representation from a non trivial character of the Coxeter torus of GL$(2,F)$, for a finite field $F$, is multiplicity-free; we give an explicit description of the corresponding (twisted) spherical functions and a version of the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle.
We show that the Grothendieck groups of the categories of finitely-generated graded supermodules and finitely-generated projective graded supermodules over a tower of graded superalgebras satisfying certain natural conditions give rise to twisted Hopf algebras that are twisted dual. Then, using induction and restriction functors coming from such towers, we obtain a categorification of the twisted Heisenberg double and its Fock space representation. We show that towers of wreath product algebras (in particular, the tower of Sergeev superalgebras) and the tower of nilcoxeter graded superalgebras…
The aim of the paper is to study modules for the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $\mathcal H$ at level zero as modules for the $W(2,2)$-algebra by using construction from [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 219 (2015), 4322-4342, arXiv:1405.1707]. We prove that the irreducible highest weight ${\mathcal H}$-module is irreducible as $W(2,2)$-module if and only if it has a typical highest weight. Finally, we construct a screening operator acting on the Heisenberg-Virasoro vertex algebra whose kernel is exactly $W(2,2)$ vertex algebra.
For each Drinfeld-Sokolov integrable hierarchy associated to affine Kac-Moody algebra, we obtain a uniform construction of tau function by using tau-symmetric Hamiltonian densities, moreover, we represent its Virasoro symmetries as linear/nonlinear actions on the tau function. The relations between the tau function constructed in this paper and those defined for particular cases of Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchies in the literature are clarified. We also show that, whenever the affine Kac-Moody algebra is simply-laced or twisted, the tau functions of the Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy coincide with th…
We motivate and prove a series of identities which form a generalization of the Euler's pentagonal number theorem, and are closely related to specialized Macdonald's identities for powers of the Dedekind $η$--function. More precisely, we show that what we call ``denominator formula'' for the Virasoro algebra has ``higher analogue'' for all $c_{s,t}$-minimal models. We obtain one identity per series which is in agreement with features of conformal field theory such as {\em fusion} and {\em modular invariance} that require all the irreducible modules of the series. In particular, in the case of …
In this paper, we introduce a class of infinite Lie conformal algebras $\mathfrak{B}(α,β,p)$, which are the semi-direct sums of Block type Lie conformal algebra $\mathfrak{B}(p)$ and its non-trivial conformal modules of $\Z$-graded free intermediate series. The annihilation algebras are a class of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras, which include a lot of interesting subalgebras: Virasoro algebra, Block type Lie algebra, twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra and so on. We give a complete classification of all finite non-trivial irreducible conformal modules of $\mathfrak{B}(α,β,p)$ for $α,β\in\C,…
We present a bilocal isomorphism between the algebra generated by a single real twisted boson field and the algebra of the boson $βγ$ ghost system. As a consequence of this twisted vertex algebra isomorphism we show that each of these two algebras possesses both an untwisted and a twisted Heisenberg bosonic currents, as well as three separate families of Virasoro fields. We show that this bilocal isomorphism generalizes to an isomorphism between the algebra generated by the twisted boson field with $2n$ points of localization and the algebra of the $2n$ symplectic bosons.
