The present work studies one of Einstein's alternative formulations based on the non-metricity scalar $Q$ generalized as $f(Q)$ theory. More specifically, we consider the power-law form of $f(Q)$ gravity i.e. $f(Q)=Q+α\, Q^n$. Here, we analyze the behavior of the cosmological model at the background and perturbation level. At the background level, we find the effective evolution of the model is the same as that of the $Λ$CDM for $|n|<1$. Interestingly, the geometric component of the theory solely determined the late-time acceleration of the Universe. We also examine the integrability of the model by employing the method of singularity analysis. In particular, we find the conditions under which field equations pass the Painlevé test and hence possess the Painlevé property. While the equations pass the Painlevé test in the presence of dust for any value of $n$, the test is valid after the addition of radiation fluid only for $n<1$. Finally, at the perturbation level, the behavior of matter growth index signifies a deviation of the model from the $Λ$CDM even for $|n|<1$.
We place tight constraints on the growth index $γ$ by using the recent growth history results of 2dFGRS, SDSS-LRG, VIMOS-VLT deep Survey (VVDS) and {\em WiggleZ} datasets. In particular, we investigate several parametrizations of the growth index $γ(z)$, by comparing their cosmological evolution using observational growth rate data at different redshifts. Utilizing a standard likelihood analysis we find that the use of the combined growth data provided by the 2dFGRS, SDSS-LRG, VVDS and {\em WiggleZ} galaxy surveys, puts the most stringent constraints on the value of the growth index. As an exa…
We have put forward a new unified framework which provides a consistent and rather complete account of the growth index of matter perturbations in the regime where the dark energy is allowed to have clustering. In particular, we find that the growth index is not only affected by the cosmological parameters but rather it depends on the choice of the considered dark energy (homogeneous or clustered). Using the {\em Planck} priors and performing a standard $χ^2$-minimization between theoretical expectations and growth data, we statistically quantify the ability of the growth index to represent th…
We obtain the exact analytic form of the growth index at present epoch ($a=1$) in a flat universe with the cosmological constant ({\it i.e.} the dark energy with its equation of state $ω_{de} = -1$). For the cosmological constant, we obtain the exact value of the current growth index parameter $γ= 0.5547$, which is very close to the well known value 6/11. We also obtain the exact analytic solution of the growth factor for $ω_{de}$ = -1/3 or -1. We investigate the growth index and its parameter at any epoch with this exact solution. In addition to this, we are able to find the exact $Ω_{m}^{0}$…
Recently, some efforts focus on differentiating dark energy and modified gravity with the growth function $δ(z)$. In the literature, it is useful to parameterize the growth rate $f\equiv d\lnδ/d\ln a=Ω_m^γ$ with the growth index $γ$. In this note, we consider the general DGP model with any $Ω_k$. We confront the growth index of DGP model with currently available growth rate data and find that the DGP model is still consistent with it. This implies that more and better growth rate data are required to distinguish between dark energy and modified gravity.
We use the clustering properties of Luminous Red Galaxies (LRGs) and the growth rate data provided by the various galaxy surveys in order to constrain the growth index ($γ$) of the linear matter fluctuations. We perform a standard $χ^2$-minimization procedure between theoretical expectations and data, followed by a joint likelihood analysis and we find a value of $γ=0.56\pm 0.05$, perfectly consistent with the expectations of the $Λ$CDM model, and $Ω_{m0} =0.29\pm 0.01$, in very good agreement with the latest Planck results. Our analysis provides significantly more stringent growth index const…
Rastall gravity theory shows notable features consistent with physical observations in comparison to the standard Einstein theory. Recently, there has been a debate about the equivalence of Rastall gravity and general relativity. Motivated by this open issue, in the present work, we attempt to shed some light on this debate by analyzing the evolution of the Rastall based cosmological model at the background as well as perturbation level. Employing the dynamical system techniques, we found that at late times, the dynamics of the model resembles the $Λ$CDM model at the background level irrespect…
Three decades ago Heath found the integral form of the exact analytic growing mode solution of the linear density perturbation $δ$ on sub-horizon scales including the cosmological constant or the curvature term. Recently, we obtained the exact analytic form of this solution in our previous work \cite{SK}. Interestingly, we are able to extend this solution for general dark energy models with the constant equation of state $ω_{de}$ in a flat universe. This analytic solution provides the accurate and efficient tools for probing the properties of dark energy models such as the behavior of the grow…
In this work the growth of density perturbations in Kantowski-Sachs cosmologies with a positive cosmological constant is studied, using the 1+3 and 1+1+2 covariant formalisms. For each wave number we obtain a closed system for scalars formed from quantities that are zero on the background and hence are gauge-invariant. The solutions to this system are then analyzed both analytically and numerically. In particular the effects of anisotropy and the behaviour close to a bounce in the cosmic scale factor are considered. We find that typically the density gradient in the bouncing directions experie…
We derive the analytic formula of the growth index for $f(R)$ dark energy model where the effect on the growth of matter density perturbation $δ_m$ from modified gravity (MG) is encoded in the effective Newton coupling constant $G_{\rm eff}$ in MG (or equivalently $g\equiv {G_{\rm eff}/ G}$). Based on the analytic formula, we propose that the parameter $g$ can be directly figured out by comparing the observed growth rate $f_g\equiv d\lnδ_m/d\ln a$ to the prediction of $f_g$ in general relativity.
We derive for the first time the growth index of matter perturbations of the FLRW flat cosmological models in which the vacuum energy depends on redshift. A particularly well motivated model of this type is the so-called quantum field vacuum, in which apart from a leading constant term $Λ_0$ there is also a $H^{2}$-dependence in the functional form of vacuum, namely $Λ(H)=Λ_{0}+3ν(H^{2}-H^{2}_{0})$. Since $|ν|\ll1$ this form endows the vacuum energy of a mild dynamics which affects the evolution of the main cosmological observables at the background and perturbation levels. Specifically, at th…
We propose a parametrization for the growth index of the linear matter perturbations, $γ(z)=γ_0+\frac{z}{1+z}γ_1$. The growth factor of the perturbations parameterized as $Ω_m^γ$ is analyzed for both the $w$CDM model and the DGP model with our proposed form for $γ$. We find that $γ_1$ is negative for the $w$CDM model but is positive for the DGP model. Thus it provides another signature to discriminate them. We demonstrate that $Ω_m^γ$ with $γ$ taking our proposed form approximates the growth factor very well both at low and high redshfits for both kinds of models. In fact, the error is below 0…
We study the main cosmological properties of the agegraphic dark energy model at the expansion and perturbation levels. Initially, using the latest cosmological data we implement a joint likelihood analysis in order to constrain the cosmological parameters. Then we test the performance of the agegraphic dark energy model at the perturbation level and we define its difference from the usual $Λ$CDM model. Within this context, we verify that the growth index of matter fluctuations depends on the choice of the considered agegraphic dark energy (homogeneous or clustered). In particular, assuming a …
We use current and future simulated data of the growth rate of large scale structure in combination with data from supernova, BAO, and CMB surface measurements, in order to put constraints on the growth index parameters. We use a recently proposed parameterization of the growth index that interpolates between a constant value at high redshifts and a form that accounts for redshift dependencies at small redshifts. We also suggest here another exponential parameterization with a similar behaviour. The redshift dependent parametrizations provide a sub-percent precision level to the numerical grow…
Evolution of a background space-time metric and sub-horizon matter density perturbations in the Universe is numerically analyzed in viable $f(R)$ models of present dark energy and cosmic acceleration. It is found that viable models generically exhibit recent crossing of the phantom boundary $w_{\rm DE}=-1$. Furthermore, it is shown that, as a consequence of the anomalous growth of density perturbations during the end of the matter-dominated stage, their growth index evolves non-monotonically with time and may even become negative temporarily.
Probes of cosmic expansion constitute the main basis for arguments to support or refute a possible apparent acceleration due to different expansion rates in the universe as described by inhomogeneous cosmological models. We present in this Letter a separate argument based on results from an analysis of the growth rate of large-scale structure in the universe as modeled by the inhomogeneous cosmological models of Szekeres. We use the models with no assumptions of spherical or axial symmetries. We find that while the Szekeres models can fit very well the observed expansion history without a $Λ$,…
We re-examine the growth index of the concordance $Λ$ cosmology in the light of the latest 6dF and {\em WiggleZ} data. In particular, we investigate five different models for the growth index $γ$, by comparing their cosmological evolution using observational data of the growth rate of structure formation at different redshifts. Performing a joint likelihood analysis of the recent supernovae type Ia data, the Cosmic Microwave Background shift parameter, Baryonic Acoustic Oscillations and the growth rate data, we determine the free parameters of the $γ(z)$ parametrizations and we statistically q…
The gravitational growth index formalism provides a model independent way to look for deviations from general relativity by testing dark energy physics distinct from its effects on the cosmic expansion history. Here we extend the approach to incorporate an early time parameter g_star in addition to the growth index in describing the growth of large scale structure. We illustrate its utility for models with modified gravity at high redshift, early acceleration, or early dark energy. Future data will have the capability to constrain the dark energy equation of state, the growth index gamma, and …
We evaluate the observational constraints on the spectral index $n$, in the context of the $Λ$CDM hypothesis which represents the simplest viable cosmology. We first take $n$ to be practically scale-independent. Ignoring reionization, we find at a nominal 2-$σ$ level $n\simeq 1.0 \pm 0.1$. If we make the more realisitic assumption that reionization occurs when a fraction $f\sim 10^{-5}$ to 1 of the matter has collapsed, the 2-$σ$ lower bound is unchanged while the 1-$σ$ bound rises slightly. These constraints are compared with the prediction of various inflation models. Then we investigate the…
We use the Szekeres inhomogeneous cosmological models to study the growth of large-scale structure in the universe including nonzero spatial curvature and a cosmological constant. In particular, we use the Goode and Wainwright formulation, as in this form the models can be considered to represent exact nonlinear perturbations of an averaged background. We identify a density contrast in both classes I and II of the models, for which we derive growth evolution equations. By including Lambda, the time evolution of the density contrast as well as kinematic quantities can be tracked through the mat…
The exact nature of dark energy is currently unknown and its cosmological perturbations, when dark energy is assumed not to be the cosmological constant, are usually modeled as adiabatic. Here we explore the possibility that dark energy might have a nonadiabatic component and we examine how it would affect several key cosmological observables. We present analytical solutions for the growth rate and growth index of matter density perturbations and compare them to both numerical solutions of the fluid equations and an implementation in the Boltzmann code CLASS, finding that they all agree to wel…
In this work we revisit the growth of small primordial black holes (PBHs) immersed in a quintessential field and/or radiation to the supermassive black hole (SMBHs) scale. We show the difficulties of scenarios in which such huge growth is possible. For that purpose we evaluated analytical solutions of the differential equations (describing mass evolution) and point out the strong fine tuning for that conclusions. The timescale for growth in a model with a constant quintessence flux is calculated and we show that it is much bigger than the Hubble time. The fractional gain of the mass is further …
The accelerated cosmic expansion could be due to dark energy within general relativity (GR), or modified gravity. It is of interest to differentiate between them, by using both the expansion history and the growth history. In the literature, it was proposed that the growth index $γ$ is useful to distinguish these two scenarios. In this work, we consider the non-parametric reconstruction of the growth index $γ$ as a function of redshift $z$ from the latest observational data as of July 2018 via Gaussian Processes. We find that $f(R)$ theories and dark energy models within GR (especially $Λ$CDM)…
We make a consistency test for the general relativity (GR) through measuring the growth index $γ$ in a universe with massive (sterile/active) neutrinos. We employ the redshift space distortion measurements to do the analysis. To constrain other cosmological parameters, we also use other cosmological measurements, including the Planck 2015 cosmic microwave background temperature and polarization data, the baryon acoustic oscillation data, the type Ia supernova JLA data, the weak lensing galaxy shear data, and the Planck 2015 lensing data. In a universe with massive sterile neutrinos, we obtain …
We propose two improved parameterized form for the growth index of the linear matter perturbations: (I) $γ(z)=γ_0+(γ_{\infty}-γ_0){z\over z+1}$ and (II) $γ(z)=γ_0+γ_1 \frac{z}{z+1}+(γ_{\infty}-γ_1-γ_0)(\frac{z}{z+1})^α$. With these forms of $γ(z)$, we analyze the accuracy of the approximation the growth factor $f$ by $Ω^{γ(z)}_m$ for both the $ω$CDM model and the DGP model. For the first improved parameterized form, we find that the approximation accuracy is enhanced at the high redshifts for both kinds of models, but it is not at the low redshifts. For the second improved parameterized form, …
We compute the circuit complexity of scalar curvature perturbations on FLRW cosmological backgrounds with fixed equation of state $w$ using the language of squeezed vacuum states. Backgrounds that are accelerating and expanding, or decelerating and contracting, exhibit features consistent with chaotic behavior, including linearly growing complexity. Remarkably, we uncover a bound on the growth of complexity for both expanding and contracting backgrounds $λ\leq \sqrt{2} \ |H|$, similar to other bounds proposed independently in the literature. The bound is saturated for expanding backgrounds wit…
In this paper, we consider the singular isothermal sphere lensing model that has a spherically symmetric power-law mass distribution $ρ_{tot}(r)\sim r^{-γ}$. We investigate whether the mass density power-law index $γ$ is cosmologically evolutionary by using the strong gravitational lensing (SGL) observation, in combination with other cosmological observations. We also check whether the constraint result of $γ$ is affected by the cosmological model, by considering several simple dynamical dark energy models. We find that the constraint on $γ$ is mainly decided by the SGL observation and indepen…
A single parameter, the gravitational growth index γ, succeeds in characterizing the growth of density perturbations in the linear regime separately from the effects of the cosmic expansion. The parameter is restricted to a very narrow range for models of dark energy obeying the laws of general relativity but takes on distinctly different values in models of beyond-Einstein gravity. In analogy to the parameterized post-Newtonian (PPN) formalism for testing gravity, we extend and motivate the gravitational growth index, or Minimal Modified Gravity, approach to parameterizing beyond-Einstein cos…
Consistency tests for the general relativity (GR) can be performed by constraining the growth index $γ$ using the measurements of redshift-space distortions (RSD) in conjunction with other observations. In previous studies, deviations from the GR expected value of $γ\approx 0.55$ at the 2--3$σ$ level were found. In this work, we reconsider the measurement of $γ$ in a universe with sterile neutrinos. We constrain the sterile neutrino cosmological model using the RSD measurements combined with the cosmic microwave background data (Planck temperature data plus WMAP 9-yr polarization data), the ba…
This is the third of a series of papers in which we derive simultaneous constraints on cosmological parameters and X-ray scaling relations using observations of the growth of massive, X-ray flux-selected galaxy clusters. Our data set consists of 238 clusters drawn from the ROSAT All-Sky Survey, and incorporates extensive follow-up observations using the Chandra X-ray Observatory. Here we present improved constraints on departures from General Relativity (GR) on cosmological scales, using the growth index, gamma, to parameterize the linear growth rate of cosmic structure. Using the method of Ma…
The growth of matter perturbations in the $f(R)$ model proposed by Starobinsky is studied in this paper. Three different parametric forms of the growth index are considered respectively and constraints on the model are obtained at both the $1σ$ and $2σ$ confidence levels, by using the current observational data for the growth factor. It is found, for all the three parametric forms of the growth index examined, that the Starobinsky model is consistent with the observations only at the $2σ$ confidence level.
We analyze the global behaviour of the growth index of cosmic inhomogeneities in an isotropic homogeneous universe filled by cold non-relativistic matter and dark energy (DE) with an arbitrary equation of state. Using a dynamical system approach, we find the critical points of the system. That unique trajectory for which the growth index $γ$ is finite from the asymptotic past to the asymptotic future is identified as the so-called heteroclinic orbit connecting the critical points $(Ω_m=0,~γ_{\infty})$ in the future and $(Ω_m=1,~γ_{-\infty})$ in the past. The first is an attractor while the sec…
The growth rate of matter perturbations can be used to distinguish between different gravity theories and to distinguish between dark energy and modified gravity at cosmological scales as an explanation to the observed cosmic acceleration. We suggest here parameterizations of the growth index as functions of the redshift. The first one is given by $γ(a)=\tildeγ(a) \frac{1}{1+(a_{_{ttc}}/a)}+γ_{_{early}} \frac{1}{1+(a/a_{_{ttc}})}$ that interpolates between a low/intermediate redshift parameterization $\tildeγ(a)=γ_{_{late}}(a)= γ_0 + (1-a) γ_a$ and a high redshift $γ_{_{early}}$ constant value…
In this paper we characterize barotropic index singularities of homogeneous isotropic cosmological models. They are shown to appear in cosmologies for which the scale factor is analytical with a Taylor series in which the linear and quadratic terms are absent. Though the barotropic index of the perfect fluid is singular, the singularities are weak, as it happens for other models for which the density and the pressure are regular.
For a large class of dark energy (DE) models, for which the effective gravitational constant is a constant and there is no direct exchange of energy between DE and dark matter (DM), knowledge of the expansion history suffices to reconstruct the growth factor of linearized density perturbations in the non-relativistic matter component on scales much smaller than the Hubble distance. In this paper we develop a non-parametric method for extracting information about the perturbative growth factor from data pertaining to the luminosity or angular size distances. A comparison of the reconstructed de…
We study how the cosmological constraints from growth data are improved by including the measurements of bias from Dark Energy Survey (DES). In particular, we utilize the biasing properties of the DES Luminous Red Galaxies (LRGs) and the growth data provided by the various galaxy surveys in order to constrain the growth index ($γ$) of the linear matter perturbations. Considering a constant growth index we can put tight constraints, up to $\sim 10\%$ accuracy, on $γ$. Specifically, using the priors of the Dark Energy Survey and implementing a joint likelihood procedure between theoretical expec…
In the literature, it was proposed that the growth index $γ$ is useful to distinguish the scenarios of dark energy and modified gravity. In the present work, we consider the constraints on the growth index $γ$ by using the latest observational data. To be model-independent, we use cosmography to describe the cosmic expansion history, and also expand the general $γ(z)$ as a Taylor series with respect to redshift $z$ or $y$-shift, $y=z/(1+z)$. We find that the present value $γ_0=γ(z=0)\simeq 0.42$ (for most of viable $f(R)$ theories) is inconsistent with the latest observational data at high con…
We extend semiclassical methods in inflationary cosmology that capture leading IR corrections to correlators. Such large IR effects can be absorbed into a coordinate change when examining sufficiently local observables, but not when comparing observations at large separation in scales, such as seen by a late-time observer. The analysis is facilitated by definition of a scale-dependent metric and physical momentum. These assist definition of "IR-safe" observables seen by a post-inflationary observer, which are contrasted to those based on the local geometry of the reheating surface. For such ob…
This study belongs to a series devoted to using Szekeres inhomogeneous models to develop a theoretical framework where observations can be investigated with a wider range of possible interpretations. We look here into the growth of large-scale structure in the models. The Szekeres models are exact solutions to Einstein's equations that were originally derived with no symmetries. We use a formulation of the models that is due to Goode and Wainwright, who considered the models as exact perturbations of an FLRW background. Using the Raychaudhuri equation, we write for the two classes of the model…
We study for the first time the dynamical properties and the growth index of linear matter perturbations of the Finsler-Randers (FR) cosmological model, for which we consider that the cosmic fluid contains matter, radiation and a scalar field. Initially, for various FR scenarios we implement a critical point analysis and we find solutions which provide cosmic acceleration and under certain circumstances we can have de-Sitter points as stable late-time attractors. Then we derive the growth index of matter fluctuations in various Finsler-Randers cosmologies. Considering cold dark matter and negl…
Using some supernovae and CMB data, we constrain the Cardassian, Randall-Sundrum, and Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati brane-inspired cosmological models. We show that a transient acceleration and an early loitering period are usually excluded by the data. Moreover, the three models are equivalent to some usual quintessence/ghost dark energy models defined by a barotropic index $γ_ϕ$ depending on the redshift. We calculate this index for each model and show that they mimic a universe close to a $ΛCDM$ model today.
I look at the growth of weak density inhomogeneities of nonrelativistic matter, in bimetric-MOND (BIMOND) cosmology. I concentrate on matter-twin-matter-symmetric versions of BIMOND, and assume that, on average, the universe is symmetrically populated in the two sectors. MOND effects are absent in an exactly symmetric universe, apart from the appearance of a cosmological constant, Lambda~(a0/c)^2. MOND effects-local and cosmological-do enter when density inhomogeneities that differ in the two sectors appear and develop. MOND later takes its standard form in systems that are islands dominated b…
Under the commonly used assumption that clumped objects can be well described by a spherical top-hat matter density profile, we investigate the evolution of the cosmic growth index in clustering dark energy (CDE) scenarios on sub-horizon scales. We show that the evolution of the growth index $γ(z)$ strongly depends on the equation-of-state (EoS) parameter and on the clustering properties of the dark energy (DE) component. Performing a $χ^2$ analysis, we show that CDE models have a better fit to observational growth rate data points with respect to the concordance $Λ$CDM model. We finally deter…
In this manuscript, we studied the accelerated expansion history of the universe and the formations of large-scale structures using $f(Q)$ gravity model. The expansion rate of the universe within distance modulus and redshift has been performed in $f(Q)$ gravity. This work is also devoted to investigating the linear cosmological perturbations in the $f(Q)$ gravity model using the $1 + 3$ covariant formalism. The scalar and harmonic decomposition techniques are applied to find the evolution equation. The growth of matter density contrasts is analyzed with redshift $z$. Using the nonmetricity mo…
In this paper, we study the growth index of matter density perturbations for the power law model in $f(T)$ gravity. Using the parametrization $γ(z)=γ_0+γ_1 {z\over 1+z}$ for the growth index, which approximates the real evolution of $γ(z)$ very well, and the observational data of the growth factor, we find that, at $1σ$ confidence level, the power law model in $f(T)$ gravity is consistent with the observations, since the obtained theoretical values of $γ_0$ and $γ_1$ are in the allowed region.
Recently a new type of cosmological singularity has been postulated for infinite barotropic index $w$ in the equation of state $p=w ρ$ of the cosmological fluid, but vanishing pressure and density at the singular event. Apparently the barotropic index $w$ would be the only physical quantity to blow up at the singularity. In this talk we would like to discuss the strength of such singularities and compare them with other types. We show that they are weak singularities.
The present work is related to anisotropic cosmological evolution in metric $f(R)$ theory of gravity. The initial part of the paper develops the general cosmological dynamics of homogeneous anisotropic Bianchi-I spacetime in $f(R)$ cosmology. The anisotropic spacetime is pervaded by a barotropic fluid which has isotropic pressure. The paper predicts nonlinear growth of anisotropy in such spacetimes. In the later part of the paper we display the predictive power of the nonlinear differential equation responsible for the cosmological anisotropy growth in various relevant cases. We present the ex…
We demonstrate a single-parameter route for reproducing higher mass objects as observed in the LIGO--Virgo mass distribution, using only the isolated binary stellar evolution channel. This single parameter encodes the cosmological mass growth of compact stellar remnants that exceed the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff limit. Cosmological mass growth appears in known solutions to General Relativity with cosmological boundary conditions. We consider the possibility of solutions with cosmological boundary conditions, which reduce to Kerr on timescales short compared to the Hubble time. We discuss compl…
The Lambda-Cold Dark Matter (LCDM) model agrees with most of the cosmological observations, but has some hindrances from observed data at smaller scales such as galaxies. Recently, Berezhiani and Khoury (2015) proposed a new theory involving interacting superfluid dark matter with three model parameters, which explains galactic dynamics with great accuracy. In the present work, we study the cosmological behaviour of this model in the linear regime of cosmological perturbations. In particular, we compute both analytically and numerically the matter linear growth factor and obtain new bounds for…
We find an explicit cosmological model which allows a special type of cosmological singularity which we call a $w$-singularity. This singularity has the scale factor finite, the energy density and pressure vanishing, and the only singular behaviour appears in a time-dependent barotropic index $w(t)$. It is different from the type IV cosmological singularity in that it does not exhibit the divergence of the higher derivatives of the Hubble parameter and from the big-brake since it does not fulfill the anti-Chaplygin gas equation of state. We also find an interesting duality between the $w$-sing…
(Abridged) We use high resolution cosmological N-body simulations to study the growth of intermediate to supermassive black holes from redshift 49 to zero. We track the growth of black holes from the seeds of population III stars to black holes in the range of 10^3 < M < 10^7 Msun -- not quasars, but rather IMBH to low-mass SMBHs. These lower mass black holes are the primary observable for the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA). The large-scale dynamics of the black holes are followed accurately within the simulation down to scales of 1 kpc; thereafter, we follow the merger analytically…

We provide for the first time the growth index of linear matter fluctuations of the power law $f(T) \propto (-T)^{b}$ gravity model. We find that the asymptotic form of this particular $f(T)$ model is $γ\approx \frac{6}{11-6b}$ which obviously extends that of the $Λ$CDM model, $γ_Λ\approx 6/11$. Finally, we generalize the growth index analysis of $f(T)$ gravity in the case where $γ$ is allowed to vary with redshift.
