The Lambda-Cold Dark Matter (LCDM) model agrees with most of the cosmological observations, but has some hindrances from observed data at smaller scales such as galaxies. Recently, Berezhiani and Khoury (2015) proposed a new theory involving interacting superfluid dark matter with three model parameters, which explains galactic dynamics with great accuracy. In the present work, we study the cosmological behaviour of this model in the linear regime of cosmological perturbations. In particular, we compute both analytically and numerically the matter linear growth factor and obtain new bounds for the model parameters which are significantly stronger than previously found. These new constraints come from the fact that structures within the superfluid dark matter framework grow quicker than in LCDM, and quite rapidly when the DM-baryon interactions are strong.
We investigate the growth of large-scale structure in the superfluid Chaplygin gas (SCG) model. Both linear and non-linear growth, such as $σ_8$ and the skewness $S_3$, are discussed. We find the growth factor of SCG reduces to the EdS case at early times while differs from the $Λ$CDM case in the large $a$ limit. We also find there will be much stricture growth on large scales in the SCG scenario than in $Λ$CDM and the variations of $σ_{8}$ and $S_3$ between SCG and $Λ$CDM can not be discriminated.
The vacuum is filled with complex scalar fields, such as the Higgs field. These fields serve as order parameters for superfluidity (quantum phase coherence over macroscopic distances), making the entire universe a superfluid. We review a mathematical model consisting of two aspects: (a) emergence of the superfluid during the big bang; (b) observable manifestations of superfluidity in the present universe. The creation aspect requires a self-interacting scalar field that is asymptotically free, i.e., the interaction must grow from zero during the big bang, and this singles out the Halpern-Huang…
In this talk I present a new model of a unified dark sector, where late-time cosmic acceleration emerges from the dark matter (DM) superfluid framework. We will start by reviewing the dark matter superfluid model and show how it describes the dynamics of DM in large and small scales. Then we will show that if the superfluid consists of a mixture of two distinguishable states with a small energy gap, such as the ground state and an excited state of DM, interacting through a contact interaction a new dynamics of late-time accelerated expansion emerges in this system, without the need of dark ene…
We generalize the big-bang model in a previous paper by extending the real vacuum scalar field to a complex vacuum scalar field, within the FLRW framework. The phase dynamics of the scalar field, which makes the universe a superfluid, is described in terms of a density of quantized vortex lines, and a tangle of vortex lines gives rise to quantum turbulence. We propose that all the matter in the universe was created in the turbulence, through reconnection of vortex lines, a process necessary for the maintenance of the vortex tangle. The vortex tangle grows and decays, and its lifetime is the er…
We consider superfluid hydrodynamics of two-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensates. Interpreting the curvature of the macroscopic condensate wavefunction as an effective gravity in such a superfluid universe, we argue for a superfluid equivalence principle---that the gravitational mass of a quantised vortex should be equal to the inertial vortex mass. In this model, gravity and electromagnetism have the same origin and are emergent properties of the superfluid universe, which itself emerges from the underlying collective structure of more elementary particles, such as atoms. The Bose-Einstein c…
The statefinder indices are employed to test the superfluid Chaplygin gas (SCG) model describing the dark sector of the universe. The model involves Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) as dark energy (DE) and an excited state above it as dark matter (DM). The condensate is assumed to have a negative pressure and is embodied as an exotic fluid with the Chaplygin equation of state. Excitations forms the normal component of superfluid. The statefinder diagrams show the discrimination between the SCG scenario and other models with the Chaplygin gas and indicates a pronounced effect of the DM equation o…
Using redshift space distortion data, we perform model-independent reconstructions of the growth history of matter inhomogeneity in the expanding Universe using two methods: crossing statistics and Gaussian processes. We then reconstruct the corresponding history of the Universe background expansion and fit it to type Ia supernovae data, putting constraints on $(Ω_\mathrm{m,0},σ_{8,0})$. The results obtained are consistent with the concordance flat-$Λ$CDM model and General Relativity as the gravity theory given the current quality of the inhomogeneity growth data.
A new model describing the dark sector of the universe is established. The model involves Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) as dark energy (DE) and an excited state above it as dark matter (DM). The condensate is assumed to have a negative pressure and is embodied as an exotic fluid with Chaplygin equation of state. Excitations are described as a quasiparticle gas. It is shown that the model is not in disagreement with the current observations of the cosmic acceleration. The model predicts increase of the effective cosmological constant and a complete disappearance of the matter at the far future…
Guided by the analogy with the Rayleigh-Plesset dynamics of multielectron bubbles in superfluid He-4, we consider the cosmological FLRW evolution equation with additional cubic and sixth powers of the inverse of the scale factor of the universe. For the barotropic parameter w=2/3 (coasting universe), along with zero cosmological constant in the absence of viscous terms, by using the Sundman time as evolution parameter, we present parametric solutions for the scale factor of the universe in terms of rational expressions of Weierstrass elliptic functions and their particular cases thereof. For o…
In this paper we examine the validity of the linear perturbation theory near a bounce in the covariant analysis. Some linearity parameters are defined to set up conditions for a linear theory. Linear evolution of density perturbation and gravitational waves have been computed previously. We have calculated the vector and scalar induced parts of the shear tensor. For radiationlike and dustlike single fluid dominated collapsing Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker background it is shown that the linearity conditions are not satisfied near a bounce.
We discuss phenomenology of quantum vacuum. Phenomenology of macroscopic systems has three sources: thermodynamics, topology and symmetry. Thermodynamics of the self-sustained vacuum allows us to treat the problems related to the vacuum energy: the cosmological constant problems. The natural value of the energy density of the equilibrium the self-sustained vacuum is zero. Cosmology is discussed as the process of relaxation of vacuum towards the equilibrium state. The present value of the cosmological constant is very small compared to the Planck scale, because the present Universe is very old …
From the general assumption that gravity originates from the coupling and thermal equilibrium between matter and vacuum, after a derivation of Newton's law of gravitation and an interpretation of the attractive gravity force between two classical objects, we consider the macroscopic quantum gravity effect for particles whose wave packets are delocalized at macroscopic scale. We predict an abnormal repulsive gravity effect in this work. For a sphere full of superfluid helium, it is shown that with a gravimeter placed in this sphere, the sensitivities of the gravity acceleration $Δg/g$ below $10…
Structure occurs over a vast range of scales in the universe. Our large-scale cosmological models are coarse-grained representations of what exists, which have much less structure than there really is. An important problem for cosmology is determining the influence the small-scale structure in the universe has on its large-scale dynamics and observations. Is there a significant, general relativistic, backreaction effect from averaging over structure? One issue is whether the process of smoothing over structure can contribute to an acceleration term and so alter the apparent value of the cosmol…
We show that the model of superfluid dark matter developed in Refs.~\cite{Khoury:2014tka,Berezhiani:2015bqa,Berezhiani:2015pia}, which modifies the Newtonian potential and explains the galactic rotational curves, can be unitarized by the formation of classical configurations in the scattering amplitudes. The classicalization mechanism may also trigger the formation of the superfluid state from the early to the late Universe.
According to experimental data of SNe Ia (Supernovae type Ia), we will discuss in detial dynamics of the DGP model and introduce a simple parametrization of matter $ω$, in order to analyze scenarios of the expanding universe and the evolution of the scale factor. We find that the dimensionless matter density parameter at the present epoch $Ω^0_m=0.3$, the age of the universe $t_0= 12.48$ Gyr, $\frac{a}{a_0}=-2.4e^{\frac{-t}{25.56}}+2.45$. The next we study the linear growth of matter perturbations, and we assume a definition of the growth rate, $f \equiv \frac{dlnδ}{dlna}$. As many authors for…
In this work we set observational constraints of the Superfluid Chaplygin gas model, which gives a unified description of the dark sector of the Universe as a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) that behaves as dark energy (DE) while it is in the ground state and as dark matter (DM) when it is in the excited state. We first show and perform the various steps leading to a form of the equations suitable for the observational tests to be carried out. Then, by using a Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) code, we constrain the model with a sample of cosmology-independent long gamma-ray bursts (LGRBs) calibr…
We propose an interpretation of the expansion and acceleration of the Universe from an information theoretic viewpoint. We obtain the time evolution of the configuration entropy of the mass distribution in a static Universe and show that the process of gravitational instability leads to a rapid dissipation of configuration entropy during the growth of the density fluctuations making such a Universe entropically unfavourable. We find that in an expanding Universe, the configuration entropy rate is governed by the expansion rate of the Universe and the growth rate of density fluctuations. The co…
We investigate emergent universe model using recent observational data for the background tests as well as for the growth tests. The background test data comprises of Hubble data, Baryon Acoustic Oscillation (BAO) data, cosmic microwave background (CMB) shift data, Union compilation data. The observational growth data are obtained from Wiggle-Z measurements and rms mass fluctuations data from Lyman-$α$ measurements at different red shifts. The flat emergent universe model obtained by Mukherjee {\it et. al.} is permitted with a non-linear equation of state (in short, EoS) ($p=Aρ-Bρ^{\frac{1}{2}…
Future galaxy surveys hope to distinguish between the dark energy and modified gravity scenarios for the accelerating expansion of the Universe using the distortion of clustering in redshift space. The aim is to model the form and size of the distortion to infer the rate at which large scale structure grows. We test this hypothesis and assess the performance of current theoretical models for the redshift space distortion using large volume N-body simulations of the gravitational instability process. We simulate competing cosmological models which have identical expansion histories - one is a q…
We investigate the linear growth function for the large scale structures of the universe considering modified Chaplygin gas as dark energy. Taking into account observational growth data for a given range of redshift from the Wiggle-Z measurements and rms mass fluctuations from Ly-$α$ measurements we numerically analyze cosmological models to constrain the parameters of the MCG. The observational data of Hubble parameter with redshift ($Z$) is also considered. The Wang-Steinhardt ansatz for growth index $γ$ and growth function $f$ (defined as $f=Ω_{m}^γ (a)$) are considered for the numerical an…
The problem of the energy-momentum conservation for matter in the gravitational field is discussed on the example of the effective gravity, which arises in superfluids. The "gravitational" field experienced by the relativistic-like massless quasiparticles which form the "matter" (phonons in superfluid 4He and low-energy fermions in superfluid 3He-A), is induced by the flow of the superfluid "vacuum". It appears that the energy-momentum conservation law for quasiparticles, has the covariant form T^μ_{ν;μ}=0. "Pseudotensor" of the energy-momentum for the "gravitational field" (superfluid condens…
A possible solution to the dark energy problem is that Einstein's theory of general relativity is modified. A suite of models have been proposed that, in general, are unable to predict the correct amount of large scale structure in the distribution of galaxies or anisotropies in the Cosmic Microwave Background. It has been argued, however, that it should be possible to constrain a general class of theories of modified gravity by focusing on properties such as the growing mode, gravitational slip and the effective, time varying Newton's constant. We show that assuming certain physical requireme…
In recent work we proposed a novel theory of dark matter (DM) superfluidity that matches the successes of the LambdaCDM model on cosmological scales while simultaneously reproducing MOdified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) phenomenology on galactic scales. The agents responsible for mediating the MONDian force law are superfluid phonons that couple to ordinary (baryonic) matter. In this paper we propose an alternative way for the MOND phenomenon to emerge from DM superfluidity. The central idea is to use higher-gradient corrections in the superfluid effective theory. These next-to-leading order term…
We investigate the holographic complexity growth rate of a conformal field theory in a FLRW universe. We consider two ways to realize a FLRW spacetime from an Anti-de Sitter Schwarzschild geometry. The first one is obtained by introducing a new foliation of the Schwarzschild geometry such that the conformal boundary takes the FLRW form. The other one is to consider a brane universe moving in the Schwarzschild background. For each case, we compute the complexity growth rate in a closed universe and a flat universe by using both the complexity-volume and complexity-action dualities. We find that…
We apply the Statefinder hierarchy and the growth rate of matter perturbations to discriminate modified Chaplygin gas (MCG), generalized Chaplygin gas (GCG), superfluid Chaplygin gas (SCG), purely kinetic k-essence (PKK), and $Λ$CDM model. We plot the evolutional trajectories of these models in the statefinder plane and in the composite diagnostic plane. We find that GCG, MCG, SCG, PKK, and $Λ$CDM can be distinguished well from each other at the present epoch by using the composite diagnostic $\{ε(z), S^{(1)}_{5}\}$. Using other combinations, such as $\{S^{(1)}_{3}, S^{(1)}_4\}$, $\{S^{(1)}_{3…
An important piece of evidence for dark matter is the need to explain the growth of structure from the time of horizon entry and radiation-matter equality to the formation of stars and galaxies. This cannot be explained by using general relativity without dark matter. So far, dark matter particles have not been detected in laboratory measurements or at the LHC. We demonstrate that enhanced structure growth can happen in a modified gravity theory (MOG). The vector field and particle introduced in the theory to explain galaxy and cluster dynamics plays an important role in generating the require…
In relativistic quantum field theories, compact objects of interacting bosons can become stable owing to conservation of an additive quantum number $Q$. Discovering such $Q$-balls propagating in the Universe would confirm supersymmetric extensions of the standard model and may shed light on the mysteries of dark matter, but no unambiguous experimental evidence exists. We report observation of a propagating long-lived $Q$-ball in superfluid $^3$He, where the role of $Q$-ball is played by a Bose-Einstein condensate of magnon quasiparticles. We achieve accurate representation of the $Q$-ball Hami…
The objective of this work is to revisit fundamental aspects of relativistic hydrodynamics, aiming at the construction of a first course in relativistic hydrodynamics and its applications to astrophysics at the level of end of undergraduate course and beginning of graduate course. We aim to introduce more basic concepts of basic hydrodynamics, going through models analogous to gravity to the theory of superfluids, applying mainly to astrophysics and the cosmology of the dark universe. We review the classical hydrodynamics, Galileo symmetry and its extension to Lorentz Symmetry applied to fluid…
We make a consistency test for the general relativity (GR) through measuring the growth index $γ$ in a universe with massive (sterile/active) neutrinos. We employ the redshift space distortion measurements to do the analysis. To constrain other cosmological parameters, we also use other cosmological measurements, including the Planck 2015 cosmic microwave background temperature and polarization data, the baryon acoustic oscillation data, the type Ia supernova JLA data, the weak lensing galaxy shear data, and the Planck 2015 lensing data. In a universe with massive sterile neutrinos, we obtain …
We study the linear growth function $f$ for large scale structures in a cosmological scenario where Generalised Chaplygin Gas (GCG) serves as dark energy candidate. We parametrize the growth index parameter as a function of redshift and do a comparative study between the theoretical growth rate and the proposed parametrization. Moreover, we demonstrate that growth rates for a wide range of dark energy models can be modeled accurately by our proposed parametrization. Finally, we compile a data set consisting of 28 data points within redshift range (0.15,3.8) to constrain the growth rate. It inc…
In this work, I present for the first time the analysis concerning the growth of matter fluctuations in the framework of $f(R,T)$ modified gravity where I presume $f(R,T) = R + λT$, where $R$ denote the Ricci scalar, $T$ the trace of the energy-momentum tensor and $λ$ a constant. I first solve the Friedman equations assuming a dust universe ($ω=0$) for the Hubble parameter $H(z)$ and then employ it in the equation of matter density fluctuations $δ(z)$ to solve for $δ(z)$ and the growth rate $f(z)$. Next, I proceed to show the behavior of $f(z)$ and $δ(z)$ with redshift for some values of $λ$ w…
In this work, we analyzed the effect of different prescriptions of the IR cutoffs, namely the Hubble horizon cutoff, particle horizon cutoff, Granda and Oliveros horizon cut off, and the Ricci horizon cutoff on the growth rate of clustering for the Tsallis holographic dark energy (THDE) model in an FRW universe devoid of any interactions between the dark Universe. Furthermore, we used the concept of configurational entropy to derive constraints (qualitatively) on the model parameters for the THDE model in each IR cutoff prescription from the fact that the rate of change of configurational entr…
A master equation for the evolution of two-dimensional universe is derived based on the simplicial quantum gravity regarding the evolution as the Markov process of a space-time lattice. Three typical phases, expanding, elongating and collapsing phase, which have been found in the numerical simulation, are studied together with their boundaries, analytically. Asymptotic solutions of the evolution equation for statistical quantities, such as averaged area, boundary length, and correlation of fluctuations, are obtained for each phase and boundary. After introducing a physical time the cosmological…
The unparticle has been suggested as a candidate of dark matter. We investigated the growth rate of the density perturbation for the unparticle dark matter in the flat Universe. First, we consider the model in which unparticle is the sole dark matter and find that the growth factor can be approximated well by $f=(1+3ω_u)Ω^γ_u$, where $ω_u$ is the equation of state of unparticle. Our results show that the presence of $ω_u$ modifies the behavior of the growth factor $f$. For the second model where unparticle co-exists with cold dark matter, the growth factor has a new approximation $f=(1+3ω_u)Ω^…
We investigate the initial state of the inflationary universe. In our recent publications, we showed that requesting the gauge invariance in the local observable universe to the initial state guarantees the infrared (IR) regularity of loop corrections in a general single clock inflation. Following this study, in this paper, we show that choosing the Euclidean vacuum ensures the gauge invariance in the local universe and hence the IR regularity of loop corrections. It has been suggested that loop corrections to inflationary perturbations may yield the secular growth, which can lead to the break…
A version of the cosmological perturbation theory in general relativity (GR) is developed, where the cosmological scale factor is identified with spatial averaging of the metric determinant logarithm and the cosmic evolution acquires the pattern of a superfluid motion: the absence of "friction-type" interaction, the London-type wave function, and the Bogoliubov condensation of quantum universes. This identification keeps the number of variables of GR and leads to a new type of potential perturbations. A set of arguments is given in favor of that this "superfluid" version of GR is in agreement …
The density perturbation of the universe has been considered in the framework of a Finslerian cosmological model in which the background spacetime of the universe is taken as the spatially flat FLRW spacetime with a Finslerian perturbation. The inhomogeneity in the matter(energy) density arises naturally in this consideration of gravity in the $( α, β)$ - Finsler space for the background spacetime of the universe. The resulting inhomogeneous matter density indicates matter perturbation departing from the uniform density, and it is caused by the Finslerian perturbation in the Riemannian spaceti…
We use recently published redshift space distortion measurements of the cosmological growth rate, f sigma_8(z), to examine whether the linear evolution of perturbations in the R_h=ct cosmology is consistent with the observed development of large scale structure. We find that these observations favour R_h=ct over the version of LCDM optimized with the joint analysis of Planck and linear growth rate data, particularly in the redshift range 0 < z < 1, where a significant curvature in the functional form of f sigma_8(z) predicted by the standard model---but not by R_h=ct---is absent in the data. W…
Many direct parallels connect superfluid 3He with the field theories describing the physical vacuum, gauge fields and elementary fermions. Superfluid $^3$He exhibits a variety of topological defects which can be detected with single-defect sensitivity. Modern scenarios of defect-mediated baryogenesis can be simulated by the interaction of the 3He vortices and domain walls with fermionic quasiparticles. Formation of defects in a symmetry-breaking phase transition in the early Universe, which could be responsible for large-scale structure formation and for microwave-background anisotropy, also m…
We investigate the exact analytic solutions for the growths of the dark matter and the baryon in sub-horizon scale. The growth of the dark matter $δ_{\DM}$ is related to that of the halos. Thus, the exact solution for the growth of the dark matter is important to obtain the proper properties of dark matter halos. However, the dark energy model dependence of $δ_{\DM}$ is confused with the $δ_{\DM}$ dependence on $Ω_{m}^{0}$. Thus, the careful investigation is necessary for the $δ_{\DM}$ dependence on dark energy models. We also obtain the exact solution of the growth of the baryon $δ_{\B}$ whic…
Consistency tests for the general relativity (GR) can be performed by constraining the growth index $γ$ using the measurements of redshift-space distortions (RSD) in conjunction with other observations. In previous studies, deviations from the GR expected value of $γ\approx 0.55$ at the 2--3$σ$ level were found. In this work, we reconsider the measurement of $γ$ in a universe with sterile neutrinos. We constrain the sterile neutrino cosmological model using the RSD measurements combined with the cosmic microwave background data (Planck temperature data plus WMAP 9-yr polarization data), the ba…
A large class of the dynamical laws for causal sets described by a classical process of sequential growth yield a cyclic universe, whose cycles of expansion and contraction are punctuated by single `origin elements' of the causal set. We present evidence that the effective dynamics of the immediate future of one of these origin elements, within the context of the sequential growth dynamics, yields an initial period of de Sitter like exponential expansion, and argue that the resulting picture has many attractive features as a model of the early universe, with the potential to solve some of the …
Quasars at high redshift provide direct information on the mass growth of supermassive black holes and, in turn, yield important clues about how the Universe evolved since the first (Pop III) stars started forming. Yet even basic questions regarding the seeds of these objects and their growth mechanism remain unanswered. The anticipated launch of eROSITA and ATHENA is expected to facilitate observations of high-redshift quasars needed to resolve these issues. In this paper, we compare accretion-based supermassive black hole growth in the concordance LCDM model with that in the alternative Frie…
Recent astronomical observations of high redshift quasars, dark matter-dominated galaxies, mergers of neutron stars, glitch phenomena in pulsars, cosmic microwave background and experimental data from hadronic colliders do not rule out, but they even support the hypothesis that the energy-density in our universe most likely is upper-limited by $ρ^{uni}_{max},$ which is predicted to lie between $2$ to $3$ the nuclear density $ρ_0.$ Quantum fluids in the cores of massive NSs with $ρ\approx ρ^{uni}_{max}$ reach the maximum compressibility state, where they become insensitive to further compressio…
We develop a theory of dark matter based on a previously proposed picture, in which a complex vacuum scalar field makes the universe a superfluid, with the energy density of the superfluid giving rise to dark energy, and variations from vacuum density giving rise to dark matter. We formulate a nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation to describe the superfluid, treating galaxies as external sources. We study the response of the superfluid to the galaxies, in particular, the emergence of the dark-matter galactic halo, contortions during galaxy collisions, and the creation of vortices due to galactic rot…
Cosmologies including continuous matter creation are able to reproduce the main properties of the standard $Λ$CDM model, in particular in cases where the particle and entropy production rates are equal. These specific models, characterized by a mass density equal to the critical value, behave like the standard $Λ$CDM model at early times whereas their late evolution is similar to the steady-state cosmology. The maximum amplitude of density fluctuations in these models depends on the adopted creation rate, related here to the parameter $Ω_v$ and this limitation could be a difficulty for the for…
We disclose the effects of the entropic corrections to the Friedmann equations on the growth of perturbations in the early stages of the universe. We consider two types of corrections to the area law of entropy, known as Tsallis and Barrow entropies. Using these corrections to entropy, we derive the modified Friedmann equations and explore the growth of perturbations in a flat universe filled with dark matter (DM) and cosmological constant. We employ the spherically symmetric collapse formalism and work in the linear regime for the perturbations. Interestingly enough, we find out that the prof…
The apparent superluminal growth in the size of a sufficiently large part of the universe can be ascribed to the special relativistic effect of time dilation.
Recently, a novel equation of state (EoS) parameter for dark energy has been introduced which deals with a special mathematical function, known as the Lambert$W$ function. In this paper, we study the effect on the growth of perturbations for the Lambert$W$ dark energy model. We perform the analysis for two different approaches. In the first case we consider the universe to be filled with two different fluid components, namely, the baryonic matter component and the Lambert$W$ dark energy component, while in the second case we consider that there is a single fluid component in the universe whose…
Semiclassical Physics in gravitational scenario, in its first approximation (1st order) cares only for the expectation value of stress energy tensor and ignores the inherent quantum fluctuations thereof. In the approach of stochastic gravity, on the other hand, these matter fluctuations are supposed to work as the source of geometry fluctuations and have the potential to render the results from 1st order semiclassical physics irrelevant. We study the object of central significance in stochastic gravity, i.e. the noise kernel, for a wide class of Friedmann space-times. Through an equivalence of…
Two different realistic $F(R)$ modified gravity models are considered in the framework of the Friedmann-Lemetre-Robertson-Walker universe. The parameters of these two models are adjusted to reach coherence with the most recent and accurate observations of the current universe. A study of the growth of matter density perturbations is done, and several parametrizations of the growth index are developed for both models. The ansatz for the growth index given by $γ= γ_0 + γ_1 z/(1+z)$ seems to be the best parametrization for the two models considered. Finally, the values obtained for $γ_0$ and $γ_1…
Superfluid phases of 3He are quantuim liquids with the interacting fermionic and bosonic fields. In many respects they can simulate the interacting quantum fields in the phyiscal vacuum. One can observe analogs of such phenomena as axial anomaly, vacuum polarization, zero-charge effect, fermionic charge of the vacuum, baryogenesis, ergoregion, vacuum instability, etc. We discuss some topics on example of several linear defects in 3He-A: (1) disgyration, which simulates the extremely massive cosmic string: (2) singular vortex, which is analogous to the spinning cosmic string; and (3) continuous…
Using the result obtained in a prevoius paper, in which I found an upper limit on the region of particle creation in the vicinity of the event horizon of a Schwarzschild black hole, and by assuming that all the created energy will be absorbed by the black hole, a natural power law for the growth of the event horizon is deduced. This result may explain the existence of galactic black holes with very large masses. Application of this result on cosmological scale shows that if we start with a Planck-sized black hole then the natural growth of such a black hole will produce one with a density equa…
In this manuscript, we studied the accelerated expansion history of the universe and the formations of large-scale structures using $f(Q)$ gravity model. The expansion rate of the universe within distance modulus and redshift has been performed in $f(Q)$ gravity. This work is also devoted to investigating the linear cosmological perturbations in the $f(Q)$ gravity model using the $1 + 3$ covariant formalism. The scalar and harmonic decomposition techniques are applied to find the evolution equation. The growth of matter density contrasts is analyzed with redshift $z$. Using the nonmetricity mo…
It is shown that density fluctuations obey a scaling law in an open Friedmann universe. In a flat universe, the fluctuations are not scale-invariant. We compute the growth rate of adiabatic scale-invariant density fluctuations in flat, open and inflationary universes. We find that, given a sufficiently long time, the density perturbations decay away in the Einstein-de-Sitter universe. On the contrary, the rapid growth of the density instabilities makes an open universe inhomogeneous in a time scale comparable to the age of our universe. We also find that the fluctuations grow exponentially in …
