In this paper we introduce the concept of random time changes in dynamical systems. The subordination principle may be applied to study the long time behavior of the random time systems. We show, under certain assumptions on the class of random time, that the subordinated system exhibits a slower time decay which is determined by the random time characteristics. In the path asymptotic a random time change is reflected in the new velocity of the resulting dynamics.
We present a notion of almost periodicity wich can be applied to random dynamical systems as well as almost periodic stochastic differential equations in Hilbert spaces (abstract stochastic partial differential equations). This concept allows for improvements of known results of almost periodicity in distribution, for general random processes and for solutions to stochastic differential equations.
Existence of random dynamical systems for a class of coalescing stochastic flows on $\mathbb{R}$ is proved. A new state space for coalescing flows is built. As particular cases coalescing flows of solutions to stochastic differential equations independent before meeting time and coalescing Harris flows are considered.
We give general sufficient conditions to prove the convergence of marked point processes that keep record of the occurrence of rare events and of their impact for non-autonomous dynamical systems. We apply the results to sequential dynamical systems associated to uniformly expanding maps and to random dynamical systems given by fibred Lasota Yorke maps.
We consider the rough differential equation $dY=f(Y)d\bm \om$ where $\bm \om=(ω,\bbomega)$ is a rough path defined by a Brownian motion $ω$ on $\RR^m$. Under the usual regularity assumption on $f$, namely $f\in C^3_b (\RR^d, \RR^{d\times m})$, the rough differential equation has a unique solution that defines a random dynamical system $ϕ_0$. On the other hand, we also consider an ordinary random differential equation $dY_δ=f(Y_δ)dω_\de$, where $ω_\de$ is a random process with stationary increments and continuously differentiable paths that approximates $ω$. The latter differential equation gen…
We prove that certain asymptotic moments exist for some random distance expanding dynamical systems and Markov chains in random dynamical environment, and compute them in terms of the derivatives at the $0$ of an appropriate pressure function. It will follow that these moments satisfy the relations that the asymptotic moments $\gam_k=\lim_{n\to\infty}n^{-[\frac k2]}\bbE(\sum_{i=1}^n X_i)^k$ of sums of independent and identically distributed random variables satisfy. We will also obtain certain (Edgeworth) asymptotic expansions related to the central limit theorem for such processes. Our proofs…
We provide a rather general perfection result for crude local semi-flows taking values in a Polish space showing that a crude semi-flow has a modification which is a (perfect) local semi-flow which is invariant under a suitable metric dynamical system. Such a (local) semi-flow induces a (local) random dynamical system. Then we show that this result can be applied to several classes of stochastic differential equations driven by semimartingales with stationary increments such as equations with locally monotone coefficients and equations with singular drift. For these examples it was previously …
We study random dynamical systems on the real line, considering each dynamical system together with the one generated by the inverse maps. We show that there is a duality between forward and inverse behaviour for such systems, splitting them into four classes (in terms of both dynamical and stationary measure aspects). This is analogous to the results already known for the smooth dynamics on [0,1], established in terms of the Lyapunov exponents at the endpoints; however, our arguments are purely topological, and thus our result is applicable to the general case of homeomorphisms of the real li…
Using the weak convergence approach to large deviations, we formulate and prove the large deviation principle (LDP) for W-random graphs in the cut-norm topology. This generalizes the LDP for Erdős-R{\' e}nyi random graphs by Chatterjee and Varadhan. Furthermore, we translate the LDP for random graphs to a class of interacting dynamical systems on such graphs. To this end, we demonstrate that the solutions of the dynamical models depend continuously on the underlying graphs with respect to the cut-norm and apply the contraction principle.
For an attracting periodic orbit (limit cycle) of a deterministic dynamical system, one defines the isochron for each point of the orbit as the cross-section with fixed return time under the flow. Equivalently, isochrons can be characterized as stable manifolds foliating neighborhoods of the limit cycle or as level sets of an isochron map. In recent years, there has been a lively discussion in the mathematical physics community on how to define isochrons for stochastic oscillations, i.e. limit cycles or heteroclinic cycles exposed to stochastic noise. The main discussion has concerned an appro…
We extend the spectral approach of S. Gouëzel for the vector-valued almost sure invariance principle (ASIP) to certain classes of non-stationary sequences with a weaker control over the behavior of the covariance matrices, assuming only linear growth. Then we apply this extension to obtain a quenched vector-valued ASIP for random perturbations of a fixed Anosov diffeomorphism as well as random perturbations of a billiard map associated to the periodic Lorentz gas. We also consider certain classes of random piecewise expanding maps.
We consider a non-autonomous ordinary differential equation on a smooth manifold, with right-hand side that randomly switches between the elements of a finite family of smooth vector fields. For the resulting random dynamical system, we show that Hörmander type hypoellipticity conditions are sufficient for uniqueness and absolute continuity of an invariant measure.
In this note we study dynamical random walks (DRW) with internal states. We consider a particle which performs a dynamical random walk on $\mathbb{Z}$ and whose local dynamics is given by expanding maps. We provide sufficient conditions for the position of the particle $z_n$ to satisfy the Central Limit Theorem.
We first introduce the concept of weak random periodic solutions of random dynamical systems. Then, we discuss the existence of such periodic solutions. Further, we introduce the definition of weak random periodic measures and study their relationship with weak random periodic solutions. In particular, we establish the existence of invariant measures of random dynamical systems by virtue of their weak random periodic solutions. Finally, we use concrete examples to illustrate the weak random periodic phenomena of dynamical systems induced by random and stochastic differential equations.
In this paper, we first give the definition of random almost periodic solutions of random dynamical systems and give some examples. Then, we prove the existence of such random almost periodic solutions. Further, we introduce the definition of random almost periodic measure. Finally, we discuss the relationship between random almost periodic solutions and almost periodic measures.
In this paper, we introduce the concept of random time changes in dynamical systems. The sub- ordination principle may be applied to study the long time behavior of the random time systems. We show, under certain assumptions on the class of random time, that the subordinated system exhibits a slower time decay which is determined by the random time characteristics. Along the path asymp- totic, a random time change is reflected in the new velocity of the resulting dynamics.
The dynamics of the solutions to a class of conservative SPDEs are analysed from two perspectives: Firstly, a probabilistic construction of a corresponding random dynamical system is given for the first time. Secondly, the existence and uniqueness of invariant measures, as well as mixing for the associated Markov process is shown.
In this paper, we study dynamical properties as hypercyclicity, supercyclicity, frequent hypercyclicity and chaoticity for transition operators associated to countable irreductible Markov chains. As particular cases, we consider simple random walks on Z and Z+.
We study a random dynamical system such that one transformation is randomly selected from a family of transformations and then applied on each iteration. For such random dynamical systems, we consider estimates of absolutely continuous invariant measures. Since the random dynamical systems are made by complicated compositions of many deterministic maps and probability density functions, it is difficult to estimate the invariant measures. To get rid of this difficulty, we present fundamental comparison theorems which make easier the estimates of invariant measures of random maps. We also demons…
In this paper, we study the Feldman-Katok metric in random dynamical systems and establish corresponding fiber topological entropy formula, Brin-Katok local entropy formula and fiber Katok entropy formula by replacing Bowen metric with Feldman-Katok metric. It turns out that the Feldman-Katok metric is also the weakest metric that makes the entropy formulae valid on random dynamical systems.
We prove the existence of measurable invariant manifolds for small perturbations of linear Random Dynamical Systems evolving on a Banach space and admitting a general type of dichotomy, both for continuous and discrete time. Moreover, the asymptotic behavior in the invariant manifold is similar to the one of the linear Random Dynamical System.
We consider random holomorphic dynamical systems on the Riemann sphere whose choices of maps are related to Markov chains. Our motivation is to generalize the facts which hold in i.i.d. random holomorphic dynamical systems. In particular, we focus on the function $T$ which represents the probability of tending to infinity. We show some sufficient conditions which make $T$ continuous on the whole space and we characterize the Julia sets in terms of the function $T$ under certain assumptions.
We provide sufficient conditions for weak synchronization by noise for order-preserving random dynamical systems on Polish spaces. That is, under these conditions we prove the existence of a weak point attractor consisting of a single random point. This generalizes previous results in two directions: First, we do not restrict to Banach spaces and second, we do not require the partial order to be admissible nor normal. As a second main result and application we prove weak synchronization by noise for stochastic porous media equations with additive noise.
We consider non-i.i.d. random holomorphic dynamical systems whose choice of maps depends on Markovian rules. We show that generically, such a system is mean stable or chaotic with full Julia set. If a system is mean stable, then the Lyapunov exponent is uniformly negative for every initial value and almost every random orbit. Moreover, we consider families of random holomorphic dynamical systems and show that the set of mean stable systems has full measure under certain conditions. The latter is a new result even for i.i.d. random dynamical systems.
We develop and generalize the theory of extreme value for non-stationary stochastic processes, mostly by weakening the uniform mixing condition that was previously used in this setting. We apply our results to non-autonomous dynamical systems, in particular to {\em sequential dynamical systems}, given by uniformly expanding maps, and to a few classes of random dynamical systems. Some examples are presented and worked out in detail.
In this paper, we study random dynamical systems generated by two Allee maps. Two models are considered - with and without small random perturbations. It is shown that the behavior of the systems is very similar to the behavior of the deterministic system if we use strictly increasing Allee maps. However, in the case of unimodal Allee maps, the behavior can dramatically change irrespective of the initial conditions.
In this paper, we study geometric features of orientation-preserving random dynamical systems on the circle driven by memoryless noise that exhibit stable synchronisation: we consider crack points, invariant measures, and the link between synchronisation and compressibility of arcs; we also characterise stable synchronisation in additive-noise stochastic differential equations on the circle, in terms of "subperiodicity" of the vector field.
