Let $C$ be a polarized nodal curve of compact type. In this paper we study coherent systems $(E,V)$ on $C$ given by a depth one sheaf $E$ having rank $r$ on each irreducible component of $C$ and a subspace $V \subset H^0(E)$ of dimension $k$. Moduli spaces of stable coherent systems have been introduced by King and Newstead and depend on a real parameter $α$. We show that when $k \geq r$, these moduli spaces coincide for $α$ big enough. Then we deal with the case $k=r+1$: when the degrees of the restrictions of $E$ are big enough we are able to describe an irreducible component of this moduli space by using the dual span construction.
We prove formulae for the motives of stacks of coherent sheaves of fixed rank and degree over a smooth projective curve in Voevodsky's triangulated category of mixed motives with rational coefficients.
Let $(C,\underline{w})$ be a polarized nodal reducible curve. In this paper we consider coherent systems of type $(r,d,k)$ on $C$ with $k < r$. We prove that the moduli spaces of $(\underline{w},α)$-stable coherent systems stabilize for large $α$ and we generalize several results known for the irreducible case when we chose a good polarization. Then, we study in details the components of moduli spaces containing coherent systems arising from locally free sheaves.
We consider non-commutative deformations of sheaves on algebraic varieties. We develop some tools to determine parameter algebras of versal non-commutative deformations for partial simple collections and the structure sheaves of smooth rational curves. We apply them to universal flopping contractions of length 2 and higher. We confirm Donovan-Wemyss conjecture in the case of deformations of Laufer's flops.
We construct a twist-closed enhancement of the category ${\mathcal D}^b_{\rm coh}(X)$, the bounded derived category of complexes of ${\mathcal O}_X$-modules with coherent cohomology, by means of the DG-category of $\bar\partial$-superconnections. Then we apply the techniques of $\bar\partial$-superconnections to define Chern classes and Bott-Chern classes of objects in the category, in particular, of coherent sheaves.
We classify all prime thick subcategories in the derived category of coherent sheaves on elliptic curves, and determine the Serre invariant locus of Matsui spectrum of derived category of coherent sheaves on any smooth projective curves.
In the present paper we investigate conditions for the non-existence of a limit linear series on a curve of compact type such that two smooth curves are bridged by a chain of two elliptic curves. Combining this work with results on the existence of a smoothable limit linear series on such a curve, we show relations among Brill-Noether loci of codimension at most two in the moduli space of complex curves. Specifically, Brill-Noether loci of codimension two have mutually distinct supports.
This work is a PhD thesis. First we provide some general context on wonderful varieties and moduli spaces of rational curves. Working over complex numbers we prove that the moduli space of rational curves with no marked points on the wonderful compactification of a symmetric space is not irreducible in general. Lastly we show that in the case of wonderful group compactifications the set of rational curves with no marked points and irreducible source is irreducible.
Let $R_4$ be the space of rational plane curves of degree $4$. In this paper, we obtain a sheaf theoretic compactification of $R_4$ via the space of $α$-semistable pairs on $\mathbb{P}^2$ and its birational relations through wall-crossings of semistable pairs. We obtain the Poincaré polynomial of the compactified space.
We classify the Deligne-Mumford stacks M compactifying the moduli space of smooth $n$-pointed curves of genus one under the condition that the points of M represent Gorenstein curves with distinct markings. This classification uncovers new moduli spaces $\bar{\mathcal{M}}_{1,n}(Q)$, which we may think of coming from an enrichment of the notion of level used to define Smyth's $m$-stable spaces. Finally, we construct a cube complex of Artin stacks interpolating between the $\bar{\mathcal{M}}_{1,n}(Q)$'s, a multidimensional analogue of the wall-and-chamber structure seen in the log minimal model …
Enriched structures on stable curves over fields were defined by Maino in the late 1990s, and have played an important role in the study of limit linear series and degenerating jacobians. In this paper we solve three main problems: we give a definition of enriched structures on stable curves over arbitrary base schemes, and show that the resulting fine moduli problem is representable; we show that the resulting object has a universal property in terms of Néron models; and we construct a compactification of our stack of enriched structures.
