In this paper we consider coherent systems $(E,V)$ on an elliptic curve which are stable with respect to some value of a parameter $α$. We show that the corresponding moduli spaces, if non-empty, are smooth and irreducible of the expected dimenson. Moreover we give precise conditions for non-emptiness of the moduli spaces. Finally we study the variation of the moduli spaces with $α$.

In this paper we consider moduli spaces of coherent systems on an elliptic curve. We compute their Hodge polynomials and determine their birational types in some cases. Moreover we prove that certain moduli spaces of coherent systems are isomorphic. Genus two curves covering elliptic curves have been the object of study of many articles. For a fixed degree $n$ the subloci of the moduli space $\mathcal M_2$ of curves having a degree $n$ elliptic subcover has been computed for $n=3, 5$ and discussed in detail for $n$ odd; see \cite{Sh1, SV2, Fr, FK}. When the degree of the cover is even the case in general has been treated in \cite{PRS}. In this paper we compute the sublocus of $\mathcal M_2$ of curves having a degree 4 elliptic subcover.

We define three hard problems in the theory of elliptic divisibility sequences (EDS Association, EDS Residue and EDS Discrete Log), each of which is solvable in sub-exponential time if and only if the elliptic curve discrete logarithm problem is solvable in sub-exponential time. We extend the coherent state transform (CST) of Hall to the context of the moduli spaces of semistable holomorphic vector bundles with fixed determinant over elliptic curves. We show that by applying the CST to appropriate distributions, we obtain the space of level k, rank n and genus one non-abelian theta functions with the unitarity of the CST transform being preserved. Furthermore, the shift k -> k+n appears in a natural way in this finite-dimensional framework.
