We discuss the diagonalization of a general Hamiltonian operator for a set of coupled harmonic oscillators and determine the conditions for the existence of bound states. We consider the particular cases of two and three oscillators studied previously and show the conditions for bound states in the latter example that have been omitted in an earlier treatment of this model.

We apply the Schrödinger factorization to construct the ladder operators for hydrogen atom, Mie-type potential, harmonic oscillator and pseudo-harmonic oscillator in arbitrary dimensions. By generalizing these operators we show that the dynamical algebra for these problems is the $su(1,1)$ Lie algebra.

Normally, the half-harmonic oscillator is active when $x>0$ and absent when $x<0$. From a canonical quantization perspective, this leads to odd eigenfunctions being present while even eigenfunctions are absent. In that case, only the usual odd eigenfunctions will appear if the wall slides to negative infinity. However, if an affine quantization is used, sliding the wall away shows that all the odd and even eigenfunctions are encountered, exactly like any full-harmonic oscillator. We give an alternative formulation of the no-cloning theorem that applies to harmonic oscillator coherent states. It says that {\em unknown} single harmonic oscillator coherent states can not be {\em amplified}. Conversely it says that {\em known} harmonic oscillator coherent states can be directly amplified through an universal unitary process. It is also shown that such a formulation is needed for the consistency of {\em information cloning} proposed by us long ago.

We consider a quantum space with rotationally invariant noncommutative algebra of coordinates and momenta. The algebra contains tensors of noncommutativity constructed involving additional coordinates and momenta. We analyse the properties of a strongly-damped quantum harmonic oscillator by means of an exact diagonalisation of the full Hamiltonian, including both the oscillator and the reservoir degrees of freedom to which it is coupled. We study the consequences of the generalized Heisenberg uncertainty relation which admits a minimal uncertainty in length such as the case in a theory of quantum gravity. In particular, the theory of quantum harmonic oscillators arising from such a generalized uncertainty relation is examined. We propose a new approach to the quantization of the damped harmonic oscillator in the framework of deformation quantization. The quantization is performed in the Schrödinger picture by a star-product induced by a modified "Poisson bracket". We determine the eigenstates in the damped regime and compute the transition probability between states of the undamped harmonic oscillator after the system was submitted to dissipation.
