In the paper, we consider the initial value problem to the higher dimensional Euler equations in the whole space. Based on the new technical which is developed in \cite{Li2}, we proved that the data-to-solution map of this problem is not uniformly continuous in nonhomogeneous Besov spaces in the sense of Hadamard. Our obtained result improves considerably the recent result given by Pastrana \cite{Pastrana}.
We prove the non-uniform continuity of the data-to-solution map of the incompressible Euler equations in Besov spaces $B_{p,q}^{s}$, where the parameters $p, q$ and $s$ considered here are such that the local existence and uniqueness result holds.
The work is devoted to the relaxation limit in larger Besov spaces for compressible Euler equations, which contains previous results in Sobolev spaces and Besov spaces with critical regularity. Such an extension depends on a revision of commutator estimates and an elementary fact which indicates the connection between homogeneous and inhomogeneous Chemin-Lerner spaces.
We develop commutator estimates in the framework of Besov-Morrey spaces, which are modeled on Besov spaces and the underlying norm is of Morrey space rather than the usual $L^{p}$ space. As direct applications of commutator estimates, we establish the local well-posedness and blow-up criterion of solutions in Besov-Morrey spaces for the incompressible Euler equations and ideal MHD system. Main analysis tools are the Littlewood-Paley decomposition and Bony's para-product formula.
We consider the 3D Euler equations with Coriolis force (EC) in the whole space. We show long-time solvability in Besov spaces for high speed of rotation $Ω$ and arbitrary initial data. For that, we obtain $Ω$-uniform estimates and a blow-up criterion of BKM type in our framework. Our initial data class is larger than previous ones considered for (EC) and covers borderline cases of the regularity. The uniqueness of solutions is also discussed.
The relaxation limit in critical Besov spaces for the multidimensional compressible Euler equations is considered. As the first step of this justification, the uniform (global) classical solutions to the Cauchy problem with initial data close to an equilibrium state are constructed in the Chemin-Lerner's spaces with critical regularity. Furthermore, it is shown that the density converges towards the solution to the porous medium equation, as the relaxation time tends to zero. Several important estimates are achieved, including a crucial estimate of commutator.
In this paper, we mainly study the Cauchy problem of the Euler-Nernst-Planck-Possion ($ENPP$) system. We first establish local well-posedness for the Cauchy problem of the $ENPP$ system in Besov spaces. Then we present a blow-up criterion of solutions to the $ENPP$ system. Moreover, we prove that the solutions of the Navier-Stokes-Nernst-Planck-Possion system converge to the solutions of the $ENPP$ system as the viscosity $ν$ goes to zero, and that the convergence rate is at least of order $ν^\frac{1}{2}$.
In this paper, we study the well-posedness in critical Besov spaces for two-fluid Euler-Maxwell equations, which is different from the one fluid case. We need to deal with the difficulties mainly caused by the nonlinear coupling and cancelation between two carriers. Precisely, we first obtain the local existence and blow-up criterion of classical solutions to the Cauchy problem and periodic problem pertaining to data in Besov spaces with critical regularity. Furthermore, we construct the global existence of classical solutions with aid of a different energy estimate (in comparison with the one…
In the paper, we consider the Cauchy problem to the Euler equations in $\mathbb{R}^d$ with $d\geq2$. We construct an initial data $u_0\in B^σ_{p,\infty}$ showing that the corresponding solution map of the Euler equations starting from $u_0$ is discontinuous at $t = 0$ in the metric of $B^σ_{p,\infty}$, which implies the ill-posedness for this equation in $B^σ_{p,\infty}$. We generalize the periodic result of Cheskidov and Shvydkoy \cite{Cheskidov}.
We here construct (large) local and small global-in-time regular unique solutions to the fractional Euler alignment system in the whole space ${\mathbb R}^d$, in the case where the deviation of the initial density from a constant is sufficiently small. Our analysis strongly relies on the use of Besov spaces of the type $L^1(0,T;\dot B^s_{p,1})$, which allow to get time independent estimates for the density even though it satisfies a transport equation with no damping. Our choice of a functional setting is not optimal but aims at providing a transparent and accessible argumentation.
We construct an example showing that the solution map of the Euler equations is not continuous in the Hölder space from $C^{1,α}$ to $L^\infty_tC^{1,α}_x$ for any $0<α<1$. On the other hand we show that it is continuous when restricted to the little Hölder subspace $c^{1,α}$. We apply the latter to prove an ill-posedness result for solutions of the vorticity equations in Besov spaces near the critical space $B^1_{2,1}$. As a consequence we show that a sequence of best constants of the Sobolev embedding theorem near the critical function space is not continuous.
This work is the continuation of the recent paper \cite{D2} devoted to the density-dependent incompressible Euler equations. Here we concentrate on the well-posedness issue in Besov spaces of type $B^s_{\infty,r}$ embedded in the set of Lipschitz continuous functions, a functional framework which contains the particular case of Hölder spaces and of the endpoint Besov space $B^1_{\infty,1}.$ For such data and under the nonvacuum assumption, we establish the local well-posedness and a continuation criterion in the spirit of that of Beale, Kato and Majda in \cite{BKM}. In the last part of the pap…
This paper is devoted to the global existence and uniqueness results for the three-dimensional Boussinesq system with axisymmetric initial data $v^{0}{\in}B_{2,1}^{5/2}(\RR^3)$ and$ $ρ^{0}{\in}B_{2,1}^{1/2}(\RR^3)\cap L^{p}(\RR^3)$ with $p>6.$ This system couples the incompressible Euler equations with a transport-diffusion equation governing the density. In this case the Beale-Kato-Majda criterion is not known to be valid and to circumvent this difficulty we use in a crucial way some geometric properties of the vorticity.
Dissipative solutions have recently been studied as a generalized concept for weak solutions of the complete Euler system. Apparently, these are expectations of suitable measure-valued solutions. Motivated from [Feireisl, Ghoshal and Jana, Commun. Partial Differ. Equ., 2019], we impose a one-sided Lipschitz bound on velocity component as uniqueness criteria for a weak solution in Besov space $B^{α,\infty}_{p}$ with $α>1/2$. We prove that the Besov solution satisfying the above-mentioned condition is unique in the class of dissipative solutions. In the later part of this article, we prove that …
In this paper, we investigate the dependence on initial data of solutions to the Novikov equation. We show that the solution map is not uniformly continuous dependence on the initial data in Besov spaces $B^s_{p,r}(\R),\ s>\max\{1+\frac 1p,\frac32\}$.
In this paper, we prove that the solution map of Fokas_Olver_Rosenau_Qiao equation (FORQ) is not uniformly continuous on the initial data in Besov spaces. Our result extends the previous non_uniform continuity in Sobolev spaces (Nonlinear Anal., 2014) to Besov spaces and is consistent with the present work (J. Math. Fluid Mech., 2020) on Novikov equation up to some coefficients when dropping the extra term $(\partial_xu)^3$ in FORQ.
In the paper, we consider the initial value problem to the Camassa-Holm equation in the real-line case. Based on the local well-posedness result and the lifespan, we proved that the data-to-solution map of this problem is not uniformly continuous in nonhomogeneous Besov spaces in the sense of Hadamard. Our obtained result improves considerably the result in \cite{H-K}.
In this paper, we show that the solution map of the two-component Novikov system is not uniformly continuous on the initial data in Besov spaces $B_{p, r}^{s-1}(\mathbb{R})\times B_{p, r}^s(\mathbb{R})$ with $s>\max\{1+\frac{1}{p}, \frac{3}{2}\}$, $1\leq p< \infty$, $1\leq r<\infty$. Our result covers and extends the previous non-uniform continuity in Sobolev spaces $H^{s-1}(\mathbb{R})\times H^s(\mathbb{R})$ for $s>\frac{5}{2}$ (J. Math. Phys., 2017) to Besov spaces.
In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem for the generalized Camassa-Holm equation proposed by Hakkaev and Kirchev (2005) \cite{Hakkaev 2005}. We prove that the solution map of the generalized Camassa-Holm equation is not uniformly continuous on the initial data in Besov spaces. Our result include the present work (2020) \cite{Li 2020,Li 2020-1} on Camassa-Holm equation with $Q=1$ and extends the previous non-uniform continuity in Sobolev spaces (2015) \cite{Mi 2015} to Besov spaces. In addition, the non-uniform continuity in critical space $B_{2, 1}^{\frac{3}{2}}(\mathbb{R})$ is the firs…
Whether or not the data-to-solution map of the Cauchy problem for the Camassa-Holm equation and Novikov equation in the critical Besov space $B_{2,1}^{3/2}(\R)$ is not uniformly continuous remains open. In the paper, we aim at solving the open question left the previous works in \cite{Li3,Li4} and give a positive answer to this problem.
In this paper, we first establish the local well-posedness and continuous dependence for the rotation Camassa-Holm equation modelling the equatorial water waves with the weak Coriolis effect in nonhomogeneous Besov spaces $B^s_{p,r}$ with $s>1+1/p$ or $s=1+1/p,\ p\in[1,+\infty),\ r=1$ by a new way: the compactness argument and Lagrangian coordinate transformation, which removes the index constraint $s>3/2$ and improves our previous work \cite{guoy1}. Then, we prove the solution is not uniformly continuous dependence on the initial data in both supercritical and critical Besov spaces.
In this paper, we first establish the local well-posedness (existence, uniqueness and continuous dependence) for the Fornberg-Whitham equation in both supercritical Besov spaces $B^s_{p,r},\ s>1+\frac{1}{p},\ 1\leq p,r\leq+\infty$ and critical Besov spaces $B^{1+\frac{1}{p}}_{p,1},\ 1\leq p<+\infty$, which improves the previous work \cite{y2,ho,ht}. Then, we prove the solution is not uniformly continuous dependence on the initial data in supercritical Besov spaces $B^s_{p,r},\ s>1+\frac{1}{p},\ 1\leq p\leq+\infty,\ 1\leq r<+\infty$ and critical Besov spaces $B^{1+\frac{1}{p}}_{p,1},\ 1\leq p<+…
In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem of a two-component b-family system, which includes the two-component Camassa-Holm system and the two-component Degasperis-Procesi system. It is shown that the solution map of the two-component b-family system is not uniformly continuous on the initial data in Besov spaces $B_{p, r}^{s-1}(\mathbb{R})\times B_{p, r}^s(\mathbb{R})$ with $s>\max\{1+\frac{1}{p}, \frac{3}{2}\}$, $1\leq p, r< \infty$. Our result covers and extends the previous non-uniform continuity in Sobolev spaces $H^{s-1}(\mathbb{R})\times H^s(\mathbb{R})$ for $s>\frac{5}{2}$ (Nonline…
We give a construction of a divergence-free vector field $u_0 \in H^s \cap B^{-1}_{\infty,\infty}$, for all $s<1/2$, such that any Leray-Hopf solution to the Navier-Stokes equation starting from $u_0$ is discontinuous at $t=0$ in the metric of $B^{-1}_{\infty,\infty}$. For the Euler equation a similar result is proved in all Besov spaces $B^s_{r,\infty}$ where $s>0$ if $r>2$, and $s>n(2/r-1)$ if $1 \leq r \leq 2$.
Considered in this paper is the generalized Camassa-Holm-Novikov equation with high order nonlinearity, which unifies the Camassa-Holm and Novikov equations as special cases. We show that the solution map of generalized Camassa-Holm-Novikov equation is not uniformly continuous on the initial data in Besov spaces $B_{p, r}^s(\mathbb{R})$ with $s>\max\{1+\frac{1}{p}, \frac{3}{2}\}$, $1\leq p, r< \infty$ as well as in critical space $B_{2, 1}^{\frac{3}{2}}(\mathbb{R}).$ Our result covers and improves the previous work given by Li et al. \cite{Li 2020, 1Li 2020, Li 2021}(J. Differ. Equ. 269 (2020)…
For Besov spaces $B^s_{p,r}(\rr)$ with $s>\max\{ 2 + \frac1p , \frac52\} $, $p \in (1,\infty]$ and $r \in [1 , \infty)$, it is proved that the data-to-solution map for the FORQ equation is not uniformly continuous from $B^s_{p,r}(\rr)$ to $C([0,T]; B^s_{p,r}(\rr))$. The proof of non-uniform dependence is based on approximate solutions and the Littlewood-Paley decomposition.
We prove the inviscid limit of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in the same topology of Besov spaces as the initial data. The proof is based on proving the continuous dependence of the Navier-Stokes equations uniformly with respect to the viscosity. To show the latter, we rely on some Bona-Smith type method in the $L^p$ setting. Our obtained result implies a new result that the Cauchy problem of the Euler equations is locally well-posed in the borderline Besov space $B^{\frac dp+1}_{p,1}(\mathbb{R}^d)$, $1\leq p\leq \infty$, $d\geq 2$, in the sense of Hadmard, which is an open proble…
In this paper, we investigate the dependence on initial data of solutions to higher dimensional Camassa-Holm equations. We show that the data-to-solution map is not uniformly continuous dependence in Besov spaces $B^s_{p,r}(\mathbb{R}^d),s>\max\{1+\frac d2,\frac32\}$.
The present paper is devoted to the study of the well-posedness issue for the density-dependent Euler equations in the whole space. We establish local-in-time results for the Cauchy problem pertaining to data in the Besov spaces embedded in the set of Lipschitz functions, including the borderline case $B^{\frac Np+1}_{p,1}(\R^N).$ A continuation criterion in the spirit of the celebrated one by Beale-Kato-Majda for the classical Euler equations, is also proved. In contrast with the previous work dedicated to this system in the whole space, our approach is not restricted to the $L^2$ framework o…
We prove the continuous dependence of the solution maps for the Euler equations in the (critical) Triebel-Lizorkin spaces, which was not shown in the previous works(\cite{Ch02, Ch03, ChMiZh10}). The proof relies on the classical Bona-Smith method as \cite{GuLiYi18}, where similar result was obtained in critical Besov spaces $B^1_{\infty,1}$.
This paper deals with the global well-posedness of the 3D axisymmetric Euler equations for initial data lying in critical Besov spaces $B_{p,1}^{1+3/p}$. In this case the BKM criterion is not known to be valid and to circumvent this difficulty we use a new decomposition of the vorticity.
In this paper we mainly investigate the initial value problem of the periodic Euler-Poincaré equations. We first present a new blow-up result to the system for a special class of smooth initial data by using the rotational invariant properties of the system. Then, we prove that the periodic Euler-Poincaré equations is ill-posed in critical Besov spaces by a contradiction argument. Finally, we verify the system possesses a class of peakon solutions in the sense of distributions.
In this paper, we obtain the local-in-time existence and uniqueness of solution to the Degasperis-Procesi equation in $B^1_{\infty,1}(\R)$. Moreover, we prove that the data-to-solution of this equation is continuous but not uniformly continuous in $B^1_{\infty,1}$.
In this paper, we study the Cauchy problem of the compressible Euler system with strongly singular velocity alignment. We prove the existence and uniqueness of global solutions in critical Besov spaces to the considered system with small initial data. The local-in-time solvability is also addressed. Moreover, we show the large-time asymptotic behavior and optimal decay estimates of the solutions as $t\to \infty$.
Given any solution $u$ of the Euler equations which is assumed to have some regularity in space - in terms of Besov norms, natural in this context - we show by interpolation methods that it enjoys a corresponding regularity in time and that the associated pressure $p$ is twice as regular as $u$. This generalizes a recent result by Isett [16] (see also Colombo and De Rosa [8]), which covers the case of Hölder spaces.
We prove that bounded weak solutions of the compressible Euler equations will conserve thermodynamic entropy unless the solution fields have sufficiently low space-time Besov regularity. A quantity measuring kinetic energy cascade will also vanish for such Euler solutions, unless the same singularity conditions are satisfied. It is shown furthermore that strong limits of solutions of compressible Navier-Stokes equations that are bounded and exhibit anomalous dissipation are weak Euler solutions. These inviscid limit solutions have non-negative anomalous entropy production and kinetic energy di…
We consider the multidimensional Euler-Poisson equations with non-zero heat conduction, which consist of a coupled hyperbolic-parabolic-elliptic system of balance laws. We make a deep analysis on the coupling effects and establish a local well-posedness of classical solutions to the Cauchy problem pertaining to data in the critical Besov space. Proof mainly relies on a standard iteration argument. To achieve it, a new Moser-type inequality is developed by the Bony' decomposition.
We prove that in dimensions three and higher the Landau-Lifshitz- Gilbert equation with small initial data in the critical Besov space is globally wellposed in a uniform way with respect to the Gilbert damping parameter. Then we show that the global solution converges to that of the Schrodinger maps in the natural space as the Gilbert damping term vanishes. The proof is based on some studies on the derivative Ginzburg-Landau equations.
We show that the incompressible Euler equations on $\mathbb{R}^2$ are not locally well-posed in the sense of Hadamard in the Besov space $B^1_{\infty,1}$. Our approach relies on the technique of Lagrangian deformations of Bourgain and Li. We show that the assumption that the data-to-solution map is continuous in $B^1_{\infty,1}$ leads to a contradiction with a well-posedness result in $W^{1,p}$ of Kato and Ponce.
We give a new decay framework for general dissipative hyperbolic system and hyperbolic-parabolic composite system, which allow us to pay less attention on the traditional spectral analysis in comparison with previous efforts. New ingredients lie in the high-frequency and low-frequency decomposition of a pseudo-differential operator and an interpolation inequality related to homogeneous Besov spaces of negative order. Furthermore, we develop the Littlewood-Paley pointwise energy estimates and new time-weighted energy functionals to establish the optimal decay estimates on the framework of spati…
This paper addresses the problem of energy conservation for the two- and three-dimensional density-dependent Euler equations. Two types of sufficient conditions on the regularity of solutions are provided to ensure the conservation of total kinetic energy on the entire time interval including the initial time. The first class of data assumes integrability on the spatial gradient of the density, and hence covers the classical result of Constantin-E-Titi for the homogeneous Euler equations. The other type of data imposes extra time Besov regularity on the velocity profile, and the corresponding …
In this paper, the existence and asymptotic behavior of $C^1$ solutions to the multidimensional compressible Euler equations with damping on the framework of Besov space are considered. We weaken the regularity requirement of the initial data, and improve the well-posedness results of Sideris-Thomases-Wang (Comm.P.D.E. 28 (2003) 953). The global existence lies on a crucial a-priori estimate which is proved by the spectral localization method. The main analytic tools are the Littlewood-Paley decomposition and Bony's para-product formula.
We are concerned with the Cauchy problem of the full compressible Navier-Stokes equations satisfied by viscous and heat conducting fluids in $\mathbb{R}^n.$ We focus on the so-called critical Besov regularity framework. In this setting, it is natural to consider initial densities $ρ_0,$ velocity fields $u_0$ and temperatures $θ_0$ with $a_0:=ρ_0-1\in\dot B^{\frac np}_{p,1},$ $u_0\in\dot B^{\frac np-1}_{p,1}$ and $θ_0\in\dot B^{\frac np-2}_{p,1}.$ After recasting the whole system in Lagrangian coordinates, and working with the \emph{total energy along the flow} rather than with the temperature,…
The Navier-Stokes equation on Rd (d greater or equal to 3) formulated on Besov spaces is considered. Using a stochastic forward-backward differential system, the local existence of a unique solution in B_ r, with r > 1 + d is obtained. We also show p,p p the convergence to solutions of the Euler equation when the viscosity tends to zero. Moreover, we prove the local existence of a unique solution in B_ pr,q, with p > 1, 1 greater or equal to q greater or equal to infinity, r > max(1, d); here the maximal time interval depends on p the viscosity.
