We consider the non autonomous dynamical system $\{τ_{n}\},$ where $τ_{n}$ is a continuous map $X\rightarrow X,$ and $X$ is a compact metric space. We assume that $\{τ_{n}\}$ converges uniformly to $τ.$ The inheritance of chaotic properties as well as topological entropy by $τ$ from the sequence $\{τ_{n}\}$ has been studied in \cite{Can1, Can2, Li,Ste,Zhu}. In \cite{You} the generalization of SRB\ measures to non-autonomous systems has been considered. In this paper we study absolutely continuous invariant measures (acim) for non autonomous systems. After generalizing the Krylov-Bogoliubov Theorem \cite{KB} and Straube's Theorem \cite{Str} to the non autonomous setting, we prove that under certain conditions the limit map $τ$ of a non autonomous sequence of maps $\{τ_n\}$ with acims has an acim.
We show that for the C^1-open set of partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms constructed in (M. Shub and A. Wilkinson, "Pathological foliations and removable zero exponents," Invent. math. 139 (2000) 3, 495-508), Lebesgue measure on the 3-torus decomposes as atomic measure along the leaves of the central foliation.
In this paper we study a class of \emph{self-consistent dynamical systems}, self-consistent in the sense that the discrete time dynamics is different in each step depending on current statistics. The general framework admits popular examples such as coupled map systems. Motivated by an example of M. Blank, we concentrate on a special case where the dynamics in each step is a $β$-map with some $β\geq 2$. Included in the definition of $β$ is a parameter $\varepsilon > 0$ controlling the strength of self-consistency. We show such a self-consistent system which has a unique absolutely continuous i…
We prove existence of (at most denumerable many) absolutely continuous invariant probability measures for random one-dimensional dynamical systems with asymptotic expansion. If the rate of expansion (Lyapunov exponents) is bounded away from zero, we obtain finitely many ergodic absolutely continuous invariant probability measures, describing the asymptotics of almost every point. We also prove a similar result for higher-dimensional random non-uniformly expanding dynamical systems. The results are consequences of the construction of such measures for skew-products with essentially arbitrary ba…
In this article, we study algebraic dynamical pairs $(f,a)$ parametrized by an irreducible quasi-projective curve $Λ$ having an absolutely continuous bifurcation measure. We prove that, if $f$ is non-isotrivial and $(f,a)$ is unstable, this is equivalent to the fact that $f$ is a family of Lattès maps. To do so, we prove the density of transversely prerepelling parameters in the bifucation locus of $(f,a)$ and a similarity property, at any transversely prerepelling parameter $λ_0$, between the measure $μ_{f,a}$ and the maximal entropy measure of $f_{λ_0}$. We also establish an equivalent resul…
One of the simplest non-Pisot substitution rules is investigated in its geometric version as a tiling with intervals of natural length as prototiles. Via a detailed renormalisation analysis of the pair correlation functions, we show that the diffraction measure cannot comprise any absolutely continuous component. This implies that the diffraction, apart from a trivial Bragg peak at the origin, is purely singular continuous. En route, we derive various geometric and algebraic properties of the underlying Delone dynamical system, which we expect to be relevant in other such systems as well.
A general construction for $σ-$finite absolutely continuous invariant measure will be presented. It will be shown that the local bounded distortion of the Radon-Nykodym derivatives of $f^n_*(λ)$ will imply the existence of a $σ-$finite invariant measure for the map $f$ which is absolutely continuous with respect to $λ$, a measure on the phase space describing the sets of measure zero. Furthermore we will discuss sufficient conditions for the existence of $σ-$finite invariant absolutely continuous measures for real 1-dimensional dynamical systems.
By generalising Rudin's construction of an aperiodic sequence, we derive new substitution-based structures which have purely absolutely continuous diffraction and mixed dynamical spectrum, with absolutely continuous and pure point parts. We discuss several examples, including a construction based on Fourier matrices which yields constant-length substitutions for any length.
Consider a dynamical system $T:\mathbb{T}\times \mathbb{R}^{d} \rightarrow \mathbb{T}\times \mathbb{R}^{d} $ given by $ T(x,y) = (E(x), C(y) + f(x))$, where $E$ is a linear expanding map of $\mathbb{T}$, $C$ is a linear contracting map of $\mathbb{R}^d$ and $f$ is in $C^2(\mathbb{T},\mathbb{R}^d)$. We prove that if $T$ is volume expanding and $u\geq d$, then for every $E$ there exists an open set $\mathcal{U}$ of pairs $(C,f)$ for which the corresponding dynamic $T$ admits an absolutely continuous invariant probability. A geometrical characteristic of transversality between self-intersections …
In this paper we study topological entropy and recurrence properties of non-autonomous dynamical system generated by a family of continuous self maps on a compact space X. Specially, we introduce the pseudo-entropy and periodic-pseudo-entropy and prove their equivalence with the topological entropy for non-autonomous dynamical systems.
We consider the pullback attractors for non-autonomous dynamical systems generated by stochastic lattice differential equations with non-autonomous deterministic terms. We first establish a sufficient condition for existence of pullback attractors of lattice dynamical systems with both non-autonomous deterministic and random forcing terms. As an application of the abstract theory, we prove the existence of a unique pullback attractor for the first-order lattice dynamical systems with both deterministic non-autonomous forcing terms and multiplicative white noise. Our results recover many existi…
Pesin's formula relates the entropy of a dynamical system with its positive Lyapunov exponents. It is well known, that this formula holds true for random dynamical systems on a compact Riemannian manifold with invariant probability measure which is absolutely continuous with respect to the Lebesgue measure. We will show that this formula remains true for random dynamical systems on $R^d$ which have an invariant probability measure absolutely continuous to the Lebesgue measure on $R^d$. Finally we will show that a broad class of stochastic flows on $R^d$ of a Kunita type satisfies Pesin's formu…
We consider stationary ergodic processes indexed by $\mathbb Z$ or $\mathbb Z^n$ whose finite dimensional marginals have laws which are absolutely continuous with respect to Lebesgue measure. We define an entropy theory for these continuous processes, prove an analog of the Shannon Breiman Mac Millan theorem and study more precisely the particular example of Gaussian processes.
It is well known that open dynamical systems can admit an uncountable number of (absolutely continuous) conditionally invariant measures (ACCIMs) for each prescribed escape rate. We propose and illustrate a convex optimisation based selection scheme (essentially maximum entropy) for gaining numerical access to some of these measures. The work is similar to the Maximum Entropy (MAXENT) approach for calculating absolutely continuous invariant measures of nonsingular dynamical systems, but contains some interesting new twists, including: (i) the natural escape rate is not known in advance, which …
In this paper we extend the definitions of mean dimension and metric mean di-mension for non-autonomous dynamical systems. We show some properties of this extension and furthermore some applications to the mean dimension and metric mean dimension of single continuous maps.
In this paper we consider sufficient conditions for the existence of uniform compact global attractor for non-autonomous dynamical systems in special classes of infinite-dimensional phase spaces. The obtained generalizations allow us to avoid the restrictive compactness assumptions on the space of shifts of non-autonomous terms in particular evolution problems. The results are applied to several evolution inclusions.
In this paper, we investigate the dynamics on the hyperspace induced by a non-autonomous dynamical system $(X,\mathbb{F})$, where the non-autonomous system is generated by a sequence $(f_n)$ of continuous self maps on $X$. We relate the dynamical behavior of the induced system on the hyperspace with the dynamical behavior of the original system $(X,\mathbb{F})$. We derive conditions under which the dynamical behavior of the non-autonomous system extends to its induced counterpart(and vice-versa). In the process, we discuss properties like transitivity, weak mixing, topological mixing, topologi…
We study random perturbations of multidimensional piecewise expanding maps. We characterize absolutely continuous stationary measures (acsm) of randomly perturbed dynamical systems in terms of pseudo-orbits linking the ergodic components of absolutely invariant measures (acim) of the unperturbed system. We focus on those components, called least-elements, which attract pseudo-orbits. We show that each least element admits a neighbourhood which supports exactly one ergodic acsm of the random system. We use this result to identify random perturbations that exhibit a metastable behavior.
For discrete autonomous dynamical systems (ADS) $(X, d, f)$, it was found that in the three conditions defining Devaney chaos, topological transitivity and dense periodic points together imply sensitive dependence on initial condition(Banks, Brooks, Cairns, Davis and Stacey, 1992). In this paper, the result of Banks et al. is generalized to a class of the non-autonomous dynamical systems (NADS) $(X,f_{1,\infty})$. Also, by the studying of NADS over their iterated systems $(X,f_{1,\infty}^{[k]})$, we know that for two sensitive NADS, the one which preserve sensitive in its any times iterated sy…
In this paper, the interrelations of some dynamical properties of the non-autonomous dynamical system (X, f1;infinity) and its induced non-autonomous dynamical system (K(X), f1;infinity) are studied, where K(X) is the hyperspace of all non-empty compact subsets of X, endowed with Vietoris topology. Various stronger forms of sensitivity and transitivity are considered. Some examples of non-autonomous systems are provided to support the results. A relation between shadowing property of the non- autonomous system (X, f1;infinity) and its induced system (K(X), f1;infinity) is studied.
In this paper, we study continuum-wise expansive non-autonomous discrete dynamical systems. We discuss various properties of such non-autonomous systems. We further obtain results for cw-expansive non-autonomous systems with shadowing property and obtain an important equivalence. \keywords{Non-autonomous dynamical systems, continuum-wise expansive, shadowing property
This note concerns non-autonomous dynamics of rational functions and, more precisely, the fractal behavior of the Julia sets under perturbation of non-autonomous systems. We provide a necessary and sufficient condition for holomorphic stability which leads to Hölder continuity of dimensions of hyperbolic non-autonomous Julia sets with respect to the $l^\infty$-topology on the parameter space. On the other hand we show that, for some particular family, the Hausdorff and packing dimension functions are not differentiable at any point and that these dimensions are not equal on an open dense set o…
Ovadia and Rodriguez-Hertz (Neutralized local entropy, arXiv:2302.10874) defined the neutralized Bowen open ball for an autonomous dynamical system on a compact metric space. Replacing the usual Bowen open ball with neutralized Bowen open ball, we introduce the notions of neutralized Bowen topological entropy of subsets, neutralized weighted Bowen topological entropy of subsets, lower neutralized Brin-Katok's local entropy of Borel probability measures, and neutralized Katok's entropy of Borel probability measures for a non-autonomous dynamical system on a compact metric space. Then, we establ…
In this paper, we discuss the dynamics of alterations and rearrangements of a non-autonomous dynamical system generated by the family $\mathbb{F}$. We prove that while insertion/deletion of a map in the family $\mathbb{F}$ can disturb the dynamics of a system, the dynamics of the system does not change if the map inserted/deleted is feeble open. In the process, we prove that if the inserted/deleted map is feeble open, the altered system exhibits any form of mixing/sensitivity if and only if the original system exhibits the same. We extend our investigations to properties like equicontinuity, m…
We prove that if $J$ is the limit set of an irreducible conformal iterated function system (with either finite or countably infinite alphabet), then the badly approximable vectors form a set of full Hausdorff dimension in $J$. The same is true if $J$ is the radial Julia set of an irreducible meromorphic function (either rational or transcendental). The method of proof is to find subsets of $J$ that support absolutely friendly and Ahlfors regular measures of large dimension. In the appendix to this paper, we answer a question of Broderick, Kleinbock, Reich, Weiss, and the second-named author ('…
This paper shows that (1) there exists a topologically transitive NADS having two disjoint invariant periodic orbits with dense periodic points, which is finitely generated but not periodic; (2) there exists a topologically transitive non-finitely generated NADS having two disjoint invariant periodic orbits with dense periodic point, which is not sensitive. This answers positively the Open Problems 4.1 and 4.2 posed in [8].
We prove the equivalence between the existence of a non-trivial hitting time statistics law and Extreme Value Laws in the case of dynamical systems with measures which are not absolutely continuous with respect to Lebesgue. This is a counterpart to the result of the authors in the absolutely continuous case. Moreover, we prove an equivalent result for returns to dynamically defined cylinders. This allows us to show that we have Extreme Value Laws for various dynamical systems with equilibrium states with good mixing properties. In order to achieve these goals we tailor our observables to the f…
We study a random dynamical system such that one transformation is randomly selected from a family of transformations and then applied on each iteration. For such random dynamical systems, we consider estimates of absolutely continuous invariant measures. Since the random dynamical systems are made by complicated compositions of many deterministic maps and probability density functions, it is difficult to estimate the invariant measures. To get rid of this difficulty, we present fundamental comparison theorems which make easier the estimates of invariant measures of random maps. We also demons…
In this paper, a non-autonomous stochastic logistic system is considered. An interesting result on the effect of stochastically perturbation for the dynamic behavior are obtained. That is, under certain conditions the stochastic system have similar dynamic behave with the deterministic system, but if the noise is sufficiently large, it will spoil these nice properties. Furthermore, we introduce a new research method for studying the stochastic equation and some new sufficient conditions for the stochastic bounded, stochastic permanence, extinction and global attractivity of the system are esta…
We analyze the chain recurrent set of skew product semiflows obtained from nonautonomous differential equations -- ordinary differential equations or semilinear parabolic differential equations. For many gradient-like dynamical systems, Morse-Smale dynamical systems e.g., the chain recurrent set contains only isolated equilibria. The structure in the asymptotically autonomous setting is richer but still close to to the structure of a Morse-Smale dynamical system. The main tool used in this paper is a nonautonomous flavour of Conley index theory developed by the author. We will see that for a c…
This paper discusses the variational principles on subsets for topological pressure and topological entropy of non-autonomous dynamical systems. We define the Pesin-Pitskel topological pressure (weighted topological pressure) and the Bowen topological entropy (weighted Bowen topological entropy) for any subset. Also, we define the measure-theoretic pressure and the measure-theoretic lower entropy for all Borel probability measures. Then, we prove variational principles for topological pressure (topological entropy) which links the Pesin-Pitskel topological pressure (weighted topological pressu…
In this paper, we discuss dynamical behavior of a non-autonomous system generated by a finite family $\mathbb{F}$. In the process, we relate the dynamical behavior of the non-autonomous system generated by the family $\mathbb{F}=\{f_1,f_2,\ldots,f_k\}$ with the dynamical behavior of the system $(X,f_k\circ f_{k-1}\circ\ldots\circ f_1)$. We discuss properties like minimality, equicontinuity, proximality and various forms of sensitivities for the two systems. We derive conditions under which the dynamical behavior of $(X,f_k\circ f_{k-1}\circ\ldots\circ f_1)$ is carried forward to $(X,\mathbb{F}…
In this paper we study the dynamics of a general non-autonomous dynamical system generated by a family of continuous self maps on a compact space $X$. We derive necessary and sufficient conditions for the system to exhibit complex dynamical behavior. In the process we discuss properties like transitivity, weakly mixing, topologically mixing, minimality, sensitivity, topological entropy and Li-Yorke chaoticity for the non-autonomous system. We also give examples to prove that the dynamical behavior of the non-autonomous system in general cannot be characterized in terms of the dynamical behavio…
We prove that steady state bifurcations in finite-dimensional dynamical systems that are symmetric with respect to a monoid representation generically occur along an absolutely indecomposable subrepresentation. This is stated as a conjecture in B. Rink and J. Sanders, "Coupled cell networks and their hidden symmetries", SIAM J. Math. Anal., 46 (2014). It is a generalization of the well-known fact that generic steady state bifurcations in equivariant dynamical systems occur along an absolutely irreducible subrepresentation if the symmetries form a group - finite or compact Lie. Our generalizati…
This paper studies a control method for switching stable coexisting attractors of a class of non-autonomous dynamical systems. The central idea is to introduce a continuous path for the system's trajectory to transition from its original undesired stable attractor to a desired one by varying one of the system parameters according to the information of the desired attractor. The behaviour of the control is studied numerically for both non-smooth and smooth dynamical systems, using a sof-impact and a Duffing oscillator as examples. Special attention is given to identify the regions where the pro…
This article establishes the foundation for a new theory of invariant/integral manifolds for non-autonomous dynamical systems. Current rigorous support for dimensional reduction modelling of slow-fast systems is limited by the rare events in stochastic systems that may cause escape, and limited in many applications by the unbounded nature of PDE operators. To circumvent such limitations, we initiate developing a backward theory of invariant/integral manifolds that complements extant forward theory. Here, for deterministic non-autonomous ODE systems, we construct a conjugacy with a normal form …
Let $M$ be a compact Riemannian manifold. The set $\text{F}^{r}(M)$ consisting of sequences $(f_{i})_{i\in\mathbb{Z}}$ of $C^{r}$-diffeomorphisms on $M$ can be endowed with the compact topology or with the strong topology. A notion of topological entropy is given for these sequences. I will prove this entropy is discontinuous at each sequence if we consider the compact topology on $\text{F}^{r}(M)$. On the other hand, if $ r\geq 1$ and we consider the strong topology on $\text{F}^{r}(M)$, this entropy is a continuous map.
The authors consider non-autonomous dynamical behavior of wave-type evolutionary equations with nonlinear damping and critical nonlinearity. These type of waves equations are formulated as non-autonomous dynamical systems (namely, cocycles). A sufficient and necessary condition for the existence of pullback attractors is established for norm-to-weak continuous non-autonomous dynamical systems, in terms of pullback asymptotic compactness or pullback $κ-$contraction criteria. A technical method for verifying pullback asymptotic compactness, via contractive functions, is devised. These results ar…
We construct a family of polynomials with real coefficients that contains as a particular case the Fejér and Suffridge polynomials. These polynomials allow us to suggest a robust algorithm to search for cycles of arbitrary length in non-linear autonomous discrete dynamical systems. Numeric examples are included.
Sinai-Ruelle-Bowen measures are the only physically observable invariant measures for billiard dynamical systems under small perturbations. These measures are singular, but as it was observed, marginal distributions of spatial and angular coordinates are absolutely continuous. We generalize these facts and provide full mathematical proofs.
We develop a general compactification framework to facilitate analysis of nonlinear nonautonomous ODEs where nonautonomous terms decay asymptotically. The strategy is to compactify the problem: the phase space is augmented with a bounded but open dimension and then extended at one or both ends by gluing in flow-invariant subspaces that carry autonomous dynamics of the limit systems from infinity. We derive the weakest decay conditions possible for the compactified system to be continuously differentiable on the extended phase space. This enables us to use equilibria and other compact invariant…

We construct a ring of flows where we can decompose autonomous nonlinear dynamical systems into smaller parts, then solve each part and finally put everything together to obtain the exact solution of these systems.
We introduce a family of dynamical systems that generate negative $β$-expansions and study the support of the invariant measure which is absolutely continuous with respect to Lebesgue measure. We give a characterization of the set of digit sequences that is produced by a typical member of this family of transformations. We discuss the meaning of greedy expansions in the negative sense, and show that there is no transformation in the introduced family of dynamical systems that generates negative greedy. However, if one looks at random algorithms, then it is possible to define a greedy expansion…
We provide a closed formula of Bowen type for the Hausdorff dimension of a very general shrinking target scheme generated by the non-autonomous dynamical system on the interval $[0,1)$, viewed as $\mathbb{R}/\mathbb{Z}$, corresponding to a given method of Cantor series expansion. We also examine a wide class of examples utilizing our theorem. In particular, we provide a Diophantine approximation interpretation of our scheme.
