We consider a Demazure slice of type $A_{2l}^{(2)}$, that is an associated graded piece of an infinite-dimensional version of a Demazure module. We show that a global Weyl module of a hyperspecial current algebra of type $A_{2l}^{(2)}$ is filtered by Demazure slices. We calculate extensions between a Demazure slice and a usual Demazure module and prove that a graded character of a Demazure slice is equal to a nonsymmetric Macdonald-Koornwinder polynomial divided by its norm. In the last section, we prove that a global Weyl module of the special current algebra of type $A_{2l}^{(2)}$ is a free module over the polynomial ring arising as the endomorphism ring of itself.
We consider expansions of products of theta-functions associated with arbitrary root systems in terms of nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials at $t=\infty$ divided by their norms. The latter are identified with the graded characters of Demazure slices, some canonical quotients of thick (upper) level-one Demazure modules, directly related to recent theory of generalized (nonsymmetric) global Weyl modules. The symmetric Rogers-Ramanujan-type series considered by Cherednik-Feigin were expected to have some interpretation of this kind; the nonsymmetric setting appeared necessary to achieve this. As …
We show that every Weyl module for a current algebra has a filtration whose successive quotients are isomorphic to Demazure modules, and that the path model for a tensor product of level zero fundamental representations is isomorphic to a disjoint union of Demazure crystals. Moreover, we show that the Demazure modules appearing in these two objects coincide exactly. Though these results have been previously known in the simply laced case, they are new in the non-simply laced case.
For a classical group $G$ and a Coxeter element $c$ of the Weyl group, it is known that the coordinate ring $\mathbb{C}[G^{e,c^2}]$ of the double Bruhat cell $G^{e,c^2}:=B\cap B_-c^2B_-$ has a structure of cluster algebra of finite type, where $B$ and $B_-$ are opposite Borel subgroups. In this article, we consider the case $G$ is of type ${\rm B}_r$, ${\rm C}_r$ or ${\rm D}_r$ and describe all the cluster variables in $\mathbb{C}[G^{e,c^2}]$ as monomial realizations of certain Demazure crystals.
The goal of this paper is to understand the graded limit of a family of irreducible prime representations of the quantum affine algebra associated to a simply-laced simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. This family was introduced by David Hernandez and Bernard Leclerc in the context of monoidal categorification of cluster algebras. The graded limit of a member of this family is an indecomposable graded module for the current algebra $\mathfrak{g}[t]$; or equivalently a module for the maximal standard parabolic subalgebra in the affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}$. In this paper we study t…
Let $G$ be a simply connected simple algebraic group over $\mathbb{C}$, $B$ and $B_-$ be its two opposite Borel subgroups. For two elements $u$, $v$ of the Weyl group $W$, it is known that the coordinate ring ${\mathbb C}[G^{u,v}]$ of the double Bruhat cell $G^{u,v}=BuB\cap B_-vB_-$ is isomorphic to a cluster algebra $\mathcal{A}(\textbf{i})_{\mathbb C}$ [arXiv:math/0305434, arXiv:1602.00498]. In the case $u=e$, $v=c^2$ ($c$ is a Coxeter element), the algebra ${\mathbb C}[G^{e,c^2}]$ has only finitely many cluster variables. In this article, for $G={\rm SL}_{r+1}(\mathbb{C})$, we obtain explic…
Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a finite-dimensional complex simple Lie algebra with highest root $θ$ and let $\mathfrak{g}[t]$ be the corresponding current algebra. In this paper, we consider the $\mathfrak{g}[t]$-stable Demazure modules associated to integrable highest weight representations of the affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}$. We prove that the fusion product of Demazure modules of a given level with a single Demazure module of a different level and with highest weight a multiple of $θ$ is a generalized Demazure module, and also give defining relations. This also shows that the fusion …
For a minimal affinization over a quantum loop algebra of type BC, we provide a character formula in terms of Demazure operators and multiplicities in terms of crystal bases. We also provide a simple formula for the limit of characters. These are achieved by verifying that its graded limit (a variant of a classical limit) is isomorphic to some multiple generalization of a Demazure module, and by determining the defining relations of the graded limit.
We provide identities of inverse Chevalley type for the graded characters of level-zero Demazure submodules of extremal weight modules over a quantum affine algebra of type $C$. These identities express the product $e^μ \, \mathrm{gch} \, V_{x}^{-}(λ)$ of the (one-dimensional) character $e^μ$, where $μ$ is a (not necessarily dominant) minuscule weight, with the graded character $\mathrm{gch} \, V_{x}^{-}(λ)$ of the level-zero Demazure submodule $V_{x}^{-}(λ)$ over the quantum affine algebra $U_{\mathsf{q}}(\mathfrak{g}_{\mathrm{af}})$ as an explicit finite linear combination of the graded char…
We study finite dimensional representations of current algebras, loop algebras and their quantized versions. For the current algebra of a simple Lie algebra of type {\tt ADE}, we show that Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules and Weyl modules are in fact all Demazure modules. As a consequence one obtains an elementary proof of the dimension formula for Weyl modules for the current and the loop algebra. Further, we show that the crystals of the Weyl and the Demazure module are the same up to some additional label zero arrows for the Weyl module. For the current algebra $\Lgc$ of an arbitrary simple Lie…
The Key map is an important tool in the determination of the Demazure crystals associated to Kac-Moody algebras. In finite type A, it can be computed in the tableau realization of crystals by a simple combinatorial procedure due to Lascoux and Sch{ü}tzenberger. We show that this procedure is a part of a more general construction holding in the Kac-Moody case that we illustrate in finite types and affine type A. In affine type A, we introduce higher level generalizations of core partitions which notably give interesting analogues of the Young lattice and are expected to parametrize distinguishe…
Demazure characters of type A, which are equivalent to key polynomials, have been decomposed by Lascoux and Schützenberger into standard bases. We prove that the resulting polynomials, which we call Demazure atoms, can be obtained from a certain specialization of nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials. This combinatorial interpretation for Demazure atoms accelerates the computation of the right key associated to a semi-standard Young tableau. Utilizing a related construction, we provide a new combinatorial description for the key polynomials.
We study the PBW filtration on the Demazure modules $V_{r_γ}(λ)$ associated to reflections $r_γ$ at positive roots in type $A_n$, long roots in type $C_n$, short roots in type $B_n$ and positive roots not involving the simple root $α_{n-1}$ in type $D_n$. In each type, we construct a normal polytope labelling a basis for the associated graded space $\operatorname{gr} V_{r_γ}(λ)$ and prove that the annihilating ideal of $\operatorname{gr} V_{r_γ}(λ)$ is a monomial ideal.
We construct a Poincare-Birkhoff-Witt type basis for the Weyl modules of the current algebra of $sl_{r+1}$. As a corollary we prove a conjecture made by Chari and Pressley on the dimension of the Weyl modules in this case. Further, we relate the Weyl modules to the fusion modules of the current algebra defined by Feigin and Loktev, and to the Demazure modules in level one representations of the corresponding affine algebra. In particular, this allows us to establish substantial cases of the conjectures of Feigin and Loktev on the structure and graded character of the fusion modules.
In this paper, we give a representation-theoretic interpretation of the specialization $E_{w_{\circ} λ} (q,\infty)$ of the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomial $E_{w_{\circ} λ}(q,t)$ at $t=\infty$ in terms of the Demazure submodule $V_{w_\circ}^{-} (λ)$ of the level-zero extremal weight module $V(λ)$ over a quantum affine algebra of an arbitrary untwisted type, here, $λ$ is a dominant integral weight, and $w_{\circ}$ denotes the longest element in the finite Weyl group $W$. Also, for each $x \in W$, we obtain a combinatorial formula for the specialization $E_{x λ} (q, \infty)$ at $t=\infty$ of th…
We characterise the symplectic Weyl group elements such that the FFLV basis is compatible with the PBW filtration on symplectic Demazure modules, extending type A results by the second author. Surprisingly, the number of such elements depends not on the type A or C of the Lie algebra but on the rank only.
We study the graded limits of minimal affinizations over a quantum loop algebra of type D in the regular case. We show that the graded limits are isomorphic to multiple generalizations of Demazure modules, and also give their defining relations. As a corollary we obtain a character formula for the minimal affinizations in terms of Demazure operators, and a multiplicity formula for a special class of the minimal affinizations.
There are several combinatorial methods that can be used to produce type A Demazure characters (key polynomials). The alcove path model of Lenart and Postnikov provides a procedure that inputs a semistandard tableau $T$ and outputs a saturated chain in the Bruhat order. The final permutation in this chain determines a family of Demazure characters for which $T$ contributes its weight. Separately, the right key of $T$ introduced by Lascoux and Schützenberger also determines a family of Demazure characters for which $T$ contributes its weight. In this paper we show that the final permutation in …
We compute, mimicking the Lascoux-Schützenberger type A combinatorial procedure, left and right keys for a Kashiwara-Nakashima tableau in type C. These symplectic keys have a similar role as the keys for semistandard Young tableaux. More precisely, our symplectic keys give a tableau criterion for the Bruhat order on the hyperoctahedral group and cosets, and describe Demazure atoms and characters in type C. The right and the left symplectic keys are related through the Lusztig involution. A type C Schützenberger evacuation is defined to realize that involution.
We study finite-dimensional respresentations of twisted current algebras and show that any graded twisted Weyl module is isomorphic to level one Demazure module for the twisted affine Kac-Moody algebra. Using the tensor product property of Demazure modules, we obtain, by analyzing the fundamental Weyl modules, dimension and character formulas. Moreover we prove that graded twisted Weyl modules can be obtained by taking the associated graded modules of Weyl modules for the loop algebra, which implies that its dimension and classical character are independent of the support and depend only on it…
We give a crystal-theoretic proof that nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials specialized to $t=0$ are affine Demazure characters. We explicitly construct an affine Demazure crystal on semistandard key tabloids such that removing the affine edges recovers the finite Demazure crystals constructed earlier by the authors. We also realize the filtration on highest weight modules by Demazure modules by defining explicit embedding operators which, at the level of characters, parallels the recursion operators of Knop and Sahi for specialized nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials. Thus we prove combinatorial…
Let $\Lg$ be a simple complex Lie algebra, we denote by $\Lhg$ the corresponding affine Kac--Moody algebra. Let $Λ_0$ be the additional fundamental weight of $\Lhg$. For a dominant integral $\Lg$--coweight $\lam^\vee$, the Demazure submodule $V_{-\lam^\vee}(m\Lam_0)$ is a $\Lg$--module. For any partition of $\lam^\vee=\sum_j \lam_j^\vee$ as a sum of dominant integral $\Lg$--coweights, the Demazure module is (as $\Lg$--module) isomorphic to $\bigotimes_j V_{-\lam^\vee_j}(m\Lam_0)$. For the ``smallest'' case, $\lam^\vee=\om^\vee$ a fundamental coweight, we provide for $\Lg$ of classical type a d…
The product monomial crystal was defined by Kamnitzer, Tingley, Webster, Weekes, and Yacobi for any semisimple simply-laced Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, and depends on a collection of parameters $\mathbf{R}$. We show that a family of truncations of this crystal are Demazure crystals, and give a Demazure-type formula for the character of each truncation, and the crystal itself. This character formula shows that the product monomial crystal is the crystal of a generalised Demazure module, as defined by Lakshmibai, Littelmann and Magyar. In type $A$, we show the product monomial crystal is the cry…
We establish the equality of the specialization $E_{wλ}(x;q,0)$ of the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomial $E_{wλ}(x;q,t)$ at $t=0$ with the graded character $\mathop{\rm gch} U_{w}^{+}(λ)$ of a certain Demazure-type submodule $U_{w}^{+}(λ)$ of a tensor product of "single-column" Kirillov--Reshetikhin modules for an untwisted affine Lie algebra, where $λ$ is a dominant integral weight and $w$ is a (finite) Weyl group element, this generalizes our previous result, that is, the equality between the specialization $P_λ(x;q,0)$ of the symmetric Macdonald polynomial $P_λ(x;q,t)$ at $t=0$ and the grad…
We study Demazure modules which occur in a level $\ell$ irreducible integrable representation of an affine Lie algebra. We also assume that they are stable under the action of the standard maximal parabolic subalgebra of the affine Lie algebra. We prove that such a module is isomorphic to the fusion product of "prime" \ Demazure modules, where the prime factors are indexed by dominant integral weights which are either a multiple of $\ell$ or take value less than $\ell$ on all simple coroots. Our proof depends on a technical result which we prove in all the classical cases and $G_2$. Calculatio…
We show that a tensor product of nonexceptional type Kirillov--Reshetikhin (KR) crystals is isomorphic to a direct sum of Demazure crystals; we do this in the mixed level case and without the perfectness assumption, thus generalizing a result of Naoi. We use this result to show that, given two tensor products of such KR crystals with the same maximal weight, after removing certain $0$-arrows, the two connected components containing the minimal/maximal elements are isomorphic. Based on the latter fact, we reduce a tensor product of higher level perfect KR crystals to one of single-column KR cry…
We consider the support varieties of Demazure modules, certain $B$-modules important in the representation theory of reductive groups. In many cases we are able to compute these support varieties over $B_1$, the first Frobenius kernel of a Borel subgroup, and relate them to orbital varieties. We provide a complete calculation of the support varieties when the underlying algebraic group has type $A_1$ or $A_2$. We also consider the saturation ($G$ orbit of) $B_1$ support varieties for Demazure modules and show that the inclusion relations among these varieties are compatible with the Bruhat ord…
Let $G$ be a simple algebraic group of type $A$ or $D$ defined over $\C$ and $T$ be a maximal torus of $G$. For a dominant coweight $λ$ of $G$, the $T$-fixed point subscheme $(\bar{Gr}_G^λ)^T$ of the Schubert variety $\bar{Gr}_G^λ$ in the affine Grassmannian $Gr_G$ is a finite scheme. We prove that there is a natural isomorphism between the dual of the level one affine Demazure module corresponding to $λ$ and the ring of functions (twisted by certain line bundle on $Gr_G$) of $(\bar{Gr}_G^λ)^T$. We use this fact to give a geometric proof of the Frenkel-Kac-Segal isomorphism between basic repre…
We consider arc spaces for the compositions of Pluecker and Veronese embeddings of the flag varieties for simple Lie groups of types ADE. The arc spaces are not reduced and we consider the homogeneous coordinate rings of the corresponding reduced schemes. We show that each graded component of a homogeneous coordinate ring is a cocyclic module over the current algebra and is acted upon by the algebra of symmetric polynomials. We show that the action of the polynomial algebra is free and that the fiber at the special point of a graded component is isomorphic to an affine Demazure module whose le…
We study a family of finite--dimensional representations of the hyperspecial parabolic subalgebra of the twisted affine Lie algebra of type $\tt A_2^{(2)}$. We prove that these modules admit a decreasing filtration whose sections are isomorphic to stable Demazure modules in an integrable highest weight module of sufficiently large level. In particular, we show that any stable level $m'$ Demazure module admits a filtration by level $m$ Demazure modules for all $m\ge m'$. We define the graded and weighted generating functions which encode the multiplicity of a given Demazure module and establish…
For $G$ a reductive group and $T\subset B$ a maximal torus and Borel subgroup, Demazure modules are certain $B$-submodules, indexed by elements of the Weyl group, of the finite irreducible representations of $G$. In order to describe the $T$-weight spaces that appear in a Demazure module, we study the convex hull of these weights - the Demazure polytope. We characterize these polytopes both by vertices and by inequalities, and we use these results to prove that Demazure characters are saturated, in the case that $G$ is simple of classical Lie type. Specializing to $G=GL_n$, we recover results …
We prove asymptotic normality of the distributions defined by q-supernomials, which implies asymptotic normality of the distributions given by the central string functions and the basic specialization of fusion modules of the current algebra of sl2. The limit is taken over linearly scaled fusion powers of a fixed collection of irreducible representations. This includes as special instances all Demazure modules of the affine Kac-Moody algebra associated to sl2. Along with an available complementary result on the asymptotic normality of the basic specialization of graded tensors of the type A st…
Let $G$ be a simple algebraic group of adjoint type over $\mathbb{C},$ whose root system is of type $F_{4}.$ Let $T$ be a maximal torus of $G$ and $B$ be a Borel subgroup of $G$ containing $T.$ Let $w$ be an element of Weyl group $W$ and $X(w)$ be the Schubert variety in the flag variety $G/B$ corresponding to $w.$ Let $Z(w, \underline{i})$ be the Bott-Samelson-Demazure-Hansen variety (the desingularization of $X(w)$) corresponding to a reduced expression $\underline{i}$ of $w.$ In this article, we study the cohomology modules of the tangent bundle on $Z(w_{0}, \underline{i}),$ where $w_{0}$ i…
This work, to be published in Transformation Groups in two parts, is devoted to the theory of nil-DAHA for the root system A_1 and its applications to symmetric and nonsymmetric (spinor) global q-Whittaker functions. These functions integrate the q-Toda eigenvalue problem and its Dunkl-type nonsymmetric version. The global symmetric function can be interpreted as the generating function of the Demazure characters for dominant weights, which describe the algebraic-geometric properties of the corresponding affine Schubert varieties. Its Harish-Chandra-type asymptotic expansion appeared directly …
We consider degenerations of all simple Lie algebras of exceptional type obtained by embedding into affine Lie algebras. We give a filtration to consider this as an abelianisation of the original Lie algebra. We then show that the associated graded of simple, finite-dimensional modules are isomorphic to Demazure modules.
In this paper we study the family of prime irreducible representations of quantum affine $\lie{sl}_{n+1}$ which arise from the work of D. Hernandez and B. Leclerc. These representations can also be described as follows: the highest weight is a product of distinct fundamental weights with parameters determined by requiring that the representation be minimal by parts. We show that such representations admit a BGG-type resolution where the role of the Verma module is played by the local Weyl module. This leads to a closed formula (the Weyl character formula) for the character of the irreducible r…
We prove in type A a conjecture which describes the ideal of transversal slices to spherical Schubert varieties in the affine Grassmannian. As a corollary, we prove a modular description (due to Finkelberg-Mirković) of the spherical Schubert varieties.
We study the specialization of the type A nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials at $t=0$ based on the combinatorial formula of Haglund, Haiman, and Loehr. We prove that this specialization expands nonnegatively into the fundamental slide polynomials, introduced by the author and Searles. Using this and weak dual equivalence, we prove combinatorially that this specialization is a positive graded sum of Demazure characters. We use stability results for fundamental slide polynomials to show that this specialization stabilizes and to show that the Demazure character coefficients give a refinement of …
In this article, we show in the ADE case that the fusion product of Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules for a current algebra, whose character is expressed in terms of fermionic forms, can be constructed from one-dimensional modules by using Joseph functors. As a consequence, we obtain some identity between fermionic forms and Demazure operators. Since the same identity is also known to hold for one-dimensional sums of nonexceptional type, we can show from these results the X = M conjecture for type $A_n^{(1)}$ and $D_n^{(1)}$.
In this paper, we introduce multi-layer quiver and show how to construct an $(n+1)$-slice algebras of infinite type from an $n$-slice algebra of infinite type using the bound quivers. This leads to constructing $(n+1)$-slice algebras of infinite type as matrix algebra and as tensor algebra of an $n$-slice algebra and equivalences of their module categories as the module categories of diagram of some quiver of type $\widetilde{A}_{n+1}$.
We study a class of modules, called Chari-Venkatesh modules, for the current superalgebra $\mathfrak{sl}(1|2)[t]$. This class contains other important modules, such as graded local Weyl, truncated local Weyl and Demazure-type modules. We prove that Chari-Venkatesh modules can be realized as fusion products of generalized Kac modules. In particular, this proves Feigin and Loktev's conjecture, that fusion products are independent of their fusion parameters in the case where the fusion factors are generalized Kac modules. As an application of our results, we obtain bases, dimension and character …
We consider the PBW filtrations over the integers of the irreducible highest weight modules in type A and C. We show that the associated graded modules can be realized as Demazure modules for group schemes of the same type and doubled rank. We deduce that the corresponding degenerate flag varieties are isomorphic to Schubert varieties in any characteristic.
We develop the theory of global and local Weyl modules for the hyperspecial maximal parabolic subalgebra of type $A_{2n}^{(2)}$. We prove that the dimension of a local Weyl module depends only on its highest weight, thus establishing a freeness result for global Weyl modules. Furthermore, we show that the graded local Weyl modules are level one Demazure modules for the corresponding affine Lie algebra. In the last section we derive the same results for the special maximal parabolic subalgebras of the twisted affine Lie algebras not of type $A_{2n}^{(2)}$.
Braverman, Finkelberg, and Nakajima define Kac-Moody affine Grassmannian slices as Coulomb branches of $3d$ $\mathcal{N}=4$ quiver gauge theories and prove that their Coulomb branch construction agrees with the usual loop group definition in finite ADE types. The Coulomb branch construction has good algebraic properties, but its geometry is hard to understand in general. In finite types, an essential geometric feature is that slices embed into one another. We show that these embeddings are compatible with the fundamental monopole operators (FMOs), remarkable regular functions arising from the …
We introduce the shifted quantum affine algebras. They map homomorphically into the quantized $K$-theoretic Coulomb branches of $3d\ {\mathcal N}=4$ SUSY quiver gauge theories. In type $A$, they are endowed with a coproduct, and they act on the equivariant $K$-theory of parabolic Laumon spaces. In type $A_1$, they are closely related to the open relativistic quantum Toda lattice of type $A$.
