This paper extends the matrix based approach to the setting of multiple subdivision schemes studied in [Sauer 2012]. Multiple subdivision schemes, in contrast to stationary and non-stationary schemes, allow for level dependent subdivision weights and for level dependent choice of the dilation matrices. The latter property of multiple subdivision makes the standard definition of the transition matrices, crucial ingredient of the matrix approach in the stationary and non-stationary settings, inapplicable. We show how to avoid this obstacle and characterize the convergence of multiple subdivision schemes in terms of the joint spectral radius of certain square matrices derived from subdivision weights. We illustrate our results with several examples.
This paper discusses the generation of multivariate $C^\infty$ functions with compact small supports by subdivision schemes. Following the construction of such a univariate function, called \emph{Up-function}, by a non-stationary scheme based on masks of {spline subdivision schemes} of growing degrees, we term the multivariate functions we generate Up-like functions. We generate them by non-stationary schemes based on masks of box-splines of growing supports. To analyze the convergence and smoothness of these non-stationary schemes, we develop new tools which apply to a wider class of schemes …
This paper presents a detailed regularity analysis of anisotropic wavelet frames and subdivision. In the univariate setting, the smoothness of wavelet frames and subdivision is well understood by means of the matrix approach. In the multivariate setting, this approach has been extended only to the special case of isotropic refinement with the dilation matrix all of whose eigenvalues are equal in the absolute value. The general anisotropic case has resisted to be fully understood: the matrix approach can determine whether a refinable function belongs to $C(\mathbb{R}^s)$ or $L_p(\mathbb{R}^s)$,…
We present an optimized algorithm calculating determinant for multivariate polynomial matrix on GPU. The novel algorithm provides precise determinant for input multivariate polynomial matrix in controllable time. Our approach is based on modular methods and split into Fast Fourier Transformation, Condensation method and Chinese Remainder Theorem where each algorithm is paralleled on GPU. The experiment results show that our parallel method owns substantial speedups compared to Maple, allowing memory overhead and time expedition in steady increment. We are also able to deal with complex matrix …
