The problem of classifying Einstein solvmanifolds, or equivalently, Ricci soliton nilmanifolds, is known to be equivalent to a question on the variety of n-dimensional complex nilpotent Lie algebra laws. Namely, one has to determine which GL(n)-orbits in this variety have a critical point of the squared norm of the moment map. In dimension 7, there are 148 complex nilpotent Lie algebras and 6 curves of pairwise non-isomorphic nilpotent Lie algebras, and we give in this paper a complete classification of the aforementioned distinguished orbits.
For Einstein manifolds with negative scalar curvature admitting an isometric action of a Lie group G with compact, smooth orbit space, we show the following rigidity result: The nilradical N of G acts polarly, and the N-orbits can be extended to minimal Einstein submanifolds. As an application, we prove the Alekseevskii conjecture: Any homogeneous Einstein manifold with negative scalar curvature is diffeomorphic to a Euclidean space.
In this paper we investigate the existence of invariant SKT, balanced and generalized Kähler structures on compact quotients $Γ\backslash G$, where $G$ is an almost nilpotent Lie group whose nilradical has one-dimensional commutator and $Γ$ is a lattice of $G$. We first obtain a characterization of Hermitian almost nilpotent Lie algebras $\mathfrak{g}$ whose nilradical $\mathfrak{n}$ has one-dimensional commutator and a classification result in real dimension six. Then, we study the ones admitting SKT and balanced structures and we examine the behaviour of such structures under flows. In parti…
We consider all connected and simply connected 7-dimensional Lie groups whose Lie algebras have nilradical $\g_{5,2} = \s \{X_1, X_2, X_3, X_4, X_5 \colon [X_1, X_2] = X_4, [X_1, X_3] = X_5\}$ of Dixmier. First, we give a geometric description of the maximal-dimensional orbits in the coadjoint representation of all considered Lie groups. Next, we prove that, for each considered group, the family of the generic coadjoint orbits forms a measurable foliation in the sense of Connes. Finally, the topological classification of all these foliations is also provided.
In this paper, we consider exponential, connected and simply connected Lie groups which are corresponding to Lie algebras of dimension 7 such that the nilradical of them is 5-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}_{5,2}$ in Table 1. In particular, we give a description of the geometry of the generic orbits in the coadjoint representation of some considered Lie groups. We prove that, for each considered group, the family of the generic coadjoint orbits forms a measurable foliation in the sense of Connes. The topological classification of these foliations is also provided.
The aim of this paper is to study complete (noncompact) steady $m$-quasi-Einstein manifolds satisfying a fourth-order vanishing condition on the Weyl tensor. In this case, we are able to prove that a steady $m$-quasi-Einstein manifold ($m>1$) on a simply connected $n$-dimensional manifold $(M^{n},g)$, $(n\geq4),$ with nonnegative Ricci curvature and zero radial Weyl curvature must be a warped product with $(n-1)-$dimensional Einstein fiber, provided that $M$ has fourth order divergence-free Weyl tensor (i.e., ${\rm div}^{4}W=0$).
We classify the effective and transitive actions of a Lie group $G$ on an n-dimensional non-degenerate hyperboloid (also called real pseudo-hyperbolic space), under the assumption that $G$ is a closed, connected Lie subgroup of $SO_0(n-r,r+1)$, the connected component of the indefinite special orthogonal group. Assuming additionally that $G$ acts completely reducible on $\mathbb R^{n+1}$, we also obtain that any $G$-homogeneous Einstein pseudo-Riemannian metric on a real, complex or quaternionic pseudo-hyperbolic space, or on a para-complex or para-quaternionic projective space is homothetic t…
In this paper we study 4-dimensional $(m,ρ)$-quasi-Einstein manifolds with harmonic Weyl curvature when $m\notin\{0,\pm1,-2,\pm\infty\}$ and $ρ\notin\{\frac{1}{4},\frac{1}{6}\}$. We prove that a non-trivial $(m,ρ)$-quasi-Einstein metric $g$ (not necessarily complete) is locally isometric to one of the followings: (i) $\mathcal{B}^2_\frac{R}{2(m+2)}\times \mathbb{N}^2_\frac{R(m+1)}{2(m+2)}$ where $\mathcal{B}^2_\frac{R}{2(m+2)}$ is a northern hemisphere in the 2-dimensional sphere $\mathbb{S}^2_\frac{R}{2(m+2)}$, $\mathbb{N}_δ$ is the 2-dimensional Riemannian manifold with constant curvature $δ…
We develop the theory of left-invariant generalized pseudo-Riemannian metrics on Lie groups. Such a metric accompanied by a choice of left-invariant divergence operator gives rise to a Ricci curvature tensor and we study the corresponding Einstein equation. We compute the Ricci tensor in terms of the tensors (on the sum of the Lie algebra and its dual) encoding the Courant algebroid structure, the generalized metric and the divergence operator. The resulting expression is polynomial and homogeneous of degree two in the coefficients of the Dorfman bracket and the divergence operator with respec…
We focus on the classical open problem of the classification of Kähler-Einstein manifolds that can be Kähler immersed into a complex projective space endowed with the Fubini-Study metric. In particular, we will deal with such problem in the special case of Kähler- Einstein metrics admitting symmetries of rotational type. This leads to certain integrable distributions allowing a classification of such metrics.
Einstein Metrics via Intrinsic or Parallel Torsion
We describe the orbits of the irreducible action of PSL(2, R) on the 3-dimensional Einstein universe Ein 1,2. This work completes the study in [2], and is one element of the classification of cohomo-geneity one actions on Ein 1,2 ([5]).
In this paper, we study the Bergman metric of a finite ball quotient $\mathbb{B}^n/Γ$, where $Γ\subseteq \mathrm{Aut}(\mathbb{B}^n)$ is a finite, fixed point free, abelian group. We prove that this metric is Kähler--Einstein if and only if $Γ$ is trivial, i.e., when the ball quotient $\mathbb{B}^n/Γ$ is the unit ball $\mathbb{B}^n$ itself. As a consequence, we establish a characterization of the unit ball among normal Stein spaces with isolated singularities and abelian fundamental groups in terms of the existence of a Bergman-Einstein metric.
We provide classification results for and examples of half conformally flat generalized quasi Einstein manifolds of signature $(2,2)$. This analysis leads to a natural equation in affine geometry called the affine quasi-Einstein equation that we explore in further detail.
We classify all left-invariant pseudo-Riemannian Einstein metrics on $\mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{R})\times \mathrm{SL}(2,\mathbb{R})$ that are bi-invariant under a one-parameter subgroup. We find that there are precisely two such metrics up to homothety, the Killing form and a nearly pseudo-Kähler metric.
In this paper we give local and global parametric classifications of a class of Einstein submanifolds of Euclidean space. The highlight is for submanifolds of codimension two since in this case our assumptions are only of intrinsic nature.
Building on previous results, we complete the classification of compact oriented Einstein 4-manifolds with det (W^+) > 0. There are, up to diffeomorphism, exactly 15 manifolds that carry such metrics, and, on each of these manifolds, such metrics sweep out exactly one connected component of the corresponding Einstein moduli space.
We provide a classification of Einstein submanifolds in space forms with flat normal bundle and parallel mean curvature. This extends a previous result due to Dajczer and Tojeiro for isometric immersions of Riemannian manifolds with constant sectional curvature.
It is well known that $\mathbb{C}H^n$ has the structure of solvable Lie group with left invariant metric of constant holomorphic sectional curvature. In this paper we give the full classification of all possible left invariant Riemannian metrics on this Lie group. We prove that all of these metrics are of constant negative scalar curvature and only one of them is Einstein (up to isometry and scaling). Finally, we present the relation between Ricci solitons on Heisenberg group and Einstein metric on $\mathbb{C}H^n$.
We give some classifications of biharmonic hypersurfaces with constant scalar curvature. These include biharmonic Einstein hypersurfaces in space forms, compact biharmonic hypersurfaces with constant scalar curvature in a sphere, and some complete biharmonic hypersurfaces of constant scalar curvature in space forms and in a non-positively curved Einstein space. Our results provide additional cases (Theorem 2.3 and Proposition 2.8) that supports the conjecture that a biharmonic submanifold in a sphere has constant mean curvature, and two more cases that support Chen's conjecture on biharmonic h…
Conformally flat Einstein-like 4-manifolds and conformally flat Riemannian 4-manifolds all of whose Jacobi operators have parallel eigenspaces along every geodesic
Based on a well-known fact that there are no Einstein hypersurfaces in a non-flat complex space form, in this article we study the quasi-Einstein condition, which is a generalization of an Einstein metric, on the real hyersurface of a non-flat complex space form. For the real hypersurface with quasi-Einstein metric of a complex Euclidean space, we also give a classification. Since a gradient Ricci soliton is a special quasi-Einstein metric, our results improve some conclusions of \cite{CK}.
The goal of this article is to investigate nontrivial $m$-quasi-Einstein manifolds globally conformal to an $n$-dimensional Euclidean space. By considering such manifolds, whose conformal factors and potential functions are invariant under the action of an $(n-1)$-dimensional translation group, we provide a complete classification when $λ=0$ and $m\geq 1$ or $m=2-n.$
In this paper, we obtain classification of four-dimensional Einstein manifolds with positive Ricci curvature and pinched sectional curvature. In particular, the first result concerns with an upper bound of sectional curvature, improving a theorem of E. Costa. The second is a generalization of D. Yang's result assuming an upper bound on the difference between sectional curvatures.
