We provide sharp weak estimates for the distribution function of Mϕwhen on ϕwe impose L1, Lq and Lp,1 restrictions. Here M is the dyadic maximal operator associated to a tree T on a non-atomic probability measure space.
We provide an alternative proof and expression of the Bellman function of the dyadic maximal operator in connection with the Dyadic Carleson Imbedding Theorem, which appears in [10]. We also evaluate the Bellman function of four variables of the dyadic maximal operator
We prove a sharp integral inequality which connects the dyadic maximal operator with the Hardy operator. We also give some applications of this inequality.
We prove a sharp integral inequality for the dyadic maximal operator and give as an application another proof for the computation of its Bellman function of three variables.
We prove a necessary condition that has every extremal sequence for the Bellman function of the dyadic maximal operator. This implies the weak-Lp uniqueness for such a sequence.
We give a characterization of the extremal sequences for the Bellman function of the dyadic maximal operator. In fact we prove that they behave approximately like eigenfunctions of this operator for a specific eigenvalue.
We obtain sharp estimates for the localized distribution function of Mϕ, when ϕbelongs to Lp,\inf where M is the dyadic maximal operator. We obtain these estimates given the L1 and Lq norm, q < p and certain weak Lp-conditions.
For p>1 we find the Bellman function of two variables associated with the dyadic maximal operator on Rn.Actually we do that in the more general setting of tree-like maximal operators. We provide a simple and elementary proof, different from those in [4] and [9].
We compute the Bellman function of three integral variables associated to the dyadic maximal operator on a subset of its domain. Additionally, we provide an upper bound for the whole domain of its definition.
We provide some new estimates for Bellman type functions for the dyadic maximal opeator on $R^n$ and of maximal operators on martingales related to weighted spaces. Using a type of symmetrization principle, introduced for the dyadic maximal operator in earlier works of the authors we introduce certain conditions on the weight that imply estimate for the maximal operator on the corresponding weighted space. Also using a well known estimate for the maximal operator by a double maximal operators on different m easures related to the weight we give new estimates for the above Bellman type function…
We precisely evaluate Bellman type functions for the dyadic maximal opeator on $R^n$ and of maximal operators on martingales related to local Lorentz type estimates. Using a type of symmetrization principle, introduced for the dyadic maximal operator in earlier works of the authors we precisely evaluate the supremum of the Lorentz quasinorm of the maximal operator on a function $ϕ$ when the integral of $ϕ$ is fixed and also the same Lorentz quasinorm of $ϕ$ is fixed. Also we find the corresponding supremum when the integral of $ϕ$ is fixed and several weak type conditions are given.
We prove that the extremal sequences for the Bellman function of the dyadic maximal operator behave approximately as eigenfunctions of this operator for a specific eigenvalue. We use this result to prove the analogous one with respect to the Hardy operator.
We precisely compute the Bellman function of two variables of the dyadic maximal operator in relation to Kolmogorov inequality. In this way we give an alternative proof of the results in [5].Additionally, we characterize the sequences of functions that are extremal for this Bellman function. The proof of this is based on that is given in this paper for the Bellman function we are interested in.
Properties of a maximal function for vector-valued martingales were studied by the author in an earlier paper. Restricting here to the dyadic setting, we prove the equivalence between (weighted) L^p inequalities and weak type estimates, and discuss an extension to the case of locally finite Borel measures on R^n. In addition, to compensate for the lack of an L^\infty inequality, we derive a suitable BMO estimate. Different dyadic systems in different dimensions are also considered.
We give a characterization of the extremal sequences for the Bellman function of three variables of the dyadic maximal operator in relation to Kolmogorov's inequality. In fact we prove that they behave approximately like eigenfunctions of this operator for a specific eigenvalue. For this approach we use the one introduced in [4], where the respective Bellman function has been precisely evaluated.
We provide a description for the Bellman function related to the Carleson Imbedding theorem, first mentioned in [4], with the use of the Hardy operator.
We introduce atoms for dyadic atomic $H^1$ for which the equivalence between atomic and maximal function defnitions is dimension independent. We give the sharp, up to $\log(d)$ factor, estimates for the $H^1 \to L^1$ norm estimates for the special maximal function.
We prove a sharp integral inequality for the dyadic maximal operator due to which the evaluation of the Bellman function of this operator with respect to two variables is possible, as can be seen in [3]. Our inequality of interest is proved in this article by a simpler and more immediate way. We also study a stability result in connection with this inequality, that is we provide a necessary and sufficient condition, for a sequence of functions, under which we obtain equality in the limit. The proof of this result is based on the proof of the related inequality which we present in this article.
The convex body maximal operator is a natural generalisation of the Hardy Littlewood maximal operator. In the presence of a matrix weight it is not bounded.
Let $S$ be the Lie group $\mathrm{R}^n\ltimes \mathrm{R}^+$ endowed with the left-invariant Riemannian symmetric space structure and the right Haar measure $ρ$, which is a Lie group of exponential growth. Hebisch and Steger in [Math. Z. 245(2003), 37--61] proved that any integrable function on $(S,ρ)$ admits a Calderón--Zygmund decomposition which involves a particular family of sets, called Calderón--Zygmund sets. In this paper, we first show the existence of a dyadic grid in the group $S$, which has {nice} properties similar to the classical Euclidean dyadic cubes. Using the properties of th…
We discuss the dyadic John-Nirenberg space that is a generalization of functions of bounded mean oscillation. A John-Nirenberg inequality, which gives a weak type estimate for the oscillation of a function, is discussed in the setting of medians instead of integral averages. We show that the dyadic maximal operator is bounded on the dyadic John-Nirenberg space and provide a method to construct nontrivial functions in the dyadic John-Nirenberg space. Moreover, we prove that the John-Nirenberg space is complete. Several open problems are also discussed.
We prove a new dyadic representation theorem with applications to the $T(1)$ and $A_2$ theorems. In particular, we obtain the non-homogeneous $T(1)$ theorem under weaker kernel regularity than the earlier approaches.
We provide a quantitative two weight estimate for the dyadic paraproduct $π_b$ under certain conditions on a pair of weights $(u;v)$ and $b$ in $Carl_{u,v}$, a new class of functions that we show coincides with BMO when $u = v \in A^d_2$. We obtain quantitative two weight estimates for the dyadic square function and the martingale transforms under the assumption that the maximal function is bounded from $L_2(u)$ into $L_2(v)$ and $v \in RH^d_1$. Finally we obtain a quantitative two weight estimate from $L_2(u)$ into $L_2(v)$ for the dyadic square function under the assumption that the pair $(u…
Given a general dyadic grid ${\mathscr{D}}$ and a sparse family of cubes ${\mathcal S}=\{Q_j^k\}\in {\mathscr{D}}$, define a dyadic positive operator ${\mathcal A}_{\mathscr{D},{\mathcal S}}$ by $${\mathcal A}_{\mathscr{D},{\mathcal S}}f(x)=\sum_{j,k}f_{Q_j^k}χ_{Q_j^k}(x).$$ Given a Banach function space $X({\mathbb R}^n)$ and the maximal Calderón-Zygmund operator $T_{\natural}$, we show that $$\|T_{\natural}f\|_X\le c(n,T)\sup_{\mathscr{D},{\mathcal S}}\|{\mathcal A}_{\mathscr{D},{\mathcal S}}f\|_{X}.$$ This result is applied to weighted inequalities. In particular, it implies: (i) the "two-w…
The aim of the present paper is to obtain a Sjölin-type maximal estimate for pseudo-differential operators with homogeneous symbols. The crux of the proof is to obtain a phase decomposition formula which does not involve the time traslation. The proof is somehow parallel to the paper by Pramanik and Terwilleger (P. Malabika and E. Terwilleger, A weak $L^2$ estimate for a maximal dyadic sum operator on $R^n$, Illinois J. Math, {\bf 47} (2003), no. 3, 775--813). In the present paper, we mainly concentrate on our new phase decomposition formula and the results in the Cotlar type estimate, which a…
We show that the discrete Hardy-Littlewood maximal functions associated with the Euclidean balls in $\mathbb Z^d$ with dyadic radii have bounds independent of the dimension on $\ell^p(\mathbb Z^d)$ for $p\in[2, \infty]$.
We obtain a complete characterization of the weak-type $(1,1)$ for Haar shift operators in terms of generalized Haar systems adapted to a Borel measure $μ$ in the operator-valued setting. The main technical tool in our method is a noncommutative Calderón-Zygmund decomposition valid for arbitrary Borel measures.
We investigate the rearrangement of the Haar system induced by the postorder on the set of dyadic intervals in $[0,1]$ with length greater than or equal to $2^{-N}$. By means of operator norms on $\text{BMO}_N$ we prove that the postorder has maximal distance to the usual lexicographic order.
We give a new proof of the sharp one weight $L^p$ inequality for any operator $T$ that can be approximated by Haar shift operators such as the Hilbert transform, any Riesz transform, the Beurling-Ahlfors operator. Our proof avoids the Bellman function technique and two weight norm inequalities. We use instead a recent result due to A. Lerner to estimate the oscillation of dyadic operators. Our method is flexible enough to prove the corresponding sharp one-weight norm inequalities for some operators of harmonic analysis: the maximal singular integrals associated to $T$, Dyadic square functions …
Let $({\mathcal X},ρ,μ)$ be a space of homogeneous type in the sense of Coifman and Weiss, and $Y({\mathcal X})$ a ball quasi-Banach function space on ${\mathcal X}$, which supports a Fefferman--Stein vector-valued maximal inequality, and the boundedness of the powered Hardy--Littlewood maximal operator on its associate space. The authors first introduce the Hardy space $H_{Y}^*({\mathcal X})$, associated with $Y({\mathcal X})$, via the grand maximal function, and then establish its various real-variable characterizations, respectively, in terms of radial or non-tangential maximal functions, a…
End-point maximal $L^1$-regularity for parabolic initial-boundary value problems is considered. For the inhomogeneous Dirichlet and Neumann data, maximal $L^1$-regularity for initial-boundary value problems is established in time end-point case upon the homogeneous Besov space $\dot B_{p,1}^s({\mathbb R}^n_+)$ with $1< p< \infty$ and $-1+1/p<s\le 0$ as well as optimal trace estimates. The main estimates obtained here are sharp in the sense of trace estimates and it is not available by known theory on the class of UMD Banach spaces. We utilize a method of harmonic analysis, in particular, the a…
We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the boundedness of generalized fractional integral and maximal operators on Orlicz-Morrey and weak Orlicz-Morrey spaces. To do this we prove the weak-weak type modular inequality of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator with respect to the Young function. Orlicz-Morrey spaces contain $L^p$ spaces ($1\le p\le\infty$), Orlicz spaces and generalized Morrey spaces as special cases. Hence we get necessary and sufficient conditions on these function spaces as corollaries.
For the Hardy-Littlewood maximal and Calderón-Zygmund operators, the weighted boundedness on the Lebesgue spaces are well known. We extend these to the Orlicz-Morrey spaces. Moreover, we prove the weighted boundedness on the weak Orlicz-Morrey spaces. To do this we show the weak-weak modular inequality. The Orlicz-Morrey space and its weak version contain weighted Orlicz, Morrey and Lebesgue spaces and their weak versions as special cases. Then we also get the boundedness for these function spaces as corollaries.
In a celebrated paper, Burkholder, Gundy, and Silverstein used Brownian motion to derive a maximal function characterization of H^p spaces for 0 < p < infinity. In this paper, we show that their method extends to higher dimensions and yields a dimension-free weak type (1,1) estimate for a conjugate function on the N-dimensional torus.
We prove a Boyd-type interpolation result for noncommutative maximal operators of restricted weak type. Our result positively answers an open question posed recently by Bekjan, Chen and Osekowski. As a special case, we find a restricted weak type version of the noncommutative Marcinkiewicz interpolation theorem, due to Junge and Xu, with interpolation constant of optimal order.
