In this paper, we define certain symmetries for automorphic forms on O(2, m+2) and show that the space of automorphic forms satisfying these symmetries coincides with the Maass space, the image of Saito-Kurokawa lifting.
In this paper we describe a characterization for the Maass space associated with the paramodular group of degree $2$ and squarefree level $N$. As an application we show that the Maass space is invariant under all Hecke operators. As a consequence we conclude that the associated Siegel-Eisenstein series belongs to the Maass space.
Recently Bringmann, Raum and Richter generalised the definition of Jacobi forms and Skoruppa's skew-holomorphic Jacobi forms by intertwining with harmonic Maass forms. We prove the isomorphism of the Kohnen's plus space analogue of harmonic Maass forms of weight $k-1/2$ for $Γ_0(4m)$ and the space of these skew-holomorphic harmonic Maass-Jacobi forms of weight $k$ and index $m$ for $k$ odd and $m=1$ or a prime.
Muto, Narita and Pitale construct counterexamples to the Generalized Ramanujan Conjecture for GL(2,B) over the division quaternion algebra B with discriminant two via a lift from SL(2). In this paper, we try to exactly characterize the image of this lift. The previous methods of Maass, Kohnen or Kojima do not apply here, hence we approach this problem via a combination of classical and representation theory techniques to identify the image. Crucially, we use the Jacquet Langlands correspondence described by Badulescu and Renard to characterize the representations.
The space of polyharmonic Maass forms was introduced by Lagarias-Rhoades, recently. They constructed its basis from the Taylor coefficients of the real analytic Eisenstein series. In this paper, we introduce polyharmonic weak Maass forms, that is, we relax the moderate growth condition at cusp, and we construct a basis as a generalization of Lagarias-Rhoades' works. As a corollary, we can obtain a preimage of an arbitrary polyharmonic weak Maass form under the xi-operator.
For an imaginary quadratic field $K$ of discriminant $-D$, let $χ= χ_K$ be the associated quadratic character. We will show that the space of special hermitian Jacobi forms of level $N$ is isomorphic to the space of plus forms of level $DN$ and nebentypus $χ$ (the hermitian analogue of Kohnen's plus space) for any integer $N$ prime to $D$. This generalizes the results of Krieg from $N = 1$ to arbitrary level. Combining this isomorphism with the recent work of Berger and Klosin and a modification of Ikeda's construction we prove the existence of a lift from the space of elliptic modular forms t…
Lagarias and Rhoades generalized harmonic Maass forms by considering forms which are annihilated by a number of iterations of the action of the xi-operator. In our previous work, we considered polyharmonic weak Maass forms by allowing the exponential growth at cusps, and constructed a basis of the space of such forms. This paper focuses on the case of half-integral weight. We construct a basis as an analogue of our work, and give arithmetic formulas for the Fourier coefficients in terms of traces of CM values and cycle integrals of polyharmonic weak Maass forms. These results put the known res…

In this article, we prove an omega-result for the Hecke eigenvalues $λ_F(n)$ of Maass forms $F$ which are Hecke eigenforms in the space of Siegel modular forms of weight $k$, genus two for the Siegel modular group $Sp_2(\Z)$. In particular, we prove $$ λ_F(n)= Ω(n^{k-1}\text{exp} (c \frac{\sqrt{\log n}}{\log\log n})), $$ when $c>0$ is an absolute constant. This improves the earlier result $$ λ_F(n)= Ω(n^{k-1} (\frac{\sqrt{\log n}}{\log\log n})) $$ of Das and the third author. We also show that for any $n \ge 3$, one has $$ λ_F(n) \leq n^{k-1}\text{exp} \left(c_1\sqrt{\frac{\log n}{\log\log n}}…
Algebraic formulas for the coefficients of half-integral weight harmonic weak Maass forms
Let $H$ be a semisimple algebraic group, $K$ a maximal compact subgroup of $G:=H(\mathbb{R})$, and $Γ\subset H(\mathbb{Q})$ a congruence arithmetic subgroup. In this paper, we generalize existing subconvex bounds for Hecke-Maass forms on the locally symmetric space $Γ\backslash G/K$ to corresponding bounds on the arithmetic quotient $Γ\backslash G$ for cocompact lattices using the spectral function of an elliptic operator. The bounds obtained extend known subconvex bounds for automorphic forms to non-trivial $K$-types, yielding subconvex bounds for new classes of automorphic representations, a…
Let $F$ be a totally real number field, $\mathcal{O}_{F}$ the ring of integers, $\mathfrak a$ and $\mathfrak I$ integral ideals and let $χ$ a character of $\mathbb{A}_F^\times/F^\times$. For each prime ideal $\mathfrak{p}$ in $\mathcal{O}_{F}$, $\mathfrak{p}\nmid \mathfrak{I}$ let $T_{\mathfrak{p}}$ be the Hecke operator acting on the space of Maass cusp forms on $L^2(\mathrm{GL}_{2}(F) \backslash \mathrm{GL}_{2}(\mathbb{A}_F))$. In this paper we investigate the distribution of joint eigenvalues of the Hecke operators $T_{\mathfrak{p}}$ and of the Casimir operators $C_{j}$ in each archimedean …
Let $Γ_n(\mathcal{\scriptstyle{O}}_{\mathbb{K}})$ denote the Hermitian modular group of degree $n$ over an imaginary quadratic number field $\mathbb{K}$ and $Δ_{n,\mathbb{K}}^*$ its maximal discrete extension in the special unitary group $SU(n,n;\mathbb{C})$. In this paper we study the action of $Δ_{n,\mathbb{K}}^*$ on Hermitian theta series and Maass spaces. For $n=2$ we will find theta lattices such that the corresponding theta series are modular forms with respect to $Δ_{2,\mathbb{K}}^*$ as well as examples where this is not the case. Our second focus lies on studying two different Maass sp…
We consider the Hermitian Eisenstein series $E^{(\mathbb{K})}_k$ of degree $2$ and weight $k$ associated with an imaginary-quadratic number field $\mathbb{K}$ and determine the influence of $\mathbb{K}$ on the arithmetic and the growth of its Fourier coefficients. We find that they satisfy the identity $E^{{(\mathbb{K})}^2}_4 = E^{{(\mathbb{K})}}_8$, which is well-known for Siegel modular forms of degree $2$, if and only if $\mathbb{K} = \mathbb{Q} (\sqrt{-3})$. As an application, we show that the Eisenstein series $E^{(\mathbb{K})}_k$, $k=4,6,8,10,12$ are algebraically independent whenever $\…
The Kuznetsov and Petersson trace formulae for $GL(2)$ forms may collectively be derived from Poincaré series in the space of Maass forms with weight. Having already developed the spherical spectral Kuznetsov formula for $GL(3)$, the goal of this series of papers is to derive the spectral Kuznetsov formulae for non-spherical Maass forms and use them to produce the corresponding Weyl laws; this appears to be the first proof of the existence of such forms not coming from the symmetric-square construction. Aside from general interest in new types of automorphic forms, this is a necessary step in …
We prove a new omega result for toric periods of Hecke-Maass forms on compact locally symmetric spaces associated to forms of PGL(3). This is motivated by conjectures on the maximal growth of L-functions as well as by questions about the size of automorphic periods. We also prove a mean square asymptotic result for maximal flat periods on more general locally symmetric spaces of non-compact type, which takes as main input bounds for real relative orbital integrals.
