After briefly reviewing the gauge symmetry in Moyal spacetimes, we analyse aspects of symmetry breaking within a quantisation program preserving the twisted Poincaré symmetry. We develop the LSZ approach for Moyal spacetimes and derive a mapping for scattering amplitudes on these spacetimes from the corresponding ones on the commutative spacetime. This map applies in the presence of spontaneous breakdown of symmetries as well. We also derive Goldstone's theorem on Moyal spacetime. The formalism developed here can be directly applied to the twisted standard model.
We study the consequences of twisting the Poincare invariance in a quantum field theory. First, we construct a Fock space compatible with the twisting and the corresponding creation and annihilation operators. Then, we show that a covariant field linear in creation and annihilation operators does not exist. Relaxing the linearity condition, a covariant field can be determined. We show that it is related to the untwisted field by a unitary transformation and the resulting n-point functions coincide with the untwisted ones. We also show that invariance under the twisted symmetry can be realized …
On Moyal space-time, one can implement twisted Poincaré symmetry with the resultant modification of symmetrization and anti-symmetrization postulates for bosons and fermions. We develop the thermofield approach of Umezawa and Takahashi on such a spacetime preserving the twisted Poincaré symmetry of the underlying quantum field theory(qft). Implications of this twisted Poincaré symmetry for qft's at finite temperature are pointed out.
We present a comparison of the noncommutative field theories built using two different star products: Moyal and Wick-Voros (or normally ordered). We compare the two theories in the context of the noncommutative geometry determined by a Drinfeld twist, and the comparison is made at the level of Green's functions and S-matrix. We find that while the Green's functions are different for the two theories, the S-matrix is the same in both cases, and is different from the commutative case.
We explore some general consequences of a proper, full enforcement of the "twisted Poincare'" covariance of Chaichian et al. [14], Wess [50], Koch et al. [34], Oeckl [41] upon many-particle quantum mechanics and field quantization on a Moyal-Weyl noncommutative space(time). This entails the associated braided tensor product with an involutive braiding (or $\star$-tensor product in the parlance of Aschieri et al. [3,4]) prescription for any coordinates pair of $x,y$ generating two different copies of the space(time); the associated nontrivial commutation relations between them imply that $x-y$ …
We present a comparison of the noncommutative field theories built using two different star products: Moyal and Wick-Voros (or normally ordered). For the latter we discuss both the classical and the quantum field theory in the quartic potential case, and calculate the Green's functions up to one loop, for the two and four points cases. We compare the two theories in the context of the noncommutative geometry determined by a Drinfeld twist, and the comparison is made at the level of Green's functions and S-matrix. We find that while the Green's functions are different for the two theories, the …
We explore some general consequences of a consistent formulation of relativistic quantum field theory (QFT) on the Groenewold-Moyal-Weyl noncommutative versions of Minkowski space with covariance under the twisted Poincare' group of Chaichian et al. [12], Wess [44], Koch et al. [31], Oeckl [34]. We argue that a proper enforcement of the latter requires braided commutation relations between any pair of coordinates $\hat x,\hat y$ generating two different copies of the space, or equivalently a $\star$-tensor product $f(x)\star g(y)$ (in the parlance of Aschieri et al. [3]) between any two functi…
We show how to get a non-commutative product for functions on space-time starting from the deformation of the coproduct of the Poincare' group using the Drinfel'd twist. Thus it is easy to see that the commutative algebra of functions on space-time (R^4) can be identified as the set of functions on the Poincare' group invariant under the right action of the Lorentz group provided we use the standard coproduct for the Poincare' group. We obtain our results for the noncommutative Moyal plane by generalizing this result to the case of the twisted coproduct. This extension is not trivial and invol…
We consider nuclear function spaces on which the Weyl-Heisenberg group acts continuously and study the basic properties of the twisted convolution product of the functions with the dual space elements. The final theorem characterizes the corresponding algebra of convolution multipliers and shows that it contains all sufficiently rapidly decreasing functionals in the dual space. Consequently, we obtain a general description of the Moyal multiplier algebra of the Fourier-transformed space. The results extend the Weyl symbol calculus beyond the traditional framework of tempered distributions.
We analyse aspects of symmetry breaking for Moyal spacetimes within a quantisation scheme which preserves the twisted Poincaré symmetry. Towards this purpose, we develop the LSZ approach for Moyal spacetimes. The latter gives a formula for scattering amplitudes on these spacetimes which can be obtained from the corresponding ones on the commutative spacetime. This formula applies in the presence of spontaneous breakdown of symmetries as well.We also derive Goldstone's theorem on Moyal spacetime. The formalism developed here can be directly applied to the twisted standard model.
The space-time symmetry of noncommutative quantum field theories with a deformed quantization is described by the twisted Poincaré algebra, while that of standard commutative quantum field theories is described by the Poincaré algebra. Based on the equivalence of the deformed theory with a commutative field theory, the correspondence between the twisted Poincaré symmetry of the deformed theory and the Poincaré symmetry of a commutative theory is established. As a by-product, we obtain the conserved charge associated with the twisted Poincaré transformation to make the twisted Poincaré symmetry…
The Moyal and Wick-Voros planes A^{M,V}_θ are *-isomorphic. On each of these planes the Poincaré group acts as a Hopf algebra symmetry if its coproducts are deformed by twist factors. We show that the *-isomorphism T: A^M_θ to A^V_θ does not also map the corresponding twists of the Poincaré group algebra. The quantum field theories on these planes with twisted Poincaré-Hopf symmetries are thus inequivalent. We explicitly verify this result by showing that a non-trivial dependence on the non-commutative parameter is present for the Wick-Voros plane in a self-energy diagram whereas it is known t…
We study the twisted bosonization of massive Thirring model to relate to sine-Gordon model in Moyal spacetime using twisted commutation relations. We obtain the relevant twisted bosonization rules. We show that there exists dual rela- tionship between twisted bosonic and fermionic operators. The strong-weak duality is also observed to be preserved as its commutative counterpart.
We consider two new classes of twisted D=4 quantum Poincaré symmetries described as the dual pairs of noncocommutative Hopf algebras. Firstly we investigate a two-parameter class of twisted Poincaré algebras which provide the examples of Lie-algebraic noncommutativity of the translations. The corresponding associative star-products and new deformed Lie-algebraic Minkowski spaces are introduced. We discuss further the twist deformations of Poincaré symmetries generated by the twist with its carrier in Lorentz algebra. We describe corresponding deformed Poincaré group which provides the quadrati…
The concept of twisted Poincaré symmetry, as well as some implications, are reviewed. The spin-statistics relation and the nonlocality of NC QFT are discussed in the light of this quantum symmetry. The possibility of a twisted symmetry principle for quantum field and gauge theories formulated on a noncommutative space-time is also explored.
We consider the twisting of Hopf structure for classical enveloping algebra $U(\hat{g})$, where $\hat{g}$ is the inhomogenous rotations algebra, with explicite formulae given for $D=4$ Poincaré algebra $(\hat{g}={\cal P}_4).$ The comultiplications of twisted $U^F({\cal P}_4)$ are obtained by conjugating primitive classical coproducts by $F\in U(\hat{c})\otimes U(\hat{c}),$ where $\hat{c}$ denotes any Abelian subalgebra of ${\cal P}_4$, and the universal $R-$matrices for $U^F({\cal P}_4)$ are triangular. As an example we show that the quantum deformation of Poincaré algebra recently proposed by…
It is by now well known that the Poincaré group acts on the Moyal plane with a twisted coproduct. Poincaré invariant classical field theories can be formulated for this twisted coproduct. In this paper we systematically study such a twisted Poincaré action in quantum theories on the Moyal plane. We develop quantum field theories invariant under the twisted action from the representations of the Poincaré group, ensuring also the invariance of the S-matrix under the twisted action of the group . A significant new contribution here is the construction of the Poincaré generators using quantum fiel…
We present a systematic framework for noncommutative (NC) QFT within the new concept of relativistic invariance based on the notion of twisted Poincaré symmetry (with all 10 generators), as proposed in ref. [7]. This allows to formulate and investigate all fundamental issues of relativistic QFT and offers a firm frame for the classification of particles according to the representation theory of the twisted Poincaré symmetry and as a result for the NC versions of CPT and spin-statistics theorems, among others, discussed earlier in the literature. As a further application of this new concept of …
Einstein's Theory of General Relativity was formulated as a gauge theory of Lorentz symmetry by Utiyama in 1956, while the Einstein-Cartan gravitational theory was formulated by Kibble in 1961 as the gauge theory of Poincare transformations. In a noncommutative space-time with canonical commutation relations between the coordintes, Lorentz symmetry is violated and field theories constructed on such space-times have instead the so-called twisted Poincare invariance. In this paper a gauge theory formulation of noncommutative gravity is proposed based on the twisted Poincare symmetry together wit…
It is known that Berry curvature of the band structure of certain crystals can lead to effective noncommutativity between spatial coordinates. Using the techniques of twisted quantum field theory, we investigate the question of the formation of a paired state of twisted fermions in such a system. We find that to leading order in the noncommutativity parameter, the gap between the non-interacting ground state and the paired state is {\it smaller} compared to its commutative counterpart. This suggests that BCS type superconductivity, if present in such systems, is more fragile and easier to disr…
Quantum theories constructed on the noncommutative spacetime called the Groenewold-Moyal(GM) plane exhibit many interesting properties such as causality violation, Lorentz and CPT non-invariance and twisted statistics. Such violations lead to many striking features that may be tested experimentally. Thus these theories predict Pauli-forbidden transitions due to twisted statistics, anisotropies and acausal effects in the cosmic microwave background radiation in correlations of observables and Lorentz and CPT violations in scattering amplitudes. Such features of quantum physics on the GM plane a…
We discuss a generalisation of the Snyder model that includes all the possible deformations of the Heisenberg algebra compatible with Lorentz invariance, in terms of realisations of the noncommutative geometry. The corresponding deformed addition of momenta, the twist and the $R$-matrix are calculated to first order in the deformation parameters for all models. In the particular case of the Snyder realisation, the exact formula for the twist is obtained.
In the Hamiltonian formulation of general relativity, Einstein's equation is replaced by a set of four constraints. Classically, the constraints can be identified with the generators of the hypersurface-deformation Lie algebroid (HDA) that belongs to the groupoid of finite evolutions in space-time. Taken over to deformed general relativity, this connection allows one to study possible Drinfeld twists of space-time diffeomorphisms with Hopf-algebra techniques. After a review of noncommutative differential structures, two cases --- twisted diffeomorphisms with standard action and deformed (or $\…
Quantum theories constructed on the noncommutative spacetime called the Groenewold-Moyal plane exhibit many interesting properties such as Lorentz and CPT noninvariance, causality violation and twisted statistics. We show that such violations lead to many striking features that may be tested experimentally. These theories predict Pauli forbidden transitions due to twisted statistics, anisotropies in the cosmic microwave background radiation due to correlations of observables in spacelike regions and Lorentz and CPT violations in scattering amplitudes.
Recent work [hep-th/0504183,hep-th/0508002] indicates an approach to the formulation of diffeomorphism invariant quantum field theories (qft's) on the Groenewold-Moyal (GM) plane. In this approach to the qft's, statistics gets twisted and the S-matrix in the non-gauge qft's becomes independent of the noncommutativity parameter theta^{μν}. Here we show that the noncommutative algebra has a commutative spacetime algebra as a substructure: the Poincare, diffeomorphism and gauge groups are based on this algebra in the twisted approach as is known already from the earlier work of [hep-th/0510059]. …
We give an introductory review of quantum physics on the noncommutative spacetime called the Groenewold-Moyal plane. Basic ideas like star products, twisted statistics, second quantized fields and discrete symmetries are discussed. We also outline some of the recent developments in these fields and mention where one can search for experimental signals.
The twist-deformed conformal algebra is constructed as a Hopf algebra with twisted co-product. This allows for the definition of conformal symmetry in a non-commutative background geometry. The twisted co-product is reviewed for the Poincaré algebra and the construction is then extended to the full conformal algebra. It is demonstrated that conformal invariance need not be viewed as incompatible with non-commutative geometry; the non-commutativity of the coordinates appears as a consequence of the twisting, as has been shown in the literature in the case of the twisted Poincaré algebra.
Within the context of the twisted Poincaré algebra, there exists no noncommutative analogue of the Minkowski space interpreted as the homogeneous space of the Poincaré group quotiented by the Lorentz group. The usual definition of commutative classical fields as sections of associated vector bundles on the homogeneous space does not generalise to the noncommutative setting, and the twisted Poincaré algebra does not act on noncommutative fields in a canonical way. We make a tentative proposal for the definition of noncommutative classical fields of any spin over the Moyal space, which has the d…
In Minkowski space, an accelerated reference frame may be defined as one that is related to an inertial frame by a sequence of instantaneous Lorentz transformations. Such an accelerated observer sees a causal horizon, and the quantum vacuum of the inertial observer appears thermal to the accelerated observer, also known as the Unruh effect. We argue that an accelerating frame may be similarly defined (i.e. as a sequence of instantaneous Lorentz transformations) in noncommutative Moyal spacetime, and discuss the twisted quantum field theory appropriate for such an accelerated observer. Our anal…
By twisting the commutation relations between creation and annihilation operators, we show that quantum conformal invariance can be implemented in the 2-d Moyal plane. This is an explicit realization of an infinite dimensional symmetry as a quantum algebra.
We analyze symmetries of the 1-loop effective action of ϕ^4 noncommutative field theory. It is shown, that despite the twisted Poincaré invariance of the classical noncommutative action, its 1-loop quantum counterpart lacks this invariance. Though Noether analysis of the model is somewhat obscure, it is still possible to interpret this symmetry breaking as a quantum anomaly due to inappropriate choice of the quantization method.
In this paper we deduce the sketch of proof of the Duistermaat-Heckman formula and investigate how the known Duistermaat-Heckman result could be specialized to the symplectic structure on the orbit space. The theorems of localization in equivariant cohomology not only provide us with beautiful mathematical formulas and stimulate achievements in algorithmic computations, but also promote progress in theoretical and mathematical physics. We present the elliptic genera and the characteristic $q$-series for the circle actions and twisted equivariant K-theory, with the case of the symmetric group o…
We discussed twisted quantum deformations of D=4 Lorentz and Poincare algebras. In the case of Poincare algebra it is shown that almost all classical r-matrices of S.Zakrzewski classification can be presented as a sum of subordinated r-matrices of Abelian and Jordanian types. Corresponding twists describing quantum deformations are obtained in explicit form. This work is an extended version of the paper \url{arXiv:0704.0081v1 [math.QA]}.
In previous work, starting from the Moyal plane, we formulated interacting theories of matter and gauge fields with only the former fields twisted. In this approach, gauge theories, including the standard model, can be formulated without new gauge degrees of freedom. We show their underlying symmetry algebra to be Poincaré quasi-Hopf . The associated spacetime algebra is hence non-associative.
We describe the twisted space-time symmetries which imply the quantum Poincaré covariance of noncommutative Minkowski spaces, with constant, Lie algebraic and quadratic commutators. Further we present the relativistic and nonrelativistic particle models invariant respectively under twisted relativistic and twisted Galilean symmetries.
The concept of a noncommutative field is formulated based on the interplay between twisted Poincaré symmetry and residual symmetry of the Lorentz group. Various general dynamical results supporting this construction, such as the light-wedge causality condition and the integrability condition for Tomonaga-Schwinger equation, are presented. Based on this analysis, the claim of the identity between commutative QFT and noncommutative QFT with twisted Poincaré symmetry is refuted.
Following up the work of [1] on deformed algebras, we present a class of Poincaré invariant quantum field theories with particles having deformed internal symmetries. The twisted quantum fields discussed in this work satisfy commutation relations different from the usual bosonic/fermionic commutation relations. Such twisted fields by construction are nonlocal in nature. Despite this nonlocality we show that it is possible to construct local interaction Hamiltonians which satisfy cluster decomposition principle and are Lorentz invariant. We further illustrate these ideas by considering global S…
In a previous paper, we investigated the Hopf algebra structure in string theory and gave a unified formulation of the quantization of the string and the space-time symmetry. In this paper, this formulation is applied to the case with a nonzero B-field background, and the twist of the Poincare symmetry is studied. The Drinfeld twist accompanied by the B-field background gives an alternative quantization scheme, which requires a new normal ordering. In order to obtain a physical interpretation of this twisted Hopf algebra structure, we propose a method to decompose the twist into two successive…
Gauge theories are studied on a space of functions with the Moyal-Weyl product. The development of these ideas follows the differential geometry of the usual gauge theories, but several changes are forced upon us. The Leibniz rule has to be changed such that the theory is now based on a twisted Hopf algebra. Nevertheless, this twisted symmetry structure leads to conservation laws. The symmetry has to be extended from Lie algebra valued to enveloping algebra valued and new vector potentials have to be introduced. As usual, field equations are subjected to consistency conditions that restrict th…
We investigate one of the consequences of the twisted Poincare symmetry. We derive the charge conservation law and show that the equivalence principle is satisfied in the canonical noncommutative spacetime. We applied the twisted Poincare symmetry to the Weinberg's analysis. To this end, we generalize our earlier construction of the twisted S matrix \cite{Bu}, which apply the noncommutativity to the fourier modes, to the massless fields of integer spins. The transformation formula for the twisted S matrix for the massless fields of integer spin has been obtained. For massless fields of spin 1,…
Yang's theorem forbids the process $Z^0 \to 2γ$ in any Poincaré invariant theory if photons are bosons and their two-particle states transform under the Poincaré group in the standard way (under the standard coproduct of the Poincaré group). This is an important result as it does not depend on the assumptions of quantum field theory. Recent work on noncommutative geometry requires deforming the above coproduct by the Drinfel'd twist. We prove that $Z^0 \to 2γ$ is forbidden for the twisted coproduct as well. This result is also independent of the assumptions of quantum field theory. As an illus…
We interpret, in the realm of relativistic quantum field theory, the tangential operator given by Coleman, Mandula as an appropriate coordinate operator. The investigation shows that the operator generates a Snyder-like noncommutative spacetime with a minimal length that is given by the mass. By using this operator to define a noncommutative spacetime, we obtain a Poincaré invariant noncommutative spacetime and in addition solve the soccer-ball problem. Moreover, from recent progress in deformation theory we extract the idea how to obtain, in a physical and mathematical well-defined manner, an…
We argue that Poincaré symmetry can be implemented in NCFT if we allow the parameter of noncommutitive deformation $θ^{μν}$ to change as a two-tensor under the corresponding space-time symmetry. The implementation is consistent with the definition of $θ^{μν}$ in terms of space-time coordinates and with the Moyal star product. Inspired from the standard definition of a variational symmetry we found a universal way to correct the implementation of the Poincaré symmetry by a term proportional to the variation of $θ^{μν}$ in such a way that the new transformation define a symmetry of the theory. F…
Fully Poincaré covariant quantum field theories on non-commutative Moyal Minkowski spacetime so far have been considered in their vacuum representations, i.e. at zero temperature. Here we report on work in progress regarding their thermal representations, corresponding to physical states at non-zero temperature, which turn out to be markedly different from both, thermal representations of quantum field theory on commutative Minkowski spacetime, and such representations of non-covariant quantum field theory on Moyal Minkowski space with a fixed deformation matrix.
We investigate a quantum geometric space in the context of what could be considered an emerging effective theory from Quantum Gravity. Specifically we consider a two-parameter class of twisted Poincaré algebras, from which Lie-algebraic noncommutativities of the translations are derived as well as associative star-products, deformed Riemannian geometries, Lie-algebraic twisted Minkowski spaces and quantum effects that arise as noncommutativities. Starting from a universal differential algebra of forms based on the above mentioned Lie-algebraic noncommutativities of the translations, we constru…
$κ$-Poincaré invariant gauge theories on $κ$-Minkowski space-time, which are noncommutative analogs of the usual $U(1)$ gauge theory, exist only in five dimensions. These are built from noncommutative twisted connections on a hermitian right module over the algebra coding the $κ$-Minkowski space-time. We show that twisting the action of this algebra on the hermitian module, assumed to be a copy of it, affects neither the value of the above dimension nor the noncommutative gauge group defined as the unitary automorphisms of the module leaving the hermitian structure unchanged. Only the hermitic…
In this paper, we further develop the analysis started in an earlier paper on the inequivalence of certain quantum field theories on noncommutative spacetimes constructed using twisted fields. The issue is of physical importance. Thus it is well known that the commutation relations among spacetime coordinates, which define a noncommutative spacetime, do not constrain the deformation induced on the algebra of functions uniquely. Such deformations are all mathematically equivalent in a very precise sense. Here we show how this freedom at the level of deformations of the algebra of functions can …
By application of the general twist-induced star-deformation procedure we translate second quantization of a system of bosons/fermions on a symmetric spacetime in a non-commutative language. The procedure deforms in a coordinated way the spacetime algebra and its symmetries, the wave-mechanical description of a system of n bosons/fermions, the algebra of creation and annihilation operators and also the commutation relations of the latter with functions of spacetime; our key requirement is the mode-decomposition independence of the quantum field. In a conservative view, the use of noncommutativ…
In a minimalistic view, the use of noncommutative coordinates can be seen just as a way to better express non-local interactions of a special kind: 1-particle solutions (wavefunctions) of the equation of motion in the presence of an external field may look simpler as functions of noncommutative coordinates. It turns out that also the wave-mechanical description of a system of n such bosons/fermions and its second quantization is simplified if we translate them in terms of their deformed counterparts. The latter are obtained by a general twist-induced *-deformation procedure which deforms in a …
A new twisted deformation, U_z(so(4,2)), of the conformal algebra of the (3+1)-dimensional Minkowskian spacetime is presented. This construction is provided by a classical r-matrix spanned by ten Weyl-Poincare generators, which generalizes non-standard quantum deformations previously obtained for so(2,2) and so(3,2). However, by introducing a conformal null-plane basis it is found that the twist can indeed be supported by an eight-dimensional carrier subalgebra. By construction the Weyl-Poincare subalgebra remains as a Hopf subalgebra after deformation. Non-relativistic limits of U_z(so(4,2)) …
By invoking the concept of twisted Poincar\' e symmetry of the algebra of functions on a Minkowski space-time, we demonstrate that the noncommutative space-time with the commutation relations $[x_μ,x_ν]=iθ_{μν}$, where $θ_{μν}$ is a {\it constant} real antisymmetric matrix, can be interpreted in a Lorentz-invariant way. The implications of the twisted Poincaré symmetry on QFT on such a space-time is briefly discussed. The presence of the twisted symmetry gives justification to all the previous treatments within NC QFT using Lorentz invariant quantities and the representations of the usual Poin…
Kappa-Minkowski space-time is an example of noncommutative space-time with potentially interesting phenomenological consequences. However, the construction of field theories on this space, although operationally well-defined, is plagued with ambiguities. A part of ambiguities can be resolved by clarifying the geometrical picture of gauge transformations on the kappa-Minkowski space-time. To this end we use the twist approach to construct the noncommutative U(1) gauge theory coupled to fermions. However, in this approach we cannot maintain the kappa-Poincaré symmetry; the corresponding symmetry…
Spacetime geometry is twisted (deformed) into noncommutative spacetime geometry, where functions and tensors are now star-multiplied. Consistently, spacetime diffeomorhisms are twisted into noncommutative diffeomorphisms. Their deformed Lie algebra structure and that of infinitesimal Poincare' transformations is defined and explicitly constructed. This allows to construct a noncommutative theory of gravity.
We discuss twisted covariance over the noncommutative spacetime algebra generated by the relations [q_theta^mu,q_theta^nu]=i theta^{mu nu}, where the matrix theta is treated as fixed (not a tensor), and we refrain from using the asymptotic Moyal expansion of the twists. We show that the tensor nature of theta is only hidden in the formalism: in particular if theta fulfils the DFR conditions, the twisted Lorentz covariant model of the flat quantum spacetime may be equivalently described in terms of the DFR model, if we agree to discard a huge non invariant set of localisation states; it is only…
By applying properly the concept of twist symmetry to the gauge invariant theories, we arrive at the conclusion that previously proposed in the literature noncommutative gauge theories, with the use of $\star$-product, are the correct ones, which possess the twisted Poincaré symmetry. At the same time, a recent approach to twisted gauge transformations is in contradiction with the very concept of gauge fields arising as a consequence of {\it local} internal symmetry. Detailed explanations of this fact as well as the origin of the discrepancy between the two approaches are presented.
We consider a two parameter family of Drinfeld twists generated from a simple Jordanian twist further twisted by 1-cochains. Twists from this family interpolate between two simple Jordanian twists. Relations between them are constructed and discussed. It is proved that there exists a one parameter family of twists identical to a simple Jordanian twist. The twisted coalgebra, star product and coordinate realizations of the $κ$-Minkowski noncommutative space time are presented. Real forms of Jordanian deformations are also discussed. The method of similarity transformations is applied to the Poi…
We discuss the construction of $κ$-Poincaré invariant actions for gauge theories on $κ$-Minkowski spaces. We consider various classes of untwisted and (bi)twisted differential calculi. Starting from a natural class of noncommutative differential calculi based on a particular type of twisted derivations belonging to the algebra of deformed translations, combined with a twisted extension of the notion of connection, we prove an algebraic relation between the various twists and the classical dimension d of the $κ$-Minkowski space(-time) ensuring the gauge invariance of the candidate actions for g…
In this paper we study the deformed statistics and oscillator algebras of quantum fields defined in $κ$-Minkowski spacetime. The twisted flip operator obtained from the twist associated with the star product requires an enlargement of the Poincaré algebra to include the dilatation generators. Here we propose a novel notion of a fully covariant flip operator and show that to the first order in the deformation parameter it can be expressed completely in terms of the Poincaré generators alone. The $R$-matrices corresponding to the twisted and the covariant flip operators are compared up to first …
