Twisted Quantum Fields on Moyal and Wick-Voros Planes are Inequivalent

The Moyal and Wick-Voros planes A^{M,V}_θ are *-isomorphic. On each of these planes the Poincaré group acts as a Hopf algebra symmetry if its coproducts are deformed by twist factors. We show that the *-isomorphism T: A^M_θ to A^V_θ does not also map the corresponding twists of the Poincaré group algebra. The quantum field theories on these planes with twisted Poincaré-Hopf symmetries are thus inequivalent. Thermal effective potential in two- and three- dimensional non-commutative spaces

Thermal correlation functions and the associated effective statistical potential are computed in two- and three-dimensional non-commutative space using an operator formulation that makes no reference to a star product. The corresponding results for the Moyal and Voros star products are then easily obtained by taking the corresponding overlap with Moyal and Voros bases. In this paper, we further develop the analysis started in an earlier paper on the inequivalence of certain quantum field theories on noncommutative spacetimes constructed using twisted fields. The issue is of physical importance. Thus it is well known that the commutation relations among spacetime coordinates, which define a noncommutative spacetime, do not constrain the deformation induced on the algebra of functions uniquely. Moyal Planes are Spectral Triples

Axioms for nonunital spectral triples, extending those introduced in the unital case by Connes, are proposed. As a guide, and for the sake of their importance in noncommutative quantum field theory, the spaces $\R^{2N}$ endowed with Moyal products are intensively investigated. Some physical applications, such as the construction of noncommutative Wick monomials and the computation of the Connes--Lott functional action, are given for these noncommutative hyperplanes.

Voros product and the Pauli principle at low energies

Using the Voros star product, we investigate the status of the two particle correlation function to study the possible extent to which the previously proposed violation of the Pauli principle may impact at low energies. The results show interesting features which are not present in the computations made using the Moyal star product.

Matrix Bases for Star Products: a Review

We review the matrix bases for a family of noncommutative $\star$ products based on a Weyl map. These products include the Moyal product, as well as the Wick-Voros products and other translation invariant ones. We also review the derivation of Lie algebra type star products, with adapted matrix bases. We discuss the uses of these matrix bases for field theory, fuzzy spaces and emergent gravity.

Non-commutative Field Theory, Translational Invariant Products and Ultraviolet/Infrared Mixing

We review the Moyal and Wick-Voros products, and more in general the translation invariant non-commutative products, and apply them to classical and quantum field theory. We investigate phi^4 field theories calculating their Green's functions up to one-loop for the two- and four-point cases. We also review the connections of these theories with Drinfeld twists.

Curing the UV/IR mixing for field theories with translation-invariant $\star$ products

The ultraviolet/infrared (UV/IR) mixing of noncommutative field theories has been recently shown to be a generic feature of translation- invariant associative products. In this paper we propose to take into account the quantum corrections of the model to modify in this way the noncommutative action. This idea was already used to cure the UV/IR mixing for theories on Moyal space. We show that in the present framework also, this proposal proves successful for curing the mixing. Noncommutative deformations of quantum field theories, locality, and causality

We investigate noncommutative deformations of quantum field theories for different star products, particularly emphasizing the locality properties and the regularity of the deformed fields. Using functional analysis methods, we describe the basic structural features of the vacuum expectation values of star-modified products of fields and field commutators. As an alternative to microcausality, we introduce a notion of $θ$-locality, where $θ$ is the noncommutativity parameter. Causal Poisson bracket via deformation quantization

Starting with the well-defined product of quantum fields at two spacetime points, we explore an associated Poisson structure for classical field theories within the deformation quantization formalism. We realize that the induced star-product is naturally related to the standard Moyal product through an appropriate causal Green's functions connecting points in the space of classical solutions to the equations of motion.
