We calculate the Feynman formula for the harmonic oscillator beyond and at caustics by the discrete formulation of path integral. The extension has been made by some authors, however, it is not obtained by the method which we consider the most reliable regularization of path integral. It is shown that this method leads to the result with, especially at caustics, more rigorous derivation than previous.

We introduce a general class of generating functionals for the calculation of quantum-mechanical expectation values of arbitrary functionals of fluctuating paths with fixed end points in configuration or momentum space. We apply the Schrödinger factorization to construct the ladder operators for hydrogen atom, Mie-type potential, harmonic oscillator and pseudo-harmonic oscillator in arbitrary dimensions. By generalizing these operators we show that the dynamical algebra for these problems is the $su(1,1)$ Lie algebra.
The unitary operator which transforms a harmonic oscillator system of time-dependent frequency into that of a simple harmonic oscillator of different time-scale is found, with and without an inverse-square potential. Normally, the half-harmonic oscillator is active when $x>0$ and absent when $x<0$. From a canonical quantization perspective, this leads to odd eigenfunctions being present while even eigenfunctions are absent. In that case, only the usual odd eigenfunctions will appear if the wall slides to negative infinity. However, if an affine quantization is used, sliding the wall away shows that all the odd and even eigenfunctions are encountered, exactly like any full-harmonic oscillator. We provide numerical support for this.

We give an alternative formulation of the no-cloning theorem that applies to harmonic oscillator coherent states. It says that {\em unknown} single harmonic oscillator coherent states can not be {\em amplified}. Conversely it says that {\em known} harmonic oscillator coherent states can be directly amplified through an universal unitary process. It is also shown that such a formulation is needed for the consistency of {\em information cloning} proposed by us long ago.
It is shown that the eigenvalue problem for the Hamiltonians of the standard form, $H=p^2/(2m)+V(x)$, is equivalent to the classical dynamical equation for certain harmonic oscillators with time-dependent frequency. This is another indication of the central role played by time-dependent harmonic oscillators in quantum mechanics. The quantum constraint equations for a relativistic three-dimensional harmonic oscillator are shown to find concise expression in terms of Lorentz covariant ladder operators. These ladder operators consist of two conjugate 4-vectors that are each constrained to generate three linearly independent combinations of ladder operator components for raising and lowering the eigenstates of the oscillator. Correspondence to the Schrödinger equation for the harmonic oscillator in the non-relativistic limit is demonstrated.

We consider a quantum space with rotationally invariant noncommutative algebra of coordinates and momenta. The algebra contains tensors of noncommutativity constructed involving additional coordinates and momenta. We analyse the properties of a strongly-damped quantum harmonic oscillator by means of an exact diagonalisation of the full Hamiltonian, including both the oscillator and the reservoir degrees of freedom to which it is coupled. Many of the properties of the oscillator, including its steady-state properties and entanglement with the reservoir can be understood and quantified in terms of a simple probability density, which we may associate with the ground-state frequency spectrum of the oscillator.
The solution of the Feinberg-Horodecki (FH) equation for a time-dependent mass (TDM) harmonic oscillator quantum system is studied. We discuss the extension of the Lewis and Riesenfeld method of solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation to cases where the invariant has continuous eigenvalues and apply it to the case of a generalized time-dependent inverted harmonic oscillator. We study the generalized harmonic oscillator which has both the position-dependent mass and the potential depending on the form of mass function in a more general framework. The explicit expressions of the eigenvalue and eigenfunction for such system are given, they have the same forms as those for the usual harmonic oscillator with constant mass. The coherent state and the its properties for the system with PDM are also discussed. We give the corresponding effective potentials for several mass functions, the systems with such potentials are isospectral to the usual harmonic oscillator.

In this paper we study some basic quantum confinement effects through investigation of a deformed harmonic oscillator algebra. We show that spatial confinement effects on a quantum harmonic oscillator can be represented by a deformation function within the framework of nonlinear coherent states theory. We construct the coherent states associated with the spatially confined quantum harmonic oscillator in a one-dimensional infinite well and examine some of their quantum statistical properties, including sub-poissonian statistics and quadrature squeezing.
Two methods to change a quantum harmonic oscillator frequency without transitions in a finite time are described and compared. The first method, a transitionless-tracking algorithm, makes use of a generalized harmonic oscillator and a non-local potential. The second method, based on engineering an invariant of motion, only modifies the harmonic frequency in time, keeping the potential local at all times.

This work is mainly based on some theoretical surveys on two dimensional quantum gravitational well, considering harmonic oscillator potential causes an effective plank constant. Berry phase of simple harmonic oscillator is considered in a general representation. It is shown that, Berry phase which depends on the choice of representation can be defined under evolution of the half of period of the classical motions, as well as under evolution of the period. The Berry phases do {\em not} depend on the mass or angular frequency of the oscillator. The driven harmonic oscillator is also considered, and the Berry phase is given in terms of Fourier coefficients of the external force and parameters which determine the representation.

We present an interesting result regarding the implication of truncating the wavepacket of the harmonic oscillator. We show that disregarding the non-significant tails of a function which is the superposition of eigenfunctions of the harmonic oscillator has a remarkable consequence: namely, there exist infinitely many different superpositions giving rise to the same function on the interval. Uniqueness, in the case of a wavepacket, is restored by a postulate of quantum mechanics.

After a brief introduction recalling how, in the limit in which the mass and the electric charge of the electron and the positron tend to zero, Quantum Electrodynamics reduces to a collection of uncoupled quantum supersymmetric harmonic oscillators, the phase operator of the quantum fermionic harmonic oscillator and of the quantum supersymmetric harmonic oscillator are introduced and their properties analyzed. String models are designed to provide a covariant description of internal space-time structure of relativistic particles. The string is a limiting case of a series of massive beads like a pearl necklace. In the limit of infinite-number of zero-mass beads, it becomes a field-theoretic string.
