如果没有维数限制,我们得到$$\sup_{D_R(x)}|B|^2\le C R^{-a}\sup_{D_{2R}(x)}(2-\De_f)^{-(\f{3}{2}+\f{1}{s})}, \qquad s=\min(m, n)$$与$a<1$的条件下$$\De_f=[\text{det}(\de_{ij}+\sum_\a\pd{f^\a}{x^i}\pd{f^\a}{x^j})]^{\f{1}{2}}<2.$$如果高斯映射下的图像包含在一个测地线球的半径$\f{\sqrt{2}}{4}π$在$\grs{n}{m}$,我们也得到相应的估计。

We study that the $n-$graphs defining by smooth map $f:\Om\subset \ir{n}\to \ir{m}, m\ge 2,$ in $\ir{m+n}$ of the prescribed mean curvature and the Gauss image. We derive the interior curvature estimates $$\sup_{D_R(x)}|B|^2\le\f{C}{R^2}$$ under the dimension limitations and the Gauss image restrictions. If there is no dimension limitation we obtain $$\sup_{D_R(x)}|B|^2\le C R^{-a}\sup_{D_{2R}(x)}(2-\De_f)^{-(\f{3}{2}+\f{1}{s})}, \qquad s=\min(m, n)$$ with $a<1$ under the condition $$\De_f=[\text{det}(\de_{ij}+\sum_\a\pd{f^\a}{x^i}\pd{f^\a}{x^j})]^{\f{1}{2}}<2.$$ If the image under the Gauss map is contained in a geodesic ball of the radius $\f{\sqrt{2}}{4}π$ in $\grs{n}{m}$ we also derive corresponding estimates.
We prove a sharp area estimate for minimal submanifolds that pass through a prescribed point in a geodesic ball in hyperbolic space, in any dimension and codimension. In certain cases, we also prove the corresponding estimate in the sphere. Our estimates are analogous to those of Brendle and Hung in the Euclidean setting.
We obtain upper and lower bounds for Steklov eigenvalues of submanifolds with prescribed boundary in Euclidean space. A very general upper bound is proved, which depends only on the geometry of the fixed boundary and on the measure of the interior. Sharp lower bounds are given for hypersurfaces of revolution with connected boundary: we prove that each eigenvalue is uniquely minimized by the ball. We also observe that each surface of revolution with connected boundary is isospectral to the disk.
We discover new monotonicity formulae for minimal submanifolds in space forms, which imply the sharp area bound for minimal submanifolds through a prescribed point in a geodesic ball. These monotonicity formulae involve an energy-like integral over sets which are, in general, not geodesic balls. In the Euclidean case, these sets reduce to the moving-centre balls introduced by the second author in [Zhu18].
It is proved some results about existence and non existence of unit normal sections of submanifolds of the Euclidean space and sphere which associated Gauss maps are harmonic. Some applications to CMC hypersurfaces of the sphere and isoparametric submanifolds are obtained too.
The Gauss map of a hypersurface of a unit sphere $S^{n+1}(1)$ is a Lagrangian immersion into the complex quadric $Q^n$ and, conversely, every Lagrangian submanifold of $Q^n$ is locally the image under the Gauss map of several hypersurfaces of $S^{n+1}(1)$. In this paper, we give explicit constructions for these correspondences and we prove a relation between the principal curvatures of a hypersurface of $S^{n+1}(1)$ and the local angle functions of the corresponding Lagrangian submanifold of $Q^n$. The existence of such a relation is remarkable since the definition of the angle functions depen…
These are lecture notes for the mini-course \textit{PDE and hypersurfaces with prescribed mean curvature} held in Federal University of São Carlos at the Workshop on Submanifold Theory and Geometric Analysis, August 05 -- 09, 2019. The aim of these notes is to introduce to the geometers useful tools from the \textit{Theory of partial differential equations} which are used in order to obtain hypersurfaces with prescribed mean curvature. For instance, graphs with prescribed mean curvature can be obtained by solving the Dirichlet problem for a particular quasilinear elliptic partial differential …
For a submanifold with flat normal bundle in a space form there is a normal orthonormal basis that simultaneously diagonalizes the corresponding Weingarten operators, and at which these operators satisfy a simple Codazzi symmetry. When the second fundamental form has zero index of relative nullity, the image of the Gauss map as defined by Obata is a submanifold of a generalized Grassmannian manifold, with induced metric given by the third fundamental form, corresponding to the sum of the squares of these operators. In this case, we show that the Riemann curvature tensor of the Gauss image is c…
We study associative submanifolds of the Berger space SO(5)/SO(3) endowed with its homogeneous nearly-parallel G2-structure. We focus on two geometrically interesting classes: the ruled associatives, and the associatives with special Gauss map. We show that the associative submanifolds ruled by a certain special type of geodesic are in correspondence with pseudo-holomorphic curves in $Gr_2^+(TS^4).$ Using this correspondence, together with a theorem of Bryant on superminimal surfaces in $S^4,$ we prove the existence of infinitely many topological types of compact immersed associative 3-folds i…
We study rotational surfaces in Euclidean 3-space whose Gauss curvature is given as a prescribed function of its Gauss map. By means of a phase plane analysis and under mild assumptions on the prescribed function, we generalize the classification of rotational surfaces of constant Gauss curvature; exhibit examples that cannot exist in the constant Gauss curvature case; and analyze the asymptotic behavior of strictly convex graphs. We also prove the existence of singular radial solutions intersecting orthogonally the axis of rotation.
In this paper, we study the regular geometric behavior of the mean curvature flow (MCF) of submanifolds in the standard Gaussian metric space $({\mathbb R}^{m+p},e^{-|x|^2/m}\ol g)$ where $({\mathbb R}^{m+p},\ol g)$ is the standard Euclidean space and $x\in{\mathbb R}^{m+p}$ denotes the position vector. Note that, as a special Riemannian manifold, $({\mathbb R}^{m+p},e^{-|x|^2/m}\ol g)$ has an unbounded curvature. Up to a family of diffeomorphisms on $M^m$, the mean curvature flow we considered here turns out to be equivalent to a special variation of the ``{\em conformal mean curvature flow}\…
We consider the complex hyperbolic quadric ${Q^*}^n$ as a complex hypersurface of complex anti-de Sitter space. Shape operators of this submanifold give rise to a family of local almost product structures on ${Q^*}^n$, which are then used to define local angle functions on any Lagrangian submanifold of ${Q^*}^n$. We prove that a Lagrangian immersion into ${Q^*}^n$ can be seen as the Gauss map of a spacelike hypersurface of (real) anti-de Sitter space and relate the angle functions to the principal curvatures of this hypersurface. We also give a formula relating the mean curvature of the Lagran…
We prove the existence of metrics with prescribed $Q$-curvature under natural assumptions on the sign of the prescribing function and the background metric. In the dimension four case, we also obtain existence results for curvature forms requiring only restrictions on the Euler characteristic. Moreover, we derive a prescription result for open submanifolds which allow us to conclude that any smooth function on $\mathbb{R}^n$ can be realized as the $Q$-curvature of a Riemannian metric.
The goal of the present paper is to investigate the algebraic structure of global conformal invariants of submanifolds. These are defined to be conformally invariant integrals of geometric scalars of the tangent and normal bundle. A famous example of a global conformal invariant is the Willmore energy of a surface. In codimension one we classify such invariants, showing that under a structural hypothesis (more precisely we assume the integrand depends separately on the intrinsic and extrinsic curvatures, and not on their derivatives) the integrand can only consist of an intrinsic scalar confor…
In this article, we study properly immersed complete noncompact submanifolds in a complete shrinking gradient Ricci soliton with weighted mean curvature vector bounded in norm. We prove that such a submanifold must have polynomial volume growth under some mild assumption on the potential function. On the other hand, if the ambient manifold is of bounded geometry, we prove that such a submanifold must have at least linear volume growth. In particular, we show that a properly immersed complete noncompact hypersurface in the Euclidean space with bounded Gaussian weighted mean curvature must have …
In this article, we construct a new para-Kähler structure $({\mathcal G},{\mathcal J},Ω)$ in the space of oriented geodesics ${\mathbb L}(M)$ in a non-flat, real space form $M$. We first show that the para-Kähler metric ${\mathcal G}$ is scalar flat and when $M$ is a 3-dimensional real space form, ${\mathcal G}$ is locally conformally flat. Furthermore, we prove that the space of oriented geodesics in hyperbolic $n$-space, equipped with the constructed metric ${\mathcal G}$, is minimally isometric embedded in the tangent bundle of the hyperbolic $n$-space. We then study the submanifold theory,…
Given $a,b\in\mathbb{R}$ and $Φ\in C^1(\mathbb{S}^2)$, we study immersed oriented surfaces $Σ$ in the Euclidean 3-space $\mathbb{R}^3$ whose mean curvature $H$ and Gauss curvature $K$ satisfy $2aH+bK=Φ(N)$, where $N:Σ\rightarrow\mathbb{S}^2$ is the Gauss map. This theory widely generalize some of paramount importance such as the ones constant mean and Gauss curvature surfaces, linear Weingarten surfaces and self-translating solitons of the mean curvature flow. Under mild assumptions on the prescribed function $Φ$, we exhibit a classification result for rotational surfaces in the case that the …
Given a $C^1$ function $\mathcal{H}$ defined in the unit sphere $\mathbb{S}^2$, an $\mathcal{H}$-surface $M$ is a surface in the Euclidean space $\mathbb{R}^3$ whose mean curvature $H_M$ satisfies $H_M(p)=\mathcal{H}(N_p)$, $p\in M$, where $N$ is the Gauss map of $M$. Given a closed simple curve $Γ\subset\mathbb{R}^3$ and a function $\mathcal{H}$, in this paper we investigate the geometry of compact $\mathcal{H}$-surfaces spanning $Γ$ in terms of $Γ$. Under mild assumptions on $\mathcal{H}$, we prove non-existence of closed $\mathcal{H}$-surfaces, in contrast with the classical case of constan…
