We consider a curve $α=α(s)$ in Minkowski 3-space $E_1^3$ and denote by $\{T,N,B}$ the Frenet frame of $α$. We say that $α$ is a slant helix if there exists a fixed direction $U$ of $E_1^3$ such that the function $<N(s),U>$ is constant. In this work we give characterizations of slant helices in terms of the curvature and torsion of $α$.
In this paper, in Euclidean n -space, we investigate the relation between slant helices and spherical helices. Moreover, in E n, we show that a slant helix and the tangent indicatrix of the slant helix have the same axis (or direction). Also, we give the important relations between slant helices, spherical helices in E n and geodesic curves on a helix hypersurface in E n.
In this paper, we define slant helices in three dimensional Lie Groups with a bi-invariant metric and obtain a characterization of slant helices. Moreover, we give some relations between slant helices and their involutes, spherical images.
In this study, we give definitions and characterizations of eikonal slant helices, eikonal Darboux helices and non-normed eikonal Darboux helices in 3-dimensional pseudo- Riemannian manifold M . We show that every eikonal slant helix is also an eikonal Darboux helix for timelike and spacelike curves. Furthermore, we obtain that if the non-null curve a is a non-normed eikonal Darboux helix, then a is an eikonal slant helix if and only if 2 2 e 3k +e1t = constant, where k and t are curvature and torsion of a, respectively. Finally, we define null-eikonal helices, slant helices and Darboux helice…
In this paper we consider the spherical slant helices in $R^3$. More- over, we show how could be obtained to a spherical slant helix and we give some spherical slant helix examples in Euclidean 3-space.

We show that every eikonal slant helix is also an eikonal Darboux helix. Furthermore, we obtain that if the curve a is a non-normed eikonal Darboux helix, then a is an eikonal slant helix if and only if k 2 +t 2 = constant, where k and t are curvature and torsion of a, respectively.
In this paper, we define f-eikonal helix curves and f-eikonal V_{n}-slant helix curves in a n-dimensional Riemannian manifold. Also, we give the definition of harmonic curvature functions related to f-eikonal helix curves and f-eikonal V_{n}-slant helix curves in a n-dimensional Riemannian manifold. Moreover, we give characterizations for f-eikonal helix curves and f-eikonal V_{n}-slant helix curves by making use of the harmonic curvature functions.
In this paper, we define the notion of eikonal helix and eikonal slant helix for null curves in the 4-dimensional Lorentzian manifold M 1 4 and give a characterization for the null curve to be the null eikonal helix. Moreover, we indicate an important relation between the null eikonal helix and null eikonal slant helix and find the axis of the null eikonal helix. We obtain some relationships between the curvatures of these curves.
In this work, notion of a slant helix is extended to space E$^n$. Necessary and sufficient conditions to be a slant helix in the Euclidean $n-$space are presented. Moreover, we express some integral characterizations of such curves in terms of curvature functions.
In this study, we have identified $V_3$ slant helix ($2^{nd}$ type slant helix, $V_5$ slant helix ($3^{rd}$ type slant helix) and attained some characteristic properties in the Euclidean 5-Space $E^5$. In addition to this, we have proven that there are no other helices other than $V_1$ helix (inclined curve), $V_3$ slant helix and $V_5$ slant helix in the 5-dimensional Euclidean space $E^5$.
We introduce the notion of $k$-type slant helix in Minkowski space $\e_1^4$. For partially null and pseudo null curves in $\e_1^4$, we express some characterizations in terms of their curvature and torsion functions.

We consider a unit speed curve $α$ in Euclidean four-dimensional space $E^4$ and denote the Frenet frame by $\{T,N,B_1,B_2\}$. We say that $α$ is a slant helix if its principal normal vector $N$ makes a constant angle with a fixed direction $U$. In this work we give different characterizations of such curves in terms of their curvatures.
A focal representation of a generic regular curve γ in E^{m+1} consists of the centers of the osculating hyperplanes. A k-slant helix γ in E^{m+1} is a (generic) regular curve whose unit normal vector V_{k} makes a constant angle with a fixed direction U in E^{m+1}. In the present paper we proved that if γ is a k-slant helix in E^{m+1}, then the focal representation C_{γ} of γ in E^{m+1} is a (m-k+2)-slant helix in E^{m+1}.
In classical differential geometry, the problem of the determination of the position vector of an arbitrary space curve according to the intrinsic equations $κ=κ(s)$ and $τ=τ(s)$ (where $κ$ and $τ$ are the curvature and torsion of the space curve $ψ$, respectively) is still open \cite{eisenh, lips}. However, in the case of a plane curve, helix and general helix, this problem is solved. In this paper, we solved this problem in the case of a slant helix. Also, we applied this method to find the representation of a Salkowski, anti-Salkowski curves and a curve of constant precession, as examples o…
We consider a unit speed timelike curve $α$ in Minkowski 4-space $E_1^4$ and denote the Frenet frame of $α$ by $\{T,N,B_1,B_2\}$. We say that $α$ is a generalized helix if one of the unit vector fields of the Frenet frame has constant scalar product with a fixed direction $U$ of $E_1^4$. In this work we study those helices where the function $<B_2,U>$ is constant and we give different characterizations of such curves.
In this paper, we consider a regular curve on an oriented surface in Euclidean 3-space with the Darboux frame $\{\mathsf{T},\mathsf{V},\mathsf{U}\}$ along the curve, where $\mathsf{T}$ is the unit tangent vector field of the curve, $\mathsf{U}$ is the surface normal restricted to the curve and $\mathsf{V}=\mathsf{U}\times \mathsf{T}$. We define a new curve on a surface by using the Darboux frame. This new curve whose vector field $\mathsf{V}$ makes a constant angle with a fixed direction is called as relatively normal-slant helix. We give some characterizations for such curves and obtain their…

In this paper, we give a definition of harmonic curvature functions in terms of V_{n} and define a new kind of slant helix which is called V_{n}-slant helix in n-dimensional pseudo-Riemannian manifold. Also, we give important characterizations about the helix.
In this work, we studied the properties of the spherical indicatrices of involute curve of a space curve and presented some characteristic properties in the cases that involute curve and evolute curve are slant helices and helices, spherical indicatrices are slant helices and helices and we introduced new representations of spherical indicatrices.
In classical curve theory, the geometry of a curve in three dimensions is essentially characterized by their invariants, curvature and torsion. When they are given, the problem of finding a corresponding curve is known as 'solving natural equations'. Explicit solutions are known only for a handful of curve classes, including notably the plane curves and general helices. This paper shows constructively how to solve the natural equations explicitly for an infinite series of curve classes. For every Frenet curve, a family of successor curves can be constructed which have the tangent of the origin…
In this paper, we define some new associated curves as integral curves of a vector field generated by Frenet vectors of tangent indicatrix of a curve in Euclidean 3-space. We give some relationships between curvatures of these curves. By using these associated curves, we give some methods to construct helices and slant helices from some special spherical curves such as circles on unit sphere, spherical helices, and spherical slant helices. Finally, we give some related examples.

In this paper, we give the definitions and characterizations of quaternionic Salkowski, quaternionic anti-Salkowski and quaternionic similar curves in the Euclidean spaces E^3 and E^4. We obtain relationships between these curves and some special quaternionic curves such as quaternionic slant helices and quaternionic B2-slant helices.

In this paper, we give the characterizations of spacelike B2-slant helix by means of curvatures of the spacelike curve in Minkowski 4-space. Furthermore, we give the integral characterization of the spacelike B2-slant helix.
In this paper, we investigate a curve whose spherical image the tangent indicatrix and binormal indicatrix is slant helix and called it as a slant helix. We obtain that the spherical images are spherical slant helices defined by [3]. This notation is a generalization of a slant helix. Furthermore, we have given some characterizations for the slant helix and we show that a curve of constant precession is a slant helix.
In this work, we studied the properties of the spherical indicatrices of a Bertrand curve and its mate curve and presented some characteristic properties in the cases that Bertrand curve and its mate curve are slant helices, spherical indicatrices are slant helices and we also researched that whether the spherical indicatrices made new curve pairs in the means of Mannheim, involte-evolute and Bertrand pairs. Further more, we investigated the relations between the spherical images and introduced new representations of spherical indicatrices.
In this paper, position vector of a spacelike general helix with respect to standard frame in Minkowski space E$^3_1$ are studied in terms of Frenet equations. First, a vector differential equation of third order is constructed to determine position vector of an arbitrary spacelike general helix. In terms of solution, we determine the parametric representation of the general helices from the intrinsic equations. Moreover, we give some examples to illustrate how to find the position vectors of a spacelike general helices with a spacelike and timelike principal normal vector from the intrinsic e…
In this paper, position vectors of a time-like curve with respect to standard frame of Minkowski space E$^3_1$ are studied in terms of Frenet equations. First, we prove that position vector of every time-like space curve in Minkowski space E$^3_1$ satisfies a vector differential equation of fourth order. The general solution of mentioned vector differential equation has not yet been found. By special cases, we determine the parametric representation of the general helices from the intrinsic equations (i.e. curvature and torsion are functions of arc-length) of the time-like curve. Moreover, we …
In this study, the new characterizations of special curves are investigated without using the curvatures of these special curves: general helices, slant helices, Bertrand curves, Mannheim curves. The curvatures are given by the help of the norms of the derivatives of Frenet vectors.
In this study, we introduce a new approach to curve pairs by using integral curves. We consider the direction curve and donor curve to study curve couples such as involute-evolute curves, Mannheim partner curves and Bertrand partner curves. We obtain new methods to construct partner curves of a unit speed curve and give some applications related to helices, slant helices and plane curves.
In this paper, we introduce a new approach to non-lightlike curve pairs by using integral curves in Minkowski 3-space. We consider direction curve and donor curve to study non-lightlike curve couples such as involute-evolute curves, Mannheim partner curves and Bertrand partner curves. We obtain new methods to construct partner curves of a unit speed non-lightlike curve and give some applications related to helices and slant helices.
In this paper, we investigate the tangent indicatrix of the curve C with constant curvature. Tangent indicatrix of the curve C is characterized with det(C^(3),C^(4),C^(5))=0 in Minkowski 3-space E13. Moreover, we study null slant helices using the determinant approach and give the following characterization: A curve C is a null slant helix in E13 if and only if det(C^(3),C^(4),C^(5))=0. Then similar results are obtained for non-null curves with the condition k=1.
Let $(\mathbb{M}_{1}^{2},g)$ be a Minkowski surface and $(T_1\mathbb{M}_1^2, g_1)$ its unit tangent bundle endowed with the pseudo-Riemannian induced Sasaki metric. We extend in this paper the study of the N-Legendre and N-slant curves which the inner product of normal vector and Reeb vector is zero and nonzero constant respectively in $\left( T_1 \mathbb{M}_1^2, g_1 \right)$, given in \cite{hmy}, to the Minkowski context and several important characterizations of these curves are given.\newline
In the present paper, a new type of ruled surfaces called osculating-type (OT)-ruled surface is introduced and studied. First, a new orthonormal frame is defined for OT-ruled surfaces. The Gaussian and the mean curvatures of these surfaces are obtained and the conditions for an OT-surface to be flat or minimal are given. Moreover, the Weingarten map of an OT-ruled surface is obtained and the normal curvature, the geodesic curvature and the geodesic torsion of any curve lying on surface are obtained. Finally, some examples related to helices and slant helices are introduced.
In this paper, we establish equiform differential geometry of space and timelike curves in 4-dimensional Minkowski space. We obtain some conditions for these curves. Also, general helices with respect to their equiform curvatures are characterized.
In this study, we investigate the locus of the centers of the Meusnier spheres. Just as focal curve is the locus of the centers of the osculating spheres, we investigate the geometrical interpretation on the locus of the centers of the Meusnier spheres. We proved that if the curve is a principal line, the locus of the centers of the Meusnier spheres of the curve is an evolute curve. Then, we give the relations between this evolute curve and the focal curve. Also, we give some relations between helices, slant helices and the locus of the centers of the Meusnier spheres of the curve.
Isophote comprises a locus of the surface points whose normal vectors make a constant angle with a fixed vector. In this paper, isophote curves are studied on timelike surfaces in Minkowski 3-space E31. The axises of spacelike and timelike isophote curves are found via their Darboux frames. Subsequently, the relationship between isophotes and slant helices is shown on timelike surfaces.
The aim of this paper is to study triharmonic curves in three dimensional f-Kenmotsu manifolds. We investigate necessary and sufficient conditions for Frenet curves, and specifically for slant and Legendre curves to be triharmonic. Then we prove that triharmonic Frenet curves with constant curvature are Frenet helices in three dimensional f-Kenmotsu manifolds. Next, we give a nonexistence theorem that there is no triharmonic Legendre curve in three dimensional f-Kenmotsu manifolds.
In this article, we investigate Bertrand curves corresponding to the spherical images of the tangent, binormal, principal normal and Darboux indicatrices of a space curve in Euclidean 3-space. As a result, in case of a space curve is a general helix, we show that the curves corresponding to the spherical images of its the tangent indicatrix and binormal indicatrix are both Bertrand curves and circular helices. Similarly, in case of a space curve is a slant helix, we demonstrate that the curve corresponding to the spherical image of its the principal normal indicatrix is both a Bertrand curve a…
In this paper, we give the defination of harmonic curvature function some special curves such as helix, slant curves, Mannheim curves and Bertrand curves. Then, we recall the characterizations of helices [8], slant curves (see [19]) and Mannheim curves (see [12]) in three dimensional Lie groups using their harmonic curvature function. Moreover, we define Bertrand curves in a three dimensional Lie group G with a bi-invariant metric and the main result in this paper is given as (Theorem 3.4): A curve ?α with the Frenet apparatus {T,N,B,κ,τ} in G is a Bertrand curve if and only if λκ+μκH=1 where …
The main topic of this paper is to show that in the 3-dimensional Minkowski spacetime, the torsion of a null curve is equal to the Schwarzian derivative of a certain function appearing in a description of the curve. As applications, we obtain descriptions of the slant helices, and null curves for which the torsion is of the form $τ=-2λs$, $s$ being the pseudo-arc parameter and $λ=\mathop{\rm constant}\not=0$.
In this study, we define a family of null curves in Minkowski 3-space and called null similar curves. We obtain some properties of these special curves. We show that two null curves are null similar curves if and only if these curves form a null Bertrand pair. Moreover, we obtain that the family of null geodesics and null helices form the families of null similar curves with variable transformation.
In this study, we define the generalized normal ruled surface of a curve in the Euclidean 3-space $E^3$. We study the geometry of such surfaces by calculating the Gaussian and mean curvatures to determine when the surface is flat or minimal (equivalently, helicoid). We examine the conditions for the curves lying on this surface to be asymptotic curves, geodesics or lines of curvature. Finally, we obtain the Frenet vectors of generalized normal ruled surface and get some relations with helices and slant ruled surfaces and we give some examples for the obtained results.
In this work, we study plane and spherical curves in Euclidean and Lorentz-Minkowski 3-spaces by employing rotation minimizing (RM) frames. By conveniently writing the curvature and torsion for a curve on a sphere, we show how to find the angle between the principal normal and an RM vector field for spherical curves. Later, we characterize plane and spherical curves as curves whose position vector lies, up to a translation, on a moving plane spanned by their unit tangent and an RM vector field. Finally, as an application, we characterize Bertrand curves and slant helices as curves whose so-cal…
We derive Frenet-type results and invariants of spatial curves immersed in $3$-dimensional generalized Minkowski spaces, i.e., in linear spaces which satisfy all axioms of finite dimensional real Banach spaces except for the symmetry axiom. Further on, we characterize cylindrical helices and rectifying curves in such spaces, and the computation of invariants is discussed, too. Finally, we study how translations of unit spheres influence invariants of spatial curves.
A curve is rectifying if it lies on a moving hyperplane orthogonal to its curvature vector. In this work, we extend the main result of [Chen 2017, Tamkang J. Math. 48, 209] to any space dimension: we prove that rectifying curves are geodesics on hypercones. We later use this association to characterize rectifying curves that are also slant helices in three-dimensional space as geodesics of circular cones. In addition, we consider curves that lie on a moving hyperplane normal to (i) one of the normal vector fields of the Frenet frame and to (ii) a rotation minimizing vector field along the curv…
