In the present work we study both thermal and non-thermal leptogenesis in all neutrino mass models describing the presently available neutrino mass patterns. We consider the Majorana CP violating phases coming from right-handed Majorana mass matrices to estimate the baryon asymmetry of the universe, for different neutrino mass models namely degenerate, inverted hierarchical and normal hierarchical models, with tribimaximal mixings. Considering two possible diagonal forms of Dirac neutrino mass matrix as either charged lepton or up-quark mass matrix, the right-handed Majorana mass matrices are constructed from the light neutrino mass matrix through the inverse seesaw formula. Only the normal hierarchical model leads to the best predictions for baryon asymmetry of the universe, consistent with observations in both thermal and non-thermal leptogenesis scenario. The analysis though phenomenological may serve as an additional information in the discrimination among the presently available neutrino mass models.
We show that seesaw models based on flavor symmetries (such as A_4 and Z_7 X Z_3) which produce exact tribimaximal neutrino mixing, also imply a vanishing leptogenesis asymmetry. We show that higher order symmetry breaking corrections in these models can give a non-zero leptogenesis asymmetry and generically also give deviations from tribimaximal mixing and a non-zero theta13 >~ 10^(-2)
We investigate the viability of thermal leptogenesis in type-I seesaw models with leptonic flavour symmetries that lead to tribimaximal neutrino mixing. We consider an effective theory with an A4 x Z3 x Z4 symmetry, which is spontaneously broken at a scale much higher than the electroweak scale. At the high scale, leptonic Yukawa interactions lead to exact tribimaximal mixing and the heavy Majorana neutrino mass spectrum is exactly degenerate. In this framework, leptogenesis becomes viable once this degeneracy is lifted either by renormalization group effects or by a soft breaking of the A4 sy…
We compute and compare the baryon asymmetry of the universe in thermal leptogenesis scenario with and without flavour effects for different neutrino mass models namely degenerate, inverted hierarchical and normal hierarchical models, with tribimaximal mixings and beyond. Considering three possible diagonal forms of Dirac neutrino mass matrices $m_{LR}$, the right-handed Majorana mass matrices $M_{RR}$ are constructed from the light neutrino mass matrices $m_{LL}$ through the inverse seesaw formula. The normal hierarchical model is found to give the best predictions of the baryon asymmetry for …
It is pointed out that if a neutrino mass matrix for right-handed neutrinos in seesaw mechanism has mu -tau symmetry and total lepton number L_{e}+L_{μ}+L_τ remains constant (not zero), exact tribimaximal neutrino mixing in this sector is produced. The same follows for the effective Majorana light neutrino mass matrix provided that Yukawa couplings (multiplied by the corresponding Higgs vacuum expectation values) in Dirac mass matrix satisfy some constraints which in general implies zero leptongenesis asymmetry. However this can be avoided when two of the heavy right-hand neutrinos [the third …
We explore the possibility of generating a non-zero $U_{e3}$ element of the neutrino mixing matrix from tribimaximal neutrino mixing by adding a light sterile neutrino to the active neutrinos. Small active-sterile mixing can provide the necessary deviation from tribimaximal mixing to generate a non-zero $θ_{13}$ and atmospheric mixing $θ_{23}$ different from maximal. Assuming no CP-violation, we study the phenomenological impact of sterile neutrinos in the context of current neutrino oscillation data. The tribimaximal pattern is broken in such a manner that the second column of tribimaximal mi…
Although tribimaximal mixing (TBM) and quark-lepton complementarity (QLC) are both compatible with experimental data within one standard deviation ($ 1 σ$), the TBM and QLC assumptions are mutually exclusive by $56 σ$.
We consider the perturbatively modified tribimaximal (or bimaximal) mixing to estimate the (Dirac-type) CP phase in neutrino mixing matrix. The expressions for the CP phase are derived from the equivalence between the standard parametrization of the neutrino mixing matrix for the Majorana neutrino and modified tribimaximal or bimaximal mixing matrices with appropriate CP phases. Carrying out numerical analysis based on the current experimental results for neutrino mixing angles, we can predict the values of the CP phase for several possible cases.
Current neutrino data are consistent with the so-called tribimaximal mixing scenario, which predicts \sin^2 θ_{12}=1/3, zero U_{e3} and maximal θ_{23}. This implies a special form of the neutrino mass matrix. Introducing small breaking terms in this mass matrix generates deviations from the tribimaximal scheme and leads to testable correlations between the parameters. They depend on where the perturbation is located in the mass matrix. A special case of such perturbations are radiative corrections. Alternative deviations from tribimaximal mixing may stem from contributions of the charged lepto…
The discrete subgroup Delta(27) of SU(3) has the interesting multiplication rule 3 X 3 = bar{3} + bar{3} + bar{3}, which is used to obtain near tribimaximal neutrino mixing. Using present neutrino oscillation data as input, this model predicts that the effective mass m_{ee} measured in neutrinoless double beta decay will be 0.14 eV.
Based on a new approach (the so-called Yukawaon model) to the mass spectra and mixings, a neutrino mass matrix which is described in terms of the up-quark masses and CKM matrix parameters is proposed. The mass matrix successfully leads to a nearly tribimaximal mixing without assuming any discrete symmetry.
For the purpose of deriving the observed nearly tribimaximal neutrino mixing, a possible yukawaon model in the quark sector is investigated. Five observable quantities (2 up-quark mass ratios and 3 neutrino mixing parameters \sin^2 2θ_{atm}, \tan^2θ_{solar} and |U_{13}|) are excellently fitted by two parameters (one in the up-quark sector and another one in the right-handed Majorana neutrino sector).
We study the phenomenological implications of the presence of two texture zeros in the neutrino mass matrix assuming that the neutrino mixing matrix has its first column identical to that of the tribimaximal mixing matrix. Only two patterns of this kind are compatible with the experimental data. These textures have definite predictions for the neutrino observables that are testable in future neutrino experiments.
The newly proposed finite symmetry Sigma(81) is applied to the problem of neutrino tribimaximal mixing. The result is more satisfactory than those of previous models based on A_4 in that the use of auxiliary symmetries (or mechanisms) may be avoided. Deviations from the tribimaximal pattern are expected, but because of its basic structure, only tan^2 (theta_12) may differ significantly from 0.5 (say 0.45) with sin^2 (2 theta_23) remaining very close to one, and theta_13 very nearly zero.
We obtain a general parametrization for the neutrino Majorana mass matrix in which all possible deviations from tribimaximal mixing are given by three complex parameters, and the deviation from each tribimaximal mixing eigenvector is identified with precisely two of them. This parametrization provides a useful tool for classifying the corrections to exact tribimaximal mixing in flavor models.
We address the problem of rationalizing the pattern of fermion masses and mixings by adding a nonabelian flavor symmetry in a grand unified framework. With this purpose, we include an A4 flavor symmetry into a unified renormalizable SUSY GUT SU(5) model. With the help of the "Type II Seesaw" mechanism we are able to obtain the pattern of observed neutrino mixings in a natural way, through the so called tribimaximal matrix.
Neutrino tribimaximal mixing is obtained from the breaking of A_4 to Z_3 in the charged-lepton sector and to Z_2 in the neutrino sector. To enforce this conflicting pattern, extra particles and symmetries are usually invoked, often accompanied by nonrenormalizable interactions and even extra dimensions. It is shown here in a specific renormalizable model how A_4 alone will accomplish this, with only the help of lepton number.
In the supersymmetric seesaw model of neutrino masses, augmented by the non-Abelian discrete tetrahedral symmetry A_4, a specific pattern of neutrino mixing is automatically generated if one of the three heavy singlet neutrino superfields acquires a nonzero vacuum expectation value. This pattern turns out to be exactly that of tribimaximal mixing, i.e. sin^2 theta_23 = 1/2, sin^2 theta_12 = 1/3, and sin^2 theta_13 = 0, in good agreement with data.
A modified neutrino mass model with five extra scalars is constructed using $A_{4}$ discrete symmetry group. The resultant mass matrix is able to give necessary deviation from Tribimaximal mixing which reproduces the current neutrino masses and mixing data with good accuracy. The model gives testable prediction for the future measurements of the neutrinoless double-beta decay parameter $|m_{ββ}|$. The analysis is consistent with latest cosmological bound $Σm_{i}\leq$ 0.12 eV.
We address two fundamental aspects of flavor physics: the mass hierarchy and the large lepton mixing angles. On one side, left-right flavor symmetry realizes the democratic mass matrix patterns and explains why one family is much heavier than the others. On the other side, discrete flavor symmetry such as A4 leads to the observed tribimaximal mixing for the leptons. We show that, by explicitly breaking the left-right flavor symmetry into the diagonal A4, it is possible to explain both the observed charged fermion mass hierarchies and quark and lepton mixing angles. In particular we predict a h…
In a simplified renormalizable model where the neutrinos have PMNS (Pontecorvo-Maki-Nakagawa-Sakata) mixings tan$^{2} θ_{12} = {1/2}, θ_{13}=0, θ_{23} = π/4$ and with flavor symmetry $T^{'}$ there is a corresponding prediction where the quarks have CKM (Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa) mixings tan$2 Θ_{12} = \frac{\sqrt{2}}{3}, Θ_{13}=0, Θ_{23} =0$.
A simple relation U_{MNS}=V_{CKM}^\dagger U_{TB} between the lepton and quark mixing matrices (U_{MNS} and V_{CKM}) is speculated under an ansatz that U_{MNS} becomes an exact tribimaximal mixing U_{TB} in a limit V_{CKM}={\bf 1}. By using the observed CKM mixing parameters, possible values of neutrino oscillation parameters are estimated: \sin^2 θ_{13}=0.024-0.028, \sin^2 2θ_{23}=0.94-0.95 and \tan^2 θ_{12}=0.24-1.00 depending on phase conventions of U_{TB}. Those values are testable soon by precision measurements in neutrino oscillation experiments.
Solar and atmospheric neutrino oscillations are consistent with a tribimaximal form of the mixing matrix $U$ of the lepton sector. Exact tribimaximal mixing leads to $θ_{13}=0$. Recent results from the Daya Bay and RENO experiments have established a non-zero value of $θ_{13}$. Keeping the leading behaviour of $U$ as tribimaximal we perform a model-independent perturbative calculation to incorporate a non-vanishing $θ_{13}$. We identify the nature of the perturbation matrix and consider the possibility of the solar neutrino splitting also resulting from it. We calculate up to first order in pe…
Current experimental data on the neutrino parameters is in good agreement with tribimaximal mixing and may indicate the presence of an underlying family symmetry. For 76 flavor groups, we perform a systematic scan for models: The particle content is that of the Standard Model plus up to three flavon fields, and the effective Lagrangian contains all terms of mass dimension <=6. We find that 44 groups can accommodate models that are consistent with experiment at 3 sigma, and 38 groups can have models that are tribimaximal. For one particular group, we look at correlations between the mixing angl…
We calculate finite quantum corrections to the tribimaximal neutrino mixing pattern V_TB in three generic classes of neutrino mass models. We show that three flavor mixing angles can all depart from their tree-level results described by V_TB, among which θ_12 is most sensitive to such quantum effects, and the Dirac CP-violating phase can radiatively arise from two Majorana CP-violating phases. This theoretical scheme offers a new way to understand why θ_13 is naturally small and how three CP-violating phases are presumably correlated.
In order to accommodate nonzero and relatively large of mixing angle $θ_{13}$, we modified the tribimaximal mixing(TBM) matrix by introducing a simple perturbation matrix to perturb TBM matrix. The modified TBM can reproduce nonzero mixing angle $θ_{13}=7.9^{0}$ which is in agreement with the present experimental results. By imposing two zeros texture into the obtained neutrino mass matrix from modified TBM, we then have the neutrino mass spectrum in normal hierarchy. Some phenomenological implications are also discussed
In the context of A_4 symmetry, neutrino tribimaximal mixing is achieved through the breaking of A_4 to Z_3 (Z_2) in the charged-lepton (neutrino) sector respectively. The implied vacuum misalignment of the (1,1,1) and (1,0,0) directions in A_4 space is a difficult technical problem, and cannot be treated without many auxiliary fields and symmetries (and perhaps extra dimensions). It is pointed out here that an alternative scenario exists with A_4 alone and no redundant fields, if neutrino masses are "scotogenic", i.e. radiatively induced by dark scalar doublets as recently proposed.
In an improved application of the tetrahedral symmetry A_4 first introduced by Ma and Rajasekaran, supplemented by the discrete symmetry Z_3 as well as supersymmetry, a two-parameter form of the neutrino mass matrix is derived which exhibits the tribimaximal mixing of Harrison, Perkins, and Scott. This form is the same one obtained previously by Altarelli and Feruglio, and the inverse of that obtained by Babu and He. If only A_4 is used, then corrections appear, making tan^2(theta_{12}) differenet from 0.5, without changing significantly sin^2(2 theta_{23}) from one or theta_{13} from zero.
We propose a seesaw scenario that possible corrections to the tribimaximal pattern of lepton mixing are due to the small phase splitting of the right-handed neutrino mass matrix. we show that the small deviations can be expressed analytically in terms of two splitting parameters($δ_1$ and $δ_2$) in the leading order. The solar mixing angle $θ_{12}$ favors a relatively smaller value compared to zero order value ($35.3^\circ$), and the Dirac type CP phase $δ$ chooses a nearly maximal one. The two Majorana type CP phases $ρ$ and $σ$ turn out to be a nearly linear dependence. Also a normal hierarc…
General lowest order perturbations to hermitian squared mass matrices of leptons are considered away from the tribimaximal (TBM) limit in which a weak flavor basis with mass diagonal charged leptons is chosen. The three measurable TBM deviants are expressed linearly in terms of perturbation induced dimensionless coefficients appearing in the charged lepton and neutrino flavor eigenstates. With unnatural cancellations assumed to be absent and the charged lepton perturbation contributions to their flavor eigenstates argued to be small, we analytically derive the following result. Within lowest o…
In light of the recent neutrino experimental results from Daya Bay and RENO Collaborations, we construct a realistic tribimaximal-like Pontecorvo-Maki-Nakagawa-Sakata (PMNS) leptonic mixing matrix. Motivated by the Qin-Ma (QM) parametrization for the quark mixing matrix in which the CP-odd phase is approximately maximal, we propose a simple ansatz for the charged lepton mixing matrix, namely, it has the QM-like parametrization, and assume the tribimaximal mixing (TBM) pattern for the neutrino mixing matrix. The deviation of the leptonic mixing matrix from the TBM one is then systematically stu…
Recent work on a lepton mass matrix model based on an SU(3) flavor symmetry which is broken into S_4 is reviewed. The flavor structures of the masses and mixing are caused by VEVs of SU(2)_L-singlet scalars ϕwhich are nonets ({\bf 8}+{\bf 1}) of the SU(3) flavor symmetry, and which are broken into {\bf 2}+{\bf 3}+{\bf 3}' and {\bf 1} of S_4. If we require the invariance under the transformation (ϕ^{(8)},ϕ^{(1)}) \to (-ϕ^{(8)},+ϕ^{(1)}) for the superpotential of the nonet field ϕ^{(8+1)}, the model leads to a beautiful relation for the charged lepton masses. The observed tribimaximal neutrino m…
Brannen has recently pointed out that the observed charged lepton masses satisfy the relation m_e +m_μ+m_τ= {2/3} (\sqrt{m_e}+\sqrt{m_μ}+\sqrt{m_τ})^2, while the observed neutrino masses satisfy the relation m_{ν1} +m_{ν2} +m_{ν3} = {2/3} (-\sqrt{m_{ν1}}+\sqrt{m_{ν2}}+\sqrt{m_{ν3}})^2. It is discussed what neutrino Yukawa interaction form is favorable if we take the fact pointed out by Brannen seriously.
We present a model of neutrino mixing based on the flavour group $Δ(27)$ in order to account for the observation of a non-zero reactor mixing angle ($θ_{13}$). The model provides a common flavour structure for the charged-lepton and the neutrino sectors, giving their mass matrices a `circulant-plus-diagonal' form. Mass matrices of this form readily lead to mixing patterns with realistic deviations from tribimaximal mixing, including non-zero $θ_{13}$. With the parameters constrained by existing measurements, our model predicts an inverted neutrino mass hierarchy. We obtain two distinct sets of…
We analyze all possible extensions of the recently proposed minimal renormalizable SUSY SU(5) grand unified model with the inclusion of an additional A4 flavor symmetry. We find that there are five possible cases but only one of them is phenomenologically interesting. We develop in detail such case and we show how the fermion masses and mixing angles come out. As a prediction we obtain the neutrino masses of order of 0.1 eV with an inverted hierarchy.
Motivated by dimensional deconstruction, we propose a model of tribimaximal neutrino mixing based on A_4 x A_4 symmetry. In this model, the two triplet symmetry-breaking fields of conventional A_4 models are taken to transform under different A_4 group factors, but are not distinguished by any other quantum numbers. An additional bi-triplet flavon field breaks A_4 x A_4 to its diagonal subgroup. If the bi-triplet transforms under an additional Z_3 symmetry, we show that one can construct a general, renormalizable superpotential that yields the desired pattern of symmetry breaking. We identify …
Group theoretical arguments seem to indicate the discrete symmetry S4 as the minimal flavour symmetry compatible with tribimaximal neutrino mixing. We prove in a model independent way that indeed S4 can realize exact tribimaximal mixing through different symmetry breaking patterns. We present two models in which lepton tribimaximal mixing is realized in different ways and for each one we discuss the superpotential that leads to the correct breaking of the flavor symmetry.
In this work we analyze the corrections to tribimaximal (TBM), bimaximal (BM) and democratic (DC) mixing matrices for explaining large reactor mixing angle $θ_{13}$ and checking the consistency with other neutrino mixing angles. The corrections are parameterized in terms of small orthogonal rotations (R) with corresponding modified PMNS matrix of the form $R_{ij}\cdot U \cdot R_{kl}$ where $R_{ij}$ is rotation in ij sector and U is any one of these special matrices. We showed the rotations $R_{13}\cdot U \cdot R_{23}$, $R_{12}\cdot U \cdot R_{13}$ for BM and $R_{13}\cdot U \cdot R_{13}$ for TB…
We present a systematic group space scan of discrete Abelian flavor symmetries for lepton mass models that produce nearly tribimaximal lepton mixing. In our models, small neutrino masses are generated by the type-I seesaw mechanism. The lepton mass matrices emerge from higher-dimension operators via the Froggatt-Nielsen mechanism and are predicted as powers of a single expansion parameter εthat is of the order of the Cabibbo angle θ_C\simeq 0.2. We focus on solutions that can give close to tribimaximal lepton mixing with a very small reactor angle θ_{13}\approx 0 and find several thousand expl…
The addition of an A_4 family symmetry and extended Higgs sector to the Standard Model can generate the tribimaximal mixing pattern for leptons, assuming the correct vacuum expectation value alignment of the Higgs scalars. Deviating this alignment affects the predictions for the neutrino oscillation and neutrino mass observables. An attempt is made to classify the plethora of models in the literature, with respect to the chosen A_4 particle assignments. Of these models, two particularly popular examples have been analyzed for deviations from tribimaximal mixing by perturbing the vacuum expecta…
We study the existence of one/two texture zeros or one/two vanishing minors in the neutrino mass matrix with $μτ$ symmetry. In the basis where the charged lepton mass matrix and the Dirac neutrino mass matrix are diagonal, the one/two zeros or one/two vanishing minors in the right-handed Majorana mass matrix having $μτ$ symmetry will propagate via seesaw mechanism as one/two vanishing minors or one/two texture zeros in the neutrino mass matrix with $μτ$ symmetry respectively. It is found that only five such texture structures of the neutrino mass matrix are phenomenologically viable. For tribi…
We propose a simple framework to split neutrinos with a slight departure from tribimaximal mixing - where two of the neutrinos are Majorana type which provide thermal leptogenesis. The Dirac neutrino with a tiny Yukawa coupling explains primordial inflation and the cosmic microwave background radiation, where the inflaton is the gauge invariant flat direction. The observed baryon asymmetry, and the scale of inflation are intimately tied to the observed reactor angle, which can be further constrained by the LHC and the neutrinoless double beta decay experiments. The model also provides the ligh…
Tribimaximal leptonic mixing is a mass-independent mixing scheme consistent with the present solar and atmospheric neutrino data. By conveniently decomposing the effective neutrino mass matrix associated to it, we derive generic predictions in terms of the parameters governing the neutrino masses. We extend this phenomenological analysis to other mass-independent mixing schemes which are related to the tribimaximal form by a unitary transformation. We classify models that produce tribimaximal leptonic mixing through the group structure of their family symmetries in order to point out that ther…
We consider the $μ-τ$ symmetric Friedberg-Lee (FL) symmetry for the neutrino sector and show that a specific FL translation leads to the tribimaximal mixing pattern of the Maki-Nakagawa-Sakata (MNS) matrix. We also apply the symmetry to the type-I seesaw framework and address the baryon asymmetry of the universe through the leptogenesis mechanism. We try to establish a relation between the net baryon asymmetry and CP phases included in the MNS matrix.
We propose a model-independent analysis of the neutrino mass matrix through an expansion in terms of the eigenvectors defining the lepton mixing matrix, which we show can be parametrized as small perturbations of the tribimaximal mixing eigenvectors. This approach proves to be powerful and convenient for some aspects of lepton mixing, in particular when studying the sensitivity of the mass matrix elements to departures from their tribimaximal form. In terms of the eigenvector decomposition, the neutrino mass matrix can be understood as originating from a tribimaximal dominant structure with sm…
We survey the lepton flavor violation branching ratios Br(mu->e,gamma), Br(tau->mu,gamma), and Br(tau->e,gamma) in mSUGRA for a broad class of lepton mass matrix textures that give nearly tribimaximal lepton mixing. Small neutrino masses are generated by the type-I seesaw mechanism with non-degenerate right-handed neutrino masses. The textures exhibit a hierarchical mass pattern and can be understood from flavor models giving rise to large leptonic mixing. We study the branching ratios for the most general CP-violating forms of the textures. It is demonstrated that the branching ratios can be …
Within the type-I seesaw framework with three heavy right chiral neutrinos and in the basis where the latter and the charged leptons are mass diagonal, a near `mu-tau' symmetry in the neutrino sector is strongly suggested by the neutrino oscillation data. There is further evidence for a close to the tribimaximal mixing pattern which subsumes `mu-tau' symmetry. On the other hand, the assumption of a (maximally allowed) four zero texture in the Yukawa coupling matrix Y_nu in the same basis leads to a highly constrained and predictive theoretical scheme. We show that the requirement of an exact `…
The quark-lepton complementarity (QLC) relations indicate a deep structure that interrelates quarks and leptons. We propose new scenarios, in a seesaw framework with discrete $A_4$ flavor symmetry, which can accommodate the QLC relations and the nonzero neutrino mixing angle $θ_{13}$ together with all the available neutrino experimental data, in a consistent way to generate the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix for the quark mixing. Certain effective dimension-5 operators are introduced, which induce a deviation of the lepton mixing matrix from the tribimaximal mixing (TBM) pattern and le…
The recent results from Daya Bay and RENO reactor neutrino experiments have firmly established that the smallest reactor mixing angle $θ_{13}$ is non-vanishing at the $5 σ$ level, with a relatively large value, i.e., $θ_{13}\approx 9^{\circ}$. Using the fact that the neutrino mixing matrix can be represented as $V_{\rm PMNS}=U_l^{\dagger} U_ν P_ν$, where $U_l$ and $U_ν$ result from the diagonalization of the charged lepton and neutrino mass matrices and $P_ν$ is a diagonal matrix containing the Majorana phases and assuming the tri-bimaximal form for $U_ν$, we investigate the possibility of acc…
Four next-to-tribimaximal (NTBM) mixing patterns are widely considered as the feasible candidates for the observed leptonic mixing structure. With the recent measurements from T2K, as well as intensive global fits, the interval of $\sinδ_{ CP} > 0$ for the Dirac CP-violating phase is persistently small in the normal ordering while $\sinδ_{ CP} < 0$ is successively obtained up to $3σ$ level in the inverted ordering. In this paper, we advocate the fitting results of Dirac CP-violating phase as a constraint, and show that, it can basically rule out half of the regions allowed by the constraint fr…
The neutrino oscillation data are in very good agreement with the tribimaximal mixing pattern: \sin^2θ_{23}=1/2, \sin^2θ_{12}=1/3, and \sin^2θ_{13}=0. Attempts to generate this pattern based on finite family symmetry groups typically assume that the family symmetry is broken to different subgroups in the charged lepton and the neutrino mass matrices. This leads to a technical problem, where the cross-couplings between the Higgs fields responsible for the two symmetry breaking chains force their vacuum expectation values to align, upsetting the desired breaking pattern. Here, we present a class…
We explore the possibility of spontaneous R parity violation in the context of $A_4$ flavor symmetry. Our model contains $SU(3)_c \times SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y$ singlet matter chiral superfields which are arranged as triplet of $A_4$ and as well as few additional Higgs chiral superfields which are singlet under MSSM gauge group and belong to triplet and singlet representation under the $A_4$ flavor symmetry. R parity is broken spontaneously by the vacuum expectation values of the different sneutrino fields and hence we have neutrino-neutralino as well as neutrino-MSSM gauge singlet higgsino mix…
The impact of renormalization group equations(RGEs) on neutrino masses and mixings at high energy scales in Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model(MSSM) is studied using two different mixing patterns such as Tri-Bimaximal(TBM) mixing and Golden Ratio(GR) mixing in consistent with cosmological bound of the sum of three neutrino masses, $\sum _{i}|m_{i}|$. Magnifications of neutrino masses and mixing angles at low energy scale, are obtained by giving proper input masses, and mixing angles from TBM mixing matrix and GR mixing matrix at high energy scales. High energy scales, $M_{R}$ such as $10^{1…
Present data on neutrino masses and mixing favor the highly symmetric tribimaximal neutrino mixing matrix which suggests an underlying flavor symmetry. A systematic study of non-abelian finite groups of order $g \leq 31$ reveals that tribimaximal mixing can be derived not only from the well known flavor symmetry $T \equiv A_4$, the tetrahedral group, but also by using the alternative flavor symmetry X(24) $\equiv SL_2(F_3) \equiv Q_4 \tilde{\times} Z_3$. X(24) does not contain the tetrahedral group as a subgroup, and has the advantage over it as a flavor symmetry that it can not only underwrit…
We scrutinize corrections to tribimaximal (TBM), bimaximal (BM) and democratic (DC) mixing matrices for explaining recent global fit neutrino mixing data. These corrections are parameterized in terms of small orthogonal rotations (R) with corresponding modified PMNS matrices of the forms \big($R_{ij}^l\cdot U,~U\cdot R_{ij}^r,~U \cdot R_{ij}^r \cdot R_{kl}^r,~R_{ij}^l \cdot R_{kl}^l \cdot U$\big ) where $R_{ij}^{l, r}$ is rotation in ij sector and U is any one of these special matrices. We showed that for perturbative schemes dictated by single rotation, only \big($ R_{12}^l\cdot U_{BM},~R_{13…
We extend the recently proposed $SU(5) \times \mathcal{T}_{13}$ model for the asymmetric texture to the up-type quark and seesaw sectors. The hierarchical up-type quark masses are generated from higher-dimensional operators involving family-singlet Higgses, gauge-singlet familons, and vectorlike messengers. The complex-tribimaximal (TBM) seesaw mixing arises from the vacuum structure of a minimal number of familons, resulting in an alignment between the Yukawa and Majorana matrices of the seesaw formula. Introducing four right-handed neutrinos, normal ordering of the light neutrino masses is o…
We study renormalization group running effects on neutrino mixing patterns when a (type I) seesaw model is implemented by suitable flavour symmetries. We are particularly interested in mass-independent mixing patterns to which the widely studied tribimaximal mixing pattern belongs. In this class of flavour models, the running contribution from neutrino Yukawa coupling, which is generally dominant at energies above the seesaw threshold, can be absorbed by a small shift on neutrino mass eigenvalues leaving mixing angles unchanged. Consequently, in the whole running energy range, the change in mi…
