For a time-dependent classical quadratic oscillator we introduce pairs of real and complex invariants that are linear in position and momentum. Each pair of invariants realize explicitly a canonical transformation from the phase space to the invariant space, in which the action-phase variables are defined. We find the action operator for the time-dependent oscillator via the classical-quantum correspondence. Candidate phase operators conjugate to the action operator are discussed, but no satisfactory ones are found.
The harmonic oscillator with a time-dependent frequency has a family of linear quantum invariants for the time-dependent Schrödinger equation, which are determined by any two independent solutions to the classical equation of motion. Ermakov and Pinney have shown that a general solution to the time-dependent oscillator with an inverse cubic term can be expressed in terms of two independent solutions to the time-dependent oscillator. We explore the connection between linear quantum invariants and the Ermakov-Pinney solution for the time-dependent harmonic oscillator. We advance a novel method t…
We show that, by using the quantum orthogonal functions invariant, we are able to solve a coupled of time dependent harmonic oscillators where all the time dependent frequencies are arbitrary. We do so, by transforming the time dependent Hamiltonian of the interaction by a set of unitary operators. In passing, we show that $N$ time dependent and coupled oscillators have a generalized orthogonal functions invariant from which we can write a Ermakov-Lewis invariant.
Unitary relation between a harmonic oscillator of time-dependent frequency and a simple harmonic oscillator with and without an inverse-square potential
We use the Fourier operator to transform a time dependent mass quantum harmonic oscillator into a frequency dependent one. Then we use Lewis-Ermakov invariants to solve the Schrödinger equation by using squeeze operators. Finally we give two examples of time dependencies: quadratically and hyperbolically growing masses.
Exact solutions of the time-dependent Schrodinger equation for a quantum oscillator subject to periodical frequency delta-kicks are obtained. We show that the oscillator occurs in the squeezed state and calculate the corresponding squeezing coefficients and the energy increase rate in terms of Chebyshev polynomials.
Macedo and Guedes showed recently how to solve a system of coupled harmonic oscillators with time dependent parameters [{ J. Math. Phys.} {\bf 53}, 052101 (2012)]. We show here that the way in which they get rid of the time dependent masses is incorrect and some terms lack in the transformed Hamiltonian. We also show a correct way of eliminating from the Hamiltonian the time dependent masses.
New families of time-dependent potentials related to the parametric oscillator are introduced. This is achieved by introducing some general time-dependent operators that factorize the appropriate constant of motion (quantum invariant) of the parametric oscillator, leading to new families of quantum invariants that are almost-isospectral to the initial one. Then, the respective time-dependent Hamiltonians are constructed, and the solutions of the Schrödinger equation are determined from the intertwining relationships and by finding the appropriate time-dependent complex-phases of the Lewis-Ries…
The dynamics of mixedness and entanglement is examined by solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for three coupled harmonic oscillator system with arbitrary time-dependent frequency and coupling constants parameters. We assume that part of oscillators is inaccessible and remaining oscillators accessible. We compute the dynamics of entanglement between inaccessible and accessible oscillators. In order to show the dynamics pictorially we introduce three quenched models. In the quenched models both mixedness and entanglement exhibit oscillatory behavior in time with multi-frequencies. It…
The solution of the Feinberg-Horodecki (FH) equation for a time-dependent mass (TDM) harmonic oscillator quantum system is studied. A certain interaction is applied to a mass to provide a particular spectrum of stationary energies. The related spectrum of the harmonic oscillator potential acting on the TDM oscillators is found. We apply the time version of the asymptotic iteration method (AIM) to calculate analytical expressions of the TDM stationary state energies and their wave functions. It is shown that the obtained solutions reduce to those of simple harmonic oscillator as the time-depend…
The relativistic quantum dynamics of the generalized Klein-Gordon (KG) oscillator having position-dependent mass in the Gödel-type space-time is investigated. We have presented the generalized KG oscillator in this space-time, and discussed the effect of Cornell potential and linear potential for our considered system. The modification from the parameters of position-dependent mass and characterizing the space-time for the energy spectrums are presented.
In this note we address the exact solutions of a time-dependent Hamiltonian composed by an oscillator-like interaction with both a frequency and a mass term that depend on time. The latter is achieved by constructing the appropriate point transformation such that it deforms the Schrödinger equation of a stationary oscillator into the one of the time-dependent model. Thus, the solutions of the latter can be seen as deformations of the well known solutions of the stationary oscillator, and thus an orthogonal set of solutions can be determined in a straightforward way. The latter is possible sinc…
Using ladder operators for the non-linear oscillator with position-dependent effective mass, realization of the dynamic group SU(1,1) is presented. Keeping in view the algebraic structure of the non-linear oscillator, coherent states are constructed using Barut-Girardello formalism and their basic properties are discussed. Furthermore, the statistical properties of these states are investigated by means of Mandel parameter and second order correlation function. Moreover, it is shown that in the harmonic limit, all the results obtained for the non-linear oscillator with spatially varying mass r…
We develop generalized coherent states for a class of nonlinear oscillators with position-dependent effective mass in the context of the Gazeau-Klauder formalism and discuss some of their properties. In order to investigate the temporal evolution we first explore the statistical properties by means of weighting distribution and the Mandel parameter. It is found that the temporal evolution of the coherent states may exhibit the phenomena of quantum revivals and fractional revivals for a particular choice of position-dependent mass oscillator.
We provide a time-dependent Dyson map and metric for the two dimensional harmonic oscillator with a non-Hermitian $i xy$ coupling term. This particular time-independent model exhibits spontaneously broken $\mathcal{PT}$-symmetry and becomes unphysical in the broken regime, with the spectrum becoming partially complex. By introducing an explicit time-dependence into the Dyson map, we provide a time-dependent metric that renders the model consistent across the unbroken and broken regimes.
An exact invariant operator of time-dependent coupled oscillators is derived using the Liouville-von Neumann equation. The unitary relation between this invariant and the invariant of two uncoupled simple harmonic oscillators is represented. If we consider the fact that quantum solutions of the simple harmonic oscillator is well-known, this unitary relation is very useful in clarifying quantum characteristics of the original systems, such as entanglement, probability densities, fluctuations of the canonical variables, and decoherence. We can identify such quantum characteristics by inversely t…
Uncertainties $(Δx)^2$ and $(Δp)^2$ are analytically derived in an $N$-coupled harmonic oscillator system when spring and coupling constants are arbitrarily time-dependent and each oscillator is in an arbitrary excited state. When $N = 2$, those uncertainties are shown as just arithmetic average of uncertainties of two single harmonic oscillators. We call this property as "sum rule of quantum uncertainty". However, this arithmetic average property is not generally maintained when $N \geq 3$, but it is recovered in $N$-coupled oscillator systems if and only if $(N-1)$ quantum numbers are equal.…
Using the Ermakov-Lewis invariants appearing in KvN mechanics, the time-dependent frequency harmonic oscillator is studied. The analysis builds upon the operational dynamical model, from which it is possible to infer quantum or classical dynamics; thus, the mathematical structure governing the evolution will be the same in both cases. The Liouville operator associated with the time-dependent frequency harmonic oscillator can be transformed using an Ermakov-Lewis invariant, which is also time dependent and commutes with itself at any time. Finally, because the solution of the Ermakov equation i…
Position-dependent mass harmonic oscillator: classical-quantum mechanical correspondence and ordering-ambiguity
我们回收克鲁兹等人。的(Phys. Lett.
The stationary Schroedinger equation of the harmonic oscillator is deformed by a Darboux transformation to construct time-dependent potentials with the oscillator profile. The Darboux (supersymmetric or factorization) method is usually developed in the spatial variables of the Schroedinger equation. Here we follow a variation introduced by Bagrov, Samsonov and Shekoyan to include the time-variable as a parameter of the transformation.
In this paper, we studied, at first, the influence of the energy-dependent potentials on the one-dimensionless Klein-Gordon oscillator. Then, the Shannon entropy and Fisher information of this system are investigated. The position and momentum information entropies for the low-lying states n=0,1,2 are calculated. Some interesting features of both Fisher and Shannon densities as well as the probability densities are demonstrated.
We apply a Gaussian state formalism to track fluctuating perturbations that act on the position and momentum quadrature variables of a harmonic oscillator. Following a seminal proposal by Tsang and Caves [Phys. Rev. Lett. 105, 123601 (2010)], Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen correlations with the quadrature variables of an ancillary harmonic oscillator are leveraged to significantly improve the estimates as relevant sensor variables can be arbitrarily squeezed while evading adverse effects from the conjugate, anti-squeezed variables. Our real-time analysis of the continuous monitoring of the system emp…
Continuous observation on an oscillator is known to result in quantum back-action which limits the knowledge acquired by the measurement. A careful balance between the information obtained and the back-action disturbance leads to a limit known as the standard quantum limit. The means to surpass this limit by modulating the measurement strength with the period proportional to half period of the oscillation has been proposed decades ago (Braginskii et al 1978 JETP Lett. 27 276; Thorne et al 1978 Phys. Rev. Lett. 40 667; Braginskii et al 1980 Science 209 547). Such modulated or stroboscopic obser…
Quantum noise with exchange and tunneling is studied within time-dependent wave packets. A novel expression for the quantum noise of two identical particles injected simultaneously from opposite sides of a tunneling barrier is presented. Such quantum noise expression provides a physical (non-spurious) explanation for the experimental detection of two electrons at the same side under static potentials. Numerical simulations of the two-particle scattering probabilities in a double barrier potential with an oscillatory well are performed. The dependence of the quantum noise on the electron energy…
Two-dimensional systems with time-dependent controls admit a quadratic Hamiltonian modelling near potential minima. Independent, dynamical normal modes facilitate inverse Hamiltonian engineering to control the system dynamics, but some systems are not separable into independent modes by a point transformation. For these "coupled systems" 2D invariants may still guide the Hamiltonian design. The theory to perform the inversion and two application examples are provided: (i) We control the deflection of wave packets in transversally harmonic waveguides; and (ii) we design the state transfer from …
In a recent paper, Hassoul et al.[1], the authors proposed an analysis of the quantum dynamics for general time-dependent three coupled oscillators through an approach based on their decouplement using the unitary transformation method. Thus, to diagonalize the transformed Hamiltonian, they introduce a new unitary operator corresponding to a three-dimensional rotation parameterized by Euler angles. Through this procedure, Hassoul et al. [1] claim that the coupled oscillatory subsystems are completely decoupled. This last approach is partly wrong. In this brief note, we show that their method i…
In this article, we try to test the influence of the modification of the scalar product, found in the problems of the energy-dependent potential, on the physical properties of the harmonic oscillator in one dimension. For this, we at first discuss the effect of this change on the thermodynamic properties of this oscillator, and then on the parameter of Fisher, well known in the field of quantum information. For the second problem, we are an obligation to redefine this parameter. Finally, the uncertainly relation of Cramer-Rao is well recovered in our problem in question.
We study the classical and quantum oscillator in the context of a non-additive (deformed) displacement operator, associated with a position-dependent effective mass, by means of the supersymmetric formalism. From the supersymmetric partner Hamiltonians and the shape invariance technique we obtain the eigenstates and the eigenvalues along with the ladders operators, thus showing a preservation of the supersymmetric structure in terms of the deformed counterpartners. The deformed space in supersymmetry allows to characterize position-dependent effective mass, uniform field interactions and to ob…
A general dynamical invariant operator for three coupled time-dependent oscillators is derived. Although the obtained invariant operator satisfies the Liouville-von Neumann equation, its mathematical formula is somewhat complicated due to arbitrariness of time variations of parameters. The parametric conditions required for formulating this invariant are definitely specified. By using the unitary transformation method, the invariant operator is transformed to the one that corresponds to three independent simple harmonic oscillators. Inverse transformation of the well-known quantum solutions as…
