This article is devoted to the stochastic anticipating equations with the extended stochastic integral with respect to the Gaussian processes of a special type. In the particular cases the solutions of such an equations are the well-known Wiener functionals after the second quantization. As an application the stochastic Kolmogorov equation for the conditional distributions of the diffusion process is obtained. Also we will consider the conditional variant of the Feynman--Kac formula. The two last sections of the article are devoted to the smoothing problem in the case when noise is represented by the two jointly Gaussian Wiener processes, which can have not a semimartingale property with respect to the joint filtration.
We introduce and study a new type of integral equations called anticipating backward stochastic Volterra integral equations (anticipating BSVIEs). In these equations the generator involves not only the present values but also the future values of the solutions. We obtain the existence and uniqueness theorem and a comparison theorem for the solutions to these anticipating BSVIEs.
In this paper, we consider a stochastic model of incompressible second grade fluids on a bounded domain of R^2 driven by linear multiplicative Brownian noise with anticipating initial conditions. The existence and uniqueness of the solutions are established.
In this paper, we establish the existence of the solutions $ (X, L)$ of reflected stochastic differential equations with possible anticipating initial random variables. The key is to obtain some substitution formula for Stratonovich integrals via a uniform convergence of the corresponding Riemann sums.
In this paper we study the existence of a unique solution for linear stochastic differential equations driven by a Lévy process, where the initial condition and the coefficients are random and not necessarily adapted to the underlying filtration. Towards this end, we extend the method based on Girsanov transformation on Wiener space and developped by Buckdahn to the canonical Lévy space.
We consider anticipative Stratonovich stochastic differential equations driven by some stochastic process (not necessarily a semi-martingale). No adaptedness of initial point or vector fields is assumed. Under a simple condition on the stochastic process, we show that the unique solution of the above SDE understood in the rough path sense is actually a Stratonovich solution. This condition is satisfied by the Brownian motion and the fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter greater than 1/4. As application, we obtain rather flexible results such as support theorems, large deviation princ…
This article is devoted to the stochastic anticipating equations with the extended stochastic integral with respect to the Gaussian processes of a special type and its application to the smoothing problem in the case when noise is represented by the two jointly Gaussian Wiener processes, which can have not a semimartingale property with respect to the joint filtration.
We prove a functional law of iterated logarithm for the following kind of anticipating stochastic differential equations $$ξ^u_t=X_0^u+\frac{1}{\sqrt{\log\log u}}\sum_{j=1}^k \int_0^{t} A_j^u(ξ^u_s)\circ dW_{s}^j+ \int_0^{t} A_0^u(ξ^u_s)ds,$$ where $u>e$, $W=\{(W_t^1,...,W_t^k), 0\le t\le 1\}$ is a standard $k$-dimensional Wiener process, $A_0^u,A_1^u,..., A_k^u:\mathbb{R}^d\longrightarrow \mathbb{R}^d$ are functions of class $\mathcal{C}^2$ with bounded partial derivatives up to order 2, $X_0^u$ is a random vector not necessarily adapted and the first integral is a generalized Stratonovich in…
We consider anticipative Stratonovich stochastic differential equations driven by some stochastic process lifted to a rough path. Neither adaptedness of initial point and vector fields nor commuting conditions between vector field is assumed. Under a simple condition on the stochastic process, we show that the unique solution of the above SDE understood in the rough path sense is actually a Stratonovich solution. We then show that this condition is satisfied by the Brownian motion. As application, we obtain rather flexible results such as support theorems, large deviation principles and Wong--…
We consider a simplified version of the problem of insider trading in a financial market. We approach it by means of anticipating stochastic calculus and compare the use of the Hitsuda-Skorokhod, the Ayed-Kuo, and the Russo-Vallois forward integrals within this context. Our results give some indication that, while the forward integral yields results with a suitable financial meaning, the Hitsuda-Skorokhod and the Ayed-Kuo integrals do not provide an appropriate formulation of this problem. Further results regarding the use of the Ayed-Kuo integral in this context are also provided, including t…
In this paper, we study the distribution function of the time of explosion of a stochastic differential equation modeling the length of the dominant crack due to fatigue. The main novelty is that initial condition is regarded as an anticipating random variable and the stochastic integral is in the forward sense. Under suitable conditions, we use the substitution formula from Russo and Vallois to find the local solution of this equation. Then, we find the law of blow up time by proving some results on barrier crossing probabilities of Brownian bridge.
In this article, we consider the two-dimensional stochastic Navier-Stokes equation (SNSE) on a smooth bounded domain, driven by affine-linear multiplicative white noise and with random initial conditions and Dirichlet boundary conditions. The random initial condition is allowed to anticipate the forcing noise. Our main objective is to prove the existence of a solution to the SNSE under sufficient Malliavin regularity of the initial condition. To this end we employ anticipating calculus techniques.
In this paper, the strong solutions $ (X, L)$ of multidimensional stochastic differential equations with reflecting boundary and possible anticipating initial random variables is established. The key is to obtain some substitution formula for Stratonovich integrals via a uniform convergence of the corresponding Riemann sums and to prove continuity of functionals of $ (X, L)$.
For a backward stochastic differential equation (BSDE, for short), when the generator is not progressively measurable, it might not admit adapted solutions, shown by an example. However, for backward stochastic Volterra integral equations (BSVIEs, for short), the generators are allowed to be anticipating. This gives, among other things, an essential difference between BSDEs and BSVIEs. Under some proper conditions, the well-posedness of such kinds of BSVIEs is established. Further, the results are extended to path-dependent BSVIEs, in which the generators can depend on the future paths of unkn…
In this paper, we study the existence of random periodic solutions for semilinear stochastic differential equations. We identify them as solutions of coupled forward-backward infinite horizon stochastic integral equations (IHSIEs), using the "substitution theorem" of stochastic differential equations with anticipating initial conditions. In general, random periodic solutions and the solutions of IHSIEs, are anticipating. For the linear noise case, with the help of the exponential dichotomy given in the multiplicative ergodic theorem, we can identify them as the solutions of infinite horizon ra…
In this paper, we study the existence of random periodic solutions for semilinear stochastic partial differential equations with multiplicative linear noise on a bounded open domain ${\cal O}\subset {\mathbb R}^d$ with smooth boundary. We identify them with the solutions of coupled forward-backward infinite horizon stochastic integral equations in $L^2({\cal O})$. We then use generalized Schauder's fixed point theorem, the relative compactness of Wiener-Sobolev spaces in $C^0([0, T], L^2(Ω\times{\cal O}))$ and a localization argument to prove the existence of solutions of the infinite horizon …
The primary goal of this paper is to prove a near-martingale optional stopping theorem and establish solvability and large deviations for a class of anticipating linear stochastic differential equations. We prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions using two approaches: (1) Ayed-Kuo differential formula using an ansatz, and (2) a novel braiding technique by interpreting the integral in the Skorokhod sense. We establish a Freidlin-Wentzell type large deviations result for solution of such equations.
Let $\tilde{N}\_{t}$ be a standard compensated Poisson process on $[0,1]$. We prove a new characterization of anticipating integrals of the Skorohod type with respect to $\tilde{N}$, and use it to obtain several counterparts to well established properties of semimartingale stochastic integrals. In particular we show that, if the integrand is sufficiently regular, anticipating Skorohod integral processes with respect to $\tilde{N}$ admit a pointwise representation as usual Itô integrals in an independently enlarged filtration. We apply such a result to: (i) characterize Skorohod integral proces…
We consider the non-adapted version of a simple problem of portfolio optimization in a financial market that results from the presence of insider information. We analyze it via anticipating stochastic calculus and compare the results obtained by means of the Russo-Vallois forward, the Ayed-Kuo, and the Hitsuda-Skorokhod integrals. We compute the optimal portfolio for each of these cases with the aim of establishing a comparison between these integrals in order to clarify their potential use in this type of problem. Our results give a partial indication that, while the forward integral yields a…
Following the ideas of F. Russo and P. Vallois we use the notion of forward integral to introduce a new stochastic integral respect to the cylindrical Winer process. This integral is an extension of the classical integral. As an application, we prove existence of solution of a parabolic stochastic differential partial equation with anticipating stochastic initial date.
We consider analytically weak solutions to semilinear stochastic partial differential equations with non-anticipating coefficients driven by cylindrical Brownian motion. The solutions are allowed to take values in general separable Banach spaces. We show that weak uniqueness is equivalent to weak joint uniqueness, and thereby generalize a theorem by A.S. Cherny to an infinite dimensional setting. Our proof for the technical key step is different from Cherny's and uses cylindrical martingale problems. As an application, we deduce a dual version of the Yamada-Watanabe theorem, i.e. we show that …
These notes survey some aspects of discrete-time chaotic calculus and its applications, based on the chaos representation property for i.i.d. sequences of random variables. The topics covered include the Clark formula and predictable representation, anticipating calculus, covariance identities and functional inequalities (such as deviation and logarithmic Sobolev inequalities), and an application to option hedging in discrete time.
We formulate and prove a {\it Local Stable Manifold Theorem\/} for stochastic differential equations (sde's) that are driven by spatial Kunita-type semimartingales with stationary ergodic increments. Both Stratonovich and Itô-type equations are treated. Starting with the existence of a stochastic flow for a sde, we introduce the notion of a hyperbolic stationary trajectory. We prove the existence of invariant random stable and unstable manifolds in the neighborhood of the hyperbolic stationary solution. For Stratonovich sde's, the stable and unstable manifolds are dynamically characterized usi…
A new method is described for constructing a generalized solution for stochastic differential equations. The method is based on the Cameron-Martin version of the Wiener Chaos expansion and provides a unified framework for the study of ordinary and partial differential equations driven by finite- or infinite-dimensional noise with either adapted or anticipating input. Existence, uniqueness, regularity, and probabilistic representation of this Wiener Chaos solution is established for a large class of equations. A number of examples are presented to illustrate the general constructions. A detaile…
Motivated by a problem of optimal harvesting of natural resources, we study a control problem for Volterra type dynamics driven by time-changed Lévy noises, which are in general not Markovian. To exploit the nature of the noise, we make use of different kind of information flows within a maximum principle approach. For this we work with backward stochastic differential equations (BSDE) with time-change and exploit the non-anticipating stochastic derivative introduced in [15]. We prove both a sufficient and necessary stochastic maximum principle.
We study a stochastic differential game between two players, controlling a forward stochastic Volterra integral equation (FSVIE). Each player has to optimize his own performance functional which includes a backward stochastic differential equation (BSDE). The dynamics considered are driven by time-changed Lévy noises, with absolutely continuous time-change process. We prove a sufficient maximum principle to characterize Nash equilibria and the related optimal strategies. For this we use techniques of control under partial information, and the non-anticipating stochastic derivative. The zero-su…
We study a class of controlled rough differential equations. It is shown that the value function satisfies a HJB type equation; we also establish a form of the Pontryagin maximum principle. Deterministic problems of this type arise in the duality theory for controlled diffusion processes and typically involve anticipating stochastic analysis. We propose a formulation based on rough paths and then obtain a generalization of Roger's duality formula [L. C. G. Rogers, 2007] from discrete to continuous time. We also make the link to old work of [Davis--Burstein, 1987].
We develop a non-anticipating calculus of variations for functionals on a space of laws of continuous semi-martingales, which extends the classical one. We extend Hamilton's least action principle and Noether's theorem to this generalized stochastic framework. As an application we obtain, under mild conditions, a stochastic Euler-Lagrange condition and invariants for the critical points of recent problems in stochastic control, namely for the semi-martingale optimal transportation problems.
In this paper we use the chaos decomposition approach to establish the existence of a unique continuous solution to linear fractional differential equations of the Skorohod type. Here the coefficients are deterministic, the inital condition is anticipating and the underlying fractional Brownian motion has Hurst parameter less than 1/2. We provide an explicit expression for the chaos decomposition of the solution in order to show our results.
We study existence and uniqueness of solutions for second order ordinary stochastic differential equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions on a given interval. In the first part of the paper we provide sufficient conditions to ensure pathwise uniqueness, extending some known results. In the second part we show sufficient conditions to have the weaker concept of uniqueness in law and provide a significant example. Such conditions involve a linearized equation and are of different type with respect to the ones which are usually imposed to study pathwise uniqueness. This seems to be the first …
We consider the generic divergence form second order parabolic equation with coefficients that are regular in the spatial variables and just measurable in time. We show that the spatial derivatives of its fundamental solution admit upper bounds that agree with the Aronson type estimate and only depend on the ellipticity constants of the equation and the L $\infty$ norm of the spatial derivatives of its coefficients. We also study the corresponding stochastic partial differential equations and prove that under natural assumptions on the noise the equation admits a mild solution, given by antici…
This paper is an attempt to extend the notion of viscosity solution to nonlinear stochastic partial differential integral equations with nonlinear Neumann boundary condition. Using the recently developed theory on generalized backward doubly stochastic differential equations driven by a Lévy process, we prove the existence of the stochastic viscosity solution, and further extend the nonlinear Feynman-Kac formula.
In this paper, we prove a particle approximation, in the sense of the propagation of chaos, of a Lagrangian stochastic model submitted to specular boundary condition and satisfying the mean no-permeability condition.
In this paper we investigate the optimal control problem for a class of stochastic Cauchy evolution problem with non standard boundary dynamic and control. The model is composed by an infinite dimensional dynamical system coupled with a finite dimensional dynamics, which describes the boundary conditions of the internal system. In other terms, we are concerned with non standard boundary conditions, as the value at the boundary is governed by a different stochastic differential equation.
We consider linear n-th order stochastic differential equations on [0,1], with linear boundary conditions supported by a finite subset of [0,1]. We study some features of the solution to these problems, and especially its conditional independence properties of Markovian type.
In this paper, we introduce the idea of stochastic integrals with respect to an increasing process in the $G$-framework and extend $G$-Itô's formula. Moreover, we study the solvability of the scalar valued stochastic differential equations driven by $G$-Brownian motion with reflecting boundary conditions (RGSDEs).
We consider a reaction-diffusion equation on a network subjected to dynamic boundary conditions, with time delayed behaviour, also allowing for multiplicative Gaussian noise perturbations. Exploiting semigroup theory, we rewrite the aforementioned stochastic problem as an abstract stochastic partial differential equation taking values in a suitable product Hilbert space, for which we prove the existence and uniqueness of a mild solution. Eventually, a stochastic optimal control application is studied.
The flow of nematic liquid crystals can be described by a highly nonlinear stochastic hydrodynamical model, thus is often influenced by random fluctuations, such as uncertainty in specifying initial conditions and boundary conditions. In this article, we consider the $2$-D stochastic nematic liquid crystals with the velocity field perturbed by affine-linear multiplicative white noise, with random initial data and random boundary conditions. Our main objective is to establish the global well-posedness of the stochastic equations under certain sufficient Malliavin regularity of the initial condi…
Fang-Wu\cite{FW17} presented a explicit spectral gap for the O-U process on path space over a Riemannian manifold without boundary under the bounded Ricci curvature conditions. In this paper, we will extend these results to the case of the Riemannian manifold with boundary. Moreover, we also derive the similar results for the stochastic heat process.
We consider one-dimensional stochastic differential equations with a boundary condition, driven by a Poisson process. We study existence and uniqueness of solutions and the absolute continuity of the law of the solution. In the case when the coefficients are linear, we give an explicit form of the solution and study the reciprocal process property.
Motivated by applications in economics and finance, in particular to the modeling of limit order books, we study a class of stochastic second-order PDEs with non-linear Stefan-type boundary interaction. To solve the equation we transform the problem from a moving boundary problem into a stochastic evolution equation with fixed boundary conditions. Using results from interpolation theory we obtain existence and uniqueness of local strong solutions, extending results of Kim, Zheng and Sowers. In addition, we formulate conditions for existence of global solutions and provide a refined analysis of…
We consider a Markov process on a Riemannian manifold, which solves a stochastic differential equation in the interior of the manifold and jumps according to a deterministic reset map when it reaches the boundary. We derive a partial differential equation for the probability density function, involving a non-local boundary condition which accounts for the jumping behaviour of the process. This is a generalisation of the usual Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov equation for diffusion processes. The result is illustrated with an example in the field of stochastic hybrid systems.
In this article, we study a weighted particle representation for a class of stochastic partial differential equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions. The locations and weights of the particles satisfy an infinite system of stochastic differential equations (SDEs). The evolution of the particles is modeled by an infinite system of stochastic differential equations with reflecting boundary condition and driven by independent finite dimensional Brownian motions. The weights of the particles evolve according to an infinite system of stochastic differential equations driven by a common cylindri…

We study existence and regularity of the density for the solution $u(t,x)$ (with fixed $t > 0$ and $x \in D$) of the heat equation in a bounded domain $D \subset \mathbb R^d$ driven by a stochastic inhomogeneous Neumann boundary condition with stochastic term. The stochastic perturbation is given by a fractional Brownian motion process. Under suitable regularity assumptions on the coefficients, by means of tools from the Malliavin calculus, we prove that the law of the solution has a smooth density with respect to the Lebesgue measure in $\mathbb R$.
The existence of global martingale weak solution for the 2D and 3D stochastic Cahn-Hilliard-Navier-Stokes equations driven by multiplicative noise in a smooth bounded domain is established. In particular, the system is supplied with the dynamic boundary condition which accounts for the interaction between the fluid components and the rigid walls. The proof is completed by a three-level approximate scheme combining a fixed point argument and the stochastic compactness argument, overcoming challenges from strong nonlinearity, dynamic boundary and random effect. Then, we prove the existence of an…
We consider a class of stochastic reaction-diffusion equations also having a stochastic perturbation on the boundary and we show that when the diffusion rate is much larger than the rate of reaction, it is possible to replace the SPDE by a suitable one-dimensional stochastic differential equation. This replacement is possible under the assumption of spectral gap for the diffusion and is a result of averaging in the fast spatial transport. We also study the fluctuations around the averaged motion.
This paper is intended to give a probabilistic representation for stochastic viscosity solution of semi-linear reflected stochastic partial differential equations with nonlinear Neumann boundary condition. We use it connection with reflected generalized backward doubly stochastic differential equation.
We prove the existence and uniqueness of solution of the obstacle problem for quasilinear stochastic partial differential equations (OSPDEs for short) with Neumann boundary condition. Our method is based on the analytical technics coming from parabolic potential theory. The solution is expressed as a pair $(u,ν)$ where $u$ is a predictable continuous process which takes values in a proper Sobolev space and $ν$ is a random regular measure satisfying minimal Skohorod condition.
The eigenvalue problem of stochastic Hamiltonian systems with boundary conditions was studied by Peng \cite{peng} in 2000. For one-dimensional case, denoting by $\{λ_n\}_{n=1}^{\infty}$ all the eigenvalues of such an eigenvalue problem, Peng proved that $λ_n\to +\infty$. In this short note, we prove that the growth order of $λ_n$ is the same as $n^2$ as $n\to +\infty$. Apart from the interesting of its own, by this result, the statistic period of solutions of FBSDEs can be estimated directly by corresponding coefficients and time duration.
In this paper, we prove the well-posedness of a conditional McKean Lagrangian stochastic model endowing the specular boundary condition and the mean no--permeability condition in smooth bounded confinement domain D. This result extend our previous work, where we dealt with the case where the confinement domain is the upper--half plane and where the specular boundary condition is introduced in generic Langevin process owing to some well known results on the law of the passage times at zero of the Brownian primitive. The extension to more general confinement domain exhibit more difficulties that…
This paper is intended to give a representation for stochastic viscosity solution of semi-linear reflected stochastic partial differential equations with nonlinear Neumann boundary condition. We use its connection with reflected generalized backward doubly stochastic differential equations.
The Initial-Boundary Value Problem for the heat equation is solved by using a new algorithm based on a random walk on heat balls. Even if it represents a sophisticated generalization of the Walk on Spheres (WOS) algorithm introduced to solve the Dirich-let problem for Laplace's equation, its implementation is rather easy. The definition of the random walk is based on a new mean value formula for the heat equation. The convergence results and numerical examples permit to emphasize the efficiency and accuracy of the algorithm.
