Recently B. Hartwig and the second author found a presentation for the three-point $sl_2$ loop algebra via generators and relations. To obtain this presentation they defined an algebra $\boxtimes$ by generators and relations, and displayed an isomorphism from $\boxtimes$ to the three-point $sl_2$ loop algebra. We introduce a quantum analog of $\boxtimes$ which we call $\boxtimes_q$. We define $\boxtimes_q$ via generators and relations. We show how $\boxtimes_q$ is related to the quantum group $U_q(sl_2)$, the $U_q(sl_2)$ loop algebra, and the positive part of $U_q(\hat{sl_2})$. We describe the finite dimensional irreducible $\boxtimes_q$-modules under the assumption that $q$ is not a root of 1, and the underlying field is algebraically closed.
From the q-oscillator solution to the tetrahedron equation associated with a quantized coordinate ring, we construct solutions to the Yang-Baxter equation by applying a reduction procedure formulated earlier by S. Sergeev and the first author. The results are identified with the quantum R matrices for the infinite dimensional modules of U_q(A^{(1)}_1) and U_q(A^{(2)}_2) corresponding to an affinization of Verma modules of their subalgebras isomorphic to U_q(sl_2) and U_{q^4}(sl_2).
We study the copointed Hopf algebras attached to the Nichols algebra of the affine rack $\Aff(\F_4,ω)$, also known as tetrahedron rack, and the 2-cocycle -1. We investigate the so-called Verma modules and classify all the simple modules. We conclude that these algebras are of wild representation type and not quasitriangular, also we analyze when these are spherical.
Let $\mathbb F$ denote an algebraically closed field, and fix a nonzero $q \in \mathbb F$ that is not a root of unity. We consider the $q$-tetrahedron algebra $\boxtimes_q$ over $\mathbb F$. It is known that each finite-dimensional irreducible $\boxtimes_q$-module of type 1 is a tensor product of evaluation modules. This paper contains a comprehensive description of the evaluation modules for $\boxtimes_q$. This description includes the following topics. Given an evaluation module $V$ for $\boxtimes_q$, we display 24 bases for $V$ that we find attractive. For each basis we give the matrices th…
As part of our study of the $q$-tetrahedron algebra $\boxtimes_q$ we introduce the notion of a $q$-inverting pair. Roughly speaking, this is a pair of invertible semisimple linear transformations on a finite-dimensional vector space, each of which acts on the eigenspaces of the other according to a certain rule. Our main result is a bijection between the following two sets: (i) the isomorphism classes of finite-dimensional irreducible $\boxtimes_q$-modules of type 1; (ii) the isomorphism classes of $q$-inverting pairs.
Let $Γ$ denote a distance-regular graph with classical parameters $(D,b,α,β)$ and $b\not=1$, $α=b-1$. The condition on $α$ implies that $Γ$ is formally self-dual. For $b=q^2$ we use the adjacency matrix and dual adjacency matrix to obtain an action of the $q$-tetrahedron algebra $\boxtimes_q$ on the standard module of $Γ$. We describe four algebra homomorphisms into $\boxtimes_q$ from the quantum affine algebra $U_q({\hat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2})$; using these we pull back the above $\boxtimes_q$-action to obtain four actions of $U_q({\hat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2})$ on the standard module of $Γ$.
The first goal of this note is to extend the well-known Feigin homomorphisms taking quantum groups to quantum polynomial algebras. More precisely, we define generalized Feigin homomorphisms from a quantum shuffle algebra to quantum polynomial algebras which extend the classical Feigin homomorphisms along the embedding of the quantum group into said quantum shuffle algebra. In a recent work of Berenstein and the author, analogous extensions of Feigin homomorphisms from the dual Hall-Ringel algebra of a valued quiver to quantum polynomial algebras were defined. To relate these constructions, we …
In this paper we further develop the connection between tridiagonal pairs and the q-tetrahedron algebra $\boxtimes_q$. Let V denote a finite dimensional vector space over an algebraically closed field and let A, A^* denote a tridiagonal pair on V. For $0 \leq i \leq d$ let $θ_i$ (resp. $θ^*_i$) denote a standard ordering of the eigenvalues of A (resp. A^*). Fix a nonzero scalar q which is not a root of unity. T. Ito and P. Terwilliger have shown that when $θ_i = q^{2i-d}$ and $θ^*_i = q^{d-2i}$ there exists an irreducible $\boxtimes_q$-module structure on V such that the $\boxtimes_q$ generato…
This is a set of notes describing several aspects of the space of paths on ADE Dynkin diagrams, with a particular attention paid to the graph E6. Many results originally due to A. Ocneanu are here described in a very elementary way (manipulation of square or rectangular matrices). We recall the concept of essential matrices (intertwiners) for a graph and describe their module properties with respect to right and left actions of fusion algebras. In the case of the graph E6, essential matrices build up a right module with respect to its own fusion algebra but a left module with respect to the fu…
We use Block's results to classify irreducible modules over the differential operator algebra $\mathbb{C}[t,t^{-1}, \frac d{dt}]$. From this classification and using "the twisting technique" we construct a lot of new irreducible modules over the Virasoro algebra. These new irreducible Virasoro modules are generally not weight modules. We determine the necessary and sufficient conditions for two such irreducible Virasoro modules to be isomorphic. Many examples for such irreducible Virasoro modules with different features are provided at the end of the paper. In particular the class of irreducib…
We study the representation theory of the Bershadsky-Polyakov algebra $\mathcal W_k = \mathcal{W}_k(sl_3,f_θ)$. In particular, Zhu algebra of $\mathcal W_k$ is isomorphic to a certain quotient of the Smith algebra, after changing the Virasoro vector. We classify all modules in the category $\mathcal{O}$ for the Bershadsky-Polyakov algebra $\mathcal W_k$ when $k=-5/3, -9/4, -1,0$. In the case $k=0$ we show that the Zhu algebra $A(\mathcal W_k)$ has $2$--dimensional indecomposable modules.
In this paper, for every $ε\in \mathbb{Z}$, we introduce an extension of the 2-toroidal Lie algebra by certain derivations. Based on the $ϕ_ε$-coordinated modules theory for vertex algebras, we give an explicit realization of a class of irreducible highest weight modules for this extended toroidal Lie algebra. When $ε=1$, this affords a realization of certain irreducible modules for the toroidal extended affine Lie algebras first constructed by Billig.
Let $V_{L}$ be the vertex algebra associated to a non-degenerate even lattice $L$, $θ$ the automorphism of $V_{L}$ induced from the $-1$ symmetry of $L$, and $V_{L}^{+}$ the fixed point subalgebra of $V_{L}$ under the action of $θ$. We classify the irreducible weak $V_{L}^{+}$-modules and show that any irreducible weak $V_{L}^{+}$-module is isomorphic to a weak submodule of some irreducible weak $V_{L}$-module or to a submodule of some irreducible $θ$-twisted $V_{L}$-module.
In this paper, we first classify all irreducible modules of the vertex algebra $V_L^+$ when $L$ is a negative definite even lattice of arbitrary rank. In particular, we show that any irreducible $V_L^+$-module is isomorphic to a submodule of an irreducible twisted $V_L$-module. We then extend this result to a vertex algebra $V_L^+$ when $L$ is a nondegenerate even lattice of finite rank.
For an irreducible module $P$ over the Weyl algebra $\mathcal{K}_n^+$ (resp. $\mathcal{K}_n$) and an irreducible module $M$ over the general liner Lie algebra $\mathfrak{gl}_n$, using Shen's monomorphism, we make $P\otimes M$ into a module over the Witt algebra $W_n^+$ (resp. over $W_n$). We obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for $P\otimes M$ to be an irreducible module over $W_n^+$ (resp. $W_n$), and determine all submodules of $P\otimes M$ when it is reducible. Thus we have constructed a large family of irreducible weight modules with many different weight supports and many irred…
We show that the support of an irreducible weight module over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, which has an infinite dimensional weight space, coincides with the weight lattice and that all nontrivial weight spaces of such a module are infinite dimensional. As a corollary, we obtain that every irreducible weight module over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, having a nontrivial finite dimensional weight space, is a Harish-Chandra module (and hence is either an irreducible highest or lowest weight module or an irreducible module from the intermediate series
We prove a bijection between finite-dimensional irreducible modules for an arbitrary quantum affine algebra $U_q(g)$ and finite-dimensional irreducible modules for its Borel subalgebra $U_q(g)^{\geq 0}$.
In this paper, we classify the finite dimensional irreducible modules for affine BMW algebra over an algebraically closed field with arbitrary characteristic.
We consider the quantum algebra $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ with $q$ not a root of unity. We describe the finite-dimensional irreducible $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$-modules from the point of view of the equitable presentation.
We show that the support of an irreducible weight module over the $W$-algebra $W(2, 2)$, which has an infinite dimensional weight space, coincides with the weight lattice and that all nontrivial weight spaces of such a module are infinite dimensional. As a corollary, we obtain that every irreducible weight module over the the $W$-algebra $W(2, 2)$, having a nontrivial finite dimensional weight space, is a Harish-Chandra module (and hence is either an irreducible highest or lowest weight module or an irreducible module of the intermediate series).
The vertex operator algebra M(1)^+ is the fixed point set of free bosonic vertex operator algebra M(1) under the -1 automorphism. All irreducible modules for M(1)^+ are classified in this paper for all ranks.
The irreducible modules for the fixed point vertex operator subalgebra V_L^+ of the vertex operator algebra V_L associated to an arbitrary positive definite even lattice L under the automorphism lifted from the -1 isometry of L are classified.
In this paper we classified irreducible modules for the loop of derivations of rational quantum torus with associative $\mathbb{C}_q^1\otimes B$ action and anti-associative $\mathbb{C}_q^2\otimes B$ action on the modules.
We construct a class of modules for extended affine Lie algebra $\widetilde{\frak{gl}_l({\bc_q})}$ by using the free fields. A necessary and sufficient condition is given for those modules being irreducible.
In this paper, we first present a classification theorem of infinite-dimensional simple Novikov algebras over an algebraically closed field with characteristic 0. Then we classify all the irreducible modules of a certain infinite-dimensional simple Novikov algebras with an idempotent element whose left action is locally finite.
An algorithm is described to compute the canonical basis of an irreducible module over a quantized enveloping algebra of a finite-dimensional semisimple Lie algebra. The algorithm works for modules that are constructed as a submodule of a tensor product of modules with known canonical bases.
In this paper we give a new proof for the classification of irreducible modules of an affine Hecke algebra of type $A_n$, which was obtained by G. E. Murphy in 1995.
The irreducible modules for the parafermion vertex operator algebra associated to any finite dimensional Lie algebra and any positive integer are identified, the quantum dimensions are computed and the fusion rules are determined.
We shall derive Kazhdan-Lusztig type character formula for the irreducible modules with arbitrary non-critical highest weights over affine Lie algebras from the rational case by using the translation functor, the Enright functor and Jantzen's deformation argument.
Let M(1) be the vertex algebra for a single free boson. We classify irreducible modules of certain vertex subalgebras of M(1) generated by two generators. These subalgebras correspond to the W(2, 2p-1)--algebras with central charge $1- 6 \frac{(p - 1) ^{2}}{p}$ where p is a positive integer, $p \ge 2$. We also determine the associated Zhu's algebras.
In this series of papers, we classify the irreducible weak $V_{L}^{+}$-modules and show that any irreducible weak $V_{L}^{+}$-module is isomorphic to a weak submodule of some irreducible weak $V_{L}$-module or to a submodule of some irreducible $θ$-twisted $V_{L}$-module. Let $M(1)^{+}$ be the fixed point subalgebra of the Heisenberg vertex operator algebra $M(1)$ …
Lie conformal algebras $\mathcal{W}(a,b)$ are the semi-direct sums of Virasoro Lie conformal algebra and its nontrivial conformal modules of rank one. In this paper, we first give a complete classification of all finite nontrivial irreducible conformal modules of $\mathcal{W}(a,b)$. It is shown that all such modules are of rank one. Moreover, with a similar method, all finite nontrivial irreducible conformal modules of Schrödinger-Virasoro type Lie conformal algebras $TSV(a,b)$ and $TSV(c)$ are characterized.
We construct irreducible modules V_α, α\in \C over W_3 algebra with c = -2 in terms of a free bosonic field. We prove that these modules exhaust all the irreducible modules of W_3 algebra with c = -2. Highest weights of modules V_α, α\in \C with respect to the full (two-dimensional) Cartan subalgebra of W_3 algebra are (α(α-1)/2, α(α-1)(2α-1)/6). They are parametrized by points (t, w) on a rational curve w^2 - t^2 (8t + 1)/9 = 0. Irreducible modules of vertex algebra W_{1+\infty} with c = -1 are also classified.
Let $V_{L}$ be the vertex algebra associated to a non-degenerate even lattice $L$, $θ$ the automorphism of $V_{L}$ induced from the $-1$-isometry of $L$, and $V_{L}^{+}$ the fixed point subalgebra of $V_{L}$ under the action of $θ$. In this paper (Part 1), we show that when the rank of $L$ is $1$, every non-zero weak $V_{L}^{…
We generalize the results of [KMST] concerning equivariant quantization by means of Verma modules $M(λ)$ for generic weight $λ$ to the case of general $λ$. We consider the relationship between the Shapovalov form on an irreducible highest weight module of a semisimple complex Lie algebra, fusion elements, and equivariant quantization. We also discuss some limiting properties of fusion elements. [KMST] E. Karolinsky and A. Stolin, Dynamical Yang-Baxter equations, quasi-Poisson homogeneous spaces, and quantization, Lett. Math. Phys., 71 (2005), p.179-197; e-print math.QA/0309203.
By using methods developed in arXiv:math/0602181 we study the irreducibility of certain Wakimoto modules for $\widehat{sl_2}$ at the critical level. We classify all $χ\in {\Bbb C}((z))$ such that the corresponding Wakimoto module $W_χ$ is irreducible. It turns out that zeros of Schur polynomials play important rule in the classification result.
We decompose the level-1 irreducible highest weight modules of the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\hat{sl}_n)$ with respect to the level-0 $U'_q (\hat{sl}_n)$--action defined in q-alg/9702024. The decomposition is parameterized by the skew Young diagrams of the border strip type.
We give a simple description of the natural bijection between the set of FLOTW bipartitions and the set of Uglov bipartitions (which generalizes the set of Kleshchev bipartitions). These bipartitions, which label the crystal graphs of irreducible $\mathcal{U}\_v({\hat{\mathfrak{sl}}\_e})$-modules of level two, naturally appear in the context of the modular representation theory of Hecke algebras of type $B\_n$.
Let d \subset d' be finite-dimensional Lie algebras, H = U(d), H'=U(d') the corresponding universal enveloping algebras endowed with the cocommutative Hopf algebra structure. We show that if L is a primitive Lie pseudoalgebra over H then all finite irreducible L' = Cur_H^{H'} L-modules are of the form Cur_H^{H'} V, where V is an irreducible L-module, with a single class of exceptions. Indeed, when L = H(d, χ, ω), we introduce non current L'-modules that are obtained by modifying the current pseudoaction with an extra term depending on an element t \in \d' \setminus d, which must satisfy some t…
We bosonize certain components of level $\ell$ $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)$-intertwiners of $(\ell + 1)$-dimensions. For $\ell = 2$, these intertwiners, after certain modification by bosonic vertex operators, are added to the algebra $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)$ at level 2 to construct all irreducible highest weight representations of level 1 for the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\hat{sp}_4)$.
An action of the Yangian of the general Lie algebra gl(N) is defined on every irreducible integrable highest weight module of affine gl(N) with level greater than 1. This action is derived, by means of the Drinfeld duality and a subsequent semi-infinite limit, from a certain induced representation of the degenerate double affine Hecke algebra H. Each vacuum module of affine gl(N) is decomposed into irreducible Yangian subrepresentations by means of the intertwiners of H. Components of this decomposition are parameterized by semi-infinite skew Young diagrams.
We consider the quantized Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov difference equation (qKZ) with values in a tensor product of irreducible sl(2) modules, the equation defined in terms of rational R-matrices. We solve the equation in terms of multidimensional q-hypergeometric integrals. We identify the space of solutions of the qKZ equation with the tensor product of the corresponding modules over the quantum group $U_qsl(2)$. We compute the monodromy of the qKZ equation in terms of the trigonometric R-matrices.
We construct covariant $q$-deformed holomorphic structures for all finitely-generated relative Hopf modules over the irreducible quantum flag manifolds endowed with their Heckenberger--Kolb calculi. In the classical limit these reduce to modules of sections of holomorphic homogeneous vector bundles over irreducible flag manifolds. For the case of simple relative Hopf modules, we show that this covariant holomorphic structure is unique. This generalises earlier work of Majid, Khalkhali, Landi, and van Suijlekom for line modules of the Podleś sphere, and subsequent work of Khalkhali and Moatadel…
Let $V$ be a simple vertex algebra of countable dimension, $G$ be a finite automorphism group of $V$ and $σ$ be a central element of $G$. Assume that ${\cal S}$ is a finite set of inequivalent irreducible $σ$-twisted $V$-modules such that ${\cal S}$ is invariant under the action of $G$. Then there is a finite dimensional semisimple associative algebra ${\cal A}_α(G,{\cal S})$ for a suitable $2$-cocycle $α$ naturally determined by the $G$-action on ${\cal S}$ such that $({\cal A}_α(G,{\cal S}),V^G)$ form a dual pair on the sum $\cal M$ of $σ$-twisted $V$-modules in ${\cal S}$ in the sense that …
In this paper we classify all simple weight modules for a quantum group $U_q$ at a complex root of unity $q$ when the Lie algebra is not of type $G_2$. By a weight module we mean a finitely generated $U_q$-module which has finite dimensional weight spaces and is a sum of those. Our approach follows the procedures used by S. Fernando and O. Mathieu to solve the corresponding problem for semisimple complex Lie algebras.
Let $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)^{\geq 0}$ denote the Borel subalgebra of the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)$. We show that the following hold for any choice of scalars $ε_0, ε_1$ from the set ${1,-1}$. (i) Let $V$ be a finite-dimensional irreducible $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)^{\geq 0}$-module of type $(ε_0,ε_1)$. Then the action of $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)^{\geq 0}$ on $V$ extends uniquely to an action of $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)$ on $V$. The resulting $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)$-module structure on $V$ is irreducible and of type $(ε_0,ε_1)$. (ii) Let $V$ be a finite-dimensional irreducible $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)$-module of type $(ε_0,ε…
Let $n>1$ be an integer, $α\in{\mathbb C}^n$, $b\in{\mathbb C}$, and $V$ a $\mathfrak{gl}_n$-module. We define a class of weight modules $F^α_{b}(V)$ over $\sl_{n+1}$ using the restriction of modules of tensor fields over the Lie algebra of vector fields on $n$-dimensional torus. In this paper we consider the case $n=2$ and prove the irreducibility of such 5-parameter $\mathfrak{sl}_{3}$-modules $F^α_{b}(V)$ generically. All such modules have infinite dimensional weight spaces and lie outside of the category of Gelfand-Tsetlin modules. Hence, this construction yields new families of irreducibl…
We classify the simple quantum group modules with finite dimensional weight spaces when the quantum parameter $q$ is transcendental and the Lie algebra is not of type $G_2$. This is part $2$ of the story. The first part being Irreducible quantum group modules with finite dimensional weight spaces. I (arXiv:1504.07042). In that paper the classification is reduced to the classification of torsion free simple modules. In this paper we follow the procedures used by O. Mathieu to reduce the classification to the classification of infinite dimensional admissible simple highest weight modules. We the…
We introduce the notion of a Billiard Array. This is an equilateral triangular array of one-dimensional subspaces of a vector space $V$, subject to several conditions that specify which sums are direct. We show that the Billiard Arrays on $V$ are in bijection with the 3-tuples of totally opposite flags on $V$. We classify the Billiard Arrays up to isomorphism. We use Billiard Arrays to describe the finite-dimensional irreducible modules for the quantum algebra $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ and the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_2$.
Specializing properly the parameters contained in the maximal cyclic representation of the non-restricted A-type quantum algebra at roots of unity, we find the unique primitive vector in it. We show that the submodule generated by the primitive vector can be identified with an irreducble highest weight module of the finite dimensional A-type quantum algebra which is defined as the subalgebra of the restricted quantum algebra at roots of unity.
In a categorification of tensor products of fundamental representations of quantum sl(k) via highest weight categories, the indecomposable tilting modules descend to the canonical basis. Since projective functors map tilting modules to tilting modules, the coefficients of the canonical basis of tensor products of finite dimensional, irreducible representations under the action of the Chevalley generators are positive.
In this paper, by using the "twisting technique" we obtain a class of new modules $A_b$ over the Witt algebras $\mathcal{W}_n$ from modules $A$ over the Weyl algebras $\mathcal{K}_n$ (of Laurent polynomials) for any $b\in\mathbb{C}$. We give the necessary and sufficient conditions for $A_b$ to be irreducible, and determine the necessary and sufficient conditions for two such irreducible $\mathcal{W}_n$-modules to be isomorphic. Since $\sl_{n+1}(\mathbb{C})$ is a subalgebra of $\mathcal{W}_n$, all the above irreducible $\mathcal{W}_n$-modules $A_b$ can be considered as $\sl_{n+1}(\mathbb{C})$-m…
