The irreducible modules for the fixed point vertex operator subalgebra V_L^+ of the vertex operator algebra V_L associated to an arbitrary positive definite even lattice L under the automorphism lifted from the -1 isometry of L are classified.
The vertex operator algebra M(1)^+ is the fixed point set of free bosonic vertex operator algebra M(1) under the -1 automorphism. All irreducible modules for M(1)^+ are classified in this paper for all ranks.
In this paper, we first classify all irreducible modules of the vertex algebra $V_L^+$ when $L$ is a negative definite even lattice of arbitrary rank. In particular, we show that any irreducible $V_L^+$-module is isomorphic to a submodule of an irreducible twisted $V_L$-module. We then extend this result to a vertex algebra $V_L^+$ when $L$ is a nondegenerate even lattice of finite rank.
Let M(1) be the vertex algebra for a single free boson. We classify irreducible modules of certain vertex subalgebras of M(1) generated by two generators. These subalgebras correspond to the W(2, 2p-1)--algebras with central charge $1- 6 \frac{(p - 1) ^{2}}{p}$ where p is a positive integer, $p \ge 2$. We also determine the associated Zhu's algebras.
Let $V_{L}$ be the vertex algebra associated to a non-degenerate even lattice $L$, $θ$ the automorphism of $V_{L}$ induced from the $-1$ symmetry of $L$, and $V_{L}^{+}$ the fixed point subalgebra of $V_{L}$ under the action of $θ$. We classify the irreducible weak $V_{L}^{+}$-modules and show that any irreducible weak $V_{L}^{+}$-module is isomorphic to a weak submodule of some irreducible weak $V_{L}$-module or to a submodule of some irreducible $θ$-twisted $V_{L}$-module.
In this paper, for every $ε\in \mathbb{Z}$, we introduce an extension of the 2-toroidal Lie algebra by certain derivations. Based on the $ϕ_ε$-coordinated modules theory for vertex algebras, we give an explicit realization of a class of irreducible highest weight modules for this extended toroidal Lie algebra. When $ε=1$, this affords a realization of certain irreducible modules for the toroidal extended affine Lie algebras first constructed by Billig.
In this series of papers, we classify the irreducible weak $V_{L}^{+}$-modules and show that any irreducible weak $V_{L}^{+}$-module is isomorphic to a weak submodule of some irreducible weak $V_{L}$-module or to a submodule of some irreducible $θ$-twisted $V_{L}$-module. Let $M(1)^{+}$ be the fixed point subalgebra of the Heisenberg vertex operator algebra $M(1)$ …
Let $V_{L}$ be the vertex algebra associated to a non-degenerate even lattice $L$, $θ$ the automorphism of $V_{L}$ induced from the $-1$-isometry of $L$, and $V_{L}^{+}$ the fixed point subalgebra of $V_{L}$ under the action of $θ$. In this paper (Part 1), we show that when the rank of $L$ is $1$, every non-zero weak $V_{L}^{…
The irreducible modules of the 2-cycle permutation orbifold models of lattice vertex operator algebras of rank 1 are classified, the quantum dimensions of irreducible modules and the fusion rules are determined.
The irreducible modules for the parafermion vertex operator algebra associated to any finite dimensional Lie algebra and any positive integer are identified, the quantum dimensions are computed and the fusion rules are determined.
We construct irreducible modules of centrally-extended classical Lie algebras over left ideals of the algebra of differential operators on the circle, through certain irreducible modules of centrally-extended classical Lie algebras of infinite matrices with finite number of nonzero entries. The structures of vertex algebras associated with the vaccum representations of these algebras are determined. Moreover, we prove that under certain conditions, the highest weight irreducible modules of centrally-extended classical Lie algebras of infinite matrices with finite number of nonzero entries naru…
In this paper, under the assumption that the diagonal coset vertex operator algebra $C(L_{\mathfrak g}(k+l,0),L_{\mathfrak g}(k,0)\otimes L_{\mathfrak g}(l,0))$ is rational and $C_2$-cofinite, the global dimension of $C(L_{\mathfrak g}(k+l,0),L_{\mathfrak g}(k,0)\otimes L_{\mathfrak g}(l,0))$ is obtained, the quantum dimensions of multiplicity spaces viewed as $C(L_{\mathfrak g}(k+l,0),L_{\mathfrak g}(k,0)\otimes L_{\mathfrak g}(l,0))$-modules are also obtained. As an application, a method to classify irreducible modules of $C(L_{\mathfrak g}(k+l,0),L_{\mathfrak g}(k,0)\otimes L_{\mathfrak g}(…
We consider the quantum algebra $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ with $q$ not a root of unity. We describe the finite-dimensional irreducible $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$-modules from the point of view of the equitable presentation.
We study strongly graded vertex algebras and their strongly graded modules, which are conformal vertex algebras and their modules with a second, compatible grading by an abelian group satisfying certain grading restriction conditions. We consider a tensor product of strongly graded vertex algebras and its tensor product strongly graded modules. We prove that a tensor product of strongly graded irreducible modules for a tensor product of strongly graded vertex algebras is irreducible, and that such irreducible modules, up to equivalence, exhaust certain naturally defined strongly graded irreduc…
Let V be a simple vertex operator algebra and G a finite automorphism group. We give a construction of intertwining operators for irreducible V^G-modules which occur as submodules of irreducible V-modules by using intertwining operators for V. We also determine some fusion rules for a vertex operator algebra as an application.
In this paper, we study Virasoro vertex algebras and affine vertex algebras over a general field of characteristic $p>2$. More specifically, we study certain quotients of the universal Virasoro and affine vertex algebras by ideals related to the $p$-centers of the Virasoro algebra and affine Lie algebras. Among the main results, we classify their irreducible $\mathbb{N}$-graded modules by explicitly determining their Zhu algebras and show that these vertex algebras have only finitely many irreducible $\mathbb{N}$-graded modules and they are $C_2$-cofinite.
In this paper, we first present a classification theorem of infinite-dimensional simple Novikov algebras over an algebraically closed field with characteristic 0. Then we classify all the irreducible modules of a certain infinite-dimensional simple Novikov algebras with an idempotent element whose left action is locally finite.
Let V be a simple vertex operator algebra and G a finite automorphism group. Then there is a natural right G-action on the set of all inequivalent irreducible V-modules. Let S be a finite set of inequivalent irreducible V-modules which is closed under the action of G. There is a finite dimensional semisimple associative algebra A_α(G,S) for a suitable 2-cocycle αnaturally determined by the G-action on S such that A_α(G,S) and the vertex operator algebra V^G form a dual pair on the sum of V-modules in S in the sense of Howe. In particular, every irreducible V-module is completely reducible V^G-…
Let $V$ be a simple vertex algebra of countable dimension, $G$ be a finite automorphism group of $V$ and $σ$ be a central element of $G$. Assume that ${\cal S}$ is a finite set of inequivalent irreducible $σ$-twisted $V$-modules such that ${\cal S}$ is invariant under the action of $G$. Then there is a finite dimensional semisimple associative algebra ${\cal A}_α(G,{\cal S})$ for a suitable $2$-cocycle $α$ naturally determined by the $G$-action on ${\cal S}$ such that $({\cal A}_α(G,{\cal S}),V^G)$ form a dual pair on the sum $\cal M$ of $σ$-twisted $V$-modules in ${\cal S}$ in the sense that …
We generalize the results of [KMST] concerning equivariant quantization by means of Verma modules $M(λ)$ for generic weight $λ$ to the case of general $λ$. We consider the relationship between the Shapovalov form on an irreducible highest weight module of a semisimple complex Lie algebra, fusion elements, and equivariant quantization. We also discuss some limiting properties of fusion elements. [KMST] E. Karolinsky and A. Stolin, Dynamical Yang-Baxter equations, quasi-Poisson homogeneous spaces, and quantization, Lett. Math. We use Block's results to classify irreducible modules over the differential operator algebra $\mathbb{C}[t,t^{-1}, \frac d{dt}]$. From this classification and using "the twisting technique" we construct a lot of new irreducible modules over the Virasoro algebra. These new irreducible Virasoro modules are generally not weight modules. We determine the necessary and sufficient conditions for two such irreducible Virasoro modules to be isomorphic. Many examples for such irreducible Virasoro modules with different features are provided at the end of the paper. In particular the class of irreducib…
The W_3 algebra of central charge 6/5 is realized as a subalgebra of the vertex operator algebra V_{\sqrt{2}A_2} associated with a lattice of type \sqrt{2}A_2 by using both coset construction and orbifold theory. It is proved that W_3 is rational. Its irreducible modules are classified and constructed explicitly. The characters of those irreducible modules are also computed.
We study $\N$-graded $ϕ$-coordinated modules for a general quantum vertex algebra $V$ of a certain type in terms of an associative algebra $\widetilde{A}(V)$ introduced by Y.-Z. Huang. Among the main results, we establish a bijection between the set of equivalence classes of irreducible $\N$-graded $ϕ$-coordinated $V$-modules and the set of isomorphism classes of irreducible $\widetilde{A}(V)$-modules. We also show that for a vertex operator algebra, rationality, regularity, and fusion rules are independent of the choice of the conformal vector.
It was shown by Abe, Buhl and Dong that the vertex algebra $V_L^+$ and its irreducible weak modules satisfy the $C_2$-cofiniteness condition when $L$ is a positive definite even lattice. In this paper, we extend their results by showing that the vertex algebra $V_L^+$ and its irreducible weak modules are $C_2$-cofinite when $L$ is a negative definite even lattice and when $L$ is a non-degenerate even lattice that is neither negative definite nor positive definite.
Vertex operators associated with level two $U_q(\widehat{sl}_2)$ modules are constructed explicitly using bosons and fermions. An integral formula is derived for the trace of products of vertex operators. These results are applied to give $n$-point spin correlation functions of an integrable $S=1$ quantum spin chain, extending an earlier work of Jimbo {\em et al} for the case $S=1/2$.
We show that the support of an irreducible weight module over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, which has an infinite dimensional weight space, coincides with the weight lattice and that all nontrivial weight spaces of such a module are infinite dimensional. As a corollary, we obtain that every irreducible weight module over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra, having a nontrivial finite dimensional weight space, is a Harish-Chandra module (and hence is either an irreducible highest or lowest weight module or an irreducible module from the intermediate series
We prove a bijection between finite-dimensional irreducible modules for an arbitrary quantum affine algebra $U_q(g)$ and finite-dimensional irreducible modules for its Borel subalgebra $U_q(g)^{\geq 0}$.
In this paper, we classify the finite dimensional irreducible modules for affine BMW algebra over an algebraically closed field with arbitrary characteristic.
We show that the support of an irreducible weight module over the $W$-algebra $W(2, 2)$, which has an infinite dimensional weight space, coincides with the weight lattice and that all nontrivial weight spaces of such a module are infinite dimensional. As a corollary, we obtain that every irreducible weight module over the the $W$-algebra $W(2, 2)$, having a nontrivial finite dimensional weight space, is a Harish-Chandra module (and hence is either an irreducible highest or lowest weight module or an irreducible module of the intermediate series).
We classify irreducible $σ$-twisted modules for the N=1 super triplet vertex operator superalgebra $\mathcal{SW}(m)$ introduced recently [Adamovic D., Milas A., Comm. Math. Phys., to appear, arXiv:0712.0379]. Irreducible graded dimensions of $σ$-twisted modules are also determined. These results, combined with our previous work in the untwisted case, show that the $SL(2,\mathbb{Z})$-closure of the space spanned by irreducible characters, irreducible supercharacters and $σ$-twisted irreducible characters is $(9m+3)$-dimensional. We present strong evidence that this is also the (full) space of g…
In this paper we classified irreducible modules for the loop of derivations of rational quantum torus with associative $\mathbb{C}_q^1\otimes B$ action and anti-associative $\mathbb{C}_q^2\otimes B$ action on the modules.
We construct a class of modules for extended affine Lie algebra $\widetilde{\frak{gl}_l({\bc_q})}$ by using the free fields. A necessary and sufficient condition is given for those modules being irreducible.
An algorithm is described to compute the canonical basis of an irreducible module over a quantized enveloping algebra of a finite-dimensional semisimple Lie algebra. The algorithm works for modules that are constructed as a submodule of a tensor product of modules with known canonical bases.
In this paper, the irreducible modules for the $\mathbb{Z}_{2}$-orbifold vertex operator subalgebra of the parafermion vertex operator algebra associated to the irreducible highest weight modules for the affine Kac-Moody algebra $A_1^{(1)}$ of level $k$ are classified and constructed.
In this paper we give a new proof for the classification of irreducible modules of an affine Hecke algebra of type $A_n$, which was obtained by G. E. Murphy in 1995.
For an irreducible module $P$ over the Weyl algebra $\mathcal{K}_n^+$ (resp. $\mathcal{K}_n$) and an irreducible module $M$ over the general liner Lie algebra $\mathfrak{gl}_n$, using Shen's monomorphism, we make $P\otimes M$ into a module over the Witt algebra $W_n^+$ (resp. over $W_n$). We obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for $P\otimes M$ to be an irreducible module over $W_n^+$ (resp. $W_n$), and determine all submodules of $P\otimes M$ when it is reducible. Thus we have constructed a large family of irreducible weight modules with many different weight supports and many irred…
We classify the irreducible restricted modules for the affine Nappi-Witten Lie algebra $\hat{H}_{4}$ with some natural conditions. It turns out the representation theory of $\hat{H}_{4}$ is quite different from the theory of representations of Heisenberg algebras. We also study the extension of the vertex operator algebra $V_{\hat{H}_{4}}(\ell,0)$ by the even lattice $L$. We give the structure of the extension $V_{\hat{H}_{4}}(\ell,0)\otimes \C[L]$ and its irreducible modules via irreducible representations of $V_{\hat{H}_{4}}(\ell,0)$ viewed as a vertex algebra.
We shall derive Kazhdan-Lusztig type character formula for the irreducible modules with arbitrary non-critical highest weights over affine Lie algebras from the rational case by using the translation functor, the Enright functor and Jantzen's deformation argument.
Lie conformal algebras $\mathcal{W}(a,b)$ are the semi-direct sums of Virasoro Lie conformal algebra and its nontrivial conformal modules of rank one. In this paper, we first give a complete classification of all finite nontrivial irreducible conformal modules of $\mathcal{W}(a,b)$. It is shown that all such modules are of rank one. Moreover, with a similar method, all finite nontrivial irreducible conformal modules of Schrödinger-Virasoro type Lie conformal algebras $TSV(a,b)$ and $TSV(c)$ are characterized.
By using methods developed in arXiv:math/0602181 we study the irreducibility of certain Wakimoto modules for $\widehat{sl_2}$ at the critical level. We classify all $χ\in {\Bbb C}((z))$ such that the corresponding Wakimoto module $W_χ$ is irreducible. It turns out that zeros of Schur polynomials play important rule in the classification result.
In this paper, we continue the study on toroidal vertex algebras initiated in \cite{LTW}, to study concrete toroidal vertex algebras associated to toroidal Lie algebra $L_{r}(\hat{\frak{g}})=\hat{\frak{g}}\otimes L_r$, where $\hat{\frak{g}}$ is an untwisted affine Lie algebra and $L_r=$\mathbb{C}[t_{1}^{\pm 1},\ldots,t_{r}^{\pm 1}]$. We first construct an $(r+1)$-toroidal vertex algebra $V(T,0)$ and show that the category of restricted $L_{r}(\hat{\frak{g}})$-modules is canonically isomorphic to that of $V(T,0)$-modules.Let $c$ denote the standard central element of $\hat{\frak{g}}$ and set $S…
Let $L_c$ be simple vertex operator superalgebra(SVOA) associated to the vacuum representation of N=2 superconformal algebra with the central charge $c$. Let $c_m = {3m}/{m+2}$. We classify all irreducible modules for the SVOA $L_{c_m}$. When $m$ is an integer we prove that the set of all unitary representations of N=2 superconformal algebra with the central charge $c_m$ provides all irreducible $L_{c_m}$-modules. When $m \notin {\N} $ and $m$ is an admissible rational number we show that irreducible $L_{c_m}$-modules are parameterized with the union of one finite set and union of finitely man…
A regular vertex operator algebra is a vertex operator algebra such that any weak module (without grading) is a direct sum of ordinary irreducible modules. In this paper we give several sufficient conditions under which a rational vertex operator algebra is regular. We prove that the moonshine module vertex operator algebra $V^{\natural},$ the vertex operator algebras $L(l,0)$ associated with the integrable representations of affine algebras of level $l,$ the vertex operator algebras $L(c_{p,q},0)$ associated with irreducible highest weight representations for the discrete series of the Viraso…
We decompose the level-1 irreducible highest weight modules of the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\hat{sl}_n)$ with respect to the level-0 $U'_q (\hat{sl}_n)$--action defined in q-alg/9702024. The decomposition is parameterized by the skew Young diagrams of the border strip type.
We give a simple description of the natural bijection between the set of FLOTW bipartitions and the set of Uglov bipartitions (which generalizes the set of Kleshchev bipartitions). These bipartitions, which label the crystal graphs of irreducible $\mathcal{U}\_v({\hat{\mathfrak{sl}}\_e})$-modules of level two, naturally appear in the context of the modular representation theory of Hecke algebras of type $B\_n$.
Let d \subset d' be finite-dimensional Lie algebras, H = U(d), H'=U(d') the corresponding universal enveloping algebras endowed with the cocommutative Hopf algebra structure. We show that if L is a primitive Lie pseudoalgebra over H then all finite irreducible L' = Cur_H^{H'} L-modules are of the form Cur_H^{H'} V, where V is an irreducible L-module, with a single class of exceptions. Indeed, when L = H(d, χ, ω), we introduce non current L'-modules that are obtained by modifying the current pseudoaction with an extra term depending on an element t \in \d' \setminus d, which must satisfy some t…
$C_2$ cofiniteness and rationality of $V_{L_2}^{S_4}$ are obtained, and irreducible $V_{L_2}^{S_4}$-modules are classified. With the assumption of rationality and $C_2$ cofiniteness, irreducible $V_{L_2}^{A_5}$-modules are determined. Also, quantum dimensions of these irreducible modules are calculated.
We construct irreducible modules V_α, α\in \C over W_3 algebra with c = -2 in terms of a free bosonic field. We prove that these modules exhaust all the irreducible modules of W_3 algebra with c = -2. Highest weights of modules V_α, α\in \C with respect to the full (two-dimensional) Cartan subalgebra of W_3 algebra are (α(α-1)/2, α(α-1)(2α-1)/6). They are parametrized by points (t, w) on a rational curve w^2 - t^2 (8t + 1)/9 = 0. Irreducible modules of vertex algebra W_{1+\infty} with c = -1 are also classified.
The admissible modules for $\hat{sl}_2$ are studied from the point of view of vertex operator algebra. If $l$ is rational such that $l+2={p\over q}$ for some coprime positive integers $p\ge 2$ and $q$, Kac and Wakimoto found finitely many distinguished irreducible representations for $\hat{sl}_2$, called admissible representations. In this paper we prove that the vertex operator algebra $L(l,0)$ associated to irreducible highest weight representation of $l$ is not rational if $l$ is not a positive integer. However if we change the Virasoro algebra in certain way, $L(l,0)$ becomes a rational ve…
An irreducible module for the parafermion vertex operator algebra $K(\mathfrak{sl}_2,k)$ is said to be of $σ$-type if an automorphism of the fusion algebra of $K(\mathfrak{sl}_2,k)$ of order $k$ is trivial on it. For any integer $k \ge 3$, we show that there exists an automorphism of order $2$ of the subalgebra of the fusion algebra of $K(\mathfrak{sl}_2,k)^{\langle θ\rangle}$ spanned by the irreducible direct summands of $σ$-type irreducible $K(\mathfrak{sl}_2,k)$-modules, where $θ$ is an involution of $K(\mathfrak{sl}_2,k)$. We discuss some examples of such an automorphism as well.
We consider the quantized Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov difference equation (qKZ) with values in a tensor product of irreducible sl(2) modules, the equation defined in terms of rational R-matrices. We solve the equation in terms of multidimensional q-hypergeometric integrals. We identify the space of solutions of the qKZ equation with the tensor product of the corresponding modules over the quantum group $U_qsl(2)$. We compute the monodromy of the qKZ equation in terms of the trigonometric R-matrices.
The automorphism group of the vertex operator algebra $V_L^+$ is studied by using its action on isomorphism classes of irreducible $V_L^+$-modules. In particular, the shape of the automorphism group of $V_L^+$ is determined when $L$ is isomorphic to an even unimodular lattice without roots, $\sqrt2R$ for an irreducible root lattice $R$ of type $ADE$ and the Barnes-Wall lattice of rank 16.
In this paper we classify all simple weight modules for a quantum group $U_q$ at a complex root of unity $q$ when the Lie algebra is not of type $G_2$. By a weight module we mean a finitely generated $U_q$-module which has finite dimensional weight spaces and is a sum of those. Our approach follows the procedures used by S. Fernando and O. Mathieu to solve the corresponding problem for semisimple complex Lie algebras.
Let $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)^{\geq 0}$ denote the Borel subalgebra of the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)$. We show that the following hold for any choice of scalars $ε_0, ε_1$ from the set ${1,-1}$. (i) Let $V$ be a finite-dimensional irreducible $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)^{\geq 0}$-module of type $(ε_0,ε_1)$. Then the action of $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)^{\geq 0}$ on $V$ extends uniquely to an action of $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)$ on $V$. The resulting $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)$-module structure on $V$ is irreducible and of type $(ε_0,ε_1)$. (ii) Let $V$ be a finite-dimensional irreducible $U_q(\hat{sl}_2)$-module of type $(ε_0,ε…
In vertex algebra theory, fusion rules are described as the dimension of the vector space of intertwining operators between three irreducible modules. We describe fusion rules in the category of weight modules for the Weyl vertex algebra. This way we confirm the conjecture on fusion rules based on the Verlinde algebra. We explicitly construct intertwining operators appearing in the formula for fusion rules. We present a result which relates irreducible weight modules for the Weyl vertex algebra to the irreducible modules for the affine Lie superalgebra $\widehat{gl(1 \vert 1)}$.
We classify the simple quantum group modules with finite dimensional weight spaces when the quantum parameter $q$ is transcendental and the Lie algebra is not of type $G_2$. This is part $2$ of the story. The first part being Irreducible quantum group modules with finite dimensional weight spaces. I (arXiv:1504.07042). In that paper the classification is reduced to the classification of torsion free simple modules. In this paper we follow the procedures used by O. Mathieu to reduce the classification to the classification of infinite dimensional admissible simple highest weight modules. We the…
Let $L((n-\tfrac 3 2)Λ_0)$, $n \in \Bbb N$, be a vertex operator algebra associated to the irreducible highest weight module $L((n-\tfrac 3 2)Λ_0)$ for a symplectic affine Lie algebra. We find a complete set of irreducible modules for $L((n-\tfrac 3 2)Λ_0)$ and show that every module for $L((n-\tfrac 3 2)Λ_0)$ from the category $\Cal O$ is completely reducible.
