We develop a generic reprersentation-independent contraction procedure for obtaining, for instance, $R_{\sf h}$ and $L$ operators of arbitrary dimensions for the quantized ${\cal U}_{\sf h}(osp(2|1))$ algebra corresponding to the classical $r_2$ matrix from the pertinent quantities of the standard q-deformed ${\cal U}_q(osp(2|1))$ algebra. Also the quantized ${\bf U_h}(osp(2|1))$ algebra corresponding to the classical $r_1$ matrix comprising of the generators of the classical $sl(2)$ algebra is obtained in terms of a nonlinear basis set.
In this paper, we present the hidden symmetry behind the Faddeev-Reshetikhin-Takhtajan-Semenov-Tian-Shansky realization of quantum affine superalgebras $U_q(\hat {osp}(1,2))$ and add the q-Serre relation to the Drinfeld realization of $U_q(\hat {osp}(1,2))$ (math.QA/9712011) derived from the FRTS realization.
A triangular quantum deformation of $ osp(2/1) $ from the classical $r$-matrix including an odd generator is presented with its full Hopf algebra structure. Representations of quantum superalgebras provide a natural framework in which to model supersymmetric quantum systems. Each quantum superalgebra, belonging to the class of quasi-triangular Hopf superalgebras, contains a universal R-matrix which automatically satisfies the Yang--Baxter equation. An elliptic two-parameter deformation of the (universal enveloping superalgebra of) affine Lie superalgebra $osp(1|2)^{(1)}$ is proposed in terms of free boson realization. This deformed superalgebra is shown to fit in the framework of infinite Hopf family of superalgebras, a generalization of the infinite Hopf family of algebras proposed earlier by the authors. The trigonometric and rational degenerations are briefly discussed.

We explicitly compute the first and second cohomology groups of the classical Lie superalgebras $sl_{m|n}$ and $osp_{2|2n}$ with coefficients in the finite dimensional irreducible modules and the Kac modules. We also show that the second cohomology groups of these Lie superalgebras with coefficients in the respective universal enveloping algebras (under the adjoint action) vanish. The latter result in particular implies that the universal enveloping algebras $U(sl_{m|n})$ and $U(osp_{2|2n})$ do not admit any non-trivial formal deformations of Gerstenhaber type.

We provide an explicit isomorphism between a quotient of the Bannai--Ito algebra and the Brauer algebra. We clarify also the connection with the action of the Lie superalgebra osp(1|2) on the threefold tensor product of its fundamental representation. Finally, a conjecture is proposed to describe the centralizer of osp(1|2) acting on three copies of an arbitrary finite irreducible representation in terms of a quotient of the Bannai-Ito algebra.
The Bannai-Ito algebra $B(n)$ of rank $(n-2)$ is defined as the algebra generated by the Casimir operators arising in the $n$-fold tensor product of the $osp(1,2)$ superalgebra. We recall the relation between the Lie superalgebra $osp(1/2n)$ and para-Bose operators. The quantum superalgebra $U_q[osp(1/2n)]$, defined as usual in terms of its Chevalley generators, is shown to be isomorphic to an associative algebra generated by so-called pre-oscillator operators satisfying a number of relations. From these relations, and the analogue with the non-deformed case, one can interpret these pre-oscillator operators as deformed para-Bose operators. A description of the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra $osp(2n+1/2m)$ and also of its $q-$deformed analogue $U_q[osp(2n+1/2m)]$ in terms of a new set of generators, called Green generators, is given. These generators are very different form the well known Chevalley generators. Mathematically the Green generators are the root vectors, corresponding to the positive and the negative orthogonal roots. Physically, they consist of $m$ pairs of (deformed) para-Bose operators and $n$ pairs of (deformed) para-Fermi operators.
New convolution identities for orthogonal polynomials belonging to the $q=-1$ analog of the Askey-scheme are obtained. The Racah problem for the quantum superalgebra $\mathfrak{osp}_{q}(1|2)$ is considered. The intermediate Casimir operators are shown to realize a $q$-deformation of the Bannai-Ito algebra. The Racah coefficients of $\mathfrak{osp}_q(1|2)$ are calculated explicitly in terms of basic orthogonal polynomials that $q$-generalize the Bannai-Ito polynomials. The relation between these $q$-deformed Bannai-Ito polynomials and the $q$-Racah/Askey-Wilson polynomials is discussed.

They are based on the root of unity representations of the quantum orthosymplectic superalgebra \\U, which were found recently. In this paper, we investigate the Lie algebra structures of weight one subspaces of $C_2$-cofinite vertex operator superalgebras. We analyse the Witten-Woronowicz's type deformations of the Lie superalgebra osp(2,2) and obtain a deformation parametrized by three independent parameters. For some of these algebras, finite dimensional representations are formulated in terms of a finite difference operator, providing operators that are relevant for the classification of quasi exactly solvable, finite difference equations. Similar representations are also pointed out for the Lie superalgebra osp(1,2).
A 2-toroidal Lie superalgebra is constructed using bosonic fields and a ghost field. The superalgebra contains $osp(1|2n)^{(1)}$ as a distinguished subalgebra and behaves similarly to the toroidal Lie superalgebra of type $B(0, n)$. Let Uq(g) be the quantum affine superalgebra associated with an affine Kac-Moody superalgebra g which belongs to the three series osp(1|2n)^(1),sl(1|2n)^(2) and osp(2|2n)^(2). We develop vertex operator constructions for the level 1 irreducible integrable highest weight representations and classify the finite dimensional irreducible representations of Uq(g). This makes essential use of the Drinfeld realisation for Uq(g), and quantum correspondences between affine Kac-Moody superalgebras, developed in earlier papers.
We introduce a modified quantum enveloping algebra as well as a (modified) covering quantum algebra for the ortho-symplectic Lie superalgebra osp(1|2). Then we formulate and compute the corresponding canonical bases, and relate them to the counterpart for sl(2). This provides a first example of canonical basis for quantum superalgebras.

We investigate the tensor product representation of the 4-dimensional grade star representation for the fixed point subsuperalgebra $U_q[osp(2|2)]$. In [ZH], R.B. Zhang found a way to link certain formal deformations of the Lie algebra o(2l+1) and the Lie superalgebra osp(1,2l). The aim of this article is to reformulate the Zhang transformation in the context of the quantum enveloping algebras "à la" Drinfeld-Jimbo and to show how this construction can explain the main theorem of [GL2]: the annihilator of a Verma module over the Lie superalgebra osp(1,2l) is generated by its intersection with the centralizer of the even part of the enveloping algbra.

We study Yang-Baxter equations with orthosymplectic supersymmetry. We extend a new approach of the construction of the spinor and metaplectic $\hat{\cal R}$-operators with orthogonal and symplectic symmetries to the supersymmetric case of orthosymplectic symmetry. In this approach the orthosymplectic $\hat{\cal R}$-operator is given by the ratio of two operator valued Euler Gamma-functions. We describe the realization of the super Reshetikhin-Semenov-Tian-Shansky (RS) algebra in quantum affine superalgebras, thus generalizing the approach of Frenkel-Reshetikhin to the supersymmetric (and twisted) case. We study the Howe dualities involving the reductive dual pairs $(O(d),spo(2m|2n))$ and $(Sp(d),osp(2m|2n))$ on the (super)symmetric tensor of $\C^d\otimes\C^{m|n}$. We obtain complete decompositions of this space with respect to their respective joint actions. We also use these dualities to derive a character formula for these irreducible representations of $spo(2m|2n)$ and $osp(2m|2n)$ that appear in these decompositions.

The general method of Reshetikhin and Turaev is followed to develop topological invariants of closed, connected, orientable 3-manifolds from a new class of algebras called pseudo-modular Hopf algebras. Pseudo-modular Hopf algebras are a class of Z_2-graded ribbon Hopf algebras that generalise the concept of a modular Hopf algebra. We introduce a subalgebra $\overline F$ of the Clifford vertex superalgebra ($bc$ system) which is completely reducible as a $L^{Vir} (-2,0)$-module, $C_2$-cofinite, but it is not conformal and it is not isomorphic to the symplectic fermion algebra $\mathcal{SF}(1)$. Modules over affine Lie superalgebras ${\cal G}$ are studied, in particular, for ${\cal G}=\hat{OSP(1,2)}$. It is shown that on studying Verma modules, much of the results in Kac-Moody algebra can be generalized to the super case. Of most importance are the generalized Kac-Kazhdan formula and the Malikov-Feigin-Fuchs construction, which give the weights and the explicit form of the singular vectors in the Verma module over affine Kac-Moody superalgebras. The $\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z}$--graded intertwining operators are introduced. We study these operators in the case of ``degenerate'' N=1 minimal models, with the central charge $c=3/2$. The corresponding fusion ring is isomorphic to the Grothendieck ring for the Lie superalgebra ${\mathfrak osp}(1|2)$. We also discus multiplicity--2 fusion rules and logarithmic intertwiners.

We first establish Clebsch-Gordan decomposition for the superalgebra U_q[osp(1/2)] in which the representations having no classical counterparts are incorporated. We construct all the irreducible representations of spin quiver Hecke algebras for orthosymplectic Lie superalgebras $osp(1|2n),$ and show that their highest weights are given by the dominant words. We use the dominant Lyndon words to construct the cuspidal modules and show that the irreducible representations are the simple heads of standard representations constructed by induction from the cuspidal modules.
