In this paper, we use the Riemann-Liouville fractional integrals to establish some new integral inequalities of Ostrowski-Grüss type. From our results, the classical Ostrowski-Grüss type inequalities can be deduced as some special cases.
In this paper, we improve and further generalize some Ostrowski-Grüss type inequalities for the fractional integrals by using new Montogomery identities.
Several inequalities of Ostrowski-Gruss-type availabe in the literature are generalized by considering the weighted case of them. Involving the least concave majorant of the modulus of continuity we provide upper error bounds of such inequalities.
Some new counterparts of Bessel's inequality for orthornormal families in real or complex inner product spaces are pointed out. Applications for some Gruss type inequalities are also empahsized.
A new counterpart of Bessel's inequality for orthornormal families in real or complex inner product spaces is obtained. Applications for some Gruss type results are also provided.
We study functional inequality of the form $$|T(f,h)-T(f,g)T(g,h)| \leq F(f,g)F(g,h) -F(f,h)$$ where $T$ is a complex-valued functional and $F$ is a real-valued map. Motivation for our studies comes from some generalizations of Grüss inequality.
We prove a more general version of the Gruss inequality by using the recent theory of combined dynamic derivatives on time scales and the more general notions of diamond-alpha derivative and integral. For the particular case when alpha = 1, one gets a delta-integral Gruss inequality on time scales; for alpha = 0 a nabla-integral Gruss inequality. If we further restrict ourselves by fixing the time scale to the real (or integer) numbers, then the standard continuous (discrete) inequalities are obtained.
The classical form of Grüss' inequality, first published by G. Grüss in 1935, gives an estimate of the difference between the integral of the product and the product of the integrals of two functions. In the subsequent years, many variants of this inequality appeared in the literature. The aim of this paper is to introduce a different approach, presenting a new Chebyshev-Grüss-type inequality and applying it to different well-known linear, not necessarily positive, operators. Some conjectures are presented as well. We also compare the new inequalities with some older results. This new approach…
In this paper, using a fractional integral as proposed by Katugampola we establish a generalization of integral inequalities of Gruss-type. We prove two theorems associated with these inequalities and then immediately we enunciate and prove others inequalities associated with these fractional operator.
The main aim of this monograph is to survey some recent results obtained by the author related to reverses of the Schwarz, triangle and Bessel inequalities. Some Gruss' type inequalities for orthonormal families of vectors in real or complex inner product spaces are presented as well. Generalizations of the Boas-Bellman, Bombieri, Selberg, Heilbronn and Pecaric inequalities for finite sequences of vectors that are not necessarily orthogonal are also provided. Two extensions of the celebrated Ostrowski's inequalities for sequences or real numbers and the generalization of Wagner's inequality in…
We prove generalized weighted Ostrowski and Ostrowski--Grüss type inequalities on time scales via a parameter function. In particular, our result extends a result of Dragomir and Barnett. Furthermore, we apply our results to the continuous, discrete, and quantum cases, to obtain some interesting new inequalities.
In this work, an extension of two-point Ostrowski's formula for $n$-times differentiable functions is proved. A generalization of Taylor formula is deduced. An identity of Fink type for this extension is provided. Error estimates for the considered formulas are also given. Two-point Ostrowski-Gruss type inequalities are pointed out. An expansion of Guessab--Schmeisser two points formula for $n$-times differentiable functions via Fink type identity is established. Generalization of the main result for harmonic sequence of polynomials is established. Several bounds of the presented results are p…
A counterpart of the famous Bessel's inequality for orthornormal families in real or complex inner product spaces is given. Applications for some Gruss type inequalities are also provided.
The concept of Riemann-Stieltjes integral $\int_a^b {f\left( t \right)du\left( t \right)}$; where $f$ is called the integrand, $u$ is called the integrator, plays an important role in Mathematics. The approximation problem of the Riemann-Stieltjes integral $\int_a^b {f\left( t \right)du\left( t \right)}$ in terms of the Riemann-Stieltjes sums have been considered recently by many authors. However, a small attention and a few works have been considered for mappings of two variables; i.e., The approximation problem of the Riemann-Stieltjes double integral $\int_a^b {\int_c^d {f\left( {t,s} \righ…
In this work, a generalization of Chebyshev functional is presented. New inequalities of Gruss type via Pompeiu's mean value theorem are established. Improvements of some old inequalities are proved. A generalization of pre-Gruss inequality is elaborated. Some remarks to further generalization of Chebyshev functional are presented. As applications, bounds for the reverse of CBS inequality are deduced. Hardy type inequalities on bounded real interval [a,b] under some other circumstances are introduced. Other related ramified inequalities for differentiable functions are also given.
For a probability measure $μ$ and for square integrable fields $(\mathscr{A}_t)$ and $(\mathscr{B}_t)$ ($t\inΩ$) of commuting normal operators we prove Landau type inequality \llu\int_Ω\mathscr{A}_tX\mathscr{B}_tdμ(t)- \int_Ω\mathscr{A}_t\,dμ(t)X \int_Ω\mathscr{B}_t\,dμ(t) \rru \le \llu \sqrt{\,\int_Ω|\mathscr{A}_t|^2\dt-|\int_Ω\mathscr{A}_t\dt|^2}X \sqrt{\,\int_Ω|\mathscr{B}_t|^2 \dt-|\int_Ω\mathscr{B}_t\dt|^2} \rru for all $X\in\mathcalb{B}(\mathcal{H})$ and for all unitarily invariant norms $\lluo\cdot\rruo$. For Schatten $p$-norms similar inequalities are given for arbitrary double square …
We derive Taylor's Formula for conformable fractional derivatives. This is then employed to extend some recent and classical integral inequalities to the conformable fractional calculus, including the inequalities of Steffensen, Chebychev, Hermite-Hadamard, Ostrowski, and Gruss.
In this paper, new sharp weighted generalizations of Ostrowski and generalized trapezoid type inequalities for the Riemann--Stieltjes integrals are proved. Several related inequalities are deduced and investigated. New Simpson's type inequalities for $\mathcal{RS}$--integral are pointed out. Finally, as application; an error estimation of a general quadrature rule for $\mathcal{RS}$--integral via Ostrowski--generalized trapezoid quadrature formula is given.
We show that a differential version of the classical Chebyshev-Markov-Stieltjes inequalities holds for a broad family of weight functions. Such a differential version appears to be new. Our results apply to weight functions which are bounded away from zero and piecewise absolutely continuous and yield effective estimates when the weight satisfies additional regularity conditions.
We prove dynamic inequalities of majorisation type for functions on time scales. The results are obtained using the notion of Riemann-Stieltjes delta integral and give a generalization of [App. Math. Let. 22 (2009), no. 3, 416--421] to time scales.
In this work, Lp-error estimates of general two and three point quadrature rules for Riemann-Stieltjes integrals are give n. The presented proofs depend on new triangle type inequalities of Riemann-Stieltjes integrals
Assuming a unitarily invariant norm $|||\cdot|||$ is given on a two-sided ideal of bounded linear operators acting on a separable Hilbert space, it induces some unitarily invariant norms $|||\cdot|||$ on matrix algebras $\mathcal{M}_n$ for all finite values of $n$ via $|||A|||=|||A\oplus 0|||$. We show that if $\mathscr{A}$ is a $C^*$-algebra of finite dimension $k$ and $Φ: \mathscr{A} \to \mathcal{M}_n$ is a unital completely positive map, then \begin{equation*} |||Φ(AB)-Φ(A)Φ(B)||| \leq \frac{1}{4} |||I_{n}|||\,|||I_{kn}||| d_A d_B \end{equation*} for any $A,B \in \mathscr{A}$, where $d_X$ d…
The paper gives a parametrization of the solution set of a matricial Stieltjes-type truncated power moment problem in the non-degenerate and degenerate cases. The key role plays the solution of the corresponding system of Potapov's fundamental matrix inequalities.
We obtain a characterization of generalized Stieltjes functions of any order λ> 0 in terms of inequalities for their derivatives on (0,\infty). When λ=1, this provides a new and simple proof of a characterization of Stieltjes functions first obtained by Widder in 1938.
We find an integral representation for the generalized hypergeometric function unifying known representations via generalized Stieltjes, Laplace and cosine Fourier transforms. Using positivity conditions for the weight in this representation we establish various new facts regarding generalized hypergeometric functions, including complete monotonicity, log-convexity in upper parameters, monotonicity of ratios and new proofs of Luke's bounds. Besides, we derive two-sided inequalities for the Bessel type hypergeometric functions by using their series representations.
In our previous work we found sufficient conditions to be imposed on the parameters of the generalized hypergeometric function in order that it be completely monotonic or of Stieltjes class. In this paper we collect a number of consequences of these properties. In particular, we find new integral representations of the generalized hypergeometric functions, evaluate a number of integrals of their products, compute the jump and the average value of the the generalized hypergeometric function over the branch cut, establish new inequalities for this function in the half plane Re(z)<1. Furthermore,…
We write expressions connected with numerical differentiation formulas of order $2$ in the form of Stieltjes integral, then we use Ohlin lemma and Levin-Stechkin theorem to study inequalities connected with these expressions. In particular, we present a new proof of the inequality \begin{equation} \label{Dr} f\left(\frac{x+y}{2}\right)\leq\frac{1}{(y-x)^2}\int_x^y\hspace{-2mm}\int_x^yf\left(\frac{s+t}{2}\right)ds\:dt \leq\frac{1}{y-x}\int_x^yf(t)dt \end{equation} satisfied by every convex function $f:\R\to\R$ and we obtain extensions of \rf{Dr}. Then we deal with nonsymmetric inequalities of a…
In this paper we characterize the validity of the Hardy-type inequality \begin{equation*} \left\|\left\|\int_s^{\infty}h(z)dz\right\|_{p,u,(0,t)}\right\|_{q,w,\infty}\leq c \,\|h\|_{1,v,\infty} \end{equation*} where $0<p< \infty$, $0<q\leq +\infty$, $u$, $w$ and $v$ are weight functions on $(0,\infty)$. It is pointed out that this characterization can be used to obtain new characterizations for the boundedness between weighted Lebesgue spaces for Hardy-type operators restricted to the cone of monotone functions and for the generalized Stieltjes operator.
Our aim in this paper is to derive several new integral representations of the Fox-Wright functions. In particular, we give new Laplace and Stieltjes transform for this special functions under a special restriction on parameters. From the positivity conditions for the weight in these representations, we found sufficient conditions to be imposed on the parameters of the Fox-Wright functions that it be completely monotonic. As applications, we derive a class of function related to the Fox H-functions is positive definite and an investigation of a class of the Fox H-function is non-negative. More…
