The Hopf algebra generated by the l-functionals on the quantum double C_q[G] \bowtie C_q[G] is considered, where C_q[G] is the coordinate algebra of a standard quantum group and q is not a root of unity. It is shown to be isomorphic to C_q[G]^op \bowtie U_q(g). This was conjectured by T. Hodges in [Ho]. As an algebra it can be embedded into U_q(g) \otimes U_q(g). Here it is proven that there is no bialgebra structure on U_q(g) \otimes U_q(g), for which this embedding becomes a homomorphism of bialgebras. In particular, it is not an isomorphism. As a preliminary a lemma of [Ho] concerning the structure of l-functionals on C_q[G] is generalized. For the classical groups a certain choice of root vectors is expressed in terms of l-functionals. A formula for their coproduct is derived.
For every element w in the Weyl group of a simple Lie algebra g, De Concini, Kac, and Procesi defined a subalgebra U_q^w of the quantized universal enveloping algebra U_q(g). The algebra U_q^w is a deformation of the universal enveloping algebra U(n_+\cap w.n_-). We construct smash products of certain finite-type De Concini-Kac-Procesi algebras to obtain ones of affine type; we have analogous constructions in types A_n and D_n. We show that the multiplication in the affine type De Concini-Kac-Procesi algebras arising from this smash product construction can be twisted by a cocycle to produce c…
De Concini, Kac, and Procesi defined a family of subalgebras Uq[w] of the quantized enveloping algebra Uq(g) associated to elements w in the Weyl group of a simple Lie algebra g. These algebras are called quantum Schubert cell algebras. We show that, up to a mild cocycle twist, quotients of certain quantum Schubert cell algebras of types E_6 and E_6^{(1)} map isomorphically onto distinguished subalgebras of the Faddeev-Reshetikhin-Takhtajan universal bialgebra associated to the braiding on the quantum half-spin representation of Uq(so_{10}). We identify the quotients as those obtained by facto…
Two "quantum enveloping algebras", here denoted by $U(R)$ and $U^{\sim}(R)$, are associated in [FRTa] and [FRTb] to any Yang-Baxter operator R. The latter is only a bialgebra, in general; the former is a Hopf algebra. In this paper, we study the pointed Hopf algebras $U(R_Q)$, where $R_Q$ is the Yang-Baxter operator associated with the multi-parameter deformation of $GL_n$ supplied in [AST]; cf also [S,Re]. Some earlier results concerning these Hopf algebras $U(R_Q)$ were obtained in [To,CLMT,CM]; a related (but different) Hopf algebra was studied in [DP]. The main new results obtained here co…
Fully braided analog of Faddeev-Reshetikhin-Takhtajan construction of quasitriangular bialgebra $A(X,R)$ is proposed. For given pairing $C$ factor-algebra $A(X,R;C)$ is a dual quantum braided group. Corresponding inhomogeneous quantum group is obtained as a result of generalized bosonization. Construction of first order bicovariant differential calculus is proposed.
Generators and relations are given for the subalgebra of cocommutative elements in the quantized coordinate rings of the classical groups, where the deformation parameter q is transcendental. This is a ring theoretic formulation of the well known fact that the representation theory of the quantized group is completely analogous to its classical counterpart. The subalgebras of cocommutative elements in the corresponding FRT-bialgebras (defined by Faddeev, Reshetikhin, and Takhtadzhyan) are explicitly determined, using a bialgebra embedding of the FRT-bialgebra into the tensor product of the qua…
In the classification of Hietarinta, three triangular $4\times 4$ $R$-matrices lead, via the FRT formalism, to matrix bialgebras which are not deformations of the trivial one. In this paper, we find the bialgebras which are in duality with these three exotic matrix bialgebras. We note that the $L-T$ duality of FRT is not sufficient for the construction of the bialgebras in duality. We find also the quantum planes corresponding to these bialgebras both by the Wess-Zumino R-matrix method and by Manin's method.
Quantum universal enveloping algebras, quantum elliptic algebras and double (deformed) Yangians provide fundamental algebraic structures relevant for many integrable systems. They are described in the FRT formalism by R-matrices which are solutions of elliptic, trigonometric or rational type of the Yang--Baxter equation with spectral parameter or its generalization known as the Gervais--Neveu--Felder equation. While quantum groups and double Yangians appear as quasi-triangular Hopf algebras, this is no longer the case for elliptic algebras and the various deformations of Yangian type algebras.…
Some duality properties for induced representations of enveloping algebras involve the character $Trad_{\goth g}$. We extend them to deformation Hopf algebras $A_{h}$ of a noetherian Hopf $k$-algebra $A_{0}$ satistying $Ext^{i}_{A_{0}}(k, A_{0})=\{0\}$ except for $i=d$ where it is isomorphic to $k$. These duality properties involve the character of $A_{h}$ defined by right multiplication on the one dimensional free $k[[h]]$-module $Ext^{d}_{A_{h}} (k[[h]], A_{h})$. In the case of quantized enveloping algebras, this character lifts the character $Trad_{\goth g}$. We also prove Poincar{é} dualit…
The dually conjugate Hopf algebras $Fun_{p,q}(R)$ and $U_{p,q}(R)$ associated with the two-parametric $(p,q)$-Alexander-Conway solution $(R)$ of the Yang-Baxter equation are studied. Using the Hopf duality construction, the full Hopf structure of the quasitriangular enveloping algebra $U_{p,q}(R)$ is extracted. The universal ${\cal T}$-matrix for $Fun_{p,q}(R)$ is derived. While expressing an arbitrary group element of the quantum group characterized by the noncommuting parameters in a representation independent way, the ${\cal T}$-matrix generalizes the familiar exponential relation between a…
We extend the notion of dually conjugate Hopf (super)algebras to the coloured Hopf (super)algebras ${\cal H}^c$ that we recently introduced. We show that if the standard Hopf (super)algebras ${\cal H}_q$ that are the building blocks of ${\cal H}^c$ have Hopf duals ${\cal H}_q^*$, then the latter may be used to construct coloured Hopf duals ${\cal H}^{c*}$, endowed with coloured algebra and antipode maps, but with a standard coalgebraic structure. Next, we review the case where the ${\cal H}_q$'s are quantum universal enveloping algebras of Lie (super)algebras $U_q(g)$, so that the correspondin…
We give proofs of the PBW and duality theorems for the quantum Kac-Moody algebras and quantum current algebras, relying on Lie bialgebra duality. We also show that the classical limit of the quantum current algebras associated with an untwisted affine Cartan matrix is the enveloping algebra of a quotient of the corresponding toroidal algebra; this quotient is trivial in all cases except the $A_1^{(1)}$ case.
Associated to each subset $J$ of the nodes $I$ of a Dynkin diagram is a triangular decomposition of the corresponding Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ into three subalgebras $\widetilde{\mathfrak{g}_{J}}$ (generated by $e_{j}$, $f_{j}$ for $j\in J$ and $h_{i}$ for $i\in I$), $\mathfrak{n}^{-}_{D}$ (generated by $f_{d}$, $d\in D=I\setminus J$) and its dual $\mathfrak{n}_{D}^{+}$. We demonstrate a quantum counterpart, generalising work of Majid and Rosso, by exhibiting analogous triangular decompositions of $U_{q}(\mathfrak{g})$ and identifying a graded braided Hopf algebra that quantizes $\mathfrak{n…
Motivated by partial group actions on unital algebras, in this article we extend many results obtained by Exel and Dokuchaev to the context of partial actions of Hopf algebras, according to Caenepeel and Jansen. First, we generalize the theorem about the existence of an enveloping action, also known as the globalization theorem. Second, we construct a Morita context between the partial smash product and the smash product related to the enveloping action. Third, we dualize the globalization theorem to partial coactions and finally, we define partial representations of Hopf algebras and show som…
We define a natural concept of duality for the h-Hopf algebroids introduced by Etingof and Varchenko. We prove that the special case of the trigonometric SL(2) dynamical quantum group is self-dual, and may therefore be viewed as a deformation both of the function algebra F(SL(2)) and of the enveloping algebra U(sl(2)). Matrix elements of the self-duality in the Peter-Weyl basis are 6j-symbols; this leads to a new algebraic interpretation of the hexagon identity or quantum dynamical Yang-Baxter equation for quantum and classical 6j-symbols.
It is known that a generalized $q$-Schur algebra may be constructed as a quotient of a quantized enveloping algebra $\UU$ or its modified form $\dot{\UU}$. On the other hand, we show here that both $\UU$ and $\dot{\UU}$ may be constructed within an inverse limit of a certain inverse system of generalized $q$-Schur algebras. Working within the inverse limit $\hat{\UU}$ clarifies the relation between $\dot{\UU}$ and $\UU$. This inverse limit is a $q$-analogue of the linear dual $R[G]^*$ of the coordinate algebra of a corresponding linear algebraic group $G$.
We study quantization of a class of inhomogeneous Lie bialgebras which are crossproducts in dual sectors with Abelian invariant parts. This class forms a category stable under dualization and the double operations. The quantization turns out to be a functor commuting with them. The Hopf operations and the universal R-matrices are given in terms of generators. The quantum algebras obtained appear to be isomorphic to the universal enveloping Poisson-Lie algebras on the dual groups.
We prove the tensor product decomposition of the half of quantized universal enveloping algebra associated with a Weyl group element which was conjectured by Berenstein and Greenstein.
Let (S,L) be a Lie-Rinehart algebra over a commutative ring R. This article proves that, if S is flat as an R-module and has Van den Bergh duality in dimension n, and if L is finitely generated and projective with constant rank d as an S-module, then the enveloping algebra of (S,L) has Van den Bergh duality in dimension n+d. When, moreover, S is Calabi-Yau and the d-th exterior power of L is free over S, the article proves that the enveloping algebra is skew-Calabi-Yau, and it describes a Nakayama automorphism of it. These considerations are specialised to Poisson enveloping algebras. They are…
We introduce a notion of I-factorial quantum torsor, which consists of an integrable ergodic action of a locally compact quantum group on a type I-factor such that also the crossed product is a type I-factor. We show that any such I-factorial quantum torsor is at the same time a I-factorial quantum torsor for the dual locally compact quantum group, in such a way that the construction is involutive. As a motivating example, we show that quantized compact semisimple Lie groups, when amplified via a crossed product construction with the function algebra on the associated weight lattice, admit I-f…
The extension of FRT quantization theory for the nonsemisimple CK groups is suggested. The quantum orthogonal CK groups are realized as the Hopf algebras of the noncommutative functions over an associative algebras with nilpotent commutative generators. The quantum CK algebras are obtained as the dual objects to the corresponding quantum groups.
Let R be a 1-dimensional integral domain, let h (non-zero) be a prime element, and let \HA be the category of torsionless Hopf algebras over R. We call H in \HA a "quantized function algebra" (=QFA), resp. "quantized restricted universal enveloping algebras" (=QrUEA), at h if H/hH is the function algebra of a connected Poisson group, resp. the (restricted, if R/hR has positive characteristic) universal enveloping algebra of a (restricted) Lie bialgebra. An "inner" Galois correspondence on \HA is established via the definition of two endofunctors, ( )^\vee and ( )', of \HA such that: (a) the im…
The Drinfeld twist is applyed to deforme the rank one orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra $osp(1|2)$. The twist element is the same as for the $sl(2)$ Lie algebra due to the embedding of the $sl(2)$ into the superalgebra $osp(1|2)$. The R-matrix has the direct sum structure in the irreducible representations of $osp(1|2)$. The dual quantum group is defined using the FRT-formalism. It includes the Jordanian quantum group $SL_ξ(2)$ as subalgebra and Grassmann generators as well.
The similarity transformations of quantum orthogonal groups are developed and FRT theory is reformulated to the Cartesian basis. The quantum orthogonal Cayley-Klein groups are introduced as the algebra functions over an associative algebra with the nilpotent generators. The quantum orthogonal Cayley-Klein algebras are obtained as the dual objects to the corresponding quantum groups.
We find a dual version of a previous double-bosonisation theorem whereby each finite-dimensional braided-Hopf algebra $B$ in the category of comodules of a coquasitriangular Hopf algebra $A$ has an associated coquasitriangular Hopf algebra $B^{\underline{\rm op}}\rtimes A \ltimes B^*$. As an application we find new generators for $c_q[SL_{2}]$ reduced at $q$ a primitive odd root of unity with the remarkable property that their monomials are essentially a dual basis to the standard PBW basis of the reduced Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum enveloping algebra $u_q(sl_{2})$. Our methods apply in principle f…
Let R be an integral domain, h non-zero in R such that R/hR is a field, and HA the category of torsionless (or flat) Hopf algebras over R. We call any H in HA "quantized function algebra" (=QFA), resp. "quantized (restricted) universal enveloping algebra" (=QrUEA), at h if H/hH is the function algebra of a connected Poisson group, resp. the (restricted, if R/hR has positive characteristic) universal enveloping algebra of a (restricted) Lie bialgebra. We establish an "inner" Galois' correspondence on HA, via the definition of two endofunctors, ()^\vee and ()', of HA such that: (a) the image of …
The Cuntz algebra carries in a natural way the structure of a module algebra over the quantized universal enveloping algebra $U_q(g)$, and the structure of a co-module algebra over the quantum group $G_q$ associated with $U_q(g)$. These two algebraic structures are dual to each other via the duality between $G_q$ and $U_q(g)$.
Consider any representation $ϕ$ of a finite-dimensional Lie algebra $g$ by derivations of the completed symmetric algebra $\hat{S}(g^*)$ of its dual. Consider the tensor product of $\hat{S}(g^*)$ and the exterior algebra $Λ(g)$. We show that the representation $ϕ$ extends canonically to the representation $\tildeϕ$ of that tensor product algebra. We construct an exterior derivative on that algebra, giving rise to a twisted version of the exterior differential calculus with the enveloping algebra in the role of the coordinate algebra. In this twisted version, the commutators between the noncomm…
We studied both the double cross product and the bicrossproduct constructions for the Hom-Hopf algebras of general $(α,β)$-type. This allows us to consider the universal enveloping Hom-Hopf algebras of Hom-Lie algebras, which are of $(α,{\rm Id})$-type. We show that the universal enveloping Hom-Hopf algebras of a matched pair of Hom-Lie algebras form a matched pair of Hom-Hopf algebras. We observe also that, the semi-dualization of a double cross product Hom-Hopf algebra is a bicrossproduct Hom-Hopf algebra. In particular, we apply this result to the universal enveloping Hom-Hopf algebras of a…
Inspired by a result in [Ga], we locate two $ k[q,q^{-1}] $-integer forms of $ F_q[SL(n+1)] $, along with a presentation by generators and relations, and prove that for $ q=1 $ they specialize to $ U({\mathfrak{h}}) $, where $ {\mathfrak{h}} $ is the Lie bialgebra of the Poisson Lie group $ H $ dual of $ SL(n+1) $; moreover, we explain the relation with [loc. cit.]. In sight of this, we prove two PBW-like theorems for $ F_q[SL(n+1)] $, both related to the classical PBW theorem for $ U({\mathfrak{h}}) $.
Some filtrations of the tensor product of a highest weight module and a lowest weight module over quantum group $U_q(\mathfrak g)$ are constructed in \cite{LZ:2009} and one can use them to define some ideals of the modified quantized enveloping algebra. It is shown that the quotient algebras inherit canonical bases from the modified quantized enveloping algebra and are dual to the quantum coordinate ring defined by Kashiwara for symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebra $\mathfrak g$.
We study general properties of Hodge-type decompositions of cyclic and Hochschild homology of universal enveloping algebras of (DG) Lie algebras. Our construction generalizes the operadic construction of cyclic homology of Lie algebras due to Getzler and Kapranov. We give a topological interpretation of such Lie Hodge decompositions in terms of $S^1$-equivariant homology of the free loop space of a simply connected topological space. We prove that the canonical derived Poisson structure on a universal enveloping algebra arising from a cyclic pairing on the Koszul dual coalgebra preserves the H…
A review of the multiparametric linear quantum group GL_qr(N), its real forms, its dual algebra U(gl_qr(N)) and its bicovariant differential calculus is given in the first part of the paper. We then construct the (multiparametric) linear inhomogeneous quantum group IGL_qr(N) as a projection from GL_qr(N+1), or equivalently, as a quotient of GL_qr(N+1) with respect to a suitable Hopf algebra ideal. A bicovariant differential calculus on IGL_qr(N) is explicitly obtained as a projection from the one on GL_qr(N+1). Our procedure unifies in a single structure the quantum plane coordinates and the q…
The "quantum duality principle" states that the quantization of a Lie bialgebra - via a quantum universal enveloping algebra (QUEA) - provides also a quantization of the dual Lie bialgebra (through its associated formal Poisson group) - via a quantum formal series Hopf algebra (QFSHA) - and, conversely, a QFSHA associated to a Lie bialgebra (via its associated formal Poisson group) yields a QUEA for the dual Lie bialgebra as well; more precisely, there exist functors QUEA --> QFSHA and QFSHA --> QUEA, inverse of each other, such that in either case the Lie bialgebra associated to the target ob…
We give a complete classification of bicovariant first order differential calculi on the quantum enveloping algebra U_q(b+) which we view as the quantum function algebra C_q(B+). Here, b+ is the Borel subalgebra of sl_2. We do the same in the classical limit q->1 and obtain a one-to-one correspondence in the finite dimensional case. It turns out that the classification is essentially given by finite subsets of the positive integers. We proceed to investigate the classical limit from the dual point of view, i.e. with ``function algebra'' U(b+) and ``enveloping algebra'' C(B+). In this case ther…
For the quantized universal enveloping algebra U_h(g_X) associated with a continuous Kac-Moody algebra g_X as in [A. Appel, F. Sala, "Quantization of continuum Kac-Moody algebras", Pure Appl. Math. Q. 16 (2020), no. 3, 439-493], we prove that a suitable formulation of the Quantum Duality Principle holds true, both in a "formal" version - i.e., applying to the original definition of U_h(g_X) as a formal QUEA over the algebra of formal series in h - and in a "polynomial" one - i.e., for a suitable polynomial form of U_h(g_X) over the algebra of Laurent polynomials in q. In both cases, the QDP st…
We propose in this thesis a new deformation process of Kac-Moody algebras and their representations. The direction of deformation is given by a collection of numbers, called a colouring. The natural numbers lead for example to the classical algebras, while the quantum numbers lead to the associated quantum algebras. We first establish sufficient and necessary conditions on colourings to allow the process depend polynomially on a formal parameter and to provide the generalised quantum enveloping (GQE) algebras. We then lift the restrictions and show that the process still exists via the coloure…
We construct an universal enveloping algebra associated to the ternary extension of Lie (super)algebras called Lie algebra of order three. A Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt theorem is proven is this context. It this then shown that this universal enveloping algebra can be endowed with a structure of Hopf algebra. The study of the dual of the universal enveloping algebra enables to define the parameters of the transformation of a Lie algebra of order three. It turns out that these variables are the variables which generate the three-exterior algebra.
New deformations of the Poincare group $Fun(P(1+1))$ and its dual enveloping algebra $U(p(1+1))$ are obtained as a contraction of the $h$-deformed (Jordanian) quantum group $Fun(SL_h(2))$ and its dual. A nonstandard quantization of the Heisenberg algebra $U(h(1))$ is also investigated.
The dual basis of the canonical basis of the modified quantized enveloping algebra is studied, in particular for type $A$. The construction of a basis for the coordinate algebra of the $n\times n$ quantum matrices is appropriate for the study the multiplicative property. It is shown that this basis is invariant under multiplication by certain quantum minors including the quantum determinant. Then a basis of quantum SL(n) is obtained by setting the quantum determinant to one. This basis turns out to be equivalent to the dual canonical basis.
The Heisenberg double of a Hopf algebra may be regarded as a quantum analogue of the cotangent bundle of a Lie group. Quantum duality principle describes relations between a Hopf algebra, its dual, and their Heisenberg double in a way which extends both the theory of coadjoint orbits and the classical Fourier transform. We also describe the twisted Heisenberg double which is relevant for the study of nontrivial deformations of the quantized universal enveloping algebras.
The exotic bialgebra S03, defined by a solution of the Yang-Baxter equation, which is not a deformation of the trivial, is considered. Its FRT dual algebra $s03_F$ is studied. The Baxterisation of the dual algebra is given in two different parametrisations. The finite-dimensional representations of $s03_F$ are considered. Diagonalisations of the braid matrices are used to yield remarkable insights concerning representations of the L-algebra and to formulate the fusion of finite-dimensional representations. Possible applications are considered, in particular, an exotic eight-vertex model and an…
The article concerns the dual of Lusztig's canonical basis of a subalgebra of the positive part U_q(n) of the universal enveloping algebra of a Kac-Moody Lie algebra of type A_1^{(1)}. The examined subalgebra is associated with a terminal module M over the path algebra of the Kronecker quiver via an Weyl group element w of length four. Geiss-Leclerc-Schroeer attached to M a category C_M of nilpotent modules over the preprojective algebra of the Kronecker quiver together with an acyclic cluster algebra A(C_M). The dual semicanonical basis contains all cluster monomials. By construction, the clu…
We introduce a new algebra B_l(z,q) depending on two nonzero complex parameters such that B_l(q^n,q) at q=1 coincides with the Brauer algebra B_l(n). We establish an analog of the Brauer-Schur-Weyl duality where the action of the new algebra commutes with the representation of the twisted deformation U'_q(o_n) of the enveloping algebra U(o_n) in the tensor power of the vector representation.
Let R be an integral domain, let a non-zero h in R be such that k := R/hR is a field, and let HA be the category of torsionless (or flat) Hopf algebras over R. We call H in HA a "quantized function algebra" (=QFA), resp. "quantized restricted universal enveloping algebras" (=QrUEA), at h if - roughly speaking - H/hH is the function algebra of a connected Poisson group, resp. the (restricted, if R/hR has positive characteristic) universal enveloping algebra of a (restricted) Lie bialgebra. Extending a result of Drinfeld, we establish an "inner" Galois' correspondence on HA, via two endofunctors…
In this work, the Z$_3$-graded differential geometry of the quantum plane is constructed. The corresponding quantum Lie algebra and its Hopf algebra structure are obtained. The dual algebra, i.e. universal enveloping algebra of the quantum plane is explicitly constructed and an isomorphism between the quantum Lie algebra and the dual algebra is given.
Rosso and Green have shown how to embed the positive part $U_q(n)$ of a quantum enveloping algebra $U_q(g)$ in a quantum shuffle algebra. In this paper we study some properties of the image of the dual canonical basis $B^*$ of $U_q(n)$ under this embedding $Φ$. This is motivated by the fact that when $g$ is of type $A_r$, the elements of $Φ(B^*)$ are $q$-analogues of irreducible characters of the affine Iwahori-Hecke algebras attached to the groups $GL(m)$ over a $p$-adic field.
We describe semiinfinite cohomology of associative algebras in terms of Koszul (or bar) duality. Consider an associative algebra $A$ and two its subalgebras $B$ and $N$ such that $A=B\otimes N$ as a vector space. We prove that the endomorphism algebra of the semiregular $A$-module appears naturally in semiinfinite cohomology theory as a ``two times Koszul dual'' to the algebra $A$. We compare semiinfinite cohomology of universal enveloping algebras with the well-known Lie algebra semiinfinite cohomology. A new description of the critical 2-cocycle is provided. As a consequence we obtain anothe…
Partial actions of Hopf algebras can be considered as a generalization of partial actions of groups on algebras. Among important properties of partial Hopf actions, it is possible to prove the existence of enveloping actions, i.e., every partial Hopf action on a algebra A is induced by a Hopf action on a algebra B that contains A as a right ideal. This globalization theorem allows to extend several results from the theory of partial group actions to the Hopf algebraic setting. In this article, we prove a dual version of the globalization theorem: that every partial coaction of a Hopf algebra a…
We give functorial recipes to get, out of any Hopf algebra over a field, two pairs of Hopf algebras which have some geometrical content. When the ground field has characteristic zero, the first pair is made by a function algebra over a connected Poisson group and a universal enveloping algebra over a Lie bialgebra. In addition, the Poisson group as a variety is an affine space, and the Lie bialgebra as a Lie algebra is graded. Forgetting these last details, the second pair is of the same type. When the Hopf algebra H we start from is already of geometric type the result involves Poisson dualit…
Given a finite-dimensional Lie algebra, and a representation by derivations on the completed symmetric algebra of its dual, a number of interesting twisted constructions appear: certain twisted Weyl algebras, deformed Leibniz rules, quantized ``star'' product. We first illuminate a number of interrelations between these constructions and then proceed to study a special case in certain precise sense corresponding to the symmetric or Weyl ordering. This case has been known earlier to be related to computations with Hausdorff series, for example the expression for the star product is in such term…
Coloured Hopf algebras, related to the coloured Yang-Baxter equation, are reviewed, as well as their duals. The special case of coloured quantum universal enveloping algebras provides a coloured extension of Drinfeld and Jimbo formalism. The universal $\cal T$-matrix is then generalized to the coloured context, and shown to lead to an algebraic formulation of the coloured RTT-relations, previously proposed by Basu-Mallick as part of a coloured extension of Faddeev, Reshetikhin, and Takhtajan approach to quantum groups and quantum algebras.
For a Hopf algebra A, we define the structures of differential complexes on two dual exterior Hopf algebras: 1) an exterior extension of A and 2) an exterior extension of the dual algebra A^*. The Heisenberg double of these two exterior Hopf algebras defines the differential algebra for the Cartan differential calculus on A. The first differential complex is an analog of the de Rham complex. In the situation when A^* is a universal enveloping of a Lie (super)algebra the second complex coincides with the standard complex. The differential is realized as an (anti)commutator with a BRST- operator…
De Concini, Kac and Procesi defined a family of subalgebras U^w_+ of a quantized universal enveloping algebra U_q(g), associated to the elements of the corresponding Weyl group W. They are deformations of the universal enveloping algebras U(n_+ \cap Ad_w(n_-)) where n_\pm are the nilradicals of a pair of dual Borel subalgebras. Based on results of Gorelik and Joseph and an interpretation of U^w_+ as quantized algebras of functions on Schubert cells, we construct explicitly the H invariant prime ideals of each U^w_+ and show that the corresponding poset is isomorphic to W^{\leq w}, where H is t…
Quantum Lie algebras $\qlie{g}$ are non-associative algebras which are embedded into the quantized enveloping algebras $U_q(g)$ of Drinfeld and Jimbo in the same way as ordinary Lie algebras are embedded into their enveloping algebras. The quantum Lie product on $\qlie{g}$ is induced by the quantum adjoint action of $U_q(g)$. We construct the quantum Lie algebras associated to $U_q(gl_n)$ and $U_q(sl_n)$. We determine the structure constants and the quantum root systems, which are now functions of the quantum parameter $q$. They exhibit an interesting duality symmetry under $q\leftrightarrow 1…
We address the problem of duality between the coloured extension of the quantised algebra of functions on a group and that of its quantised universal enveloping algebra i.e. its dual. In particular, we derive explicitly the algebra dual to the coloured extension of GL_q(2) using the coloured RLL relations and exhibit its Hopf structure. This leads to a coloured generalisation of the R-matrix procedure to construct a bicovariant differential calculus on the coloured version of GL_q(2). In addition, we also propose a coloured generalisation of the geometric approach to quantum group duality give…
