Given a self-adjoint operator $A:D(A)\subseteq\calH\to\calH$ and a continuous linear operator $τ:D(A)\to\X$ with Range$ τ'\cap\calH' ={0}$, $\X$ a Banach space, we explicitly construct a family $A^τ_Θ$ of self-adjoint operators such that any $A^τ_Θ$ coincides with the original $A$ on the kernel of $τ$. Such a family is obtained by giving a Kre\uın-like formula where the role of the deficiency spaces is played by the dual pair $(\X,\X')$; the parameter $Θ$ belongs to the space of symmetric operators from $\X'$ to $\X$. When $\X=\C$ one recovers the ``$\calH_{-2}$ -construction'' of Kiselev and Simon and so, to some extent, our results can be regarded as an extension of it to the infinite rank case. Considering the situation in which $\calH=L^2(\RE^n)$ and $τ$ is the trace (restriction) operator along some null subset, we give various applications to singular perturbations of non necessarily elliptic pseudo-differential operators, thus unifying and extending previously known results.
Let $J$ and $R$ be anti-commuting fundamental symmetries in a Hilbert space $\mathfrak{H}$. The operators $J$ and $R$ can be interpreted as basis (generating) elements of the complex Clifford algebra ${\mathcal C}l_2(J,R):={span}\{I, J, R, iJR\}$. An arbitrary non-trivial fundamental symmetry from ${\mathcal C}l_2(J,R)$ is determined by the formula $J_{\vecα}=α_{1}J+α_{2}R+α_{3}iJR$, where ${\vecα}\in\mathbb{S}^2$. Let $S$ be a symmetric operator that commutes with ${\mathcal C}l_2(J,R)$. The purpose of this paper is to study the sets $Σ_{J_{\vecα}}$ ($\forall{\vecα}\in\mathbb{S}^2$) of self-a…
In the present note a functional calculus $ϕ\mapsto ϕ(A)$ for self-adjoint definitizable linear relation on Krein spaces is developed. This functional calculus is the proper analogue of $ϕ\mapsto \int ϕ\, dE$ in the Hilbert space situation. It also comprises the Spectral Theorem for self-adjoint definitizable operators on Krein spaces showing the existence of spectral projections.
We prove an analog of Krein's resolvent formula expressing the resolvents of self-adjoint extensions in terms of boundary conditions. Applications to quantum graphs and systems with point interactions are discussed.
We reconstruct the whole family of self-adjoint Hamiltonians of Ter-Martirosyan-- Skornyakov type for a system of two identical fermions coupled with a third particle of different nature through an interaction of zero range. We proceed through an operator-theoretic approach based on the self-adjoint extension theory of Krein, Visik, and Birman. We identify the explicit Krein-Visik-Birman extension parameter as an operator on the "space of charges" for this model (the "Krein space") and we come to formulate a sharp conjecture on the dimensionality of its kernel. Based on our conjecture, for whi…
Uncertainty relations between two general non-commuting self-adjoint operators are derived in a Krein space. All of these relations involve a Krein space induced fundamental symmetry operator, $J$, while some of these generalized relations involve an anti-commutator, a commutator, and various other nonlinear functions of the two operators in question. As a consequence there exist classes of non-self-adjoint operators on Hilbert spaces such that the non-vanishing of their commutator implies an uncertainty relation. All relations include the classical Heisenberg uncertainty principle as formulat…
In our previous work, we proposed a mathematical framework for PT-symmetric quantum theory, and in particular constructed a Krein space in which PT-symmetric operators would naturally act. In this work, we explore and discuss various general consequences and aspects of the theory defined in the Krein space, not only spectral property and PT symmetry breaking but also several issues, crucial for the theory to be physically acceptable, such as time evolution of state vectors, probability interpretation, uncertainty relation, classical-quantum correspondence, completeness, existence of a basis, a…
We revise Krein's extension theory of positive symmetric operators. Our approach using factorization through an auxiliary Hilbert space has several advantages: it can be applied to non-densely defined transformations and it works in both real and complex spaces. As an application of the results and the construction we consider positive self-adjoint extensions of the modulus square operator $T^*T$ of a densely defined linear transformation $T$ and bounded self-adjoint extensions of a symmetric operator. Krein's results on the uniqueness of positive (respectively, norm preserving) self-adjoint e…
It is shown that if $X$ is a unitary operator so that a singular subspace of~$U$ is unitarily equivalent to a singular subspace of~$UX$ (or $XU$), for each unitary operator~$U$, then $X$ is the identity operator. In other words, there is no nontrivial generalization of Birman-Krein Theorem that includes the preservation of a singular spectral subspace in this context.
We prove a variant of Krein's resolvent formula expressing the resolvents of self-adjoint extensions through the associated boundary conditions. Applications to solvable quantum-mechanical problems are discussed.
We use recent results on the boundary behavior of Cauchy integrals to study the Krein spectral shift of a rank one perturbation problem for self-adjoint operators. As an application, we prove that all self-adjoint rank one perturbations of a self-adjoint operator are pure point if and only if the spectrum of the operator is countable. We also study pairs of pure point operators unitarily equivalent up to a rank one perturbation and give various examples of rank one perturbations of singular spectra.
The Krein-von Neumann extension is studied for Schrödinger operators on metric graphs. Among other things, its vertex conditions are expressed explicitly, and its relation to other self-adjoint vertex conditions (e.g. continuity-Kirchhoff) is explored. A variational characterisation for its positive eigenvalues is obtained. Based on this, the behaviour of its eigenvalues under perturbations of the metric graph is investigated, and so-called surgery principles are established. Moreover, isoperimetric eigenvalue inequalities are obtained.
A self-adjoint operator $A$ in a Krein space $\bigl({\mathcal K},[\,\cdot\,,\cdot\,]\bigr)$ is called partially fundamentally reducible if there exist a fundamental decomposition ${\mathcal K} = {\mathcal K}_+ [\dot{+}] {\mathcal K}_-$ (which does not reduce $A$) and densely defined symmetric operators $S_+$ and $S_-$ in the Hilbert spaces $\bigl({\mathcal K}_+,[\,\cdot\,,\cdot\,]\bigr)$ and $\bigl({\mathcal K}_-,-[\,\cdot\,,\cdot\,]\bigr)$, respectively, such that each $S_+$ and $S_-$ has defect numbers $(1,1)$ and the operator $A$ is a self-adjoint extension of $S =S_+ \oplus (-S_-)$ in the …
M. Krein proved in 1948 that if T is a continuous operator on a normed space leaving invariant an open cone, then its adjoint T* has an eigenvector. We present generalizations of this result as well as some applications to C*-algebras, operators on l_1, operators with invariant sets, contractions on Banach lattices, the Invariant Subspace Problem, and von Neumann algebras.
In this paper, we start by showing that the intertwining relationship between two minimal Markov semigroups acting on Hilbert spaces implies that any recurrent extensions, in the sense of Itô, of these semigroups satisfy the same intertwining identity. Under mild additional assumptions on the intertwining operator, we prove that the converse also holds. This connection, which relies on the representation of excursion quantities as developed by Fitzsimmons and Getoor, enables us to give an interesting probabilistic interpretation of intertwining relationships between Markov semigroups via excur…
Let $H:D(H)\subseteq{\mathscr F}\to{\mathscr F}$ be self-adjoint and let $A:D(H)\to{\mathscr F}$ (playing the role of the annihilator operator) be $H$-bounded. Assuming some additional hypotheses on $A$ (so that the creation operator $A^{*}$ is a singular perturbation of $H$), by a twofold application of a resolvent Krein-type formula, we build self-adjoint realizations $\hat H$ of the formal Hamiltonian $H+A^{*}+A$ with $D(H)\cap D(\hat H)=\{0\}$. We give an explicit characterization of $D(\hat H)$ and provide a formula for the resolvent difference $(-\hat H+z)^{-1}-(-H+z)^{-1}$. Moreover, we…
We describe the maximal class of functions $f$ on the real line, for which the Lifshitz--Krein trace formula $\operatorname{trace}(f(A)-f(B))=\int_{\Bbb R} f'(s)\boldsymbolξ(s)\,ds$ holds for arbitrary self-adjoint operators $A$ and $B$ with $A-B$ in the trace class $\boldsymbol{S}_1$. We prove that this class of functions coincide with the class of operator Lipschitz functions.
Let $A_{Q}$ be the self-adjoint operator defined by the $Q$-function $Q:z\mapsto Q_{z}$ through the Krein-like resolvent formula $$(-A_{Q}+z)^{-1}= (-A_{0}+z)^{-1}+G_{z}WQ_{z}^{-1}VG_{\bar z}^{*}\,,\quad z\in Z_{Q}\,,$$ where $V$ and $W$ are bounded operators and $$Z_{Q}:=\{z\inρ(A_{0}):\text{$Q_{z}$ and $Q_{\bar z }$ have a bounded inverse}\}\,.$$ We show that $$Z_{Q}\not=\emptyset\quad\Longrightarrow\quad Z_{Q}=ρ(A_{0})\cap ρ(A_{Q})\,.$$ We do not suppose that $Q$ is represented in terms of a uniformly strict, operator-valued Nevanlinna function (equivalently, we do not assume that $Q$ is as…
We show that a Krein-Feller operator is naturally associated to a fixed measure $μ$, assumed positive, $σ$-finite, and non-atomic. Dual pairs of operators are introduced, carried by the two Hilbert spaces, $L^{2}\left(μ\right)$ and $L^{2}\left(λ\right)$, where $λ$ denotes Lebesgue measure. An associated operator pair consists of two specific densely defined (unbounded) operators, each one contained in the adjoint of the other. This then yields a rigorous analysis of the corresponding $μ$-Krein-Feller operator as a closable quadratic form. As an application, for a given measure $μ$, including t…
The paper is devoted to a development of the theory of self-adjoint operators in Krein spaces (J-self-adjoint operators) involving some additional properties arising from the existence of C-symmetries. The main attention is paid to the recent notion of stable C-symmetry for J-self-adjoint extensions of a symmetric operator S. The general results are specialized further by studying in detail the case where S has defect numbers <2,2>.
We revisit the Krein-von Neumann extension in the case where the underlying symmetric operator is strictly positive and apply this to derive the explicit form of the Krein-von Neumann extension for singular, general (i.e., three-coefficient) Sturm-Liouville operators on arbitrary intervals. In particular, the boundary conditions for the Krein-von Neumann extension of the strictly positive minimal Sturm-Liouville operator are explicitly expressed in terms of generalized boundary values adapted to the (possible) singularity structure of the coefficients near an interval endpoint.
The present paper is devoted to studying the Hill-type formula and Krein-type trace formula for ODE, which is a continuous work of our previous work for Hamiltonian systems \cite{HOW}. Hill-type formula and Krein-type trace formula are given by Hill at 1877 and Krein in 1950's separately. Recently, we find that there is a closed relationship between them \cite{HOW}. In this paper, we will obtain the Hill-type formula for the $S$-periodic orbits of the first order ODEs. Such a kind of orbits is considered naturally to study the symmetric periodic and quasi-periodic solutions. By some similar id…
We review some recent results of the so-called quasi-hermitian quantum mechanics, with particular focus on the quantum dynamics both in the Schrödinger and in the Heisenberg representations. The role of Krein spaces is also discussed.
In this paper it is shown that in case of trace class perturbations the singular part of Pushnitski $μ$-invariant does not depend on the angle variable. This gives an alternative proof of integer-valuedness of the singular part of the spectral shift function. As a consequence, the Birman-Krein formula for trace class perturbations follows.
We consider one-dimensional Schroedinger-type operators in a bounded interval with non-self-adjoint Robin-type boundary conditions. It is well known that such operators are generically conjugate to normal operators via a similarity transformation. Motivated by recent interests in quasi-Hermitian Hamiltonians in quantum mechanics, we study properties of the transformations in detail. We show that they can be expressed as the sum of the identity and an integral Hilbert-Schmidt operator. In the case of parity and time reversal boundary conditions, we establish closed integral-type formulae for th…
The abstract theory of self-adjoint extensions of symmetric operators is used to construct self-adjoint realizations of a second-order elliptic operator on $\mathbb{R}^{n}$ with linear boundary conditions on (a relatively open part of) a compact hypersurface. Our approach allows to obtain Krein-like resolvent formulas where the reference operator coincides with the "free" operator with domain $H^{2}(\mathbb{R}^{n})$; this provides an useful tool for the scattering problem from a hypersurface. Concrete examples of this construction are developed in connection with the standard boundary conditio…
We provide a comprehensive analysis of matrix-valued Herglotz functions and illustrate their applications in the spectral theory of self-adjoint Hamiltonian systems including matrix-valued Schrödinger and Dirac-type operators. Special emphasis is devoted to appropriate matrix-valued extensions of the well-known Aronszajn-Donoghue theory concerning support properties of measures in their Nevanlinna-Riesz-Herglotz representation. In particular, we study a class of linear fractional transformations M_A(z) of a given n \times n Herglotz matrix M(z) and prove that the minimal support of the absolut…
We study the exterior derivative as a symmetric unbounded operator on square integrable 1-forms on a 3D bounded domain $D$. We aim to identify boundary conditions that render this operator self-adjoint. By the symplectic version of the Glazman-Krein-Naimark theorem this amounts to identifying complete Lagrangian subspaces of the trace space of H(curl) equipped with a symplectic pairing arising from the $\wedge$-product of 1-forms on $\partial D$. Substantially generalizing earlier results, we characterize Lagrangian subspaces associated with closed and co-closed traces. In the case of non-triv…
In this paper the realization problems for the Krein-Langer class $N_κ$ of matrix-valued functions are being considered. We found the criterion when a given matrix-valued function from the class $N_κ$ can be realized as linear-fractional transformation of the transfer function of canonical conservative system of the M. Livsic type (Brodskii-Livsic rigged operator colligation) with the main operator acting on a rigged Pontryagin space $\Pk$ with indefinite metric. We specify three subclasses of the class $N_κ(R)$ of all realizable matrix-valued functions that correspond to different properties …
Let $A:D(A)\subseteq\H\to\H$ be an injective self-adjoint operator and let $τ:D(A)\to\X$, X a Banach space, be a surjective linear map such that $\|τϕ\|_\X\le c \|Aϕ\|_\H$. Supposing that \text{\rm Range}$ (τ')\cap\H' =\{0\}$, we define a family $A^τ_Θ$ of self-adjoint operators which are extensions of the symmetric operator $A_{|\{τ=0\}.}$. Any $ϕ$ in the operator domain $D(A^τ_Θ)$ is characterized by a sort of boundary conditions on its univocally defined regular component $\phireg$, which belongs to the completion of D(A) w.r.t. the norm $\|Aϕ\|_\H$. These boundary conditions are written in…
We consider operator-valued Herglotz functions and their applications to self-adjoint perturbations of self-adjoint operators and self-adjoint extensions of densely defined closed symmetric operators. Our applications include model operators for both situations, linear fractional transformations for Herglotz operators, results on Friedrichs and Krein extensions, and realization theorems for classes of Herglotz operators. Moreover, we study the concrete case of Schrödinger operators on a half-line and provide two illustrations of Livsic's result [44] on quasi-hermitian extensions in the special…
In this paper the spectral and scattering properties of a family of self-adjoint Dirac operators in $L^2(Ω; \mathbb{C}^4)$, where $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^3$ is either a bounded or an unbounded domain with a compact $C^2$-smooth boundary, are studied in a systematic way. These operators can be viewed as the natural relativistic counterpart of Laplacians with Robin boundary conditions. Among the Dirac operators treated here is also the so-called MIT bag operator, which has been used by physicists and more recently was discussed in the mathematical literature. Our approach is based on abstract bound…
Given, on the Hilbert space $\H_0$, the self-adjoint operator $B$ and the skew-adjoint operators $C_1$ and $C_2$, we consider, on the Hilbert space $\H\simeq D(B)\oplus\H_0$, the skew-adjoint operator $$W=[\begin{matrix} C_2&\uno -B^2&C_1\end{matrix}]$$ corresponding to the abstract wave equation $\ddotϕ-(C_1+C_2)\dotϕ=-(B^2+C_1C_2)ϕ$. Given then an auxiliary Hilbert space $\fh$ and a linear map $τ:D(B^2)\to\fh$ with a kernel $\K$ dense in $\H_0$, we explicitly construct skew-adjoint operators $W_Θ$ on a Hilbert space $\H_Θ\simeq D(B)\oplus\H_0\oplus \fh$ which coincide with $W$ on $\N\simeq\K…
Let $A$ be a symmetric linear relation in the Hilbert space $\gH$ with equal deficiency indices $n_\pm (A)\leq\infty$. A self-adjoint linear relation $\wt A\supset A$ in some Hilbert space $\wt\gH\supset \gH$ is called an exit space extension of $A$; such an extension is called finite-codimensional if $\dim (\wt\gH\ominus\gH)< \infty$. We study the compressions $C (\wt A)=P_\gH\wt A\up\gH$ of exit space extensions $\wt A=\wt A^*$. For a certain class of extensions $\wt A$ we parameterize the compressions $C (\wt A)$ by means of abstract boundary conditions. This enables us to characterize vari…
We construct self-adjoint operators in the direct sum of a complex Hilbert space $H$ and a finite dimensional complex inner product space $W$. The operator theory developed in this paper for the Hilbert space $H\oplus W$ is originally motivated by some fourth-order differential operators, studied by Everitt and others, having orthogonal polynomial eigenfunctions. Generated by a closed symmetric operator $T_{0}$ in $H$ with equal and finite deficiency indices and its adjoint $T_{1}$, we define \textit{families} of minimal operators $\{\widehat{T}_{0}\}$ and maximal operators $\{\widehat{T}_{1}\…
A natural generalization of Krein's theorem to a pair of commuting tuples $\left(H_1^0,H_2^0\right)$ and $\left(H_1,H_2\right)$ of bounded self-adjoint operators in a separable Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$ with $H_j-H_j^0 = V_j\in \mathcal{B}_2(\mathcal{H})$(set of all Hilbert-Schmidt operators on $\mathcal{H}$) for $j=1,2,$ leads to a Stokes-like formula under trace. A major ingredient in the proof is the finite-dimensional approximation result for commuting self-adjoint n-tuples of operators, a generalization of Weyl-von Neumann-Berg's theorem.
Given the symmetric operator $A_N$ obtained by restricting the self-adjoint operator $A$ to $N$, a linear dense set, closed with respect to the graph norm, we determine a convenient boundary triple for the adjoint $A_N^*$ and the corresponding Weyl function. These objects provide us with the self-adjoint extensions of $A_N$ and their resolvents.
A $J$-frame is a frame $\mathcal{F}$ for a Krein space $(\mathcal{H}, [\, , \,])$ which is compatible with the indefinite inner product $[\, , \, ]$ in the sense that it induces an indefinite reconstruction formula that resembles those produced by orthonormal bases in $\mathcal{H}$. With every $J$-frame the so-called $J$-frame operator is associated, which is a self-adjoint operator in the Krein space $\mathcal{H}$. The $J$-frame operator plays an essential role in the indefinite reconstruction formula. In this paper we characterize the class of $J$-frame operators in a Krein space by a $2\tim…
We extend Krupnik's criterion of self-adjointness of the Cauchy singular integral operator to the case of finitely connected domains. The main aim of the paper is to present a new approach for proof of the criterion.
The main result of the paper is that the Lifshits--Krein trace formula cannot be generalized to the case of functions of noncommuting self-adjoint operators. To prove this, we show that for pairs $(A_1,B_1)$ and $(A_2,B_2)$ of bounded self-adjoint operators with trace class differences $A_2-A_1$ and $B_2-B_1$, it is impossible to estimate the modulus of the trace of the difference $f(A_2,B_2)-f(A_1,B_1)$ in terms of the norm of $f$ in the Lipschitz class.
We provide a streamlined construction of the Friedrichs extension of a densely-defined self-adjoint and semibounded operator $A$ on a Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$, by means of a symmetric pair of operators. A \emph{symmetric pair} is comprised of densely defined operators $J: \mathcal{H}_1 \to \mathcal{H}_2$ and $K: \mathcal{H}_2 \to \mathcal{H}_1$ which are compatible in a certain sense. With the appropriate definitions of $\mathcal{H}_1$ and $J$ in terms of $A$ and $\mathcal{H}$, we show that $(JJ^\star)^{-1}$ is the Friedrichs extension of $A$. Furthermore, we use related ideas (including th…
Koplienko gave a trace formula for perturbations of self-adjoint operators by operators of Hilbert-Schmidt class $\mathcal{B}_2(\mathcal{H})$. Recently Gesztesy, Pushnitski and Simon gave an alternative proof of the trace formula when the operators involved are bounded. In this article, we give a still another proof and extend the formula for unbounded case by reducing the problem to a finite dimensional one as in the proof of Krein trace formula by Voiculescu, Sinha and Mohapatra.
Singular Green operators G appear typically as boundary correction terms in resolvents for elliptic boundary value problems on a domain Ω\subset R^n, and more generally they appear in the calculus of pseudodifferential boundary problems. In particular, the boundary term in a Krein resolvent formula is a singular Green operator. It is well-known in smooth cases that when G is of negative order -t on a bounded domain, its eigenvalues or s-numbers have the behavior (*) s_j(G) \sim c j^{-t/(n-1)} for j\to \infty, governed by the boundary dimension n-1. In some nonsmooth cases, upper estimates (**)…
In 2002, Littlejohn and Wellman developed a celebrated general left-definite theory for semi-bounded self-adjoint operators with many applications to differential operators. The theory starts with a semi-bounded self-adjoint operator and constructs a continuum of related Hilbert spaces and self-adjoint operators that are intimately related with powers of the initial operator. The development spurred a flurry of activity in the field that is still ongoing today. The main goal of this expository (with the exception of Proposition 1) manuscript is to compare and contrast the complementary theorie…
An inner closed (without boundary) smooth manifold of a lower dimension is cut from a multidimensional ball. In this region, invertible restrictions of the Laplace operator are well defined. In particular, the well-posed non-smooth Bitsadze-Samarskiĭ problem for the Laplace equation is defined. Moreover, we obtain M.G. Krein's formula for the trace of the difference of resolvents of the studied operators. We prove assertions on the spectrum of the non-smooth Bitsadze-Samarskiĭ problem.
We study one-dimensional Schroedinger operators S with real-valued distributional potentials q in W^{-1}_{2,loc}(R) and prove an extension of the Povzner-Wienholtz theorem on self-adjointness of bounded below S thus providing additional information on its domain. The results are further specified for q in W^{-1}_{2,unif}(R).
We provide first order perturbation formulas for the matrix square root (in the positive semi-definite case) and the matrix modulus (in the general case). The results are new for singular matrices, and extend previously known Fréchet differentiability formulas provided by the Daleckii-Krein theorem.
We consider self-adjoint Dirac operators $\ham{D}=\ham{D}_0 + V(x)$, where $\ham{D}_0$ is the free three-dimensional Dirac operator and $V(x)$ is a smooth compactly supported Hermitian matrix. We define resonances of $\ham{D}$ as poles of the meromorphic continuation of its cut-off resolvent. An upper bound on the number of resonances in disks, an estimate on the scattering determinant and the Lifshits-Krein trace formula then leads to a global Poisson wave trace formula for resonances of $\ham{D}$.
Koplienko \cite{Ko} found a trace formula for perturbations of self-adjoint operators by operators of Hilbert-Schmidt class $\mathcal{B}_2(\mathcal{H})$. Later in 1988, a similar formula was obtained by Neidhardt \cite{NH} in the case of unitary operators. In this article, we give a still another proof of Koplienko-Neidhardt trace formula in the case of unitary operators by reducing the problem to a finite dimensional one as in the proof of Krein's trace formula by Voiculescu \cite{Voi}, Sinha and Mohapatra \cite{MoSi94,MoSi96}.
Let ${\cal H}$ be a Hilbert space, $A$ a positive definite operator in ${\cal H}$ and $\langle f,g\rangle_A=\langle Af,g\rangle$, $f,g\in {\cal H}$, the $A$-inner product. This paper studies the geometry of the set $$ {\cal I}_A^a:=\{\hbox{ adjointable isometries for } \langle \ , \ \rangle_A\}. $$ It is proved that ${\cal I}_A^a$ is a submanifold of the Banach algebra of adjointable operators, and a homogeneous space of the group of invertible operators in ${\cal H}$, which are unitaries for the $A$-inner product. Smooth curves in ${\cal I}_A^a$ with given initial conditions, which are minima…
We obtain general trace formulae in the case of perturbation of self-adjoint operators by self-adjoint operators of class $\bS_m$, where $m$ is a positive integer. In \cite{PSS} a trace formula for operator Taylor polynomials was obtained. This formula includes the Livshits--Krein trace formula in the case $m=1$ and the Koplienko trace formula in the case $m=2$. We establish most general trace formulae in the case of perturbation of Schatten--von Neumann class $\bS_m$. We also improve the trace formula obtained in \cite{PSS} for operator Taylor polynomials and prove it for arbitrary functions …
