All exactly integrable systems connected with the semisimple algebras of the second rank with an arbitrary choice of the grading in them are presented in explicit form. General solution of such systems are expressed in terms of the matrix elements of two fundamental representations of corresponding semisimple groups.
We classify all integrable triples in simple Lie algebras, up to equivalence. The importance of this problem stems from the fact that for each such equivalence class one can construct the corresponding integrable hierarchy of bi-Hamiltonian PDE. The simplest integrable triple $(f,0,e)$ in $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ corresponds to the KdV hierarchy, and the triple $(f,0,e_θ)$, where $f$ is the sum of negative simple root vectors and $e_θ$ is the highest root vector of a simple Lie algebra, corresponds to the Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy.
We define the double ramification hierarchy associated to an F-cohomological field theory and use this construction to prove that the principal hierarchy of any semisimple (homogeneous) flat F-manifold possesses a (homogeneous) integrable dispersive deformation at all orders in the dispersion parameter. The proof is based on the reconstruction of an F-CohFT starting from a semisimple flat F-manifold and additional data in genus $1$, obtained in our previous work. Our construction of these dispersive deformations is quite explicit and we compute several examples. In particular, we provide a com…
The affine Gaudin model, associated with an untwisted affine Kac-Moody algebra, is known to arise from a certain gauge fixing of 4-dimensional mixed topological-holomorphic Chern-Simons theory in the Hamiltonian framework. We show that the finite Gaudin model, associated with a finite-dimensional semisimple Lie algebra, or more generally the tamely ramified Hitchin system on an arbitrary Riemann surface, can likewise be obtained from a similar gauge fixing of 3-dimensional mixed BF theory in the Hamiltonian framework.
We introduce the notion of Haantjes algebra: It consists of an assignment of a family of operator fields on a differentiable manifold, each of them with vanishing Haantjes torsion. They are also required to satisfy suitable compatibility conditions. Haantjes algebras naturally generalize several known interesting geometric structures, arising in Riemannian geometry and in the theory of integrable systems. At the same time, as we will show, they play a crucial role in the theory of diagonalization of operators on differentiable manifolds. Assuming that the operators of a Haantjes algebra are se…
