We define the double ramification hierarchy associated to an F-cohomological field theory and use this construction to prove that the principal hierarchy of any semisimple (homogeneous) flat F-manifold possesses a (homogeneous) integrable dispersive deformation at all orders in the dispersion parameter. The proof is based on the reconstruction of an F-CohFT starting from a semisimple flat F-manifold and additional data in genus $1$, obtained in our previous work. Our construction of these dispersive deformations is quite explicit and we compute several examples. In particular, we provide a complete classification of rank $1$ hierarchies of DR type at the order $9$ approximation in the dispersion parameter and of homogeneous DR hierarchies associated with all $2$-dimensional homogeneous flat F-manifolds at genus $1$ approximation.

In this paper we continue the study of the double ramification hierarchy of [Bur15]. After showing that the DR hierarchy satisfies tau-symmetry we define its partition function as the (logarithm of the) tau-function of the string solution and show that it satisfies various properties (string, dilaton and divisor equations plus some important degree constraints). We then formulate a stronger version of the conjecture from [Bur15]: for any semisimple cohomological field theory, the Dubrovin-Zhang and double ramification hierarchies are related by a normal (i.e. preserving the tau-structure [DLYZ…
In a recent paper, giving an arbitrary homogeneous cohomological field theory (CohFT), Rossi, Shadrin, and the first author proposed a simple formula for a bracket on the space local functionals that conjecturally gives a second Hamiltonian structure for the double ramification hierarchy associated to the CohFT. In this paper we prove this conjecture at the approximation up to genus 1 and relate this bracket to the second Poisson bracket of the Dubrovin-Zhang hierarchy by an explicit Miura transformation.
We outline two approaches to the construction of integrable hierarchies associated with the theory of Gromov - Witten invariants of smooth projective varieties. We argue that a comparison of these two approaches yields nontrivial constraints on Chern numbers of varieties with semisimple quantum cohomology.
It this paper we present a new construction of a hamiltonian hierarchy associated to a cohomological field theory. We conjecture that in the semisimple case our hierarchy is related to the Dubrovin-Zhang hierarchy by a Miura transformation and check it in several examples.
We present a unified fermionic approach to compute the tau-functions and the n-point functions of integrable hierarchies related to some infinite-dimensional Lie algebras and their representations.
In this short survey, we describe our approach for constructing hierarchies of Poisson brackets for classical integrable systems using its' spectral curves.
We present changes of variables that transform new integrable hierarchies found by Szablikowski and Błaszak using the $R$-matrix deformation technique [J. Math. Phys. 47 (2006), paper 043505, nlin.SI/0501044] into known Harry-Dym-type and mKdV-type hierarchies.
We propose a new construction of an integrable hierarchy associated to any infinite series of Frobenius manifolds satisfying a certain stabilization condition. We study these hierarchies for Frobenius manifolds associated to $A_N$, $D_N$ and $B_N$ singularities. In the case of $A_N$ Frobenius manifolds our hierarchy turns out to coincide with the KP hierarchy; for $B_N$ Frobenius manifolds it coincides with the BKP hierarchy; and for $D_N$ hierarchy it is a certain reduction of the 2-component BKP hierarchy. As a side product to these results we illustrate the enumerative meaning of certain co…
A simple construction of Whitham type hierarchies in all genera is suggested. Potentials of these hierarchies are written as integrals of hypergeometric type. Possible generalization for universal moduli space is also briefly discussed.
It is shown that there exists two inner authomorpism which lead to different form of the sistems equations of integrable hierarchy. We present discrete and Backlund transformation connected with such systems and a general formula for multi-soliton solutions based on these symmetries.
In this paper we study various aspects of the double ramification (DR) hierarchy, introduced by the first author, and its quantization. We extend the notion of tau-symmetry to quantum integrable hierarchies and prove that the quantum DR hierarchy enjoys this property. We determine explicitly the genus $1$ quantum correction and, as an application, compute completely the quantization of the $3$- and $4$-KdV hierarchies (the DR hierarchies for Witten's $3$- and $4$-spin theories). We then focus on the recursion relation satisfied by the DR Hamiltonian densities and, abstracting from its geometri…
The following work is an exploration into certain topics in the broad world of integrable models, both classical and quantum, and consists of two main parts of roughly equal length. The first part, consisting of chapters 1-3, concerns itself mainly with correlations between results in classical hierarchies and quantum lattice models. The second part, consisting of chapters 4-6, deals almost entirely with deriving results concerned with quantum lattice models.
A relationship between Painleve systems and infinite-dimensional integrable hierarchies is studied. We derive a class of higher order Painleve systems from Drinfeld-Sokolov (DS) hierarchies of type A by similarity reductions. This result allows us to understand some properties of Painleve systems, Hamiltonian structures, Lax pairs and affine Weyl group symmetries.
We prove that the total descendant potential functions of the theory of Fan-Jarvis-Ruan-Witten for D_4 with symmetry group <J> and D_4^T with symmetry group G_{max}, respectively, are both tau-functions of the D_4 Kac-Wakimoto/Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy. This completes the proof, begun in [FJR], of the Witten Integrable Hierarchies Conjecture for all simple (ADE) singularities.
We consider a general framework for integrable hierarchies in Lax form and derive certain universal equations from which `functional representations' of particular hierarchies (like KP, discrete KP, mKP, AKNS), i.e. formulations in terms of functional equations, are systematically and quite easily obtained. The formalism genuinely applies to hierarchies where the dependent variables live in a noncommutative (typically matrix) algebra. The obtained functional representations can be understood as `noncommutative' analogs of `Fay identities' for the KP hierarchy.
We show that reductions of KP hierarchies related to the loop algebra of $SL_n$ with homogeneous gradation give solutions of the Darboux-Egoroff system of PDE's. Using explicit dressing matrices of the Riemann-Hilbert problem generalized to include a set of commuting additional symmetries, we construct solutions of the Witten--Dijkgraaf--E. Verlinde--H. Verlinde equations.
We prove that for any tau-symmetric bihamiltonian deformation of the tau-cover of the Principal Hierarchy associated with a semisimple Frobenius manifold, the deformed tau-cover admits an infinite set of Virasoro symmetries.
We observe that the modular class of a Poisson-Nijhenhuis manifold has a canonical representative and that, under a cohomological assumption, this vector field is bi-hamiltonian. In many examples the associated hierarchy of flows reproduces classical integrable hierarchies.
A family of mappings from the solution spaces of certain generalized Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchies to the self-dual Yang-Mills system on R^{2,2} is described. This provides an extension of the well-known relationship between self-dual connections and integrable hierarchies of AKNS and Drinfeld-Sokolov type.
We develop the concept of pluri-Lagrangian structures for integrable hierarchies. This is a continuous counterpart of the pluri-Lagrangian (or Lagrangian multiform) theory of integrable lattice systems. We derive the multi-time Euler Lagrange equations in their full generality for hierarchies of two-dimensional systems, and construct a pluri-Lagrangian formulation of the potential Korteweg-de Vries hierarchy.
We here present two different hierarchies of PDEs in 1+1 dimensions whose first and second member are the shallow water wave Camassa-Holm and Qiao equations, correspondingly. These two hierarchies can be transformed by reciprocal methods into the Calogero-Bogoyanlevski-Schiff equation (CBS) and its modified version (mCBS), respectively. Considering that there exists a Miura transformation between the CBS and mCBS, we shall obtain a relation between the initial hierarchies by means of a composition of a Miura and reciprocal transforms.
We obtain via Bäcklund transformation the Hamiltonian representation for a Lax type nonlinear dynamical system hierarchy on a dual space to the Lie algebra of super-integral-differential operators of one anticommuting variable, extended by evolutions of the corresponding spectral problem eigenfunctions and adjoint eigenfunctions, as well as for the hierarchies of their additional symmetries. The relation of these hierarchies with the integrable by Lax (2|1+1)-dimensional supersymmetric Davey-Stewartson system is investigated.
We consider a certain super extension, called the super tau-cover, of a bihamiltonian integrable hierarchy which contains the Hamiltonian structures including both the local and non-local ones as odd flows. In particular, we construct the super tau-cover of the principal hierarchy associated with an arbitrary Frobenius manifold, and the super tau-cover of the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) hierarchy. We also show that the Virasoro symmetries of these bihamiltonan integrable hierarchies can be extended to symmetries of the associated super tau-covers.
In this paper, we construct the additional $W$-symmetry and ghost symmetry of two-lattice field integrable hierarchies. Using the symmetry constraint, we construct constrained two-lattice integrable systems which contain several new integrable difference equations. Under a further reduction, the constrained two-lattice integrable systems can be combined into one single integrable system, namely the well-known one dimensional original Toda hierarchy. We prove that the one dimensional original Toda hierarchy has a nice Block Lie symmetry.
We show that the dispersionless limits of the Pfaff-KP (also known as the DKP or Pfaff lattice) and the Pfaff-Toda hierarchies admit a reformulation through elliptic functions. In the elliptic form they look like natural elliptic deformations of the KP and 2D Toda hierarchy respectively.
To each partition function of cohomological field theory one can associate an Hamiltonian integrable hierarchy of topological type. The Givental group acts on such partition functions and consequently on the associated integrable hierarchies. We consider the Hirota and Lax formulations of the deformation of the hierarchy of N copies of KdV obtained by an infinitesimal action of the Givental group. By first deforming the Hirota quadratic equations and then applying a fundamental lemma to express it in terms of pseudo-differential operators, we show that such deformed hierarchy admits an explici…
A one-parameter generalization of the hierarchy of negative flows is introduced for integrable hierarchies of evolution equations, which yields a wider (new) class of non-evolutionary integrable nonlinear wave equations. As main results, several integrability properties of these generalized negative flow equation are established, including their symmetry structure, conservation laws, and bi-Hamiltonian formulation. (The results also apply to the hierarchy of ordinary negative flows). The first generalized negative flow equation is worked out explicitly for each of the following integrable equa…
In this short note we show how Dubrovin's integrable hierarchies, defined using the Gromov-Witten theory of a closed symplectic manifold, generalizes to Hamiltonian Floer theory. In particular, we show how the required generalization of the PSS isomorphism, relating Gromov-Witten theory and Hamiltonian Floer theory, can be constructed in the framework of Eliashberg-Givental-Hofer's symplectic field theory.
We construct an integrable hierarchy in terms of vertex operators and Hirota Quadratic Equations (HQE shortly) and we show that the equivariant total descendant potential of $\C P^1$ satisfies the HQE. Our prove is based on the quantization formalism developed in \cite{G1}, \cite{G2}, and on the equivariant mirror model of $\C P^1.$ The vertex operators in our construction obey certain transformation law under change of coordinates, which might be important for generalizing the HQE to other manifolds. We also show that under certain change of the variables, which is due to E. Getzler, the HQE …
In the present work, the integrable bi-Hamiltonian hierarchies related to compatible nonlocal Poisson brackets of hydrodynamic type are effectively constructed. For achieving this aim, first of all, the problem on the canonical form of a special type for compatible nonlocal Poisson brackets of hydrodynamic type is solved.
We apply the new method for constructing integrable Hamiltonian hierarchies of Lax type equations developed in our previous paper, to show that all W-algebras W(gl_N,f) carry such a hierarchy. As an application, we show that all vector constrained KP hierarchies and their matrix generalizations are obtained from these hierarchies by Dirac reduction, which provides the former with a bi-Poisson structure.
In this note we present explicitly the construction of the mKdV hierarchy and show that it decomposes into positive and negative graded sub-hierarchies. We extend the construction of the Backlund transformation for the sinh-Gordon model to all other positive and negative odd graded equations of motion generated by the same affine algebraic structure. Some simple examples of solutions are explicitly verified to satisfy, in a universal manner, the Backlund transformations for the first few odd (positive and negative) sub-hierarchies.
We solve the problem of reducing to the simplest and convenient for our purposes, canonical form for an arbitrary pair of compatible nonlocal Poisson brackets of hydrodynamic type generated by metrics of constant Riemannian curvature in order to get an effective construction of the integrable hierarchies related to all these compatible Poisson brackets.
This work presents a classical Lie point symmetry analysis of a two-component, non-isospectral Lax pair of a hierarchy of partial differential equations in $2+1$ dimensions, which can be considered as a modified version of the Camassa-Holm hierarchy in $2+1$ dimensions. A classification of reductions for this spectral problem is performed. Non-isospectral reductions in $1+1$ dimensions are considered of remarkable interest.
Generation of higher-dimensional isospectral-nonisospectral integrable hierarchies associated with a new class of higher-dimensional column-vector loop algebras
We consider the space of solutions of the Bethe ansatz equations of the $\widehat{\frak{sl}_N}$ XXX quantum integrable model, associated with the trivial representation of $\widehat{\frak{sl}_N}$. We construct a family of commuting flows on this space and identify the flows with the flows of coherent rational Ruijesenaars-Schneider systems. For that we develop in full generality the spectral transform for the rational Ruijesenaars-Schneider system.
We investigate the relation between pluri-Lagrangian hierarchies of $2$-dimensional partial differential equations and their variational symmetries. The aim is to generalize to the case of partial differential equations the recent findings in [Petrera, Suris. J. Nonlinear Math. Phys. 24:sup1, 121--145 (2017)] for ordinary differential equations. We consider hierarchies of $2$-dimensional Lagrangian PDEs (many of which have a natural $(1+1)$-dimensional space-time interpretation) and show that if the flow of each PDE is a variational symmetry of all others, then there exists a pluri-Lagrangian …
An integrable field theory, due to path-independence on the space-time plane, should yield together with an infinite set of independent conserved charges also similar dual charges determining the boundary and defect contributions. On the example of the nonlinear Schroedinger equation we unravel hidden hierarchies and dual structures and show the complete integrability through a novel Yang-Baxter equation at the classical and quantum level with exact solution.
We consistently develop a recently proposed scheme of matrix extension of dispersionless integrable systems for the general case of multidimensional hierarchies, concentrating on the case of dimension $d\geqslant 4$. We present extended Lax pairs, Lax-Sato equations, matrix equations on the background of vector fields and the dressing scheme. Reductions, construction of solutions and connections to geometry are discussed. We consider separately a case of Abelian extension, for which the Riemann-Hilbert equations of the dressing scheme are explicitly solvable and give an analogue of Penrose for…
Supersymmetry is formulated for integrable models based on the $sl(2|1)$ loop algebra endowed with a principal gradation. The symmetry transformations which have half-integer grades generate supersymmetry. The $sl(2|1)$ loop algebra leads to N=2 supersymmetric mKdV and sinh-Gordon equations. The corresponding N=1 mKdV and sinh-Gordon equations are obtained via reduction induced by twisted automorphism. Our method allows for a description of a non-local symmetry structure of supersymmetric integrable models.
We use the connection between the Frobrenius manifold and the Douglas string equation to further investigate Minimal Liouville gravity. We search a solution of the Douglas string equation and simultaneously a proper transformation from the KdV to the Liouville frame which ensure the fulfilment of the conformal and fusion selection rules. We find that the desired solution of the string equation has explicit and simple form in the flat coordinates on the Frobenious manifold in the general case of (p,q) Minimal Liouville gravity.
