In this article we study the quasi-linear equation \[\mathrm{div}\, \mathcal A(x,u,\nabla u)=\mathcal B(x,u,\nabla u)\quad \text{in }Ω,\qquad u\in H^{1,p}_{loc}(Ω;w_1dx)\] where $\mathcal A$ and $\mathcal B$ are functions satisfying $\mathcal A(x,u,\nabla u)\sim w_1(|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u+|u|^{p-2}u)$ and $\mathcal B(x,u,\nabla u)\sim w_2(|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u+|u|^{p-2}u)$ for $p>1$, a $p$-admissible weight function $w_1$, and another weight function $w_2$ compatible with $w_1$ in a suitable sense. We establish interior regularity results of weak solutions and use those results to obtain point-wise asymptotic estimates at infinity for solutions to \[-\mathrm{div}\,(w_1|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u)=w_2|u|^{q-2}u\quad \text{in }Ω,\qquad u\in D^{1,p,w_1}(Ω)\] for a critical exponent $q>p>1$ in the sense of Sobolev.
The purpose of this article is twofold. First, an issue of regularity of weak solution to the problem $(P)$ (See below) is addressed. Secondly, we investigate the question of $H^s$ versus $C^0$- weighted minimizers of the functional associated to problem $(P)$ and then give applications to existence and multiplicity results.
We study the doubly nonlinear PDE $$ |\partial_t u|^{p-2}\,\partial_t u-\textrm{div}(|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u)=0. $$ This equation arises in the study of extremals of Poincaré inequalities in Sobolev spaces. We prove spatial Lipschitz continuity and Hölder continuity in time of order $(p-1)/p$ for viscosity solutions. As an application of our estimates, we obtain pointwise control of the large time behavior of solutions.
In recent years, many papers have been devoted to the regularity of doubly nonlinear singular evolution equations. Many of the proofs are unnecessarily complicated, rely on superfluous assumptions or follow an inappropriate approximation procedure. This makes the theory unclear and quite chaotic to a nonspecialist. The aim of this paper is to fix all the misprints, to follow correct procedures, to exhibit, possibly, the shortest and most elegant proofs and to give a complete and self-contained overview of the theory.
We demonstrate two proofs for the local Hölder continuity of possibly sign-changing solutions to a class of doubly nonlinear parabolic equations whose prototype is \[ \partial_t\big(|u|^{q-1}u\big)-Δ_p u=0,\quad p>2,\quad 0<q<p-1. \] The first proof takes advantage of the expansion of positivity for the degenerate, parabolic $p$-Laplacian, thus simplifying the argument; whereas the other proof relies solely on the energy estimates for the doubly nonlinear parabolic equations. After proper adaptions of the interior arguments, we also obtain the boundary regularity for initial-boundary value pro…
We establish the local Hölder continuity of possibly sign-changing solutions to a class of doubly nonlinear parabolic equations whose prototype is \[ \partial_t\big(|u|^{q-1}u\big)-Δ_p u=0,\quad 1<p<2,\quad 0<p-1<q. \] The proof exploits the space expansion of positivity for the singular, parabolic $p$-Laplacian and employs the method of intrinsic scaling by carefully balancing the double singularity.
We obtain parabolic transmission eigenvalue-free regions for both isotropic andanisotropic interior transmission problems with coefficients which are Lipschitznear the boundary
In this manuscript we establish local Hölder regularity estimates for bounded solutions of a certain class of doubly degenerate evolution PDEs. By making use of intrinsic scaling techniques and geometric tangential methods, we derive sharp regularity estimates for such models, which depend only on universal and compatibility parameters of the problem. In such a scenario, our results are natural improvements for former ones in the context of nonlinear evolution PDEs with degenerate structure via a unified approach. As a consequence for our findings and approach, we address a Liouville type resu…
We study solutions ${\bf v}$ of the parabolic system of PDE $$ \partial_t\left(Dψ({\bf v})\right)=\text{div}DF(D{\bf v}). $$ Here $ψ$ and $F$ are convex functions, and this is a model equation for more general doubly nonlinear evolutions that arise in the study of phase transitions in materials. We show that if ${\bf v}$ is a weak solution, then $D{\bf v}$ is locally Hölder continuous except for possibly on a lower dimensional subset of the domain of ${\bf v}$. Our proof is based on compactness properties of solutions, two integral identities and a fractional time derivative estimate for $D{\b…
We establish interior and up to the boundary Hölder regularity estimates for weak solutions of the Dirichlet problem for the fractional $g-$Laplacian with bounded right hand side and $g$ convex. These are the first regularity results available in the literature for integro-differential equations in the context of fractional Orlicz-Sobolev spaces.
In this paper we obtain interior regularity estimates for viscosity solutions of nonlocal Dirichlet problems that degenerate when the gradient of the solution vanishes. Interior Hölder estimates are obtained when the order of the fractional diffusion is less or equal than one, and Lipschitz estimates when it is bigger than one. In the latter case, the estimates are robust enough to conclude interior $C^{1, α}$ regularity by an improvement of the flatness procedure, which is possible when the nonlocal term is close enough to a second-order diffusion.
We study weak solutions ${\bf v}:U\times (0,T)\rightarrow \mathbb{R}^m$ of the nonlinear parabolic system $$ Dψ({\bf v}_t)=\text{div}DF(D{\bf v}), $$ where $ψ$ and $F$ are convex functions. This is a prototype for more general doubly nonlinear evolutions which arise in the study of structural properties of materials. Under the assumption that the second derivatives of $F$ are Hölder continuous, we show that $D^2{\bf v}$ and ${\bf v}_t$ are locally Hölder continuous except for possibly on a lower dimensional subset of $U\times (0,T)$. Our approach relies on two integral identities, decay of the…
We establish the interior and boundary Hölder continuity of possibly sign-changing solutions to a class of doubly nonlinear parabolic equations whose prototype is \[ \partial_t\big(|u|^{p-2}u\big)-Δ_p u=0,\quad p>1. \] The proof relies on the property of expansion of positivity and the method of intrinsic scaling, all of which are realized by De Giorgi's iteration. Our approach, while emphasizing the distinct roles of sub(super)-solutions, is flexible enough to obtain the Hölder regularity of solutions to initial-boundary value problems of Dirichlet type or Neumann type in a cylindrical domain…
Let $2\le n\le 5$. We establish an apriori interior Hölder regularity of $C^2$-stable solutions to the semilinear equation $-Δu=f(u)$ in any domain of $R^n$ for any nonlinearity $f\in C^{0,1}(R) $.If $f $ is nondecreasing and convex in addition,we obtain an interior Hölder regularity, and hence the local boundedness, of $W^{1,2}(Ω)$-stable solutions by locally approximating them via $C^2(Ω)$-stable solutions. In particular, we do not require any lower bound on $f$.
We consider the three-dimensional incompressible free-boundary Euler equations in a bounded domain and with surface tension. Using Lagrangian coordinates, we establish a priori estimates for solutions with minimal regularity assumptions on the initial data.

In this paper, we establish interior $C^{1,α}$ estimates for solutions of the linearized Monge-Amp$\grave{e}$re equation $$\mathcal{L}_ϕu:=\mathrm{tr}[ΦD^2 u]=f,$$ where the density of the Monge-Amp$\grave{e}$re measure $g:=\mathrm{det}D^2ϕ$ satisfies a $\mathrm{VMO}$-type condition and $Φ:=(\mathrm{det}D^2ϕ)(D^2ϕ)^{-1}$ is the cofactor matrix of $D^2ϕ$.
We consider inhomogeneous $p$-Laplace type equations of the form $-\mathrm{div}\left(a(\nabla u)\right)=f$ in a possibly anisotropic setting. Under general assumptions on the source term $f$, we obtain quantitative Sobolev regularity results for the stress field $a(\nabla u)$ and weighted $L^2$ estimates for the Hessian of the solution. As far as we know, our results are new or refine the ones available in literature also when restricted to the Euclidean setting.
In this paper, we study the interior C^{1,1} regularity of viscosity solutions for a degenerate Monge-Ampère type equation \det[D^{2}u-A(x, u, Du)]=B(x, u, Du) when B \geq 0 and B^{\frac{1}{n-1}}\in C^{1,1}(\barΩ\times\mathbb{R}\times \mathbb{R}^n). We prove that u\in C^{1,1}(Ω) under the A3 condition and A3w^+ condition respectively. In the former case, we construct a suitable auxiliary function to obtain uniform {\it a priori} estimates directly. In the latter case, the main argument is to establish the Pogorelov type estimates, which are interesting independently.
In this article, we deal with the global regularity of weak solutions to a class of problems involving the fractional $(p,q)$-Laplacian, denoted by $(-Δ)^{s_1}_{p}+(-Δ)^{s_2}_{q}$, for $s_2, s_1\in (0,1)$ and $1<p,q<\infty$. We establish completely new Hölder continuity results, up to the boundary, for the weak solutions to fractional $(p,q)$-problems involving singular as well as regular nonlinearities. Moreover, as applications to boundary estimates, we establish new Hopf type maximum principle and strong comparison principle in both situations.

We develop here a particular version of the partial regularity theory for the Magneto-Micropolar equations (MMP) where a perturbation term is added. These equations are used in some special cases, such as in the study of the evolution of liquid cristals or polymers, where the classical Navier-Stokes equations are not an accurate enough model. The incompressible Magneto-Micropolar system is composed of three coupled equations: the first one is based in the Navier-Stokes system, the second one considers mainly the magnetic field while the last equation introduces the microrotation field represen…
