This is the first part of a series of two papers aiming to construct a categorification of the braiding on tensor products of Verma modules, and in particular of the Lawrence--Krammer--Bigelow representations. \\ In this part, we categorify all tensor products of Verma modules and integrable modules for quantum $\mathfrak{sl_2}$. The categorification is given by derived categories of dg versions of KLRW algebras which generalize both the tensor product algebras of Webster, and the dg-algebras used by Lacabanne, the second author and Vaz. We compute a basis for these dgKLRW algebras by using rewriting methods modulo braid-like isotopy, which we develop in an Appendix.
We provide a categorification of $\mathfrak{q}(2)$-crystals on the singular $\mathfrak{gl}_{n}$-category ${\mathcal O}_{n}$. Our result extends the $\mathfrak{gl}_{2}$-crystal structure on ${\rm Irr} ({\mathcal O}_{n})$ defined by Bernstein-Frenkel-Khovanov. Further properties of the ${\mathfrak q}(2)$-crystal ${\rm Irr}({\mathcal O}_{n})$ are also discussed.
We consider the monoidal subcategory of finite dimensional representations of $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}(1|1))$ generated by the vector representation, and we provide a diagram calculus for the intertwining operators, which allows to compute explicitly the canonical basis. We construct then a categorification of these representations and of the action of both $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}(1|1))$ and the intertwining operators using subquotient categories of the BGG category $\mathcal{O}(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$.
Let $U_q'(\mathfrak{g})$ be a quantum affine algebra of untwisted affine $ADE$ type, and $\mathcal{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}^0$ the Hernandez-Leclerc category of finite-dimensional $U_q'(\mathfrak{g})$-modules. For a suitable infinite sequence $\widehat{w}_0= \cdots s_{i_{-1}}s_{i_0}s_{i_1} \cdots$ of simple reflections, we introduce subcategories $\mathcal{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}^{[a,b]}$ of $\mathcal{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}^0$ for all $a \le b \in \mathbb{Z}\sqcup\{ \pm \infty \}$. Associated with a certain chain $\mathfrak{C}$ of intervals in $[a,b]$, we construct a real simple commuting family $M(\mathfrak{C}…
We give explicit resolutions of all finite dimensional, simple $U_q(\mathfrak{sl_3})$-modules. We use these resolutions to categorify the colored $\mathfrak{sl}_3$-invariant of framed links via a complex of complexes of graded $\mathbb{Z}$-modules.
We construct a p-DG structure on an algebra Koszul dual to a zigzag algebra used by Khovanov and Seidel to construct a categorical braid group action. We show there is a braid group action in this p-DG setting.
We define virtual braid groups of type B and construct a morphism from such a group to the group of isomorphism classes of some invertible complexes of bimodules up to homotopy.
We introduce and investigate new invariants on the pair of modules $M$ and $N$ over quantum affine algebras $U_q'(\mathfrak{g})$ by analyzing their associated R-matrices. From new invariants, we provide a criterion for a monoidal category of finite-dimensional integrable $U_q'(\mathfrak{g})$-modules to become a monoidal categorification of a cluster algebra.
A braid-like isotopy for links in 3-space is an isotopy which uses only those Reidemeister moves which occur in isotopies of braids. We define a refined Jones polynomial and its corresponding Khovanov homology which are, in general, only invariant under braid-like isotopies.
Using quantum skew-Howe duality, we study the category $\operatorname{Rep}(\mathfrak{gl}(m|n))$ of tensor products of exterior powers of the standard representation of $U_q(\mathfrak{gl}(m|n))$, and prove that it is equivalent to a category of ladder diagrams modulo one extra family of relations. We then construct a categorification of $\operatorname{Rep}(\mathfrak{gl}(m|n))$ using the theory of foams. In the case of $n=0$, we show that we can recover $\mathfrak{sl}(m)$ foams introduced by Queffelec and Rose to define Khovanov-Rozansky $\mathfrak{sl}(m)$ link homology. We also define a categor…
We construct categorifications of tensor products of arbitrary finite-dimensional irreducible representations of $\mathfrak{sl}_k$ with subquotient categories of the BGG category $\mathcal{O}$, generalizing previous work of Sussan and Mazorchuk-Stroppel. Using Lie theoretical methods, we prove in detail that they are tensor product categorifications according to the recent definition of Losev and Webster. As an application we deduce an equivalence of categories between certain versions of category $\mathcal{O}$ and Webster's tensor product categories. Finally we indicate how the categorificati…
We prove that the quantum unipotent coordinate algebra $A_q(\mathfrak{n}(w))\ $ associated with a symmetric Kac-Moody algebra and its Weyl group element $w$ has a monoidal categorification as a quantum cluster algebra. As an application of our earlier work, we achieve it by showing the existence of a quantum monoidal seed of $A_q(\mathfrak{n}(w))$ which admits the first-step mutations in all the directions. As a consequence, we solve the conjecture that any cluster monomial is a member of the upper global basis up to a power of $q^{1/2}$.
We give a new proof of the "super Kazhdan-Lusztig conjecture" for the Lie super algebra $\mathfrak{gl}_{n|m}(\mathbb{C})$ as formulated originally by the first author. We also prove for the first time that any integral block of category O for $\mathfrak{gl}_{n|m}(\mathbb{C})$ (and also all of its parabolic analogs) possesses a graded version which is Koszul. Our approach depends crucially on an application of the uniqueness of tensor product categorifications established recently by the second two authors.
Bernstein, Frenkel, and Khovanov have constructed a categorification of tensor products of the standard representation of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$, where they use singular blocks of category $\mathcal{O}$ for $\mathfrak{sl}_n$ and translation functors. Here we construct a positive characteristic analogue using blocks of representations of $\mathfrak{sl}_n$ over a field $\textbf{k}$ of characteristic $p$ with zero Frobenius character, and singular Harish-Chandra character. We show that the aforementioned categorification admits a Koszul graded lift, which is equivalent to a geometric categorification …
Let $U$ be a quantized enveloping algebra. We consider the adjoint action of an $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-subalgebra of $U$ on a subalgebra of $U^+$ that is maximal integrable for this action. We categorify this representation in the context of quiver Hecke algebras. We obtain an action of the 2-category associated with $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ on a category of modules over certain quotients of quiver Hecke algebras. Our approach is similar to that of Kang-Kashiwara for categorifications of highest weight modules via cyclotomic quiver Hecke algebras. One of the main new features is a compatibility of the cat…
The Witt group of nondegenerate braided fusion categories $\mathcal{W}$ contains a subgroup $\mathcal{W}_\text{un}$ consisting of Witt equivalence classes of pseudo-unitary nondegenerate braided fusion categories. For each finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ and positive integer $k$ there exists a pseudo-unitary category $\mathcal{C}(\mathfrak{g},k)$ consisting of highest weight integerable $\hat{g}$-modules of level $k$ where $\hat{\mathfrak{g}}$ is the corresponding affine Lie algebra. Relations between the classes $[\mathcal{C}(\mathfrak{sl}_2,k)]$, $k\geq1$ have been compl…
We study a presentation of Khovanov - Lauda - Rouquier's candidate $2$-categorification of a quantum group using algebraic rewriting methods. We use a computational approach based on rewriting modulo the isotopy axioms of its pivotal structure to compute a family of linear bases for all the vector spaces of $2$-cells in this $2$-category. We show that these bases correspond to Khovanov and Lauda's conjectured generating sets, proving the non-degeneracy of their diagrammatic calculus. This implies that this $2$-category is a categorification of Lusztig's idempotent and integral quantum group $\…
This paper is the first step in the project of categorifying the bialgebra structure on the half of quantum group $U_{q}(\mathfrak{g})$ by using geometry and Hall algebras. We equip the category of D-modules on the moduli stack of objects of the category $Rep_{\mathbb{C}}(Q)$ of representations of a quiver with the structure of an algebra object in the category of stable $\infty$-categories. The data for this construction is provided by an extension of the Waldhausen construction for the category $Rep_{\mathbb{C}}(Q)$. We discuss the connection to the Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier categorification o…
We give an explicit graded cellular basis of the $\mathfrak{sl}_3$-web algebra $K_S$. In order to do this, we identify Kuperberg's basis for the $\mathfrak{sl}_3$-web space $W_S$ with a version of Leclerc-Toffin's intermediate crystal basis and we identify Brundan, Kleshchev and Wang's degree of tableaux with the weight of flows on webs and the $q$-degree of foams. We use these observations to give a "foamy" version of Hu and Mathas graded cellular basis of the cyclotomic Hecke algebra which turns out to be a graded cellular basis of the $\mathfrak{sl}_3$-web algebra. We restrict ourselves to …
We define a family of the braid group representations via the action of the $R$-matrix (of the quasitriangular extension) of the restricted quantum $\mathfrak{sl}(2)$ on a tensor power of a simple projective module. This family is an extension of the Lawrence representation specialized at roots of unity. Although the center of the braid group has finite order on the specialized Laurence representations, this action is faithful for our extension.
Let ${\mathfrak g}$ be a finite dimensional complex semisimple Lie algebra. The finite dimensional representations of the quantized enveloping algebra $U_q({\mathfrak g})$ form a braided monoidal category $O_{int}$. We show that the category of finite dimensional representations of a quantum symmetric pair coideal subalgebra $B_{c,s}$ of $U_q({\mathfrak g})$ is a braided module category over an equivariantization of $O_{int}$. The braiding for $B_{c,s}$ is realized by a universal K-matrix which lies in a completion of $B_{c,s}\otimes U_q({\mathfrak g})$. We apply these results to describe a di…
Let $\mathfrak{g}_0$ be a simple Lie algebra of type ADE and let $U'_q(\mathfrak{g})$ be the corresponding untwisted quantum affine algebra. We show that there exists an action of the braid group $B(\mathfrak{g}_0)$ on the quantum Grothendieck ring $K_t(\mathfrak{g})$ of Hernandez-Leclerc's category $C_{\mathfrak{g}}^0$. Focused on the case of type $A_{N-1}$, we construct a family of monoidal autofunctors $\{\mathscr{S}_i\}_{i\in \mathbb{Z}}$ on a localization $T_N$ of the category of finite-dimensional graded modules over the quiver Hecke algebra of type $A_{\infty}$. Under an isomorphism bet…
We extend Lawrence's representations of the braid groups to relative homology modules, and we show that they are free modules over a Laurent polynomials ring. We define homological operators and we show that they actually provide a representation for an integral version for $U_q \mathfrak{sl}(2)$. We suggest an isomorphism between a given basis of homological modules and the standard basis of tensor products of Verma modules, and we show it to preserve the integral ring of coefficients, the action of $U_q \mathfrak{sl}(2)$, the braid group representations and their grading. This recovers an in…
Let $V$ be a braided vector space of diagonal type. Let $\mathfrak B(V)$, $\mathfrak L^-(V)$ and $\mathfrak L(V)$ be the Nichols algebra, Nichols Lie algebra and Nichols braided Lie algebra over $V$, respectively. We show that a monomial belongs to $\mathfrak L(V)$ if and only if that this monomial is connected. We obtain the basis for $\mathfrak L(V)$ of arithmetic root systems and the dimension for $\mathfrak L(V)$ of finite Cartan type. We give the sufficient and necessary conditions for $\mathfrak B(V) = F\oplus \mathfrak L^-(V)$ and $\mathfrak L^-(V)= \mathfrak L(V)$. We obtain an explici…
We associate a monoidal category $\mathcal{H}_B$, defined in terms of planar diagrams, to any graded Frobenius superalgebra $B$. This category acts naturally on modules over the wreath product algebras associated to $B$. To $B$ we also associate a (quantum) lattice Heisenberg algebra $\mathfrak{h}_B$. We show that, provided $B$ is not concentrated in degree zero, the Grothendieck group of $\mathcal{H}_B$ is isomorphic, as an algebra, to $\mathfrak{h}_B$. For specific choices of Frobenius algebra $B$, we recover existing results, including those of Khovanov and Cautis--Licata. We also prove tha…
We categorify a coideal subalgebra of the quantum group of $\mathfrak{sl}_{2r+1}$ by introducing a $2$-category à la Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier, and show that self-dual indecomposable $1$-morphisms categorify the canonical basis of this algebra. This allows us to define a categorical action of this coideal algebra on the categories of modules over cohomology rings of partial flag varieties and on the BGG category $\mathcal{O}$ of type B/C.
We establish the relationship among Nichols algebras, Nichols braided Lie algebras and Nichols Lie algebras. We prove two results: (i) Nichols algebra $\mathfrak B(V)$ is finite-dimensional if and only if Nichols braided Lie algebra $\mathfrak L(V)$ is finite-dimensional if there does not exist any $m$-infinity element in $\mathfrak B(V)$; (ii) Nichols Lie algebra $\mathfrak L^-(V)$ is infinite dimensional if $ D^-$ is infinite. We give the sufficient conditions for Nichols braided Lie algebra $\mathfrak L(V)$ to be a homomorphic image of a braided Lie algebra generated by $V$ with defining re…
Associated to each subset $J$ of the nodes $I$ of a Dynkin diagram is a triangular decomposition of the corresponding Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ into three subalgebras $\widetilde{\mathfrak{g}_{J}}$ (generated by $e_{j}$, $f_{j}$ for $j\in J$ and $h_{i}$ for $i\in I$), $\mathfrak{n}^{-}_{D}$ (generated by $f_{d}$, $d\in D=I\setminus J$) and its dual $\mathfrak{n}_{D}^{+}$. We demonstrate a quantum counterpart, generalising work of Majid and Rosso, by exhibiting analogous triangular decompositions of $U_{q}(\mathfrak{g})$ and identifying a graded braided Hopf algebra that quantizes $\mathfrak{n…
It is shown that if $\mathfrak B(V) $ is connected Nichols algebra of diagonal type with $\dim V>1$, then $\dim (\mathfrak L^-(V)) = \infty$ $($resp. $ \dim (\mathfrak L(V)) = \infty $$)$ $($ resp. $ \dim (\mathfrak B(V)) = \infty $$)$ if and only if $Δ(\mathfrak B(V)) $ is an arithmetic root system and the quantum numbers (i.e. the fixed parameters) of generalized Dynkin diagrams of $V$ are of finite order. Sufficient and necessary conditions for $m$-fold adjoint action in $\mathfrak B(V)$ equal to zero, viz. $\overline{l}_{x_{i}}^{m}[x_{j}]^ -=0$ for $x_i,~x_j\in \mathfrak B(V)$, are given.
We prove {\rm (i)} Nichols algebra $\mathfrak B(V)$ of vector space $V$ is finite-dimensional if and only if Nichols braided Lie algebra $\mathfrak L(V)$ is finite-dimensional; {\rm (ii)} If the rank of connected $V$ is $2$ and $\mathfrak B(V)$ is an arithmetic root system, then $\mathfrak B(V) = F \oplus \mathfrak L(V);$ and {\rm (iii)} if $Δ(\mathfrak B(V))$ is an arithmetic root system and there does not exist any $m$-infinity element with $p_{uu} \not= 1$ for any $u \in D(V)$, then $\dim (\mathfrak B(V) ) = \infty$ if and only if there exists $V'$, which is twisting equivalent to $V$, such…
We study the classical limit of a family of irreducible representations of the quantum affine algebra associated to $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}$. After a suitable twist, the limit is a module for $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}[t]$, i.e., for the maximal standard parabolic subalgebra of the affine Lie algebra. Our first result is about the family of prime representations introduced in the context of a monoidal categorification of cluster algebras. We show that these representations specialize (after twisting), to $\mathfrak{sl}_{n+1}[t]$--stable, prime Demazure modules in level two integrable highest weight rep…
We study braid group actions on Yangians associated with symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie algebras. As an application, we focus on the affine Yangian of type A and use the action to prove that the image of the evaluation map contains the diagonal Heisenberg algebra inside $\hat{\mathfrak{gl}}_N$.
We show that in ADE type the trace of Webster's categorification of a tensor product of irreducibles for the quantum group is isomorphic to a tensor product of Weyl modules for the current algebra $\dot{U}(\mathfrak{g}[t])$. This extends a result of Beliakova, Habiro, Lauda, and Webster who showed that the trace of the categorified quantum group $\dot{\mathcal{U}}^*(\mathfrak{g})$ is isomorphic to $\dot{U}(\mathfrak{g}[t])$, and the trace of a cyclotomic quotient of $\dot{\mathcal{U}}^*(\mathfrak{g})$, which categorifies a single irreducible for the quantum group, is isomorphic to a Weyl modul…
Motivated by recent advances in the categorification of quantum groups at prime roots of unity, we develop a theory of 2-representations for 2-categories enriched with a p-differential which satisfy finiteness conditions analogous to those of finitary or fiat 2-categories. We construct cell 2-representations in this setup, and consider 2-categories stemming from bimodules over a p-dg category in detail. This class is of particular importance in the categorification of quantum groups, which allows us to apply our results to cyclotomic quotients of the categorifications of small quantum group of…
We construct knot invariants categorifying the quantum knot variants for all representations of quantum groups. We show that these invariants coincide with previous invariants defined by Khovanov for sl(2) and sl(3) and by Mazorchuk-Stroppel and Sussan for sl(n). Our technique uses categorifications of the tensor product representations of Kac-Moody algebras and quantum groups, constructed a prequel to this paper. These categories are based on the pictorial approach of Khovanov and Lauda. In this paper, we show that these categories are related by functors corresponding to the braiding and (co…

We show that if $V$ is a vertex operator algebra such that all the irreducible ordinary $V$-modules are $C_1$-cofinite and all the grading-restricted generalized Verma modules for $V$ are of finite length, then the category of finite length generalized $V$-modules has a braided tensor category structure. By applying the general theorem to the simple affine vertex operator algebra (resp. superalgebra) associated to a finite simple Lie algebra (resp. Lie superalgebra) $\mathfrak{g}$ at level $k$ and the category $KL_k(\mathfrak{g})$ of its finite length generalized modules, we discover several f…
In this paper we study the relative tensor product of module categories over braided fusion categories using, in part, the notion of the relative center of a module category. In particular we investigate the canonical tensor category structure and braiding inherited by the relative tensor product when module categories are themselves tensor/braided. As a basic example we show that the category of representations of the fibre product of finite groups may be expressed in terms of the relative product and show how to multiply braided fusion categories arising from pre-metric groups. Also, we cons…
