A Categorification of Quantum sl_3 Projectors and the sl_3 Reshetikhin-Turaev Invariant of Tangles

We construct a categorification of the quantum sl_3 projectors, the sl_3 analog of the Jones-Wenzl projectors, as the stable limit of the complexes assigned to k-twist torus braids (as k goes to infinity) in a suitably shifted version of Morrison and Nieh's geometric formulation of sl_3 link homology (math.GT/0612754). We use these projectors to give a categorification of the sl_3 Reshetikhin-Turaev invariant of framed tangles.

The Khovanov homology of infinite braids

We show that the limiting Khovanov chain complex of any infinite positive braid categorifies the Jones-Wenzl projector. This result extends Lev Rozansky's categorification of the Jones-Wenzl projectors using the limiting complex of infinite torus braids. We also show a similar result for the limiting Lipshitz-Sarkar-Khovanov homotopy types of the closures of such braids. Extensions to more general infinite braids are also considered.

Virtual Braids

In the present paper we give a new method for converting virtual knots and links to virtual braids. Indeed the braiding method given in this paper is quite general, and applies to all the categories in which braiding can be accomplished. We give a unifying topological interpretation of virtuals and flats (virtual strings) and their isotopies via ribbon surfaces and abstract link diagrams. A categorification of the stable SU(2) Witten-Reshetikhin-Turaev invariant of links in S2 x S1

The WRT invariant of a link L in S2xS1 at sufficiently high values of the level r can be expresses as an evaluation of a special polynomial invariant of L at 2r-th root of unity. We categorify this polynomial invariant by associating to L a bigraded homology whose graded Euler characteristic is equal to this polynomial. If L is presented as a closure of a tangle in S2xS1, then the homology of L is defined as the Hochschild homology of the H_n-bimodule associated to the tangle by M. Khovanov. Knot theory in handlebodies

We consider oriented knots and links in a handlebody of genus $g$ through appropriate braid representatives in $S^3$, which are elements of the braid groups $B_{g,n}$. We prove a geometric version of the Markov theorem for braid equivalence in the handlebody, which is based on the $L$-moves. Using this we then prove two algebraic versions of the Markov theorem. The first one uses the $L$-moves. The second one uses the Markov moves and conjugation in the groups $B_{g,n}$. We show that not all conjugations correspond to isotopies.

A Markov theorem for generalized plat decomposition

We prove a Markov theorem for tame links in a connected closed orientable 3-manifold $M$ with respect to a plat-like representation. More precisely, given a genus $g$ Heegaard surface $Σ_g$ for $M$ we represent each link in $M$ as the plat closure of a braid in the surface braid group $B_{g,2n}=π_1(C_{2n}(Σ_g))$ and analyze how to translate the equivalence of links in $M$ under ambient isotopy into an algebraic equivalence in $B_{g,2n}$. Representations of the Loop Braid Group and Aharonov-Bohm like effects in discrete (3+1)-dimensional higher gauge theory

We show that representations of the loop braid group arise from Aharonov-Bohm like effects in finite 2-group (3+1)-dimensional topological higher gauge theory. For this we introduce a minimal categorification of biracks, which we call W-bikoids (welded bikoids). Our main example of W-bikoids arises from finite 2-groups, realised as crossed modules of groups. Given a W-bikoid, and hence a groupoid of symmetries, we construct a family of unitary representations of the loop braid group derived from representations of the groupoid algebra. Satellites of an oriented surface link and their local moves

For an oriented surface link $F$ in $\mathbb{R}^4$, we consider a satellite construction of a surface link, called a 2-dimensional braid over $F$, which is in the form of a covering over $F$. We introduce the notion of an $m$-chart on a surface diagram $π(F)\subset \mathbb{R}^3$ of $F$, which is a finite graph on $π(F)$ satisfying certain conditions and is an extended notion of an $m$-chart on a 2-disk presenting a surface braid. Legendrian knots and constructible sheaves

We study the unwrapped Fukaya category of Lagrangian branes ending on a Legendrian knot. Our knots live at contact infinity in the cotangent bundle of a surface, the Fukaya category of which is equivalent to the category of constructible sheaves on the surface itself. Consequently, our category can be described as constructible sheaves with singular support controlled by the front projection of the knot.
