We study $b$-property of a sublattice (or an order ideal) $F$ of a vector lattice $E$. In particular, $b$-property of $E$ in $E^δ$, the Dedekind completion of $E$, $b$-property of $E$ in $E^u$, the universal completion of $E$, and $b$-property of $E$ in $\hat{E}(\hatτ)$, the completion of $E$.
We investigate the construction of a Hausdorff uo-Lebesgue topology on a vector lattice from a Hausdorff (o)-Lebesgue topology on an order dense ideal, and what the properties of the topologies thus obtained are. When the vector lattice has an order dense ideal with a separating order continuous dual, it is always possible to supply it with such a topology in this fashion, and the restriction of this topology to a regular sublattice is then also a Hausdorff uo-Lebesgue topology. A regular vector sublattice of $\mathrm{L}_0(X,Σ,μ)$ for a semi-finite measure $μ$ falls into this category, and the…
Let $C(X,I)$ be the lattice of all continuous functions on a compact Hausdorff space $X$ with values in the unit interval $I=[0,1]$. We show that for compact Hausdorff spaces $X$ and $Y$ and (not necessarily contain constants) sublattices $A$ and $B$ of $C(X,I)$ and $C(Y,I)$, respectively, which satisfy a certain separation property, any lattice isomorphism $φ: A \longrightarrow B$ induces a homeomorphism $μ: Y \longrightarrow X$. If, furthermore, $A$ and $B$ are closed under the multiplication, then $φ$ has a representation $φ(f)(y)=m_y(f(μ(y)))$, $f\in A$, for all points $y$ in a dense $G_δ$…
Let $E$ and $F$ be Banach lattices. Let $G$ be a vector sublattice of $E$ and $T: G\rightarrow F$ be an order continuous positive compact (resp. weakly compact) operators. We show that if $G$ is an ideal or an order dense sublattice of $E$, then $T$ has a norm preserving compact (resp. weakly compact) positive extension to $E$ which is likewise order continuous on $E$. In particular, we prove that every compact positive orthomorphism on an order dense sublattice of $E$ extends uniquely to a compact positive orthomorphism on $E$.
Let $Y$ be a sublattice of a vector lattice $X$. We consider the problem of identifying the smallest order closed sublattice of $X$ containing $Y$. It is known that the analogy with topological closure fails. Let $\overline{Y}^o$ be the order closure of $Y$ consisting of all order limits of nets of elements from $Y$. Then $\overline{Y}^o$ need not be order closed. We show that in many cases the smallest order closed sublattice containing $Y$ is in fact the second order closure $\overline{\overline{Y}^o}^o$. Moreover, if $X$ is a $σ$-order complete Banach lattice, then the condition that $\over…
The paper contains two main results that are obtained by Boolean valued analysis. The first asserts that a universally complete vector lattice without locally one-dimensional bands can be decomposed into a direct sum of two vector sublattices that are laterally complete and invariant under all band projections and there exists a band preserving linear isomorphism of each of these sublattices to the original lattice. The second result establishes a counterpart of the Ando Theorem on the joint characterization of $A\!L^p$ and $c_0$ for the class of cyclic Banach lattices, using the Boolean value…
Let $E$ be a sublattice of a vector lattice $F$. A net $\{ x_α\}_{α\in \mathcal{A}}\subseteq E$ is said to be $ F $-order convergent to a vector $ x \in E$ (in symbols $ x_α\xrightarrow{Fo} x $ in $E$), whenever there exists a net $ \{y_β\}_{β\in \mathcal{B}} $ in $F $ satisfying $ y_β\downarrow 0 $ in $F$ and for each $β$, there exists $α_0$ such that $ \vert x_α- x \vert \leq y_β$ whenever $ α\geq α_0 $. In this manuscript, first we study some properties of $F$-order convergence nets and we extend some results to the general cases. Let $E$ and $G$ be sublattices of vector lattices $F$ and $H…
A well-known classical result states that $c_0$ is linearly embeddable in a Banach lattice if and only if it is lattice embeddable. Improving results of H.P.~Lotz, H.P.~Rosenthal and N.~Ghoussoub, we prove that $C[0,1]$ shares this property with $c_0$. Furthermore, we show that any infinite-dimensional sublattice of $C[0,1]$ is either lattice isomorphic to $c_0$ or contains a sublattice isomorphic to $C[0,1]$. As a consequence, it is proved that for a separable Banach lattice $X$ the following conditions are equivalent: (1) $X$ is linearly embeddable in a Banach lattice if and only if it is la…
In this paper we find sufficient and necessary conditions under which vector lattice $C(X)$ and its sublattices $C_b(X)$, $C_0(X)$ and $C_c(X)$ have the countable sup property. It turns out that the countable sup property is tightly connected to the countable chain condition of the underlying topological space $X$. We also consider the countable sup property of $C(X\times Y)$. Even when both $C(X)$ and $C(Y)$ have the countable sup property it is possible that $C(X\times Y)$ fails to have it. For this construction one needs to assume the continuum hypothesis. In general, we present a positive …
Motivated by the Lipschitz-lifting property of Banach spaces introduced by Godefroy and Kalton, we consider the lattice-lifting property, which is an analogous notion within the category of Banach lattices and lattice homomorphisms. Namely, a Banach lattice $X$ satisfies the lattice-lifting property if every lattice homomorphism to $X$ having a bounded linear right-inverse must have a lattice homomorphism right-inverse. In terms of free Banach lattices, this can be rephrased into the following question: which Banach lattices embed into the free Banach lattice which they generate as a lattice-c…
The aim of this note is to consider different notions for the Banach-Saks property in locally solid vector lattices as an extension for the known concepts of the Banach-Saks property in Banach lattices. We investigate relations between them; in particular, we shall characterize spaces in which, these notions agree.
We define bidual bounded $uo$-convergence in vector lattices and investigate relations between this convergence and $b$-property. We prove that for a regular Riesz dual system $\langle X,X^{\sim}\rangle$, $X$ has $b$-property if and only if the order convergence in $X$ agrees with the order convergence in $X^{\sim\sim}$.
This paper deals with a property which is equivalent to generalised-lushness for separable spaces. It thus may be seemed as a geometrical property of a Banach space which ensures the space to have the Mazur-Ulam property. We prove that if a Banach space $X$ enjoys this property if and only if $C(K,X)$ enjoys this property. We also show the same result holds for $L_\infty(μ,X)$ and $L_1(μ,X)$.
We establish an approximate fixed point result for self-maps on compact convex subsets of Hausdorff topological vector spaces where continuity is not a necessary condition.
Let $E$ be a separable Banach space and $Ω$ be a compact Hausdorff space. It is shown that the space $C(Ω,E)$ has property (V) if and only if $E$ does. Similar result is also given for Bochner spaces $L^p(μ,E)$ if $1<p<\infty$ and $μ$ is a finite Borel measure on $Ω$.
In classical analysis, Lebesgue first proved that $\mathbb{R}$ has the property that each Riemann integrable function from $[a,b]$ into $\mathbb{R}$ is continuous almost everywhere. This property is named as the Lebesgue property. Though the Lebesgue property may be breakdown in many infinite dimensional spaces including Banach or quasi Banach spaces, to determine spaces having this property is still an interesting problem. In this paper, we study Riemann integration for vector-value functions in metrizable vector spaces and prove the fundamental theorems of calculus and primitives for continu…
It is shown that an ordered vector space $X$ is Archimedean if and only if $\inf\limits_{τ\in\{τ\}, y\in L}(x_τ-y) \ = 0$ for any bounded decreasing net $x_τ\downarrow$ in $X$, where $L$ is the collection of all lower bounds of $\{x_τ\}_τ$. We give also a characterization of the almost Archimedean property of $X$ in terms of existence of a linear extension of an additive mapping $T:Y_+\to X_+$ of the positive cone $Y_+$ of an ordered vector space $Y$ into $X_+$.

In this paper, we introduce the concept of quasi-point-separable topological vector spaces, which has the following important properties: 1.In general, the conditions for a topological vector space to be quasi-point-separable is not very difficult to check; 2.The class of quasi-point-separable topological vector spaces is very large that includes locally convex topological vector spaces and pseudonorm adjoint topological vector spaces as special cases; 3.Every quasi-point-separable Housdorrf topological vector space has the fixed point property (that is, every continuous self-mapping on any gi…
Let $( X,d )$ be a metric space with at least two elements and $( A , p_l )$ be a commutative semisimple Frechet algebra over the scalar field of complex numbers. The correlation between the BSE-property of the Frechet algebra $( A , p_l )$ and $\Lip_{d}( X , A )$ is assessed. It is found and approved that if $\Lip_{d}( X , A )$ is a BSE-Frechet algebra, then so is $A$. The opposite correlation will hold if $( A , p_l )$ is unital.
We prove that if a metric space $M$ has the finite CEP then $\mathcal F(M)\widehat{\otimes}_π X$ has the Daugavet property for every non-zero Banach space $X$. This applies, for instance, if $M$ is a Banach space whose dual is isometrically an $L_1(μ)$ space. If $M$ has the CEP then $L(\mathcal F(M),X)=\Lip(M,X)$ has the Daugavet property for every non-zero Banach space $X$, showing that this is the case when $M$ is an injective Banach space or a convex subset of a Hilbert space.
If $μ_1,μ_2,\dots$ are positive measures on a measurable space $(X,Σ)$ and $v_1,v_2, \dots$ are elements of a Banach space ${\mathbb E}$ such that $\sum_{n=1}^\infty \|v_n\| μ_n(X) < \infty$, then $ω(S)= \sum_{n=1}^\infty v_n μ_n(S)$ defines a vector measure of bounded variation on $(X,Σ)$. We show ${\mathbb E}$ has the Radon-Nikodym property if and only if every ${\mathbb E}$-valued measure of bounded variation on $(X,Σ)$ is of this form. As an application of this result we show that under natural conditions an operator defined on positive measures, has a unique extension to an operator defin…
In contrast with the separable case, we prove that the existence of almost $L$-orthogonal vectors in a nonseparable Banach space $X$ (octahedrality) does not imply the existence of nonzero vectors in $X^{**}$ being $L$-orthogonal to $X$, which shows that the answer to an environment question in [9] is negative. Furthermore, we prove that the abundance of almost $L$-orthogonal vectors in a Banach space $X$ (almost Daugavet property) whose density character is $ω_1$ implies the abundance of nonzero vectors in $X^{**}$ being $L$-orthogonal to $X$. In fact, we get that a Banach space $X$ whose den…
We consider a unitary representation of the Dihedral group $D_{2n}% =\mathbb{Z}_{n}\rtimes\mathbb{Z}_{2}$ obtained by inducing the trivial character from the co-normal subgroup $\left\{0\right\}\rtimes\mathbb{Z}_{2}.$ This representation is naturally realized as acting on the vector space $\mathbb{C}^{n}.$ We prove that the orbit of almost every vector in $\mathbb{C}^{n}$ with respect to the Lebesgue measure has the Haar property (every subset of cardinality $n$ of the orbit is a basis for $\mathbb{C}^{n}$) if $n$ is an odd integer. Moreover, we provide explicit sufficient conditions for vecto…
We formulate the saturation property for vector measures in lcHs as a nonseparability condition on the derived Boolean $σ$-algebras by drawing on the topological structure of vector measure algebras. We exploit a Pettis-like notion of vector integration in lcHs, the Bourbaki--Kluvánek--Lewis integral, to derive an exact version of the Lyapunov convexity theorem in lcHs without the BDS property. We apply our Lyapunov convexity theorem to the bang-bang principle in Lyapunov control systems in lcHs to provide a further characterization of the saturation property.
In this paper we show the weak Banach-Saks property of the Banach vector space $(L_μ^p)^m$ generated by $m$ $L_μ^p$-spaces for $1\leq p<+\infty,$ where $m$ is any given natural number. When $m=1,$ this is the famous Banach-Saks-Szlenk theorem. By use of this property, we also present inequalities for integrals of functions that are the composition of nonnegative continuous convex functions on a convex set of a vector space ${\bf R}^m$ and vector-valued functions in a weakly compact subset of the space $(L_μ^p)^m$ for $1\leq p<+\infty$ and inequalities when these vector-valued functions are in …
This part of a multi-paper project studies the lattice properties of the arithmetic mean ideals of B(H) introduced by Dykema, Figiel, Weiss, and Wodzicki. We prove: the lattices of all principal ideals, of arithmetic mean or arithmetic mean at infinity stable principal ideals or of principal ideals with a generator that satisfies the Delta_1/2 condition, are all both upper and lower dense in the lattice of general ideals. That is, between any ideal and an ideal (nested above or below respectively) in one of these sublattices, lies another ideal in that sublattice. Among the applications: a pri…

We show that for a sequence in a Banach space, the property of being stable under large perturbations characterizes the property of being equivalent to the unit vector basis of $l_1$. We show that a normalized unconditional basic sequence in $l_1$ that is semi-normalized in $l_\infty$ is equivalent to the standard unit vector basis of~$l_1$.
Let $\mathcal A$ be a separable Banach algebra, $G$ be a locally compact Hausdorff group and $1< p<\infty$. In this paper, we first provide a necessary and sufficient condition, for which $L^p(G,\mathcal A)$ is a Banach algebra, under convolution product. Then we characterize the character space of $L^p(G,\mathcal A)$, in the case where $\mathcal A$ is commutative and $G$ is abelian. Moreover, we investigate the BSE-property for $L^p(G,\mathcal A)$ and prove that $L^p(G,\mathcal A)$ is a BSE-algebra if and only if $\mathcal A$ is a BSE-algebra and $G$ is finite. Finally, we study the BSE-norm …
The Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property for operators deals with simultaneous approximation of an operator $T$ and a vector $x$ at which $T: X\rightarrow Y$ nearly attains its norm by an operator $F$ and a vector $z$, respectively, such that $F$ attains its norm at $z$. We study the possible estimates from above and from below for parameters that measure the rate of approximation in the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás property for operators for the case of $Y$ having the property $β$ of Lindenstrauss.

In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for which a finitely generated group has a property like Kazhdan's Property $(T)$ restricted to one isometric representation on a strictly convex Banach space without non-zero invariant vectors. Similarly, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for which a finitely generated group has a property like Property $(FH)$ restricted to the set of the affine isometric actions whose linear part are one isometric representation on a strictly convex Banach space without non-zero invariant vectors. If the Banach space is the $\ell^p$ space…
The free topological vector space $V(X)$ over a Tychonoff space $X$ is a pair consisting of a topological vector space $V(X)$ and a continuous map $i=i_{X}: X\rightarrow V(X)$ such that every continuous mapping $f$ from $X$ to a topological vector space $E$ gives rise to a unique continuous linear operator $\overline{f}: V(X)\rightarrow E$ with $f=\overline{f}\circ i$. In this paper the $k$-property and countable tightness of free topological vector space over some generalized metric spaces are studied. The characterization of a space $X$ is given such that the free topological vector space $V…
