In the present article, we study the Hawking effect and the bounds on greybody factor in a spacetime with radial deformation. This deformation is expected to carry the imprint of a non-Einsteinian theory of gravity, but shares some of the important characteristics of general relativity (GR). In particular, this radial deformation will restore the asymptotic behavior, and also allows for the separation of the scalar field equation in terms of the angular and radial coordinates -- making it suitable to study the Hawking effect and greybody factors. However, the radial deformation would introduce a change in the locations of the horizon, and therefore, the temperature of the Hawking effect naturally alters. In fact, we observe that the deformation parameter has an enhancing effect on both temperature and bounds on the greybody factor, which introduces a useful distinction with the Kerr spacetime. We discuss these effects elaborately, and broadly study the thermal behavior of a radially deformed spacetime.
It is well-known \cite{mtbh} that {\em all} black hole solutions of General Relativity are of Petrov-type D. It may thus be expected that the spacetime of {\em physically realizable} spherical gravitational collapse is also of Petrov-type D. We show that a radially homothetic spacetime, {\em ie}, a spherically symmetric spacetime with hyper-surface orthogonal, radial, homothetic Killing vector, is of Petrov-type D. As has been argued in \cite{prl1}, it is a spacetime of {\em physically realizable} spherical collapse.
We consider a spherically symmetric, Petrov-type D, spacetime with hyper-surface orthogonal, radial, homothetic Killing vector. In this work, some general properties of this spacetime for non-singular and non-degenerate data are presented. We also present the source-free electromagnetic fields in this spacetime. We then discuss general astrophysical relevance of the results obtained for this spacetime.
Recently, two kinds of deformed schwarzschild spacetime have been proposed, which are the black-bounces metric (\cite{2019JCAP...02..042S,2021PhRvD.103h4052L}) and quantum deformed black hole (BH) (\cite{2021arXiv210202471B}). In present work, we investigate the rotating spacetime of these deformed Schwarzschild metric. They are exact solutions to the Einstein$'$s field equation. We analyzed the properties of these rotating spacetimes, such as event horizon (EH), stationary limit surface (SIS), structure of singularity ring, energy condition (EC), etc., and found that these rotating spacetime …
When solving the equations of General Relativity in a symmetric sector, it is natural to consider the same symmetry for the geometry and stress-energy. This implies that for static and isotropic spacetimes, the most general natural stress-energy tensor is a sum of a perfect fluid and a radial imperfect fluid component. In the special situations where the perfect fluid component vanishes or is a spacetime constant, the solutions to Einstein's equations can be thought of as modified Schwarzschild and Schwarzschild-de Sitter spaces. Exact solutions of this type are derived and it is shown that wh…
We summarize some of the results we obtained in arXiv:1006.2126 (Physical Review Letters 106, 071301), arXiv:1102.4637 (Physics Letters B 700, 150-156) and in arXiv:1107.3334, giving complementary characterizations of the relativity of spacetime locality that affects certain Planck-scale-deformed phase-space descriptions of free particles.
We present approximate exterior and interior solutions of Einstein's equations which describe the gravitational field of a static deformed mass distribution. The deformation of the source is taken into account up to the first order in the quadrupole.
We provide a formula for estimating the redshift and its secular change (redshift drift) in Lemaître-Tolman-Bondi (LTB) spherically symmetric universes. We compute the scaling of the redshift drift for LTB models that predict Hubble diagrams indistinguishable from those of the standard cosmological model, the flat $Λ$ Cold Dark Matter ($Λ$CDM) model. We show that the redshift drift for these degenerate LTB models is typically different from that predicted in the $Λ$CDM scenario. We also highlight and discuss some unconventional redshift-drift signals that arise in LTB universes and give them d…
A class of noncanonical effective potentials is introduced allowing stable, radially symmetric, solutions to first order Bogomol'nyi equations for a real scalar field in a fixed spacetime background. This class of effective potentials generalizes those found previously by Bazeia, Menezes, and Menezes [Phys.Rev.Lett. 91 (2003) 241601] for radially symmetric defects in a flat spacetime. Use is made of the "on-shell method" introduced by Atmaja and Ramadhan [Phys.Rev.D 90 (2014) 10, 105009] of reducing the second order equation of motion to a first order one, along with a constraint equation. Thi…
Tidal indicators are commonly associated with the electric and magnetic parts of the Riemann tensor (and its covariant derivatives) with respect to a given family of observers in a given spacetime. Recently, observer-dependent tidal effects have been extensively investigated with respect to a variety of special observers in the equatorial plane of the Kerr spacetime. This analysis is extended here by considering a more general background solution to include the case of matter which is also endowed with an arbitrary mass quadrupole moment. Relation with curvature invariants and Bel-Robinson ten…
Schrödinger oscillators in a deformed point-like global monopole spacetime and a Wu-Yang magnetic monopole: position-dependent mass correspondence and isospectrality
We analyse the quantum geometry of 3-dimensional deformed special relativity (DSR) and the notion of spacetime points in such a context, identified with coherent states that minimize the uncertainty relations among spacetime coordinates operators. We construct this system of coherent states in both the Riemannian and Lorentzian case, and study their properties and their geometric interpretation.
We study the structure of the phase space of generic models of deformed special relativity that gives rise to a definition of velocity consistent with the deformed Lorentz symmetry. As a byproduct we also determine the laws of transformation of spacetime coordinates.
We show how a deformed composition law of four-momenta can be used to define, at the classical level, a modified notion of spacetime for a system of two particles through the crossing of worldlines in particle interactions. We present a derivation of a generic relativistic isotropic deformed kinematics and discuss the complementarity and relations with other derivations based on $κ$-Poincaré Hopf algebra or on the geometry of a maximally symmetric momentum space.

The interest of part of the quantum-gravity community in the possibility of Planck-scale-deformed Lorentz symmetry is also fueled by the opportunities for testing the relevant scenarios with analyses, from a signal-propagation perspective, of observations of bursts of particles from cosmological distances. In this respect the fact that so far the implications of deformed Lorentz symmetry have been investigated only for flat (Minkowskian) spacetimes represents a very significant limitation, since for propagation over cosmological distances the curvature/expansion of spacetime is evidently tangi…
We present a novel approach in constructing deviations of the Kerr spacetime whereas the symmetries can be preserved. The method was applied trivially in all known classical black-hole spacetimes tested, while provides the possibility of testing and inventing deformations of Kerr in a quick and innovative way. The methodology is based on earlier work by Benenti and Francaviglia (1979) on separability of geodesic equations while we exploited the elegant properties of Yano tensor in order to provide an additional way of getting the Carter constant.
A spacetime interpretation of deformed relativity symmetry groups was recently proposed by resorting to Finslerian geometries, seen as the outcome of a continuous limit endowed with first order corrections from the quantum gravity regime. In this work we further investigate such connection between deformed algebras and Finslerian geometries by showing that the Finsler geometries associated to the generalisation of the Poincaré group (the so called $κ$-Poincaré Hopf algebra) are maximally symmetric spacetimes which are also of the Berwald type: Finslerian spacetimes for which the connections ar…
We examine potential deformations of inner black hole and cosmological horizons in Reissner-Nordström de-Sitter spacetimes. While the rigidity of the outer black hole horizon is guaranteed by theorem, that theorem applies to neither the inner black hole nor past cosmological horizon. Further for pure deSitter spacetime it is clear that the cosmological horizon can be deformed (by translation). For specific parameter choices, it is shown that both inner black hole and cosmological horizons can be infinitesimally deformed. However these do not extend to finite deformations. The corresponding res…

Considering the existence of nonconformal stochastic fluctuations in the metric tensor a generalized uncertainty principle and a deformed dispersion relation (associated to the propagation of photons) are deduced. Matching our model with the so called quantum kappa--Poincare group will allow us to deduce that the fluctuation--dissipation theorem could be fulfilled without needing a restoring mechanism associated with the intrinsic fluctuations of spacetime. In other words, the loss of quantum information is related to the fact that the spacetime symmetries are described by the quantum kappa--P…
Deformed relativistic kinematics have been considered as a way to capture residual effects of quantum gravity. It has been shown that they can be understood geometrically in terms of a curved momentum space on a flat spacetime. In this article we present a systematic analysis under which conditions and how deformed relativistic kinematics, encoded in a momentum space metric on flat spacetime, can be lifted to curved spacetimes in terms of a self-consistent cotangent bundle geometry, which leads to purely geometric, geodesic motion of freely falling point particles. We comment how this construc…
It is now known that the shadow is not only the property of a black hole, it can also be cast by other compact objects like naked singularities. However, there exist some novel features of the shadow of the naked singularities which are elaborately discussed in some recent articles. In the earlier literature, it is also shown that a naked singularity may admit negative precession of bound timelike orbits which cannot be seen in Schwarzschild and Kerr black hole spacetimes. This distinguishable behavior of timelike bound orbit in the presence of the naked singularity along with the novel featur…
We study the quantum field theory (QFT) of a free, real, massless and curvature coupled scalar field on self-similar symmetric spacetimes, which are deformed by an abelian Drinfel'd twist constructed from a Killing and a homothetic Killing vector field. In contrast to deformations solely by Killing vector fields, such as the Moyal-Weyl Minkowski spacetime, the equation of motion and Green's operators are deformed. We show that there is a *-algebra isomorphism between the QFT on the deformed and the formal power series extension of the QFT on the undeformed spacetime. We study the convergent im…
We study a higher order conformally coupled scalar tensor theory endowed with a covariant geometric constraint relating the scalar curvature with the Gauss-Bonnet scalar. It is a particular Horndeski theory including a canonical kinetic term but without shift or parity symmetry for the scalar. The theory also stems from a Kaluza-Klein reduction of a well defined higher dimensional metric theory. Properties of an asymptotically flat spherically symmetric black hole are analyzed, and new slowly rotating and radiating extensions are found. Through disformal transformations of the static configura…
An integral kernel representation for the commutative $\star$-product on curved classical spacetime is introduced. Its convergence conditions and relationship to a Drin'feld differential twist are established. A $\star$-Einstein field equation can be obtained, provided the matter-based twist's vector generators are fixed to self-consistent values during the variation in order to maintain $\star$-associativity. Variations not of this type are non-viable as classical field theories. $\star$-Gauge theory on such a spacetime can be developed using $\star$-Ehresmann connections. While the theory pr…
This work is devoted to study the deformation of spacetime metrics as generalized conformal transformations. Some applications are also considered, in particular the equations of motion in deformed spacetime are studied.
The doubly special relativity (DSR) theories are suggested in order to incorporate an observer-independent length scale in special theory of relativity. The Magueijo-Smolin proposal of DSR is realizable through a particular form of the noncommutative (NC) spacetime (known as $κ$-Minkowski spacetime) in which the Lorentz symmetry is preserved. In this framework, the NC parameter $κ$ provides the origin of natural cutoff energy scale. Using a nonlinear deformed relativistic dispersion relation along with the Lorentz transformations, we investigate some phenomenological facets of two-body collisi…
We investigate the phenomenon of "faster than light" photons in a family of dilaton black hole spacetimes. For radially directed photons, we find that their light-cone condition is modified even though the spacetimes are spherically symmetric. They also satisfy the "horizon theorem" and the "polarization sum rule" of Shore. For orbital photons, the dilatonic effect on the modification of the light-cone condition can become more dominant than the electromagnetic and the gravitational ones as the orbit gets closer to the event horizon in the extremal or near-extremal cases.
We discuss the "quantum deformed Schwarzschild spacetime" as originally introduced by Kazakov and Solodukhin in 1993, and investigate the precise sense in which it does and does not satisfy the desiderata for being a "regular black hole". We shall carefully distinguish (i) regularity of the metric components, (ii) regularity of the Christoffel components, and (iii) regularity of the curvature. We shall then embed the Kazakov-Solodukhin spacetime in a more general framework where these notions are clearly and cleanly separated. Finally we analyze aspects of the classical physics of these "quant…
In recent years, Planck-scale modifications to particles' dispersion relation have been deeply studied for the possibility to formulate some phenomenology of Planckian effects in astrophysical and cosmological frameworks. There are some indications [arXiv:gr-qc/0611024] that Finsler geometry can provide some generalization of Riemannian geometry which may allow to account for non-trivial (Planckian) structure of relativistic particles' configuration space. We investigate the possibility to formalize Planck-scale deformations to relativistic models in curved spacetime, within the framework of F…
Studies of the effective regime of loop quantum gravity (LQG) revealed that, in the limit of Planckian curvature scales, spacetime may undergo a transition from the Lorentzian to Euclidean signature. This effect is a consequence of quantum modifications of the hypersurface deformation algebra, which in the linearized case is equivalent to a deformed version of the Poincaré algebra. In this paper the latter relation is applied to the LQG-inspired hypersurface deformation algebra that is characterized by the above mentioned signature change. While the exact form of the deformed Poincaré algebra …
Doubly special relativity has been studied for the last twenty years as a way to go beyond the special relativistic kinematics, trying to capture residual effects of a quantum gravity theory. In particular, in doubly special relativity the Einstenian relativity principle is generalized, adding to the speed of light another relativistic invariant, the Planck energy. There are several papers in the literature showing a connection between this deformed kinematics and a curved momentum space. Here we review how such kinematics can be derived from geometrical ingredients in a rigorous way, and how …
We argue that the natural framework for embedding the ideas of deformed, or doubly, special relativity (DSR) into a curved spacetime is a generalisation of Einstein-Cartan theory, considered by Stelle and West. Instead of interpreting the noncommuting "spacetime coordinates" of the Snyder algebra as endowing spacetime with a fundamentally noncommutative structure, we are led to consider a connection with torsion in this framework. This may lead to the usual ambiguities in minimal coupling. We note that observable violations of charge conservation induced by torsion should happen on a time scal…
The rich structure of solid state physics provides us with Dirac materials the effective theory of which enjoys the Lorentz symmetry. In non-symmorphic lattices, the Lorentz symmetry will be deformed in a way that the null energy-momentum vectors will correspond to on-shell condition for tilted Dirac cone dispersion. In this sense, tilted Dirac/Weyl materials can be viewed as solid state systems where the effective spacetime is non-Minkowski. In this work, we show that the polarization tensor for tilted Dirac cone systems acquires a covariant from only when the spacetime is considered to be an…
We developed realistic fully general relativistic computer code for simulation of optical projection in a strong, spherically symmetric gravitational field. Standard theoretical analysis of optical projection for an observer in the vicinity of a Schwarzschild black hole is extended to black hole spacetimes with a repulsive cosmological constant, i.e, Schwarzschild-de Sitter spacetimes. Influence of the cosmological constant is investigated for static observers and observers radially free-falling from static radius. Simulation includes effects of gravitational lensing, multiple images, Doppler …
We analyze the tidal forces produced in the spacetime of Reissner-Nordström black holes. We point out that the radial component of the tidal force changes sign just outside the event horizon if the charge-to-mass ratio is close to $1$ unlike in Schwarzschild spacetime of uncharged black holes, and that the angular component changes sign between the outer and inner horizons. We solve the geodesic deviation equations for radially falling bodies towards the charged black hole. We find, for example, that the radial component of the geodesic deviation vector starts decreasing inside the event horiz…
We study the symmetries of the Lorentz violating Randers-Finsler spacetime. The privileged frame defined by the background vector diagonalises the deformed mass-shell and provides an anisotropic observer transformations. The particle Randers transformations are achieved through the Finslerian Killing equation which also shows the equivalence between observer and particle Randers transformation. For a constant background vector, the Randers transformations can be regarded as a deformed directional-dependent Poincaré transformation. The Randers algebra is a deformed Poincaré algebra whose struct…
We summarize our recently proposed approach to quantum field theory on noncommutative curved spacetimes. We make use of the Drinfel'd twist deformed differential geometry of Julius Wess and his group in order to define an action functional for a real scalar field on a twist-deformed time-oriented, connected and globally hyperbolic Lorentzian manifold. The corresponding deformed wave operator admits unique deformed retarded and advanced Green's operators, provided we pose a support condition on the deformation. The solution space of the deformed wave equation is constructed explicitly and can b…
We study the $d$-dimensional Fisher solution which represents a static, spherically symmetric, asymptotically flat spacetime with a massless scalar field. The solution has two parameters, the mass and the "scalar charge." The Fisher solution has a naked curvature singularity which divides the spacetime manifold into two disconnected parts. The part which is asymptotically flat we call the {\em Fisher spacetime}, and another part we call the {\em Fisher universe}. The Schwarzschild-Tangherlini (ST) solution and the Fisher solution belong to the same theory and are dual to each other. The dualit…
A new Kerr-like metric with quadrupole moment is obtained by means of perturbing the Kerr spacetime. The form of this new metric is simple as the Kerr metric. By comparison with the exterior Hartle-Thorne metric, it is shown that it could be matched to an interior solution. This approximate metric may represent the spacetime of a real astrophysical object with any Kerr rotation parameter a and slightly deformed.
We clarify the relation between noncommutative spacetimes and multifractional geometries, two quantum-gravity-related approaches where the fundamental description of spacetime is not given by a classical smooth geometry. Despite their different conceptual premises and mathematical formalisms, both research programs allow for the spacetime dimension to vary with the probed scale. This feature and other similarities led to ask whether there is a duality between these two independent proposals. In the absence of curvature and comparing the symmetries of both position and momentum space, we show t…
We study the properties of a low-angular momentum, inviscid, advective accretion flow in a deformed Kerr spacetime under the framework of general theory of relativity. We solve the governing equations that describe the flow motion in terms of input parameters, namely energy ($E$), angular momentum ($λ$), spin ($a_{\rm k}$) and deformation parameter ($\varepsilon$), respectively. We find that global transonic accretion solutions continue to exist in non-Kerr spacetime. Depending on the input parameters, accretion flow is seen to experience shock transition and we find that shocked induced accre…

Over the last decade there were significant advances in the understanding of quantum gravity coupled to point particles in 3D (2+1-dimensional) spacetime. Most notably it is emerging that the theory can be effectively described as a theory of free particles on a momentum space with anti-deSitter geometry and with noncommutative spacetime coordinates of the type $[x^μ,x^ν]=i \hbar \ell \varepsilon^{μν}_{\phantom{μν}ρ} x^ρ$. We here show that the recently proposed relative-locality curved-momentum-space framework is ideally suited for accommodating these structures characteristic of 3D quantum g…
The Johannsen-Psaltis spacetime describes a rotating black hole with parametric deviations from the Kerr metric. By construction this spacetime explicitly violates the no-hair theorems. Rotating black hole solutions in any modified theory of gravity could be written in terms of the Johannsen-Psaltis metric. We examined the accretion of gas onto a black hole described by the static limit of this spacetime. We employed a potential that generalises the Paczynski-Wiita potential to the static Johannsen-Psaltis metric. Our analysis utilised a recent pseudo-Newtonian formulation of the dynamics arou…
We study the quasinormal modes of the massless scalar perturbation in the background of a deformed black hole in the Hořava-Lifshitz gravity with coupling constant $λ=1$. Our results show that the quasinormal frequencies depend on the parameter in the Hořava-Lifshitz gravity and the behavior of the quasinormal modes is different from those in the Reissner-Norstr\"{om} and Einstein-Born-Infeld black hole spacetimes. The absolute value of imaginary parts is smaller and the scalar perturbations decay more slowly in the deformed Hořava-Lifshitz black hole spacetime. This information can help us un…
In this article we study the quantization of a free real scalar field on a class of noncommutative manifolds, obtained via formal deformation quantization using triangular Drinfel'd twists. We construct deformed quadratic action functionals and compute the corresponding equation of motion operators. The Green's operators and the fundamental solution of the deformed equation of motion are obtained in terms of formal power series. It is shown that, using the deformed fundamental solution, we can define deformed *-algebras of field observables, which in general depend on the spacetime deformation…
Several types of static solutions to Einstein's equations coupled with antisymmetric tensor fields are found in $(2+N+1)$-dimensional spacetime. The solutions describe a product of a three-dimensional radially symmetric spacetime and an internal maximally symmetric manifold. The scale of the internal space may depend on the radial distance from the origin in these solutions.
In general relativity, all black holes in vacuum are described by the Kerr metric, which has only two independent parameters: the mass and the spin. The unique dependence on these two parameters is known as the no-hair theorem. This theorem may be tested observationally by using electromagnetic or gravitational-wave observations to map the spacetime around a candidate black hole and measure potential deviations from the Kerr metric. Several parametric frameworks have been constructed for tests of the no-hair theorem. Due to the uniqueness of the Kerr metric, any such parametric framework must …
