We consider a family of continuous processes $\{X^\varepsilon\}_{\varepsilon>0}$ which are measurable with respect to a white noise measure, take values in the space of continuous functions $C([0,1]^d:\mathbb{R})$, and have the Wiener chaos expansion
\[
X^\varepsilon = \sum_{n=0}^{\infty} \varepsilon^n I_n \big(f_n^{\varepsilon} \big).
\] We provide sufficient conditions for the large deviations principle of $\{X^\varepsilon\}_{\varepsilon>0}$ to hold in $C([0,1]^d:\mathbb{R})$, thereby refreshing a problem left open by Pérez-Abreu (1993) in the Brownian motion case. The proof is based on the weak convergence approach to large deviations: it involves demonstrating the convergence in distribution of certain perturbations of the original process, and thus the main difficulties lie in analysing and controlling the perturbed multiple stochastic integrals. Moreover, adopting this representation offers a new perspective on pathwise large deviations and induces a variety of applications thereof.
We study the solutions of the stochastic heat equation driven by spatially inhomogeneous multiplicative white noise based on a fractal measure. We prove pathwise uniqueness for solutions of this equation when the noise coefficient is Hölder continuous of index $γ>1-\fracη{2(η+1)}$. Here $η\in(0,1)$ is a constant that defines the spatial regularity of the noise.
We study the solutions of the stochastic heat equation with multiplicative space-time white noise. We prove a comparison theorem between the solutions of stochastic heat equations with the same noise coefficient which is Hölder continuous of index $γ>3/4$, and drift coefficients that are Lipschitz continuous. Later we use the comparison theorem to get sufficient conditions for the pathwise uniqueness for solutions of the stochastic heat equation, when both the white noise and the drift coefficients are Hölder continuous.
We consider strong uniqueness and thus also existence of strong solutions for the stochastic heat equation with a multiplicative colored noise term. Here, the noise is white in time and colored in q dimensional space ($q \geq 1$) with a singular correlation kernel. The noise coefficient is Hölder continuous in the solution. We discuss improvements of the sufficient conditions obtained in Mytnik, Perkins and Sturm (2006) that relate the Hölder coefficient with the singularity of the correlation kernel of the noise. For this we use new ideas of Mytnik and Perkins (2011) who treat the case of str…
The finite time blowup in the almost sure sense of a class of space-time fractional stochastic partial differential equations is discussed. Both the cases of white noise and colored noise are considered. The sufficient and necessary condition between the blowup and Osgood condition is obtained when the spatial domain is bounded. And the sufficient condition for the blowup is obtained when the spatial domain is the whole space. The results in this paper could be regarded as extensions to some results in Foondun and Nualart, 2021.

In this paper we study the pathwise uniqueness of solution to the following stochastic partial differential equation (SPDE) with Hölder continuous coefficient: \begin{eqnarray*} \frac{\partial X_t(x)}{\partial t}=\frac{1}{2} ΔX_t(x) +G(X_t(x))+H(X_{t-}(x)) \dot{L}_t(x),~~~ t>0, ~x\in\mathbb{R}, \end{eqnarray*} where $\dot{L}$ denotes an $α$-stable white noise on $\mathbb{R}_+\times \mathbb{R}$ without negative jumps, $G$ satisfies the Lipschitz condition and $H$ is nondecreasing and $β$-Hölder continuous for $1<α<2$ and $0<β<1$. For $G\equiv0$ and $H(x)=x^β$, in Mytnik (2002) a weak solution t…
In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of the quadratic variation for the class of AR(1) processes driven by white noise in the second Wiener chaos. Using tools from the analysis on Wiener space, we give an upper bound for the total-variation speed of convergence to the normal law, which we apply to study the estimation of the model's mean-reversion. Simulations are performed to illustrate the theoretical results.
We derive two estimates for the deviation of the $N$-particle, hard-spheres Kac process from the corresponding Boltzmann equation, measured in expected Wasserstein distance. Particular care is paid to the long-time properties of our estimates, exploiting the stability properties of the limiting Boltzmann equation at the level of realisations of the interacting particle system. As a consequence, we obtain an estimate for the propagation of chaos, uniformly in time and with polynomial rates, as soon as the initial data has a $k^\mathrm{th}$ moment, $k>2$. Our approach is similar to Kac's proposa…
We develop a McKean-Vlasov interpretation of Navier-Stokes equations with external force field in the whole space, by associating with local mild $L^p$-solutions of the 3d-vortex equation a generalized nonlinear diffusion with random space-time birth that probabilistically describes creation of rotation in the fluid due to nonconservativeness of the force. We establish a local well-posedness result for this process and a stochastic representation formula for the vorticity in terms of a vector-weighted version of its law after its birth instant. Then we introduce a stochastic system of 3d vorti…
We consider the Navier-Stokes equations in $\mathbb R^d$ ($d=2,3$) with a stochastic forcing term which is white noise in time and coloured in space; the spatial covariance of the noise is not too regular, so Itô calculus cannot be applied in the space of finite energy vector fields. We prove existence of weak solutions for $d=2,3$ and pathwise uniqueness for $d=2$.

We study a generalized 1d periodic SPDE of Burgers type: $$ \partial_t u =- A^θu + \partial_x u^2 + A^{θ/2} ξ$$ where $θ> 1/2$, $-A$ is the 1d Laplacian, $ξ$ is a space-time white noise and the initial condition $u_0$ is taken to be (space) white noise. We introduce a notion of weak solution for this equation in the stationary setting. For these solutions we point out how the noise provide a regularizing effect allowing to prove existence and suitable estimates when $θ>1/2$. When $θ>5/4$ we obtain pathwise uniqueness. We discuss the use of the same method to study different approximations of t…
We show that, for general convolution approximations to a large class of log-correlated fields, including the 2d Gaussian free field, the critical chaos measures with derivative normalisation converge to a limiting measure μ'. This limiting measure does not depend on the choice of approximation. Moreover, it is equal to the measure obtained using the Seneta--Heyde renormalisation at criticality, or using a white-noise approximation to the field.
In this article, we give a new proof of the Itô formula for some integral processes related to the space-time Lévy white noise introduced in Balan (2015) as an alternative for the Gaussian white noise perturbing an SPDE. We discuss two applications of this result, which are useful in the study of SPDEs driven by a space-time Lévy noise with finite variance: a maximal inequality for the $p$-th moment of the stochastic integral, and the Itô representation theorem leading to a chaos expansion similar to the Gaussian case.
We consider the (unique) mild solution $u(t,x)$ of a 1-dimensional stochastic heat equation on $[0,T]\times\mathbb R$ driven by time-homogeneous white noise in the Wick-Skorokhod sense. The main result of this paper is the computation of the spatial derivative of $u(t,x)$, denoted by $\partial_x u(t,x)$, and its representation as a Feynman-Kac type closed form. The chaos expansion of $\partial_x u(t,x)$ makes it possible to find its (optimal) Hölder regularity especially in space.
Inspired by recent work of Alberts, Khanin and Quastel, we formulate general conditions ensuring that a sequence of multi-linear polynomials of independent random variables (called polynomial chaos expansions) converges to a limiting random variable, given by a Wiener chaos expansion over the d-dimensional white noise. A key ingredient in our approach is a Lindeberg principle for polynomial chaos expansions, which extends earlier work of Mossel, O'Donnell and Oleszkiewicz. These results provide a unified framework to study the continuum and weak disorder scaling limits of statistical mechanics…
We prove a chaos expansion for the 2D parabolic Anderson Model in small time, with the expansion coefficients expressed in terms of the annealed density function of the polymer in a white noise environment.
We establish a version of the Feynman-Kac formula for the multidimensional stochastic heat equation with a multiplicative fractional Brownian sheet. We use the techniques of Malliavin calculus to prove that the process defined by the Feynman-Kac formula is a weak solution of the stochastic heat equation. From the Feynman-Kac formula, we establish the smoothness of the density of the solution and the Hölder regularity in the space and time variables. We also derive a Feynman-Kac formula for the stochastic heat equation in the Skorokhod sense and we obtain the Wiener chaos expansion of the solut…

The Primitive Equations are a basic model in the study of large scale Oceanic and Atmospheric dynamics. These systems form the analytical core of the most advanced General Circulation Models. For this reason and due to their challenging nonlinear and anisotropic structure the Primitive Equations have recently received considerable attention from the mathematical community. In view of the complex multi-scale nature of the earth's climate system, many uncertainties appear that should be accounted for in the basic dynamical models of atmospheric and oceanic processes. In the climate community sto…
We study the convergence of $N-$particle systems described by SDEs driven by Brownian motion and Poisson random measure, where the coefficients depend on the empirical measure of the system. Every particle jumps with a jump rate depending on its position and on the empirical measure of the system. Jumps are simultaneous, that is, at each jump time, all particles of the system are affected by this jump and receive a random jump height that is centred and scaled in $N^{-1/2}.$ This particular scaling implies that the limit of the empirical measures of the system is random, describing the conditi…
The stochastic parabolic equations with random potentials, driving forces and initial conditions are considered. The Wick product is used to give sense to the product of two generalized stochastic processes, and the existence and uniqueness of solutions are proved via the chaos expansion method from white noise analysis. The estimates on coefficients in the chaos expansion form of the solutions are provided.
This paper identifies certain interesting mathematical problems of stochastic quantization type in the modeling of Laser propagation through turbulent media. In some of the typical physical contexts the problem reduces to stochastic Schrodinger equation with space-time white noise of Gaussian, Poisson and Levy type. We identify their mathematical resolution via stochastic quantization. Nonlinear phenomena such as Kerr effect can be modeled by stochastic nonlinear Schrodinger equation in the focusing case with space-time white noise. A treatment of stochastic transport equation, the Korteweg-de…

We consider a nonlinear differential equation under the combined influence of small state-dependent Brownian perturbations of size $\varepsilon$, and fast periodic sampling with period $δ$; $0<\varepsilon, δ\ll 1$. Thus, state samples (measurements) are taken every $δ$ time units, and the instantaneous rate of change of the state depends on its current value as well as its most recent sample. We show that the resulting stochastic process indexed by $\varepsilon,δ$, can be approximated, as $\varepsilon,δ\searrow 0$, by an ordinary differential equation (ODE) with vector field obtained by replac…
The present paper is a continuation of our previous work on the stochastic quantization of the $\exp(Φ)_2$-quantum field model on the two-dimensional torus. Making use of key properties of Gaussian multiplicative chaos and refining the method for singular SPDEs introduced in the previous work, we construct a unique time-global solution to the corresponding parabolic stochastic quantization equation in the full "$L^{1}$-regime" $\vertα\vert<\sqrt{8π}$ of the charge parameter $α$. We also identify the solution with an infinite-dimensional diffusion process constructed by the Dirichlet form appro…
This paper introduces a new generalized polynomial chaos expansion (PCE) comprising measure-consistent multivariate orthonormal polynomials in dependent random variables. Unlike existing PCEs, whether classical or generalized, no tensor-product structure is assumed or required. Important mathematical properties of the generalized PCE are studied by constructing orthogonal decomposition of polynomial spaces, explaining completeness of orthogonal polynomials for prescribed assumptions, exploiting whitening transformation for generating orthonormal polynomial bases, and demonstrating mean-square …
Gaussian Multiplicative Chaos (GMC) is informally defined as a random measure $e^{γX} \mathrm{d} x$ where $X$ is Gaussian field on $\mathbb R^d$ (or an open subset of it) whose correlation function is of the form $ K(x,y)= \log \frac{1}{|y-x|}+ L(x,y),$ where $L$ is a continuous function $x$ and $y$ and $γ=α+iβ$ is a complex parameter. In the present paper, we consider the case $γ\in \mathcal P'_{\mathrm{III}}$ where $$ \mathcal P'_{\mathrm{III}}:= \{ α+i β\ : α,γ\in \mathbb R , \ |α|<\sqrt{d/2}, \ α^2+β^2\ge d \}.$$ We prove that if $X$ is replaced by the approximation $X_\varepsilon$ obtaine…
A spline chaos expansion, referred to as SCE, is introduced for uncertainty quantification analysis. The expansion provides a means for representing an output random variable of interest with respect to multivariate orthonormal basis splines (B-splines) in input random variables. The multivariate B-splines are built from a whitening transformation to generate univariate orthonormal B-splines in each coordinate direction, followed by a tensor-product structure to produce the multivariate version. SCE, as it stems from compactly supported B-splines, tackles locally prominent responses more effec…
