While a large number of studies have focused on the nonequilibrium dynamics of a system when it is quenched instantaneously from a disordered phase to an ordered phase, such dynamics have been relatively less explored when the quench occurs at a finite rate. Here we study the slow quench dynamics in two paradigmatic models of classical statistical mechanics, {viz.}, one-dimensional kinetic Ising model and mean-field zero-range process, when the system is annealed slowly to the critical point. Starting from the time evolution equations for the spin-spin correlation function in the Ising model and the mass distribution in the zero-range process, we derive the Kibble-Zurek scaling laws. We then test a recent proposal that critical coarsening which is ignored in the Kibble-Zurek argument plays a role in the nonequilibrium dynamics close to the critical point. We find that the defect density in the Ising model and a scaled mass distribution in the zero-range process decay linearly to the respective value at the critical point with the time remaining until the end of the quench provided the final quench point is approached sufficiently fast, and sublinearly otherwise. As the linear scaling for the approach to the critical point also holds when a system following an instantaneous quench is allowed to coarsen for a finite time interval, we conclude that critical coarsening captures the scaling behavior in the vicinity of the critical point if the annealing is not too slow.
We consider the asymptotic state after a sudden quench of the magnetic field in the transverse field quantum Ising chain starting from excited states of the pre-quench Hamiltonian. We compute the thermodynamic entropies of the generalised Gibbs and the diagonal ensembles and we find that the generalised Gibbs entropy is always twice the diagonal one. We show that particular care should be taken in extracting the thermodynamic limit since different averages of equivalent microstates give different results for the entropies.
Through large-scale numerical simulations, we study the phase ordering kinetics of the $2d$ Ising Model after a zero-temperature quench from a high-temperature homogeneous initial condition. Analysing the behaviour of two important quantities -- the winding angle and the pair-connectedness -- we reveal the presence of a percolating structure in the pattern of domains. We focus on the pure case and on the random field and random bond Ising Model.
We investigate the out-of-equilibrium dynamics of the one-dimensional quantum Ising model after a sudden quench of the transverse magnetic field. While for a translationally invariant system the statistical description of the asymptotic order parameter correlations after the quench can be performed in terms of the generalized Gibbs ensemble, we show that a breaking of translational invariance, e.g., by perturbing the boundary conditions, disrupts its validity. This effect, which of course vanishes in the thermodynamic limit, is shown to be very important in the presence of disorder.
We present here the non-equilibrium dynamics of the recently studied quasiperiodic Ising model. The zero temperature phase diagram of this model mainly consists of three phases, where each of these three phases can have extended, localized or critically delocalized low energy excited states. We explore the nature of excitations in these different phases by studying the evolution of entanglement entropy after performing quenches of different strengths to different phases. Our results on non-equilibrium dynamics of entanglement entropy are concurrent with the nature of excitations discussed in R…
We study phase ordering dynamics in the three-dimensional nearest-neighbor Ising model, following rapid quenches from infinite to zero temperature. Results on various aspects, viz., domain growth, persistence, aging and pattern, have been obtained via the Glauber Monte Carlo simulations of the model on simple cubic lattice. These are analyzed via state-of-the-art methods, including the finite-size scaling, and compared with those for quenches to a temperature above the roughening transition. Each of these properties exhibit remarkably different behavior at the above mentioned final temperature…
We investigate the time evolution of the density of kinks in the spin-1/2 quantum Ising spin chain after a sudden quench in the transverse field strength, and find that it relaxes to a value which depends on the initial and the final values of the transverse field, with an oscillating power-law decay. We provide analytical estimates of the long-time behavior and of the asymptotic value reached after complete relaxation, and discuss the role of quantum criticality in the quench dynamics. We show that, for a dynamics at the critical point, the residual density of kinks after the quench can be de…
In this work we study numerically the final state of the two dimensional ferromagnetic critical Ising model after a quench to zero temperature. Beginning from equilibrium at $T_c$, the system can be blocked in a variety of infinitely long lived stripe states in addition to the ground state. Similar results have already been obtained for an infinite temperature initial condition and an interesting connection to exact percolation crossing probabilities has emerged. Here we complete this picture by providing a new example of stripe states precisely related to initial crossing probabilities for va…
We study the zero temperature quenching dynamics of various extensions of the transverse Ising model (TIM) when the transverse field is linearly quenched from $-\infty$ to $+\infty$ (or zero) at a finite and uniform rate. The rate of quenching is dictated by a characteristic scale given by $τ$. The density of kinks produced in these extended models while crossing the quantum critical points during the quenching process is calculated using a many body generalization of the Landau-Zener transition theory. The density of kinks in the final state is found to decay as $τ^{-1/2}$. In the first model…
The recently discovered dynamical phase transition denotes non-analytic behavior in the real time evolution of quantum systems in the thermodynamic limit and has been shown to occur in different systems at zero temperature [Heyl et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 110, 135704 (2013)]. In this paper we extend the analysis to non-zero temperature by studying a generalized form of the Loschmidt echo, the work distribution function, of a quantum quench in the transverse field Ising model. Although the quantitative behavior at non-zero temperatures still displays features derived from the zero temperature non…
We investigate a kinetic Ising model with several single-spin flip dynamics (including Metropolis and heat-bath) on quenched and annealed random regular graphs. As expected, on the quenched structures all proposed algorithms reproduce the same results since the conditions for the detailed balance and the Boltzmann distribution in an equilibrium are satisfied. However, on the annealed graphs situation is far less clear -- the network annealing disturbs the equilibrium moving the system away from it. Consequently, distinct dynamics lead to different steady states. We show that some algorithms ar…
The universality class, even the order of the transition, of the two-dimensional Ising model depends on the range and the symmetry of the interactions (Onsager model, Baxter-Wu model, Turban model, etc.), but the critical temperature is generally the same due to self-duality. Here we consider a sudden change in the form of the interaction and study the nonequilibrium critical dynamical properties of the nearest-neighbor model. The relaxation of the magnetization and the decay of the autocorrelation function are found to display a power law behavior with characteristic exponents that depend on …
We discuss the non-equilibrium dynamics of a Quantum Ising Chain (QIC) following a quantum quench of the transverse field and in the presence of a gaussian time dependent noise. We discuss the probability distribution of the work done on the system both for static and dynamic noise. While the effect of static noise is to smooth the low energy threshold of the statistic of the work, appearing for sudden quenches, a dynamical noise protocol affects also the spectral weight of such features. We also provide a detailed derivation of the kinetic equation for the Green's functions on the Keldysh con…
The standard phase-ordering process is obtained by quenching a system, like the Ising model, to below the critical point. This is usually done with periodic boundary conditions to insure ergodicity breaking in the low temperature phase. With this arrangement the infinite system is known to remain permanently out of equilibrium, i.e. there exists a well defined asymptotic state which is time-invariant but different from the ordered ferromagnetic state. In this paper we establish the critical nature of this invariant state, by demonstrating numerically that the quench dynamics with periodic and …
We study the time evolution in the transverse-field Ising chain subject to quantum quenches of finite duration, ie, a continuous change in the transverse magnetic field over a finite time. Specifically, we consider the dynamics of the total energy, one- and two-point correlation functions and Loschmidt echo during and after the quench as well as their stationary behaviour at late times. We investigate how different quench protocols affect the dynamics and identify universal properties of the relaxation.
We study an infinite range ferromagnetic Ising model in the presence of a transverse magnetic field which exhibits a quantum paramagnetic-ferromagnetic phase transition at a critical value of the transverse field. In the thermodynamic limit, the low-temperature properties of this model are dominated by the behavior of a single large classical spin governed by an anisotropic Hamiltonian. Using this property, we study the quench and AC dynamics of the model both numerically and analytically, and develop a correspondence between the classical phase space dynamics of a single spin and the quantum …
In systems belonging to the universality class of the random field Ising model, the standard hyperscaling relation between critical exponents does not hold, but is replaced by a modified hyperscaling relation. As a result, standard formulations of finite size scaling near critical points break down. In this work, the consequences of modified hyperscaling are analyzed in detail. The most striking outcome is that the free energy cost ΔF of interface formation at the critical point is no longer a universal constant, but instead increases as a power law with system size, ΔF proportional to $L^θ$, …
We study the transient between a fully disordered initial condition and a percolating structure in the low-temperature non-conserved order parameter dynamics of the bi-dimensional Ising model. We show that a stable structure of spanning clusters establishes at a time $t_p \simeq L^{α_p}$. Our numerical results yield $α_p=0.50(2)$ for the square and kagome, $α_p=0.33(2)$ for the triangular and $α_p=0.38(5)$ for the bowtie-a lattices. We generalise the dynamic scaling hypothesis to take into account this new time-scale. We discuss the implications of these results for other non-equilibrium proces…
We briefly review the Ising model with uncorrelated, quenched random-site or random-bond disorder, which has been controversial in both two and four dimensions. In these dimensions, the leading exponent alpha, which characterizes the specific-heat critical behaviour, vanishes and no Harris prediction for the consequences of quenched disorder can be made. In the two-dimensional case, the controversy is between the strong universality hypothesis which maintains that the leading critical exponents are the same as in the pure case and the weak universality hypothesis, which favours dilution-depend…
Fluctuation-dissipation relations, i.e., the relation between two-time correlation and linear response functions, were successfully used to search for signs of equilibration and to identify effective temperatures in the non-equilibrium behavior of a number of macroscopic classical and quantum systems in contact with thermal baths. Among the most relevant cases in which the effective temperatures thus defined were shown to have a thermodynamic meaning one finds the stationary dynamics of driven super-cooled liquids and vortex glasses, and the relaxation of glasses. Whether and under which condi…
In order to check on a recent suggestion that local scale invariance [M.Henkel et al. Phys.Rev.Lett. {\bf 87}, 265701 (2001)] might hold when the dynamics is of Gaussian nature, we have carried out the measurement of the response function in the kinetic Ising model with Glauber dynamics quenched to $T_C$ in $d=4$, where Gaussian behavior is expected to apply, and in the two other cases of the $d=2$ model quenched to $T_C$ and to below $T_C$, where instead deviations from Gaussian behavior are expected to appear. We find that in the $d=4$ case there is an excellent agreement between the numeric…
We study the slow quenching dynamics (characterized by an inverse rate, $τ^{-1}$) of a one-dimensional transverse Ising chain with nearest neighbor ferromagentic interactions across the quantum critical point (QCP) and analyze the Loschmidt overlap {measured using the subsequent temporal evolution of the final wave function (reached at the end of the quenching) with the final time-independent Hamiltonian}. Studying the Fisher zeros of the corresponding generalized "partition function", we probe non-analyticities manifested in the rate function of the return probability known as dynamical phase…
We numerically simulate the time evolution of the Ising field theory after quenches starting from the $E_8$ integrable model using the Truncated Conformal Space Approach. The results are compared with two different analytic predictions based on form factor expansions in the pre-quench and post-quench basis, respectively. Our results clarify the domain of validity of these expansions and suggest directions for further improvement. We show for quenches in the $E_8$ model that the initial state is not of the integrable pair state form. We also construct quench overlap functions and show that thei…
We consider the quantum quench dynamics of a Heisenberg-Ising spin ladder which is an archetypal model in which confinement of elementary excitations is triggered by internal interactions rather than an external field. We show that the confinement strongly affects the light cone structure of correlation functions providing signatures of the velocities of the mesons of the model. We also show that the meson masses can be measured from the real time analysis of the evolution of the order parameter.
We study analytically and numerically quench dynamics and defects formation in the quantum Ising model in the presence of a time-dependent transverse magnetic field. We generalize the Landau-Ziner formula to the case of non-adiabatic evolution of the quantum system. For a quasi-static magnetic field, with a slow dependence on time, our outcomes are similar to the results predicted by the Landau-Zener formula. However, a quench dynamics under a shock-wave load is more complicated. The final state of the system depends on the amplitude and pulse velocity, resulting in the mixture of ground and e…
Randomness is known to affect the dynamical behaviour of many systems to a large extent. In this paper we investigate how the nature of randomness affects the dynamics in a zero temperature quench of Ising model on two types of random networks. In both the networks, which are embedded in a one dimensional space, the first neighbour connections exist and the average degree is four per node. In the random model A, the second neighbour connections are rewired with a probability $p$ while in the random model B, additional connections between neighbours at Euclidean distance $l ~ (l >1)$ are introd…
We present a quantitative semi-classical theory for the non-equilibrium dynamics of transverse Ising chains after quantum quenches, in particular sudden changes of the transverse field strength. We obtain accurate predictions for the quench dependent relaxation times and correlation lengths, and also about the recurrence times and quasiperiodicity of time dependent correlations in finite systems with open or periodic boundary conditions. We compare the quantiative predictions of our semi-classical theory (local magnetization, equal time bulk-bulk and surface-to-bulk correlations, and bulk auto…
We study the role of the quench temperature $T_f$ in the phase-ordering kinetics of the Ising model with single spin flip in $d=2,3$. Equilibrium interfaces are flat at $T_f=0$, whereas at $T_f>0$ they are curved and rough (above the roughening temperature in $d=3$). We show, by means of scaling arguments and numerical simulations, that this geometrical difference is important for the phase-ordering kinetics as well. In particular, while the growth exponent $z=2$ of the size of domains $L(t)\sim t^{1/z}$ is unaffected by $T_f$, other exponents related to the interface geometry take different v…
Dynamic correlation and response functions of classical and quantum systems in thermal equilibrium are connected by fluctuation-dissipation theorems, which allow an alternative definition of their (unique) temperature. Motivated by this fundamental property, we revisit the issue of thermalization of closed many-body quantum systems long after a sudden quench, focussing on the non-equilibrium dynamics of the Ising chain in a critical transverse field. We show the emergence of distinct observable-dependent effective temperatures, which rule out Gibbs thermalization in a strict sense but might st…
Based on the obtained exact results we systematically study the quench dynamics of a one-dimensional spin-1/2 transverse field Ising model with zero- and finite-temperature initial states. We focus on the magnetization of the system after a sudden change of the external field and a coherent time-evolution process. With a zero-temperature initial state, the quench magnetic susceptibility as a function of the initial field strength exhibits strongly similar scaling behaviors to those of the static magnetic susceptibility, and the quench magnetic susceptibility as a function of the final field st…
We study the real-time dynamics of the order parameter $<σ(t)>$ in the Ising field theory after a quench in the fermion mass, which corresponds to a quench in the transverse field of the corresponding transverse field Ising chain. We focus on quenches within the ordered phase. The long-time behaviour is obtained analytically by a resummation of the leading divergent terms in a form-factor expansion for $<σ(t)>$. Our main result is the development of a method for treating divergences associated with working directly in the field theory limit. We recover the scaling limit of the corresponding re…
We study the time evolution of the local magnetization in the critical Ising chain in a transverse field after a sudden change of the parameters at a defect. The relaxation of the defect magnetization is algebraic and the corresponding exponent, which is a continuous function of the defect parameters, is calculated exactly. In finite chains the relaxation is oscillating in time and its form is conjectured on the basis of precise numerical calculations.
We study relaxation phenomena in the ferromagnetically ordered state of the Ising-like Heisenberg kagome antiferromagnets. We introduce the "weathervane loop" in order to characterize macroscopic degenerate ordered states and study the microscopic mechanism of the slow relaxation from a view point of the dynamics of the weathervane loop configuration. This mechanism may give a possible origin of the slow relaxation reported in recent experiments.
We consider zero-temperature, stochastic Ising models with nearest-neighbor interactions and an initial spin configuration chosen from a symmetric Bernoulli distribution (corresponding physically to a deep quench). Whether a final state exists, i.e., whether each spin flips only finitely many times as time goes to infinity (for almost every initial spin configuration and realization of the dynamics), or if not, whether every spin - or only a fraction strictly less than one - flips infinitely often, depends on the nature of the couplings, the dimension, and the lattice type. We review results, …
Dynamics of Ising models is a much studied phenomenon and has emerged as a rich field of present-day research. An important dynamical feature commonly studied is the quenching phenomenon below the critical temperature. In this thesis we have studied the zero temperature quenching dynamics of different Ising spin systems. First we have studied the zero temperature quenching dynamics of two dimensional Ising spin system with competating interactions. Then we have studied the effect of randomness or disorder on the quenching dynamics of Ising spin system. We have studied the effect of the nature …
We consider the stationary state properties of the reduced density matrix as well as spin-spin correlation functions after a sudden quantum quench of the magnetic field in the transverse field Ising chain. We demonstrate that stationary state properties are described by a generalized Gibbs ensemble. We discuss the approach to the stationary state at late times.
Following quenches from random initial configurations to zero temperature, we study aging during evolution of the ferromagnetic (nonconserved) Ising model towards equilibrium, via Monte Carlo simulations of very large systems, in space dimensions $d=2$ and $3$. Results for the two-time autocorrelations, obtained by using different acceptance probabilities for the spin-flip trial moves, are in agreement with each other. We demonstrate the scaling of this quantity with respect to $\ell/\ell_w$, where $\ell$ and $\ell_w$ are the average domain sizes at $t$ and $t_w$ $(\leqslant t)$, the observati…
Dynamics of quenching temperature is studied in pure and random Ising chains. Using the Kibble-Zurek argument, we obtain for the pure Ising model that the density of kinks after quenching decays as 1/\sqrtτ with the quench rate of temperature 1/τfor large τ. For the random Ising model, we show that decay rates of the density of kinks and the residual energy are 1/\lnτand 1/(\lnτ)^2 for large τrespectively. Analytic results for the random Ising model are confirmed by the Monte-Carlo simulation. Our results reveal a clear difference between classical and quantum quenches in the random Ising chai…
We consider the time evolution of order parameter correlation functions after a sudden quantum quench of the magnetic field in the transverse field Ising chain. Using two novel methods based on determinants and form factor sums respectively, we derive analytic expressions for the asymptotic behaviour of one and two point correlators. We discuss quenches within the ordered and disordered phases as well as quenches between the phases and to the quantum critical point. We give detailed account of both methods.
We study the dynamics of the critical two-dimensional fully-frustrated Ising model by means of Monte Carlo simulations. The dynamical exponent is estimated at equilibrium and is shown to be compatible with the value $z_c=2$. In a second step, the system is prepared in the paramagnetic phase and then quenched at its critical temperature $T_c=0$. Numerical evidences for the existence of logarithmic corrections in the aging regime are presented. These corrections may be related to the topological defects observed in other fully-frustrated models. The autocorrelation exponent is estimated to be $λ…
We consider the non-equilibrium dynamics after a sudden quench of the magnetic field in the transverse field Ising chain starting from excited states of the pre-quench Hamiltonian. We prove that stationary values of local correlation functions can be described by the generalised Gibbs ensemble (GGE). Then we study the full time evolution of the transverse magnetisation by means of stationary phase methods. The equal time two-point longitudinal correlation function is analytically derived for a particular class of excited states for quenches within the ferromagnetic phase, and studied numerical…
We study the response to sudden local perturbations of highly excited Quantum Ising Spin Chains. The key quantity encoding this response is the overlap between time-dependent wave functions, which we write as a two-times Loschmidt echo. Its asymptotics at long time differences contains crucial information about the structure of the highly excited non-equilibrium environment induced by the quench. We compute the Echo perturbatively for a weak local quench but for arbitrarily large global quench, using a cumulant expansion. Our perturbative results suggest that the Echo decays exponentially, rat…
Frequency evolutions of hysteresis loop area and hysteresis tools such as remanence and coercivity of a kinetic Ising model in the presence of quenched bond dilution are investigated in detail. The kinetic equation describing the time dependence of the magnetization is derived by means of effective-field theory with single-site correlations. It is found that the frequency dispersions of hysteresis loop area, remanence and coercivity strongly depend on the quenched bond randomness, as well as applied field amplitude and oscillation frequency. In addition, the shape of the hysteresis curves for …
Via Monte Carlo simulations we study pattern and aging during coarsening in nonconserved nearest neighbor Ising model, following quenches from infinite to zero temperature, in space dimension $d=3$. The decay of the order-parameter autocorrelation function is observed to obey a power-law behavior in the long time limit. However, the exponent of the power-law, estimated accurately via a state-of-art method, violates a well-known lower bound. This surprising fact has been discussed in connection with a quantitative picture of the structural anomaly that the 3D Ising model exhibits during coarsen…
The kicked Ising model with both a pulsed transverse and a continuous longitudinal field is studied numerically. Starting from a large transverse field and a state that is nearly an eigenstate, the pulsed transverse field is quenched with a simultaneous enhancement of the longitudinal field. The generation of multipartite entanglement is observed along with a phenomenon akin to quantum resonance when the entanglement does not evolve for certain values of the pulse duration. Away from the resonance, the longitudinal field can drive the entanglement to near maximum values that is shown to agree …
We study quantum quenches in the transverse-field Ising model defined on different lattice geometries such as chains, two- and three-leg ladders, and two-dimensional square lattices. Starting from fully polarized initial states, we consider the dynamics of the transverse and the longitudinal magnetization for quenches to weak, strong, and critical values of the transverse field. To this end, we rely on an efficient combination of numerical linked cluster expansions (NLCEs) and a forward propagation of pure states in real time. As a main result, we demonstrate that NLCEs comprising solely recta…
We present an extensive study of the effects of quenched disorder on the dynamic phase transitions of kinetic spin models in two dimensions. We undertake a numerical experiment performing Monte Carlo simulations of the square-lattice random-bond Ising and Blume-Capel models under a periodically oscillating magnetic field. For the case of the Blume-Capel model we analyze the universality principles of the dynamic disordered-induced continuous transition at the low-temperature regime of the phase diagram. A detailed finite-size scaling analysis indicates that both nonequilibrium phase transition…
We discuss the interplay between the degree of dynamical stochasticity, memory persistence and violation of the self-averaging property in the aging kinetics of quenched ferromagnets. We show that, in general, the longest possible memory effects, which correspond to the slowest possible temporal decay of the correlation function, are accompanied by the largest possible violation of self-averaging and a quasi-deterministic descent into the ergodic components. This phenomenon is observed in different systems, such as the Ising model with long-range interactions, including mean-field, and the sho…
We study the slow quench dynamics of a one-dimensional nonequilibrium lattice gas model which exhibits a phase transition in the stationary state between a fluid phase with homogeneously distributed particles and a jammed phase with a macroscopic hole cluster. Our main result is that in the critical region ({\it i.e.}, at the critical point and in its vicinity) where the dynamics are assumed to be frozen in the standard Kibble-Zurek argument, the defect density exhibits an algebraic decay in the inverse annealing rate with an exponent that can be understood using critical coarsening dynamics. …
We use Glauber dynamics to study frequency and temperature dependence of hysteresis loops in the pure (without quenched disorder) Ising model on cubic, square, honeycomb lattices and random graphs. Results are discussed in the context of more extensive studies of hysteresis in the random field Ising model.
Consider a dynamical many-body system with a random initial state subsequently evolving through stochastic dynamics. What is the relative importance of the initial state ("nature") vs. the realization of the stochastic dynamics ("nurture") in predicting the final state? We examined this question for the two-dimensional Ising ferromagnet following an initial deep quench from $T=\infty$ to $T=0$. We performed Monte Carlo studies on the overlap between "identical twins" raised in independent dynamical environments, up to size $L=500$. Our results suggest an overlap decaying with time as $t^{-θ_h}…
The Ising and BEG models critical behavior is analyzed in 2D and 3D by means of a renormalization group scheme on small clusters made of a few lattice cells. Different kinds of cells are proposed for both ordered and disordered model cases. In particular, cells preserving a possible antiferromagnetic ordering under decimation allow for the determination of the Néel critical point and its scaling indices. These also provide more reliable estimates of the Curie fixed point than those obtained using cells preserving only the ferromagnetic ordering. In all studied dimensions, the present procedure…
We studied the dynamical phase transition in kinetic Ising ferromagnets driven by oscillating magnetic field in meanfield approximation. The meanfield differential equation was solved by sixth order Runge-Kutta-Felberg method. The time averaged magnetisation plays the role of the dynamic order parameter. We studied the relaxation behaviour of the dynamic order parameter close to the transition temperature, which depends on the amplitude of the applied magnetic field. We observed the critical slowing down along the dynamic phase boundary. We proposed a power law divergence of the relaxation tim…
The slow dynamics (10^-6 s - 10^4 s) of the magnetization in the paramagnetic phase, predicted by Glauber for 1d Ising ferromagnets, has been observed with ac susceptibility and SQUID magnetometry measurements in a molecular chain comprising alternating Co{2+} spins and organic radical spins strongly antiferromagnetically coupled. An Arrhenius behavior with activation energy Delta=152 K has been observed for ten decades of relaxation time and found to be consistent with the Glauber model. We have extended this model to take into account the ferrimagnetic nature of the chain as well as its heli…
In contrast to lattice systems where powerful numerical techniques such as matrix product state based methods are available to study the non-equilibrium dynamics, the non-equilibrium behaviour of continuum systems is much harder to simulate. We demonstrate here that Hamiltonian truncation methods can be efficiently applied to this problem, by studying the quantum quench dynamics of the 1+1 dimensional Ising field theory using a truncated free fermionic space approach. After benchmarking the method with integrable quenches corresponding to changing the mass in a free Majorana fermion field theo…
