We present comparisons between 3+1D quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics (aHydroQP) predictions for a large set of bulk observables and experimental data collected in 5.02 TeV Pb-Pb collisions. We make aHydroQP predictions for identified hadron spectra, identified hadron average transverse momentum, charged particle multiplicity as a function of pseudorapidity, the kaon-to-pion ($K/π$) and proton-to-pion ($p/π$) ratios, and integrated elliptic flow. We compare to data collected by the ALICE collaboration in 5.02 TeV Pb-Pb collisions. We find that these bulk observables are quite well described by aHydroQP with an assumed initial central temperature of $T_0=630$ MeV at $τ_0 = 0.25$ fm/c and a constant specific shear viscosity of $η/s=0.159$ and a peak specific bulk viscosity of $ζ/s = 0.048$. In particular, we find that the momentum dependence of the kaon-to-pion ($K/π$) and proton-to-pion ($p/π$) ratios reported recently by the ALICE collaboration are extremely well described by aHydroQP in the most central collisions.
In this proceedings contribution, we will review the basics of quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics. Then, we will present some recent phenomenological results of 3+1d quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics and Pb-Pb $2.76$ TeV collisions from the ALICE collaboration. We show that 3+1d quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics model is able to describe the experimental results for Pb-Pb collisions at $2.76$ TeV quite well for many observables such as the spectra, the elliptic flow, and HBT radii in many centrality classes.
We study an azimuthally-symmetric boost-invariant quark-gluon plasma using quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics including the effects of both shear and bulk viscosities. We compare results obtained using the quasiparticle method with the standard anisotropic hydrodynamics and viscous hydrodynamics. We consider the predictions of the three methods for the differential particle spectra and mean transverse momentum. We find that the three methods agree for small shear viscosity to entropy density ratio, $η/s$, but show differences at large $η/s$. Additionally, we find that the standard anisotr…
We use quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics to study an azimuthally-symmetric boost-invariant quark-gluon plasma including the effects of both shear and bulk viscosities. In quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics, a single finite-temperature quasiparticle mass is introduced and fit to the lattice data in order to implement a realistic equation of state. We compare results obtained using the quasiparticle method with the standard method of imposing the equation of state in anisotropic hydrodynamics and viscous hydrodynamics. Using these three methods, we extract the primordial particle spec…
We present the derivation of second-order relativistic viscous hydrodynamics from an effective Boltzmann equation for a system consisting of quasiparticles of a single species. We consider temperature-dependent masses of the quasiparticles and devise a thermodynamically-consistent framework to formulate second-order evolution equations for shear and bulk viscous pressure corrections. The main advantage of this formulation is that one can consistently implement realistic equation of state of the medium within the framework of kinetic theory. Specializing to the case of one-dimensional purely-lo…
A novel formulation of second-order relativistic viscous fluid dynamics based on the effective Boltzmann equation for quasi-particles with medium-dependent masses is briefly reviewed.~The evolution equations for the shear and bulk dissipative corrections, and the corresponding transport coefficients, are presented. Resulting approach allows for thermodynamically-consistent incorporation of lattice QCD equation of state in the fluid dynamical framework.
We present a new method for imposing a realistic equation of state in anisotropic hydrodynamics. The method relies on the introduction of a single finite-temperature quasiparticle mass which is fit to lattice data. By taking moments of the Boltzmann equation, we obtain a set of coupled partial differential equations which can be used to describe the 3+1d spacetime evolution of an anisotropic relativistic system. We then specialize to the case of a 0+1d system undergoing boost-invariant Bjorken expansion and subject to the relaxation-time approximation collisional kernel. Using this setup, we c…
We present the first comparisons of experimental data with phenomenological results from 3+1d quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics (aHydroQP). We compare charged-hadron multiplicity, identified-particle spectra, identified-particle average transverse momentum, charged-particle elliptic flow, and identified-particle elliptic flow produced in LHC 2.76 TeV Pb+Pb collisions. The dynamical equations used for the hydrodynamic stage utilize non-conformal aHydroQP. The resulting aHydroQP framework naturally includes both shear and bulk viscous effects in addition to higher-order non-linear transpor…
In this proceedings, we review the basics of quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics (aHydroQP). Thenwe present phenomenological comparisons between 3+1d quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics and experimental data from RHIC experiments at 200 GeV Au-Au collisions. We show that 3+1d aHydroQP model is able to describe the experimental results quite well for the spectra, multiplicity, and elliptic flow for charged particles in different centrality classes.
We make predictions for momentum-integrated elliptic and triangular flow as well as mean transverse momentum for 5.02 TeV Pb-Pb collisions, as planned at the Large Hadron Collider. We use hydrodynamic calculations to predict the change of these observables as the center-of-mass collision energy evolves from 2.76 TeV to 5.02 TeV per nucleon pair. By using previously measured values as a baseline, we are able to make a robust prediction without relying on a particular model for initial conditions and without precise knowledge of medium properties such as viscosity. Thus, though the predicted cha…
We use quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics to study the non-conformal and non-extensive dynamics of a system undergoing boost-invariant Bjorken expansion. To introduce nonextensivity, we use an underlying Tsallis distribution with a time-dependent nonextensivity parameter $q$. By taking moments of the quasiparticle Boltzmann equation in the relaxation-time approximation, we obtain dynamical equations which allow us to determine the time evolution of all microscopic parameters including $q$. We compare numerical solutions for bulk observables obtained using the nonextensive evolution with r…
In this proceedings contribution, we review 3+1d quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics (aHydroQP). Then, we show some recent phenomenological comparisons between the aHydroQP model and some experimental results. We show comparisons between aHydroQP and Pb-Pb 2.76 TeV collisions from the ALICE collaboration and Au-Au 200 GeV collisions from RHIC experiments. We show that the quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics model is able to describe the experimental results for Pb-Pb and Au-Au collisions quite well for many observables such as the spectra, multiplicity, elliptic flow, and HBT radii in …
In the Israel-Stewart's theory of second order hydrodynamics, we have simulated $\sqrt{s}$=2.76 TeV Pb+Pb collisions. ALICE data for the centrality dependence of charged particles multiplicity, $p_T$ spectra in 0-5% collisions, centrality dependence of integrated and differential elliptic flow are analysed. Analysis indicate that while ALICE data on charged particles multiplicity or $p_T$ spectra do not demand any viscosity, viscosity is demanded by the elliptic flow data. From a simulataneous fit to all the data sets, viscosity to entropy ratio in $\sqrt{s}_{NN}$=2.76 TeV Pb+Pb collisions is …
In Israel-Stewart's theory of dissipative hydrodynamics, we have analyzed the recent ALICE data for the centrality dependence of charged particle multiplicity, centrality dependence of integrated elliptic flow and 0-5% charged particles $p_T$ spectra in $\sqrt{s}_{NN}$=2.76 TeV Pb+Pb collisions and determined the initial or the thermalisation time. Analysis indicate that the ALICE data disfavor very early thermalsiation $τ_i$=0.2 fm, or very late thermalsation $τ_i$= 4fm. Data are best explained for thermalisation time $τ_i=0.88^{-0.14}_{+0.68}$ fm.
At finite temperature, the hydrodynamic collective modes of superfluid trapped Fermi gases are coupled to the motion of the normal component, which in the BCS limit behaves like a collisionless normal Fermi gas. The coupling between the superfluid and the normal components is treated in the framework of a semiclassical transport theory for the quasiparticle distribution function, combined with a hydrodynamic equation for the collective motion of the superfluid component. We develop a numerical test-particle method for solving these equations in the linear response regime. As a first applicatio…
Within Israel-Stewart's theory of dissipative hydrodynamics, we have analyzed ALICE data for the centrality dependence of charged particles multiplicity, elliptic flow and $p_T$ spectra in $\sqrt{s}_{NN}$=2.76 TeV Pb+Pb collisions and obtained the temperature dependence of the QGP viscosity over the entropy ratio ($\etas$). If temperature dependence of $\etas$ is parameterized as $\etas=α\frac{T-T_c}{T_c}+\frac{1}{4π}$, experimental data favor $α$ in the range 0-0.2. $α\geq 0.4$ is not favored by the data. Experimental data in $\sqrt{s}_{NN}$=200 GeV Au+Au collisions however, prefer $α$=0.4.
The transverse momentum spectra for direct photons produced in Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC, including thermal (hydrodynamics) and prompt (pQCD) emissions are presented.
The single inclusive charged hadron pT spectra in Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC, predicted by a combined hydrodynamics+perturbative QCD (pQCD) approach are presented.
We compare phenomenological results from 3+1d quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics (aHydroQP) with experimental data collected in LHC 2.76 TeV Pb-Pb collisions. In particular, we present comparisons of particle spectra, average transverse momentum, elliptic flow, and HBT radii. The aHydroQP model relies on the introduction of a single temperature-dependent quasiparticle mass which is fit to lattice QCD data. By taking moments of the resulting Boltzmann equation, we obtain the dynamical equations used in the hydrodynamic stage which include the effects of both shear and bulk viscosities. At …
Using the newest data for pp scattering at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) combined with the Glauber model, we make hydrodynamic predictions for the soft hadronic observables planned to be measured in the forthcoming Pb+Pb collisions at 2.76 TeV.
Predictions and comparisons of hadronic flow observables for Pb+Pb collisions at 2.76 A TeV and 5.02 A TeV are presented using a hydrodynamics + hadronic cascade hybrid approach. Initial conditions are generated via a new formulation of the IP-Glasma model and then evolved using relativistic viscous hydrodynamics and finally fed into transport cascade in the hadronic phase. The results of this work show excellent agreement with the recent charged hadron anisotropic flow measurements from the ALICE collaboration of Pb+Pb collisions at 5.02 A TeV. Event-by-event distributions of charged hadron v…
We argue that relativistic hydrodynamics is able to make robust predictions for soft particle production in Xe+Xe collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The change of system size from Pb+Pb to Xe+Xe provides a unique opportunity to test the scaling laws inherent to fluid dynamics. Using event-by-event hydrodynamic simulations, we make quantitative predictions for several observables: mean transverse momentum, anisotropic flow coefficients, and their fluctuations. Results are shown as function of collision centrality.
The matter created in central p+p, p+Pb and Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt{s}=5.02 TeV is simulated event-by-event using the superSONIC model, which combines pre-equilibrium flow, viscous hydrodynamic evolution and late-stage hadronic rescatterings. Employing a generalization of the Monte Carlo Glauber model where each nucleon possesses three constituent quarks, superSONIC describes the experimentally measured elliptic and triangular flow at central rapidity in all systems using a single choice for the fluid parameters, such as shear and bulk viscosities. This suggests a common hydrodynamic origin o…
There is little doubt that hydrodynamic flow has been observed in heavy ion collisions at the LHC and RHIC, mainly based on results on azimuthal anisotropies, but also on particle spectra of identified particles, perfectly compatible with hydrodynamic expansions. Surprisingly, in p-Pb collisions one observes a very similar behavior. So do we see flow even in p-Pb? We will try to answer this question.
In this paper we review recent progress in relativistic anisotropic hydrodynamics. We begin with a pedagogical introduction to the topic which takes into account the advances in our understanding of this topic since its inception. We consider both conformal and non-conformal systems and demonstrate how one can implement a realistic equation of state using a quasiparticle approach. We then consider the inclusion of non-spheroidal (non-ellipsoidal) corrections to leading-order anisotropic hydrodynamics and present the findings of the resulting second-order viscous anisotropic hydrodynamics frame…
We investigate scaling properties of the elliptical flow parameter v_{2} in PbPb Collisions at 2.76 TeV within a recently introduced new theoretical scheme which accounts for hydrodynamically expanding bulk matter, jets, and the interaction between the two.
In this paper, we investigate the hydrodynamic collectivity in proton--proton (pp) collisions at 13 TeV, using iEBE-VISHNU hybrid model with HIJING initial conditions. With properly tuned parameters, our model simulations can remarkably describe all the measured 2-particle correlations, including integrated and differential elliptic flow coefficients for all charged and identified hadrons ($K_S^0$, $Λ$). However, our model calculations show positive 4-particle cumulant $c_{2}\{4\}$ in high multiplicity pp collisions, and can not reproduce the negative $c_{2}\{4\}$ measured in experiment. Furth…
We calculate the triangular flow parameter $v_3$ of thermal photons from an event-by-event ideal hydrodynamic model for $0--40\%$ central collisions of Pb nuclei at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=2.76 TeV at LHC. $v_3$ determined with respect to the participant plane (PP) is found to be non-zero, positive and its $p_T$ dependence is qualitatively similar to the elliptic flow parameter $v_2$(PP) of thermal photons in the range $1 \le p_T \le 6$ GeV/$c$. In the range $p_T \, \le $ 3 GeV/$c$, $v_3$(PP) is found to be about $50--75\%$ of $v_2$(PP) and for $p_T \, >$ 3 GeV/$c$ the two anisotropy parameters become…
Direct photon production, in $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=200 GeV Au+Au and in $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=2.76 TeV Pb+Pb collisions, are studied in a hydrodynamic model. Ideal hydrodynamic model, initialised to reproduce experimentally charged particle spectra in RHIC and LHC energy, also reproduces the PHENIX and ALICE measurements for the direct photon spectra in Au+Au collisions at RHIC and Pb+Pb collisions at LHC. The model however produces less elliptic flow than in experiment. Discrepancy between experiment and hydrodynamic simulation is comparatively less in Pb+Pb collisions at LHC than in Au+Au collisions at …
In high energy collisions of heavy-ions, experimental findings of collective flow are customarily associated with the presence of a thermalized medium expanding according to the laws of hydrodynamics. Recently, the ATLAS, CMS and ALICE experiments found signals of the same type and magnitude in ultrarelativistic proton-proton collisions. In this study, the state-of-the-art hydrodynamic model SONIC is used to simulate the systems created in p+p collisions. By varying the size of the second-order transport coefficients, the range of applicability of hydrodynamics itself to the systems created in…
We calculate the elliptic flow of charged particles in Pb-Pb collisions at 2.76 TeV in relativistic viscous hydrodynamics. The recent data of the ALICE Collaboration on the elliptic flow as function of the centrality can be very well described using the hydrodynamic expansion of a fluid with a small shear viscosity eta/s=0.08. The elliptic flow as function of the transverse momentum shows systematic deviations from a hydrodynamic behavior in the small momenta region pt<800MeV. It indicates that a non-negligible contribution of non-thermalized particles from jet fragmentation is present.
The deuteron binding energy is only 2.2 MeV. At the same time, its yield in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = $2.76 TeV corresponds to a thermal yield at the temperature around 155 MeV, which is too hot to keep deuterons bound. This puzzle is not completely resolved yet. In general, the mechanism of light nuclei production in ultra-high energy heavy ion collisions remains under debate. In a previous work [1] we suggest a microscopic explanation of the deuteron production in central ultra-relativistic Pb+Pb collisions, the main mechanism being $πpn \leftrightarrow πd$ reactions in the hadron…
Using the newly developed hybrid model VISHNU which connects viscous hydrodynamics with a hadron cascade model, we study the differential and integrated elliptic flow v_2 at different centrality bins for 200 A GeV Au+Au collisions and 2.76 A TeV Pb+Pb collisions. We find that the average Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP) specific shear viscosity eta/s slightly increases from Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) to Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies. However, a further study assuming different temperature dependencies for (eta/s)_QGP shows that one cannot uniquely constrain the form of (eta/s)_QGP(T…
Hydrodynamic simulations are used to make predictions for the integrated elliptic flow coefficient v_2 in sqrt(s)=5.5 TeV lead-lead and sqrt(s)=14 TeV proton-proton collisions at the LHC. We predict a 10% increase in v_2 from RHIC to Pb+Pb at LHC, and v_2 ~ 0 in p+p collisions unless eta/s < 0.08.
A study of hadronic data up to TEVATRON energies in terms of relativistic hydrodynamics indicates an extended 1-dimensional stage of the expansion which suggests a jet like behaviour of the fireball along the collision axis.
We apply the hydrodynamic model for the dynamics of matter created in p-Pb collisions at 4.4TeV and d-Pb collisions at 3.11TeV. The fluctuating initial conditions are calculated in the Glauber Monte-Carlo model for several centrality classes. The expansion is performed event by event in 3+1-dimensional viscous hydrodynamics. Noticeable elliptic and triangular flows appear in the distributions of produced particles.
In this article, we briefly review recent progress on hydrodynamic modeling and its implementations to relativistic heavy-ion collisions at RHIC and the LHC. The related topics include: 1) initial state fluctuations, final state correlations and event-by-event hydrodynamics, 2) extracting the QGP shear viscosity from flow data, 3) flow and hydrodynamics in 5.02 A TeV p+Pb collisions.
Flow signatures in experimental data from relativistic ion collisions are usually interpreted as a fingerprint of the presence of a hydrodynamic phase during the evolution of these systems. In this work, flow signatures arising from event-by-event viscous hydrodynamics are compared to those arising from event-by-event non-interacting particle dynamics (free-streaming), both followed by a late-stage hadronic cascade, in d+Au, 3He+Au at sqrt(s)=200 GeV and p+Pb collisions at sqrt(s)=5 TeV, respectively. For comparison, also Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt(s)=2.76 TeV are simulated. It is found that non…
We compute bottomonium suppression and elliptic flow within the pNRQCD effective field theory using an open quantum systems approach. For the hydrodynamical background, we use 2+1D MUSIC second-order viscous hydrodynamics with IP-Glasma initial conditions and evolve bottom/antibottom quantum wave packets in real time in these backgrounds. We find that the impact of fluctuating initial conditions is small when compared to results obtained using smooth initial conditions. Including the effect of fluctuating initial conditions, we find that the Upsilon(1S) integrated elliptic flow is v_2[1S] = 0.…
In this review, we present the motivation for using relativistic anisotropic hydrodynamics to study the physics of ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. We then highlight the main ingredients of the 3+1D quasiparticle anisotropic hydrodynamics model and present phenomenological comparisons with experimental data at different collision energies. These comparisons show that anisotropic hydrodynamics can describe many bulk observables of the quark-gluon plasma.
Femtoscopy is providing information on system size and its dynamics in heavy-ion collisions. At ultra-relativistic energies, such as those obtained at the LHC, significant production of pions, kaons and protons enables femtoscopic measurements for these particles. In particular the dependence of system size on pair momentum and particle type is interpreted as evidence for strong collective flow. Such phenomena are naturally modeled by hydrodynamics. We present calculations within the 3+1D hydrodynamic model coupled to statistical hadronization code THERMINATOR 2, corresponding to Pb--Pb collis…
Combining the hydrodynamic model (Hydro code) and the transport model (PACIAE model), we present the Hydro-PACIAE hybrid model. We use the Hydro-PACIAE hybrid model to calculate Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=130 GeV and Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=2.76 TeV. The obtained pseudo-rapidity and transverse momentum distributions well reproduce the experimental data. This shows that the Hydro-PACIAE hybrid model is useful to describe the ultrarelativistic Heavy Ion Collisions at RHIC and LHC Energies. We used the hybrid model to calculate the elliptical flow for the Pb+Pb collisions at …
We implement a Langevin approach for the transport of charm quarks in the UrQMD (hydrodynamics + Boltzmann) hybrid model. Due to the inclusion of event-by-event fluctuations and a full (3+1) dimensional hydrodynamic evolution, this approach provides a more realistic model for the evolution of the matter produced in heavy ion collisions as compared to simple homogeneous fireball expansions usually employed. As drag and diffusion coefficients we use a resonance approach for elastic heavy-quark scattering and assume a decoupling temperature of the charm quarks from the hot medium of 130 MeV. A co…
We explore the possibility of observing elliptic flow in low multiplicity events in central pp collisions at LHC energy, $\sqrt{s}$=14 TeV. It is assumed that the initial interactions produces a number of hot spots. Hydrodynamical evolution of two or more hot spots can generate sufficiently large elliptic flow to be accessible experimentally in 4-th order cumulant analysis.
The experimentally measured elliptic ($v_{2}$) and hexadecapole ($v_{4}$) flow of charged particles as a function of transverse momentum ($p_{T}$) at midrapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV are compared with the relativistic viscous hydrodynamic model simulations. The simulations are carried out for two different initial energy density profiles obtained from (i) Glauber model, and (ii) Color Glass Condensate (CGC) model. Comparison to experimental data for 10-20% to 40-50% centrality, shows that a centrality dependent shear viscosity to entropy density ($η/s$) rat…
In high energy heavy-ion collisions, the final anisotropic flow coefficients and their corresponding event-plane correlations are considered as the medium evolutional response to the initial geometrical eccentricities and their corresponding participant-plane correlations. We formulate a systematic theoretical analysis to study the hydrodynamical responses concerning higher order effects in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\text{NN}}=2.76$ TeV by using Monte Carlo Glauber (MC-Glauber) model. To further understand the transformations of the initial participant-plane correlation, we construct a new …
Under the assumption that a quark-gluon plasma droplet is produced and its evolution can be described by hydrodynamics in p + A collisions, $γ$-triggered hadron spectra are studied within a next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD parton model with the medium-modified parton fragmentation functions. The initial conditions and space-time evolution of the small QGP droplet are provided by the superSONIC hydrodynamic model simulations and parton energy loss in such a medium is described by the high-twist (HT) approach. The scaled jet transport coefficient $\hat{q}/T^3$ in this HT approach is extrac…
We highlight some of the interesting properties of a new and finite, exact family of solutions of 1 + 1 dimensional perfect fluid relativistic hydrodynamics. After reviewing the main properties of this family of solutions, we present the formulas that connect it to the measured rapidity and pseudo-rapidity densities and illustrate the results with fits to p+p collisions at 8 TeV and Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 5.02 $ TeV.
Results from the RHIC and LHC experiments show, that in relativistic heavy ion collisions, a new state of matter, a strongly interacting perfect fluid is created. Accelerating, exact and explicit solutions of relativistic hydrodynamics allow for a simple and natural description of this medium. A finite rapidity distribution arises from these solutions, leading to an advanced estimate of the initial energy density of high energy collisions. These solutions can be utilized to describe various aspects of proton-proton collisions, as originally suggested by Landau. We show that an advanced estimat…
The transverse momentum distributions of hadrons produced in p-p collisions at LHC energies of Root(sNN) = 0.9 TeV, 2.76 TeV and Root(sNN) = 7.0 TeV have been studied using a unified statistical thermal freeze-out model. A good agreement is seen between the theoretical calculations and experimental data. The extracted thermal freeze-out parameters reveal the presence of significant collective flow and a well defined temperature in the system thus indicating the formation of a thermally equilibrated hydrodynamic system in p-p collisions at LHC. The transverse momentum distributions of protons a…
Particle production in Pb-Pb collisions at 2.76 TeV is studied in the (3+1)-dimensional viscous hydrodynamic model. The shapes of the calculated transverse momentum spectra of pions, kaons, protons, Xis, and Omegas are in satisfactory agreement with preliminary data of the ALICE Collaboration, while the particle ratio proton/pion is slightly overpredicted, and the strange barion yields are underpredicted.
In this paper, we continue our phenomenological studies of heavy-ion collisions using 3+1d anisotropic hydrodynamics (aHydro). In previous works, we compared quasiparticle aHydro (aHydroQP) with ALICE 2.76 TeV Pb-Pb and RHIC 200 GeV Au-Au collision results. At both energies, the agreement was quite good between aHydroQP and the experimental data for many observables. In this work, we present comparisons of the Hanbury Brown--Twiss (HBT) radii and their ratios determined using pi+ pi+ pairs produced in 200 GeV Au-Au collisions. We first present comparisons with STAR results for the HBT radii an…
We study untriggered di-hadron correlations in Pb+Pb at 2.76 TeV, based on an event-by-event simulation of a hydrodynamic expansion starting from flux tube initial conditions. The correlation function shows interesting structures as a function of the pseudorapidity difference $Δη$ and the azimuthal angle difference $Δϕ$, in particular comparing different centralities. We can clearly identify a peak-like nearside structure associated with very low momentum components of jets for peripheral collisions, which disappears towards central collisions. On the other hand, a very broad ridge structure f…
By the methods of mathematical statistics we test a qualitative prediction of the old theory of relativistic hydrodynamics non-viscous liquid which can be used as a part of the process of hadronization within the modern hydrodynamical approach for the description of the quark-gluon plasma. Experimental data on the interaction of protons with the energies of 0.8 TeV with emulsion nuclei are used. Results do not contradict the formation of relativistic ideal non-viscous liquid in rare central collisions.
