In this paper, we study on semi-invariant submanifolds of normal complex contact metric manifolds. We give the definition of such submanifolds and we obtain useful relations. Moreover, we give the integrability conditions of distributions.
We introduce a class of half lightlike submanifolds of almost contact B-metric manifolds and prove that such submanifolds are semi-Riemannian with respect to the associated B-metric. Object of investigations are also minimal of the considered submanifolds and a non-trivial example for them is given.
First, we prove that indefinite Sasakian manifolds do not admit any screen conformal $r$-null submanifolds, tangent to the structure vector field. We, therefore, define a special class of null submanifolds, called; {\it contact screen conformal} $r$-null submanifold of indefinite Sasakian manifolds. Several characterization results, on the above class of null submanifolds, are proved. In particular, we prove that such null submanifolds exist in indefinite Sasakian space forms of constant holomorphic sectional curvatures of $-3$.
This research article introduces the concept of lightlike submanifolds of an indefinite Kenmotsu statistical manifold. Various results on geometry of contact CR and SCR-lightlike submanifolds have been developed. Some characterization theorems on the integrability of distributions and on the geodesicity of these submanifolds have been obtained. Appropriate examples have been presented.
In this paper, we obtain Chen's inequalities for submanifolds in $(κ,μ)$-contact space form with two kinds of generalized semi-symmetric non-metric connections.
We show that $ϕ$-invariant submanifolds of metric contact pairs with orthogonal characteristic foliations make constant angles with the Reeb vector fields. Our main result is that for the normal case such submanifolds of dimension at least $2$ are all minimal. We prove that an odd-dimensional $ϕ$-invariant submanifold of a metric contact pair with orthogonal characteristic foliations inherits a contact form with an almost contact metric structure, and this induced structure is contact metric if and only if the submanifold is tangent to one Reeb vector field and orthogonal to the other one. Fur…
The present paper is a continuation of our previous work, where a class of half lightlike submanifolds of almost contact B-metric manifolds was introduced. We study curvature properties of totally and screen totally umbilical such submanifolds as well as of the corresponding semi-Riemannian submanifolds with respect to the associated B-metric.
Recently, B.-Y. Chen and O. J. Garay studied pointwise slant submanifolds of almost Hermitian manifolds. By using the notion of pointwise slant submanifolds, we investigate the geometry of pointwise semi-slant submanifolds and their warped products in Sasakian and cosymplectic manifolds. We prove that there exist no proper pointwise semi-slant warped product submanifold other than contact CR-warped products in Sasakian manifolds. We give non-trivial examples of such submanifolds in cosypmlectic manifolds and obtain several fundamental results, including a characterization for warped product po…
B.-Y. Chen initiated the study of warped product submanifolds in his fundamental seminal papers \cite{C1,C2,C2.1}. In this paper, we study contact CR-warped product submanifolds of cosymplectic space forms and prove an optimal inequality by using Gauss and Codazzi equations. In addition, we obtain two geometric inequalities for contact CR-warped product submanifolds with a compact invariant factor.
In this paper, we present the invalidities of the results in [3], because of their definition of a semi-invariant submanifold of an almost complex contact metric manifold is not true .
As a generalization of slant submanifolds and semi-slant submanifolds, we introduce the notions of pointwise slant submanifolds and pointwise semi-slant sunmanifolds of an almost contact metric manifold. We obtain a characterization at each notion, investigate the topological properties of pointwise slant submanifolds, and give some examples of them. We also consider some distributions on cosymplectic, Sasakian, Kenmotsu manifolds and deal with some properties of warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds. Finally, we give some inequalities for the squared norm of the second fundamental …
The present paper deals with the study of pseudo parallel (in the sense of Chaki and in the sense of Deszcz) contact CR-submanifolds with respect to Levi-Civita connection as well as semisymmetric metric connection of Kenmotsu manifolds and prove that these corresponding two classes are equivalent with a certain condition.
In this paper, we study warped products of contact skew-CR submanifolds, called contact skew CR-warped products. We establish an inequality for the squared norm of the second fundamental form in terms of the warping function and the slant angle. The equality case in the statement of the inequality is investigated and some applications of derived inequality are given. Furthermore, we provide a non-trivial example of such submanifolds.
We introduce higher order mean curvatures of screen almost conformal (SAC) half-lightlike submanifolds of indefinite contact manifolds, admitting a semi-symmetric non-metric connection, and use them to generalize some known results of [6]. Also, we derive a new set of integration formulae via the divergence of some special vector fields tangent to this submanifold. Several examples are also included to illustrate the main concepts.
This paper has two goals; the first is to generalize results for the existence and nonexistence of warped product submanifolds of almost contact manifolds, accordingly a self-contained reference of such submanifolds is offered to save efforts of potential research. Most of the results of this paper are general and decisive enough to generalize both discovered and not discovered results. Moreover, a discrete example of contact CR-warped product submanifold in Kenmotsu manifold is constructed. For further research direction, we addressed a couple of open problems arose from the results of this p…
We characterize biharmonic anti-invariant surfaces in $3$-dimensional generalized $(κ, μ)$-manifolds with non-zero constant mean curvature by means of the scalar curvature of the ambient space and the mean curvature. In addition, we give a method for constructing infinity many examples of biharmonic submanifolds in a certain $3$-dimensional generalized $(κ, μ)$-manifold. Moreover, we determine $3$-dimensional generalized $(κ, μ)$-manifolds which admit a certain kind of proper biharmonic foliation.
We study invariant submanifolds of manifolds endowed with a normal or complex metric contact pair with decomposable endomorphism field $ϕ$. For the normal case, we prove that a $ϕ$-invariant submanifold tangent to a Reeb vector field and orthogonal to the other one is minimal. For a $ϕ$-invariant submanifold $N$ everywhere transverse to both the Reeb vector fields but not orthogonal to them, we prove that it is minimal if and only if the angle between the tangential component $ξ$ (with respect to $N$) of a Reeb vector field and the Reeb vector field itself is constant along the integral curves…
In this paper, homology of a contact CR-submanifold of a real hypersurface, which has naturally almost contact metric structure induced from the complex Euclidean space $\mathbb{C}^{m}$, is examined. More precisely, nonexistence of stable integral currents on a compact contact CR-submanifold of real hypersurface of canonical complex space form $\mathbb{C}^m$ is investigated and vanishing theorems concerning the homology groups are obtained.
Unlike Legendrian submanifolds, the deformation problem of coisotropic submanifolds can be obstructed. Starting from this observation, we single out in the contact setting the special class of integral coisotropic submanifolds as the direct generalization of Legendrian submanifolds for what concerns deformation and moduli theory. Indeed, being integral coisotropic is proved to be a rigid condition, and moreover the integral coisotropic deformation problem is unobstructed with discrete moduli space.
We establish two main inequalities; one for the norm of the second fundamental form and the other for the matrix of the shape operator. The results obtained are for cosymplectic manifolds and, for these, we show that the contact warped product submanifolds naturally possess a geometric property; namely $\mathcal{D}_1$-minimality which, by means of the Gauss equation, allows us to obtain an optimal general inequality. For sake of generalization, we state our hypotheses for nearly cosymplectic manifolds, then we obtain them as particular cases for cosymplectic manifolds. For the other part of th…
In this paper I have studied about CR(Cauchy-Riemann)-submanifolds of Lorentzian Concircular Structure manifold ((LCS)n-manifold), Lorentzian Para-Sasakian(LP)-cosymplectic manifold, S-manifold and Generalized Kenmotsu (GKM) manifold. I have discussed some results regarding distribution, structure vector field, totally geodesic submanifold, leaf etc.. I have obtained results on totally umbilical contact CR-submanifold where the anti-invariant distribution has some properties. Next, I have studied some results about D-totally geodesic CR-submanifold (D is the distribution), a contact CR-submani…
We are proposing Tulczyjew's triple for contact dynamics. The most important ingredients of the triple, namely symplectic diffeomorphisms, special symplectic manifolds, and Morse families, are generalized to the contact framework. These geometries permit us to determine so-called generating family (obtained by merging a special contact manifold and a Morse family) for a Legendrian submanifold. Contact Hamiltonian and Lagrangian Dynamics are recast as Legendrian submanifolds of the tangent contact manifold. In this picture, the Legendre transformation is determined to be a passage between two d…
We introduce the notions of pointwise almost h-slant submanifolds and pointwise almost h-semi-slant submanifolds as a generalization of slant submanifolds, pointwise slant submanifolds, semi-slant submanifolds, and pointwise semi-slant submanifolds. We have characterizations and investigate the integrability of distributions, the conditions for such distributions to be totally geodesic foliations, the mean curvature vector fields on totally umbilic submanifolds, the properties of h-slant functions and h-semi-slant functions, the properties of non-trivial warped product proper pointwise h-semi-…
In this paper, we define and study CR-lightlike submanifolds of a golden semi-Riemannian manifold. We investigate some properties of geodesic CR-submanifolds of a golden semi-Riemannian manifold. Moreover, we obtain many interesting results for totally geodesic and totally umbilical CR-submanifolds on a golden Riemannian manifold. A non-trivial example of CR-lightlike submanifold of a golden semi-Riemannian manifold is also constructed.
Recently Y{ü}ksel et. al. \cite{SY} shows that there doesn't exist any proper semi-slant warped product submanifolds in a Lorentzian paracosymplectic manifold. In the present article, we first define and give preparatory lemmas for a new generalize class of semi-slant submanifolds called pointwise semi-slant submanifolds in a Lorentzian paracosymplectic manifold, and then we ensure by presenting some existence results and characterization theorem that there exist a non-trivial pointwise semi-slant warped product submanifolds in a Lorentzian paracosymplectic manifold counter to warped product s…
The purpose of this paper is to study $\mathcal{P}\mathcal{R}$-semi-invariant warped product submanifolds of a paracosymplectic manifold $\widetilde{M}$. We prove that the distributions associated with the definition of $\mathcal{P}\mathcal{R}$-semi-invariant warped product submanifold $M$ are always integrable. A necessary and sufficient condition for an isometrically immersed $\mathcal{P}\mathcal{R}$-semi-invariant submanifold of $\widetilde{M}$ to be a $\mathcal{P}\mathcal{R}$-semi-invariant warped product submanifold is obtained in terms of the shape operator.
The main purpose of the present paper is to study the geometry of screen transversal lightlike submanifolds and radical screen transversal lightlike submanifolds and screen transversal anti-invariant lightlike submanifolds of Golden Semi-Riemannian manifolds. We investigate the geometry of distributions and obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the induced connection on these manifolds to be metric connection. We also obtain characterization of screen transversal anti-invariant lightlike submanifolds of Golden Semi- Riemannian manifolds. Finally, we give two examples.
We give a complete classification of foliations on open contact manifolds whose leaves are contact submanifolds of the ambient manifold. The results are analogues of Haefliger's classification of foliations on open manifold.
In the present paper, we introduce screen almost semi-invariant (SASI) lightlike submanifolds of indefinite Keahler manifolds. We obtain the neccesary and sufficient condition for the induced connection to be a metric connection on SASI-lightlike submanifolds and construct an example for this manifold. Also we find some conditions for integrability of distributions and investigate certain characterizations.
Recently Hui et al. (\cite{HAP}, \cite{HAN}) studied contact CR-warped product submanifolds and also warped product pseudo-slant submanifolds of a $(LCS)_n$-manifold $\bar{M}$. In this paper we have studied the characterization for both these classes of warped product submanifolds. It is also shown that there do not exists any proper warped product bi-slant submanifold of a $(LCS)_n$-manifold. Although we constructed an example of a bi-slant submanifold of $(LCS)_n$-manifold.
The Metallic Ratio is fascinating topic that continually generated news ideas. A Riemannian manifold endowed with a Metallic structure will be called a Metallic Riemannian manifold. The main purpose of the present paper is to study the geometry of transversal lightlike submanifolds and radical transversal lightlike submanifolds and of Metallic Semi-Riemannian manifolds. We investigate the geometry of distributions and obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the induced connection on these manifolds to be metric connection. We also obtain characterization of transversal lightlike submani…
We derive total mean curvature integration formulae of a three co-dimensional foliation $\mathcal{F}^{n}$ on a screen integrable half-lightlike submanifold, $M^{n+1}$ in a semi-Riemannian manifold $\overline{M}^{n+3}$. We give generalized differential equations relating to mean curvatures of a totally umbilical half-lightlike submanifold admitting a totally umbilical screen distribution, and show that they are generalizations of those given by [4].
