We present a recursive formula for the number of ways to color $j$ vertices blue in an r-uniform hyperpath of size $n$ while avoiding a blue monochromatic sub-hyperpath of length k. We use this result to solve the corresponding problem for $(r-1)$-tight r-uniform paths and loose r-uniform cycles. This generalizes some well known results from reliability engineering and analysis.
We extend results of Gyárfás and Füredi on the largest monochromatic component in $r$-colored complete $k$-uniform hypergraphs to the setting of random hypergraphs. We also study long monochromatic loose cycles in $r$-colored random hypergraphs. In particular, we obtain a random analog of a result of Gyárfás, Sárközy, and Szemerédi on the longest monochromatic loose cycle in $2$-colored complete $k$-uniform hypergraphs.
We answer a question of Gyárfás and Sárközy from 2013 by showing that every 2-edge-coloured complete 3-uniform hypergraph can be partitioned into two monochromatic tight paths of different colours. We also give a lower bound for the number of tight paths needed to partition any 2-edge-coloured complete r-partite r-uniform hypergraph. Finally, we show that any 2-edge-coloured complete bipartite graph has a partition into a monochromatic cycle and a monochromatic path, of different colours, unless the colouring is a split colouring.
We show that for every η > 0 there exists an integer n_0 such that every 2-colouring of the 3-uniform complete hypergraph on n \geq n_0 vertices contains two disjoint monochromatic tight cycles of distinct colours that together cover all but at most ηn vertices. The same result holds if we replace tight cycles with loose cycles.
Extending a result of Rado to hypergraphs, we prove that for all $s, k, t \in \mathbb{N}$ with $k \geq t \geq 2$, the vertices of every $r = s(k-t+1)$-edge-coloured countably infinite complete $k$-graph can be partitioned into the cores of at most $s$ monochromatic $t$-tight Berge-paths of different colours. We further describe a construction showing that this result is best possible.
A classical result of Erdős and Hajnal claims that for any integers $k, r, g \geq 2$ there is an $r$-uniform hypergraph of girth at least $g$ with chromatic number at least $k$. This implies that there are sparse hypergraphs such that in any coloring of their vertices with at most $k-1$ colors there is a monochromatic hyperedge. We show that for any integers $r, g\geq 2$ there is an $r$-uniform hypergraph of girth at least $g$ such that in any coloring of its vertices there is either a monochromatic or a rainbow (totally multicolored) edge. We give a probabilistic and a deterministic proof of …
We show that for all $\ell, k, n$ with $\ell \leq k/2$ and $(k-\ell)$ dividing $n$ the following hypergraph-variant of Lehel's conjecture is true. Every $2$-edge-colouring of the $k$-uniform complete hypergraph $\mathcal{K}_n^{(k)}$ on $n$ vertices has at most two disjoint monochromatic $\ell$-cycles in different colours that together cover all but at most $4(k-\ell)$ vertices. If $\ell \leq k/3$, then at most two $\ell$-cycles cover all but at most $2(k-\ell)$ vertices. Furthermore, we can cover all vertices with at most $4$ ($3$ if $\ell\leq k/3$) disjoint monochromatic $\ell$-cycles.
A conjecture of Gyárfás and Sárközy says that in every $2$-coloring of the edges of the complete $k$-uniform hypergraph $K_n^k$, there are two disjoint monochromatic loose paths of distinct colors such that they cover all but at most $k-2$ vertices. A weaker form of this conjecture with $2k-5$ uncovered vertices instead of $k-2$ is proved, thus the conjecture holds for $k=3$. The main result of this paper states that the conjecture is true for all $k\ge 3$.
Confirming a conjecture of Gyárfás, we prove that, for all natural numbers $k$ and $r$, the vertices of every $r$-edge-coloured complete $k$-uniform hypergraph can be partitioned into a bounded number (independent of the size of the hypergraph) of monochromatic tight cycles. We further prove that, for for all natural numbers $p$ and $r$, the vertices of every $r$-edge-coloured complete graph can be partitioned into a bounded number of $p$-th powers of cycles, settling a problem of Elekes, Soukup, Soukup and Szentmiklóssy. In fact we prove a common generalisation of both theorems which further …
It has been conjectured that for any fixed r and sufficiently large n, there is a monochromatic Hamiltonian Berge-cycle in every (r - 1)-coloring of the edges of the complete r-uniform hypergraph on n vertices. In this paper, we show that the statement of this conjecture is true with r-2 colors (instead of r-1 colors) by showing that there is a monochromatic Hamiltonian t-tight Berge-cycle in every b r-2 / t-1 -edge coloring of Kr n for any fixed r > t >= 2 and sufficiently large n. Also, we give a proof for this conjecture when r = 4 (the first open case). These results improve the previously…
How many monochromatic paths, cycles or general trees does one need to cover all vertices of a given $r$-edge-coloured graph $G$? These problems were introduced in the 1960s and were intensively studied by various researchers over the last 50 years. In this paper, we establish a connection between this problem and the following natural Helly-type question in hypergraphs. Roughly speaking, this question asks for the maximum number of vertices needed to cover all the edges of a hypergraph $H$ if it is known that any collection of a few edges of $H$ has a small cover. We obtain quite accurate bou…
We show that for all $\ell$ and $ε>0$ there is a constant $c=c(\ell,ε)>0$ such that every $\ell$-coloring of the triples of an $N$-element set contains a subset $S$ of size $c\sqrt{\log N}$ such that at least $1-ε$ fraction of the triples of $S$ have the same color. This result is tight up to the constant $c$ and answers an open question of Erdős and Hajnal from 1989 on discrepancy in hypergraphs. For $\ell \geq 4$ colors, it is known that there is an $\ell$-coloring of the triples of an $N$-element set whose largest monochromatic subset has cardinality only $Θ(\log \log N)$. Thus, our result …
One of the most interesting new developments in hypergraph colourings in these last few years has been Voloshin's notion of colourings of mixed hypergraphs. In this paper we shall study a specific instance of Voloshin's idea: a non-monochromatic non-rainbow (NMNR) colouring of a hypergraph is a colouring of its vertices such that every edge has at least two vertices coloured with different colours (non-monochromatic) and no edge has all of its vertices coloured with distinct colours (non-rainbow). Perhaps the most intriguing phenomenon of such colourings is that a hypergraph can have gaps in i…
Consider the following problem. In a school with three classes containing $n$ students each, given that their genders are unknown, find the minimum possible number of triples of same-gender students not all of which are from the same class. Muaengwaeng asked this question and conjectured that the minimum scenario occurs when the classes are all boy, all girl and half-and-half. In this paper, we solve many generalizations of the problem including when the school has more than three classes, when triples are replaced by groups of larger sizes, when the classes are of different sizes, and when ge…
In this note we show that the maximum number of edges in a $3$-uniform hypergraph without a Berge cycle of length four is at most $(1+o(1))\frac{n^{3/2}}{\sqrt{10}}$. This improves earlier estimates by Győri and Lemons and by Füredi and Özkahya.
Erdős and Pach (1983) introduced the natural degree-based generalisations of Ramsey numbers, where instead of seeking large monochromatic cliques in a $2$-edge coloured complete graph, we seek monochromatic subgraphs of high minimum or average degree. Here we expand the study of these so-called quasi-Ramsey numbers in a few ways, in particular, to multiple colours and to uniform hypergraphs. Quasi-Ramsey numbers are known to exhibit a certain unique phase transition and we show that this is also the case across the settings we consider. Our results depend on a density-biased notion of hypergra…
For $S$ a set of positive integers, and $k$ and $r$ fixed positive integers, denote by $f(S,k;r)$ the least positive integer $n$ (if it exists) such that within every $r$-coloring of $\{1,2,...,n\}$ there must be a monochromatic sequence $\{x_{1},x_{2},...,x_{k}\}$ with $x_{i}-x_{i-1} \in S$ for $2 \leq i \leq k$. We consider the existence of $f(S,k;r)$ for various choices of $S$, as well as upper and lower bounds on this function. In particular, we show that this function exists for all $k$ if $S$ is an odd translate of the set of primes and $r=2$.
We study the mixed Ramsey number maxR(n,K_m,K_r), defined as the maximum number of colours in an edge-colouring of the complete graph K_n, such that K_n has no monochromatic complete subgraph on m vertices and no rainbow complete subgraph on r vertices. Improving an upper bound of Axenovich and Iverson, we show that maxR(n,K_m,K_4) <= n^{3/2}\sqrt{2m} for all m >= 3. Further, we discuss a possible way to improve their lower bound on maxR(n,K_4,K_4) based on incidence graphs of finite projective planes.
An $r$-edge coloring of a graph or hypergraph $G=(V,E)$ is a map $c:E\to \{0, \dots, r-1\}$. Extending results of Rado and answering questions of Rado, Gyárfás and Sárközy we prove that (1.) the vertex set of every $r$-edge colored countably infinite complete $k$-uniform hypergraph can be partitioned into $r$ monochromatic tight paths with distinct colors (a tight path in a $k$-uniform hypergraph is a sequence of distinct vertices such that every set of $k$ consecutive vertices forms an edge), (2.) for all natural numbers $r$ and $k$ there is a natural number $M$ such that the vertex set of ev…
A hypergraph is said to be properly 2-colorable if there exists a 2-coloring of its vertices such that no hyperedge is monochromatic. On the other hand, a hypergraph is called non-2-colorable if there exists at least one monochromatic hyperedge in each of the possible 2-colorings of its vertex set. Let m(n) denote the minimum number of hyperedges in a non-2-colorable n-uniform hypergraph. Establishing the lower and upper bounds on m(n) is a well-studied research direction over several decades. In this paper, we present new constructions for non-2-colorable n-uniform hypergraphs. These construc…
A well-known special case of a conjecture attributed to Ryser states that k-partite intersecting hypergraphs have transversals of at most k-1 vertices. An equivalent form was formulated by Gyárfás: if the edges of a complete graph K are colored with k colors then the vertex set of K can be covered by at most k-1 sets, each connected in some color. It turned out that the analogue of the conjecture for hypergraphs can be answered: Z. Király proved that in every k-coloring of the edges of the r-uniform complete hypergraph K^r (r >= 3), the vertex set of K^r can be covered by at most $\lceil k/r \…
Given an equation, the integers $[n] = \{1, 2, \dots, n\}$ as inputs, and the colors red and blue, how can we color $[n]$ in order to minimize the number of monochromatic solutions to the equation, and what is the minimum? The answer is only known for a handful of equations, but much progress has been made on improving upper and lower bounds on minima for various equations. A well-studied characteristic an equation, which has its roots in graph Ramsey theory, is to determine if the minimum number of monochromatic solutions can be achieved (asymptotically) by uniformly random colorings. Such eq…
For a graph $G$, a hypergraph $\mathcal{H}$ is a Berge copy of $G$ (or a Berge-$G$ in short), if there is a bijection $f : E(G) \rightarrow E(\mathcal{H})$ such that for each $e \in E(G)$ we have $e \subseteq f(e)$. We denote the family of $r$-uniform hypergraphs that are Berge copies of $G$ by $B^rG$. For families of $r$-uniform hypergraphs $\mathbf{H}$ and $\mathbf{H}'$, we denote by $R(\mathbf{H},\mathbf{H}')$ the smallest number $n$ such that in any blue-red coloring of $\mathcal{K}_n^r$ (the complete $r$-uniform hypergraph on $n$ vertices) there is a monochromatic blue copy of a hypergrap…
We study a conjecture linking ultimate periodicity of infnite words to the existence of colorings on finite words avoiding monochromatic factorisation of suffixes, with the extra condition that the ordered concatenation of elements of this factorisation remains monochromatic. This type of results shows the limits of Ramsey theory in the context of combinatorics on words. We show some reductions of the problem and the example of the Zimin word. Using the new notion of consecutive length, we show that words avoiding large squares fulfill the conjecture.
For a given hypergraph $H = (V,E)$ consider the sum $q(H)$ of $2^{-|e|}$ over $e \in E$. Consider the class of hypergraphs with the smallest edge of size $n$ and without a 2-colouring without monochromatic edges. Let $q(n)$ be the smallest value of $q(H)$ in this class. We provide a survey of the known bounds on $q(n)$ and make some minor refinements.
We prove that the vertices of every $(r + 1)$-uniform hypergraph with maximum degree $Δ$ may be coloured with $c(\fracΔ{d + 1})^{1/r}$ colours such that each vertex is in at most $d$ monochromatic edges. This result, which is best possible up to the value of the constant $c$, generalises the classical result of Erdős and Lovász who proved the $d = 0$ case.
A question of Erdős asks if for every pair of positive integers $r$ and $k$, there exists a graph $H$ having $\textrm{girth}(H)=k$ and the property that every $r$-colouring of the edges of $H$ yields a monochromatic cycle $C_k$. The existence of such graphs was confirmed by the third author and Ruciński. We consider the related numerical problem of determining the smallest such graph with this property. We show that for integers $r$ and $k$, there exists a graph $H$ on $R^{10k^2} k^{15k^3}$ vertices (where $R = R(C_k;r)$ is the $r$-colour Ramsey number for the cycle $C_k$) having $\textrm{girt…
Let $EG_r(n,k)$ denote the maximum number of edges in an $n$-vertex $r$-uniform hypergraph with no Berge cycles of length $k$ or longer. In the first part of this work, we have found exact values of $EG_r(n,k)$ and described the structure of extremal hypergraphs for the case when $k-2$ divides $n-1$ and $k\geq r+3$. In this paper we determine $EG_r(n,k)$ and describe the extremal hypergraphs for all $n$ when $k\geq r+4$.
Let $n\geq k\geq r+3$ and $\mathcal H$ be an $n$-vertex $r$-uniform hypergraph. We show that if $|\mathcal H|> \frac{n-1}{k-2}\binom{k-1}{r}$ then $\mathcal H$ contains a Berge cycle of length at least $k$. This bound is tight when $k-2$ divides $n-1$. We also show that the bound is attained only for connected $r$-uniform hypergraphs in which every block is the complete hypergraph $K^{(r)}_{k-1}$. We conjecture that our bound also holds in the case $k=r+2$, but the case of short cycles, $k\leq r+1$, is different.
For a fixed simple digraph $F$ and a given simple digraph $D$, an $F$-free $k$-coloring of $D$ is a vertex-coloring in which no induced copy of $F$ in $D$ is monochromatic. We study the complexity of deciding for fixed $F$ and $k$ whether a given simple digraph admits an $F$-free $k$-coloring. Our main focus is on the restriction of the problem to planar input digraphs, where it is only interesting to study the cases $k \in \{2,3\}$. From known results it follows that for every fixed digraph $F$ whose underlying graph is not a forest, every planar digraph $D$ admits an $F$-free $2$-coloring, a…
The size-Ramsey number of a graph $G$ is the minimum number of edges in a graph $H$ such that every 2-edge-coloring of $H$ yields a monochromatic copy of $G$. Size-Ramsey numbers of graphs have been studied for almost 40 years with particular focus on the case of trees and bounded degree graphs. We initiate the study of size-Ramsey numbers for $k$-uniform hypergraphs. Analogous to the graph case, we consider the size-Ramsey number of cliques, paths, trees, and bounded degree hypergraphs. Our results suggest that size-Ramsey numbers for hypergraphs are extremely difficult to determine, and many…
Ramsey Theory deals with avoiding certain patterns. When constructing an instance that avoids one pattern, it is observed that other patterns emerge. For example, repetition emerges when avoiding arithmetic progression (Van der Waerden numbers), while reflection emerges when avoiding monochromatic solutions of $a+b=c$ (Schur numbers). We exploit observed patterns when coloring a grid while avoiding monochromatic rectangles. Like many problems in Ramsey Theory, this problem has a rapidly growing search space that makes computer search difficult. Steinbach et al. obtained a solution of an 18 by …
A uniform hypergraph $H$ is called $k$-Ramsey for a hypergraph $F$, if no matter how one colors the edges of $H$ with $k$ colors, there is always a monochromatic copy of $F$. We say that $H$ is minimal $k$-Ramsey for $F$, if $H$ is $k$-Ramsey for $F$ but every proper subhypergraph of $H$ is not. Burr, Erdős and Lovasz studied various parameters of minimal Ramsey graphs. In this paper we initiate the study of minimum degrees and codegrees of minimal Ramsey $3$-uniform hypergraphs. We show that the smallest minimum vertex degree over all minimal $k$-Ramsey $3$-uniform hypergraphs for $K_t^{(3)}$…
A $d$-dimensional grid is a set of the form $R = [a_1] \times ... \times [a_d]$. A $d$-dimensional box is a set of the form $\{b_1,c_1\} \times ... \times \{b_d,c_d\}$. When a grid is $c$-colored, must it admit a monochromatic box? If so, we say that $R$ is $c$-guaranteed. This question is a relaxation of one attack on bounding the van der Waerden numbers, and also arises as a natural hypergraph Ramsey problem (viz. the Ramsey numbers of hyperoctahedra). We give conditions on the $a_i$ for $R$ to be $c$-guaranteed that are asymptotically tight, and analyze the set of minimally $c$-guaranteed g…
Let $H_{n,(p_m)_{m=2,\ldots,M}}$ be a random non-uniform hypergraph of dimension $M$ on $2n$ vertices, where the vertices are split into two disjoint sets of size $n$, and colored by two distinct colors. Each non-monochromatic edge of size $m=2,\ldots,M$ is independently added with probability $p_m$. We show that if $p_2,\ldots,p_M$ are such that the expected number of edges in the hypergraph is at least $dn\ln n$, for some $d>0$ sufficiently large, then with probability $(1-o(1))$, one can find a proper 2-coloring of $H_{n,(p_m)_{m=2,\ldots,M}}$ in polynomial time. We present a polynomial tim…
In this paper, we continue the study of $2$-colorings in hypergraphs. A hypergraph is $2$-colorable if there is a $2$-coloring of the vertices with no monochromatic hyperedge. It is known (see Thomassen [J. Amer. Math. Soc. 5 (1992), 217--229]) that every $4$-uniform $4$-regular hypergraph is $2$-colorable. Our main result in this paper is a strengthening of this result. For this purpose, we define a vertex in a hypergraph $H$ to be a free vertex in $H$ if we can $2$-color $V(H) \setminus \{v\}$ such that every hyperedge in $H$ contains vertices of both colors (where $v$ has no color). We prov…
The $s$-colour size-Ramsey number of a hypergraph $H$ is the minimum number of edges in a hypergraph $G$ whose every $s$-edge-colouring contains a monochromatic copy of $H$. We show that the $s$-colour size-Ramsey number of the $t$-power of the $r$-uniform tight path on $n$ vertices is linear in $n$, for every fixed $r, s, t$, thus answering a question of Dudek, La Fleur, Mubayi, and Rödl (2017). In fact, we prove a stronger result that allows us to deduce that powers of bounded degree hypergraph trees and powers of `long subdivisions' of bounded degree hypergraphs have size-Ramsey numbers tha…
We consider a generalisation of the classical Ramsey theory setting to a setting where each of the edges of the underlying host graph is coloured with a {\em set} of colours (instead of just one colour). We give bounds for monochromatic tree covers in this setting, both for an underlying complete graph, and an underlying complete bipartite graph. We also discuss a generalisation of Ramsey numbers to our setting and propose some other new directions. Our results for tree covers in complete graphs imply that a stronger version of Ryser's conjecture holds for $k$-intersecting $r$-partite $r$-unif…
Many important problems in combinatorics and other related areas can be phrased in the language of independent sets in hypergraphs. Recently Balogh, Morris and Samotij, and independently Saxton and Thomason developed very general container theorems for independent sets in hypergraphs; both of which have seen numerous applications to a wide range of problems. In this paper we use the container method to give relatively short and elementary proofs of a number of results concerning Ramsey (and Turán) properties of (hyper)graphs and the integers. In particular: (i) We generalise the random Ramsey …
For a graph $G=(V,E)$, a hypergraph $\mathcal{H}$ is called a Berge-$G$, denoted by $BG$, if there exists a bijection $f: E(G) \to E(\mathcal{H})$ such that for every $e \in E(G)$, $e \subseteq f(e)$. Let the Ramsey number $R^r(BG,BG)$ be the smallest integer $n$ such that for any $2$-edge-coloring of a complete $r$-uniform hypergraph on $n$ vertices, there is a monochromatic Berge-$G$ subhypergraph. In this paper, we show that the 2-color Ramsey number of Berge cliques is linear. In particular, we show that $R^3(BK_s, BK_t) = s+t-3$ for $s,t \geq 4$ and $\max(s,t) \geq 5$ where $BK_n$ is a Be…
For fixed positive integers $r, k$ and $\ell$ with $1 \leq \ell < r$ and an $r$-uniform hypergraph $H$, let $κ(H, k,\ell)$ denote the number of $k$-colorings of the set of hyperedges of $H$ for which any two hyperedges in the same color class intersect in at least $\ell$ elements. Consider the function $\KC(n,r,k,\ell)=\max_{H\in{\mathcal H}_{n}} κ(H, k,\ell) $, where the maximum runs over the family ${\mathcal H}_n$ of all $r$-uniform hypergraphs on $n$ vertices. In this paper, we determine the asymptotic behavior of the function $\KC(n,r,k,\ell)$ for every fixed $r$, $k$ and $\ell$ and descr…
The induced Ramsey number $r_{\mathrm{ind}}(F)$ of a $k$-uniform hypergraph $F$ is the smallest natural number $n$ for which there exists a $k$-uniform hypergraph $G$ on $n$ vertices such that every two-coloring of the edges of $G$ contains an induced monochromatic copy of $F$. We study this function, showing that $r_{\mathrm{ind}}(F)$ is bounded above by a reasonable power of $r(F)$. In particular, our result implies that $r_{\mathrm{ind}}(F) \leq 2^{2^{ct}}$ for any $3$-uniform hypergraph $F$ with $t$ vertices, mirroring the best known bound for the usual Ramsey number. The proof relies on a…
Given an $r$-uniform hypergraph $H=(V,E)$ and a weight function $ω:E\to\{1,\dots,w\}$, a coloring of vertices of $H$, induced by $ω$, is defined by $c(v) = \sum_{e\ni v} w(e)$ for all $v\in V$. If there exists such a coloring that is strong (that means in each edge no color appears more than once), then we say that $H$ is strongly $w$-weighted. Similarly, if the coloring is weak (that means there is no monochromatic edge), then we say that $H$ is weakly $w$-weighted. In this paper, we show that almost all 3 or 4-uniform hypergraphs are strongly 2-weighted (but not 1-weighted) and almost all $5…
In this survey we describe a recently-developed technique for bounding the number (and controlling the typical structure) of finite objects with forbidden substructures. This technique exploits a subtle clustering phenomenon exhibited by the independent sets of uniform hypergraphs whose edges are sufficiently evenly distributed; more precisely, it provides a relatively small family of 'containers' for the independent sets, each of which contains few edges. We attempt to convey to the reader a general high-level overview of the method, focusing on a small number of illustrative applications in …
The maximum size of an $r$-uniform hypergraph without a Berge cycle of length at least $k$ has been determined for all $k \ge r+3$ by Füredi, Kostochka and Luo and for $k<r$ (and $k=r$, asymptotically) by Kostochka and Luo. In this paper, we settle the remaining cases: $k=r+1$ and $k=r+2$, proving a conjecture of Füredi, Kostochka and Luo.
Given a family $\mathcal{F}$ of $r$-graphs, the Turán number of $\mathcal{F}$ for a given positive integer $N$, denoted by $ex(N,\mathcal{F})$, is the maximum number of edges of an $r$-graph on $N$ vertices that does not contain any member of $\mathcal{F}$ as a subgraph. For given $r\geq 3$, a complete $r$-uniform Berge-hypergraph, denoted by { ${K}_n^{(r)}$}, is an $r$-uniform hypergraph of order $n$ with the core sequence $v_{1}, v_{2}, \ldots ,v_{n}$ as the vertices and distinct edges $e_{ij},$ $1\leq i<j\leq n,$ where every $e_{ij}$ contains both $v_{i}$ and $v_{j}$. Let $\mathcal{F}^{(r)}…
We recursively extend the Lovász theta number to geometric hypergraphs on the unit sphere and on Euclidean space, obtaining an upper bound for the independence ratio of these hypergraphs. As an application we reprove a result in Euclidean Ramsey theory in the measurable setting, namely that every $k$-simplex is exponentially Ramsey, and we improve existing bounds for the base of the exponential.

It has been conjectured that for any fixed $r\geq 2$ and sufficiently large $n$, there is a monochromatic Hamiltonian Berge-cycle in every $(r-1)$-coloring of the edges of $K_{n}^{r}$, the complete $r$-uniform hypergraph on $n$ vertices. In this paper we prove this conjecture.
The size-Ramsey number $R^{(k)}(H)$ of a $k$-uniform hypergraph $H$ is the minimum number of edges in a $k$-uniform hypergraph $G$ with the property that every `$2$-edge coloring' of $G$ contains a monochromatic copy of $H$. For $k\ge2$ and $n\in\mathbb{N}$, a $k$-uniform tight path on $n$ vertices $P^{(k)}_{n}$ is defined as a $k$-uniform hypergraph on $n$ vertices for which there is an ordering of its vertices such that the edges are all sets of $k$ consecutive vertices with respect to this order. We prove a lower bound on the size-Ramsey number of $k$-uniform tight paths, which is, consider…
