3-Lie algebras are constructed by Lie algebras, derivations and linear functions, associative commutative algebras, whose involutions and derivations. Then the 3-Lie algebras are obtained from group algebras $F[G]$. An infinite dimensional simple 3-Lie algebra $(A, [,,]_{ω, δ_0})$ and a non-simple 3-Lie algebra $(A, [,,]_{ω_1, δ})$ are constructed by Laurent polynomials $A=F[t, t^{-1}]$ and its involutions $ω$ and $ω_1$ and derivations $δ$ and $δ_0$. At last of the paper, we summarize the methods of constructing $n$-Lie algebras for $n\geq 3$ and provide a problem.
We introduce a search algorithm that utilises differential operator realisations to find polynomial Casimir operators of Lie algebras. To demonstrate the algorithm, we look at two classes of examples: (1) the model filiform Lie algebras and (2) the Schrödinger Lie algebras. We find that an abstract form of dimensional analysis assists us in our algorithm, and greatly reduces the complexity of the problem.
We provide a given algebraic structure with the structure of an infinitesimal algebraic skeleton. The necessary conditions for integrability of the absolute parallelism of a tower with such a skeleton are dispersive nonlinear models and related conservation laws given in the form of associated linear spectral problems.
We give a general construction for the classical limit of a quantum system defined in terms of generators of an arbitrary compact semisimple Lie algebra, generalizing known results for the $\mathfrak{su}_2$ and $\mathfrak{su}_3$ cases. The classical limit depends on the physical problem in question and is determined by the sequence of representations by which it is reached. Only in the simplest cases it is unique. We present explicit formulae useful in determining the classical limit in all important cases.
The notions of vertex Lie algebra and vertex Poisson algebra are presented and connections among vertex Lie algebras, vertex Poisson algebras and vertex algebras are discussed.
We study (quasi-)twilled pre-Lie algebras and the associated $L_\infty$-algebras and differential graded Lie algebras. Then we show that certain twisting transformations on (quasi-)twilled pre-Lie algbras can be characterized by the solutions of Maurer-Cartan equations of the associated differential graded Lie algebras ($L_\infty$-algebras). Furthermore, we show that $\mathcal{O}$-operators and twisted $\mathcal{O}$-operators are solutions of the Maurer-Cartan equations. As applications, we study (quasi-)pre-Lie bialgebras using the associated differential graded Lie algebras ($L_\infty$-algeb…
Theory of differential operators on associative algebras is not extended to the non-associative ones in a straightforward way. We consider differential operators on Lie algebras. A key point is that multiplication in a Lie algebra is its derivation. Higher order differential operators on a Lie algebra are defined as composition of the first order ones. The Chevalley--Eilenberg differential calculus over a Lie algebra is defined. Examples of finite-dimensional Lie algebras, Poisson algebras, algebras of vector fields, and algebras of canonical commutation relations are considered. Differential …
We propose the method for obtaining invariants of arbitrary representations of Lie groups that reduces this problem to known problems of linear algebra. The basis of this method is the idea of a special extension of the representation space, which allows us to regard it as a coalgebra of some Lie algebra. In its turn, this allows us to reduce the problem of constructing invariants of a given representation to the problem of constructing invariants of the coadjoint representation of the corresponding Lie group. In our previous paper it was shown that this problem can always be solved in a natur…
In this paper, first we introduce the notion of a Reynolds operator on an $n$-Lie algebra and illustrate the relationship between Reynolds operators and derivations on an $n$-Lie algebra. We give the cohomology theory of Reynolds operators on an $n$-Lie algebra and study infinitesimal deformations of Reynolds operators using the second cohomology group. Then we introduce the notion of NS-$n$-Lie algebras, which are generalizations of both $n$-Lie algebras and $n$-pre-Lie algebras. We show that an NS-$n$-Lie algebra gives rise to an $n$-Lie algebra together with a representation on itself. Reyn…
An explicit AdS/CFT correspondence is shown for the Lie group $SO(4,2)$. The Lie symmetry structures allow for the construction of two physical theories through the tools of Cartan geometry. One is a gravitational theory that has anti-de Sitter symmetry. The other is also a gravitational theory but is conformally symmetric and lives on 8-dimensional biconformal space. These "extra" four dimensions have the degrees of freedom used to construct a Yang-Mills theory. The two theories, based on AdS or conformal symmetry, have a natural correspondence in the context of their Lie algebras alone where…
There is developed a differential-algebraic approach to studying the representations of commuting differentiations in functional differential rings under nonlinear differential constraints. An example of the differential ideal with the only one conserved quantity is analyzed in detail, the corresponding Lax type representations of differentiations are constructed for an infinite hierarchy of nonlinear dynamical systems of the Burgers and Korteweg-de Vries type. A related infinite bi-Hamiltonian hierarchy of Lax type dynamical systems is constructed.
In this paper, we define a class of 3-algebras which are called 3-Lie-Rinehart algebras. A 3-Lie-Rinehart algebra is a triple $(L, A, ρ)$, where $A$ is a commutative associative algebra, $L$ is an $A$-module, $(A, ρ)$ is a 3-Lie algebra $L$-module and $ρ(L, L)\subseteq Der(A)$. We discuss the basic structures, actions and crossed modules of 3-Lie-Rinehart algebras and construct 3-Lie-Rinehart algebras from given algebras, we also study the derivations from 3-Lie-Rinehart algebras to 3-Lie $A$-algebras. From the study, we see that there is much difference between 3-Lie algebras and 3-Lie-Rineha…
In this paper, first we introduce the notions of relative Rota-Baxter operators of nonzero weight on $3$-Lie algebras and $3$-post-Lie algebras. A 3-post-Lie algebra consists of a 3-Lie algebra structure and a ternary operation such that some compatibility conditions are satisfied. We show that a relative Rota-Baxter operator of nonzero weight induces a $3$-post-Lie algebra naturally. Conversely, a $3$-post-Lie algebra gives rise to a new 3-Lie algebra, which is called the subadjacent 3-Lie algebra, and an action on the original 3-Lie algebra. Then we construct an $L_\infty$-algebra whose Maur…
In this paper, we introduce the notion of a pre-Lie 2-algebra, which is a categorification of a pre-Lie algebra. We prove that the category of pre-Lie 2-algebras and the category of 2-term pre-Lie$_\infty$-algebras are equivalent. We classify skeletal pre-Lie 2-algebras by the third cohomology of a pre-Lie algebra. We prove that crossed modules of pre-Lie algebras are in one-to-one correspondence with strict pre-Lie 2-algebras. $\mathcal O$-operators on Lie 2-algebras are introduced, which can be used to construct pre-Lie 2-algebras. As an application, we give solutions of 2-graded classical Y…
In this paper, we introduce a $\{λ_{1\to n-1}\}$-bracket and a distribution notion of an $n$-Lie conformal algebra. For any $n$-Lie conformal algebra $R$, there exists a series of associated infinite-dimensional linearly compact $n$-Lie algebras $\{(\mathscr{L}ie_p\mbox{ }R)_\_\}_{(p\ge1)}$. We show that torsionless finite $n$-Lie conformal algebras $R$ and $S$ are isomorphic if and only if $(\mathscr{L}ie_p\mbox{ }R)_\_\simeq (\mathscr{L}ie_p\mbox{ }S)_\_$ as linearly compact $n$-Lie algebras with $\partial_{t_i}$-action for any $p\ge1$. Moreover, the representation and cohomology theory of $…
The purpose of this paper is to study the relationships between an $n$-Hom-Lie algebra and its induced $(n+1)$-Hom-Lie algebra. We provide an overview of the theory and explore the structure properties such as ideals, center, derived series, solvability, nilpotency, central extensions, and the cohomology.
This paper introduces the notion of Hom-Lie color algebra, which is a natural general- ization of Hom-Lie (super)algebras. Hom-Lie color algebras include also as special cases Lie (super) algebras and Lie color algebras. We study the homomorphism relation of Hom-Lie color algebras, and construct new algebras of such kind by a σ-twist. Hom-Lie color admissible algebras are also defined and investigated. They are finally classified via G-Hom-associative color algebras, where G is a subgroup of the symmetric group S_3.
Let g be a simplicial Lie algebra with Moore complex Ng of length k. Let G be the simplicial Lie group integrating g, which is simply connected in each simplicial level. We use the 1-jet of the classifying space of G to construct, starting from g, a Lie k-algebra L. The so constructed Lie k-algebra L is actually a differential graded Lie algebra. The differential and the brackets are explicitly described in terms (of a part) of the corresponding k-hypercrossed complex structure of Ng. The result can be seen as a geometric interpretation of Quillen's (purely algebraic) construction of the adjun…
We study the representation theory of finite-dimensional $ω$-Lie algebras over the complex field. We derive an $ω$-Lie version of the classical Lie's theorem, i.e., any finite-dimensional irreducible module of a soluble $ω$-Lie algebra is one-dimensional. We also prove that indecomposable modules of some three-dimensional $ω$-Lie algebras could be parametrized by the complex field and nilpotent matrices. We introduce the notion of a tailed derivation of a nonassociative algebra $g$ and prove that if $g$ is a Lie algebra, then there exists a one-to-one correspondence between tailed derivations …
We define the twisted loop Lie algebra of a finite dimensional Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$ as the Fréchet space of all twisted periodic smooth mappings from $\mathbb R$ to $\mathfrak g$. Here the Lie algebra operation is continuous. We call such Lie algebras Fréchet Lie algebras. We introduce the notion of an integrable $\mathbb Z$-gradation of a Fréchet Lie algebra, and find all inequivalent integrable $\mathbb Z$-gradations with finite dimensional grading subspaces of twisted loop Lie algebras of complex simple Lie algebras.
Based on the differential graded Lie algebra controlling deformations of an $n$-Lie algebra with a representation (called an n-LieRep pair), we construct a Lie n-algebra, whose Maurer-Cartan elements characterize relative Rota-Baxter operators on n-LieRep pairs. The notion of an n-pre-Lie algebra is introduced, which is the underlying algebraic structure of the relative Rota-Baxter operator. We give the cohomology of relative Rota-Baxter operators and study infinitesimal deformations and extensions of order m deformations to order m+1 deformations of relative Rota-Baxter operators through the …
In this paper, we introduce the notions of a $3$-$Lie_\infty$-algebra and a 3-Lie 2-algebra. The former is a model for a 3-Lie algebra that satisfy the fundamental identity up to all higher homotopies, and the latter is the categorification of a 3-Lie algebra. We prove that the 2-category of 2-term $3$-$Lie_\infty$-algebras is equivalent to the 2-category of 3-Lie 2-algebras. Skeletal and strict 3-Lie 2-algebras are studied in detail. A construction of a 3-Lie 2-algebra from a symplectic 3-Lie algebra is given.
In this paper, we study the structure of 3-Lie algebras with involutive derivations. We prove that if $A$ is an $m$-dimensional 3-Lie algebra with an involutive derivation $D$, then there exists a compatible 3-pre-Lie algebra $(A, \{ , , , \}_D)$ such that $A$ is the sub-adjacent 3-Lie algebra, and there is a local cocycle $3$-Lie bialgebraic structure on the $2m$-dimensional semi-direct product 3-Lie algebra $A\ltimes_{ad^*} A^*$, which is associated to the adjoint representation $(A, ad)$. By means of involutive derivations, the skew-symmetric solution of the 3-Lie classical Yang-Baxter equa…
In this paper, first we introduce the notion of a twilled 3-Lie algebra, and construct an $L_\infty$-algebra, whose Maurer-Cartan elements give rise to new twilled 3-Lie algebras by twisting. In particular, we recover the Lie $3$-algebra whose Maurer-Cartan elements are O-operators (also called relative Rota-Baxter operators) on 3-Lie algebras. Then we introduce the notion of generalized matched pairs of 3-Lie algebras using generalized representations of 3-Lie algebras, which will give rise to twilled 3-Lie algebras. The usual matched pairs of 3-Lie algebras correspond to a special class of t…
F-Lie algebras are natural generalisations of Lie algebras (F=1) and Lie superalgebras (F=2). We give finite dimensional examples of F-Lie algebras obtained by an inductive process from Lie algebras and Lie superalgebras. Matrix realizations of the $F-$Lie algebras constructed in this way from osp(2|m) are given. We obtain a non-trivial extension of the Poincaré algebra by an Inönü-Wigner contraction of a certain $F-$Lie algebras with $F>2$.
We study the homology and cohomology groups of super Lie algebra of supersymmetries and of super Poincare Lie algebra in various dimensions. We give complete answers for (non-extended) supersymmetry in all dimensions $\leq 11$. For dimensions $D=10,11$ we describe also the cohomology of reduction of supersymmetry Lie algebra to lower dimensions. Our methods can be applied to extended supersymmetry algebra.
In this paper, we introduce the notions of hom-Lie 2-algebras, which is the categorification of hom-Lie algebras, $HL_\infty$-algebras, which is the hom-analogue of $L_\infty$-algebras, and crossed modules of hom-Lie algebras. We prove that the category of hom-Lie 2-algebras and the category of 2-term $HL_\infty$-algebras are equivalent. We give a detailed study on skeletal hom-Lie 2-algebras. In particular, we construct the hom-analogues of the string Lie 2-algebras associated to any semisimple involutive hom-Lie algebras. We also proved that there is a one-to-one correspondence between stric…
We present a procedure to construct (n+1)-Hom-Nambu-Lie algebras from n-Hom-Nambu-Lie algebras equipped with a generalized trace function. It turns out that the implications of the compatibility conditions, that are necessary for this construction, can be understood in terms of the kernel of the trace function and the range of the twisting maps. Furthermore, we investigate the possibility of defining (n+k)-Lie algebras from n-Lie algebras and a k-form satisfying certain conditions.
We define $\mathcal{O}$-operators on a Lie $\infty$-algebra $E$ with respect to an action of $E$ on another Lie $\infty$-algebra and we characterize them as Maurer-Cartan elements of a certain Lie $\infty$-algebra obtained by Voronov's higher derived brackets construction. The Lie $\infty$-algebra that controls the deformation of $\mathcal{O}$-operators with respect to a fixed action is determined.
