We define the twisted loop Lie algebra of a finite dimensional Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$ as the Fréchet space of all twisted periodic smooth mappings from $\mathbb R$ to $\mathfrak g$. Here the Lie algebra operation is continuous. We call such Lie algebras Fréchet Lie algebras. We introduce the notion of an integrable $\mathbb Z$-gradation of a Fréchet Lie algebra, and find all inequivalent integrable $\mathbb Z$-gradations with finite dimensional grading subspaces of twisted loop Lie algebras of complex simple Lie algebras.
Toda equations associated with twisted loop groups are considered. Such equations are specified by Z-gradations of the corresponding twisted loop Lie algebras. The classification of Toda equations related to twisted loop Lie algebras with integrable Z-gradations is discussed.
Supersymmetry is formulated for integrable models based on the $sl(2|1)$ loop algebra endowed with a principal gradation. The symmetry transformations which have half-integer grades generate supersymmetry. The $sl(2|1)$ loop algebra leads to N=2 supersymmetric mKdV and sinh-Gordon equations. The corresponding N=1 mKdV and sinh-Gordon equations are obtained via reduction induced by twisted automorphism. Our method allows for a description of a non-local symmetry structure of supersymmetric integrable models.
In a vertex algebraic framework, we present an explicit description of the twisted Wakimoto realizations of the affine Lie algebras in correspondence with an arbitrary finite order automorphism and a compatible integral gradation of a complex simple Lie algebra. This yields generalized free field realizations of the twisted and untwisted affine Lie algebras in any gradation. The free field form of the twisted Sugawara formula and examples are also exhibited.
A Toda equation is specified by a choice of a Lie group and a $\mathbb Z$-gradation of its Lie algebra. The Toda equations associated with loop groups of complex classical Lie groups, whose Lie algebras are endowed with integrable $\mathbb Z$-gradations with finite dimensional grading subspaces, are described in an explicit form.
We construct models of the differential $KO$-theory and the twisted differential $KO$-theory, by refining Karoubi's $KO$-theory [Kar78] in terms of gradations on Clifford modules. In order for this, we set up the generalized Clifford superconnection formalism which generalizes the Quillen's superconnection formalism [Qui85]. One of our models can be regarded as classifying "fermionic mass terms" in physics.
The grading operators for all nonequivalent Z-gradations of classical Lie algebras are represented in the explicit block matrix form. The explicit form of the corresponding nonabelian Toda equations is given.
We give a complete description of the anti-involutions that preserve the principal gradation of the algebra of matrix quantum pseudodifferential operators and we describe the Lie subalgebras of its minus fixed points.
We construct a family of quasigraded Lie algebras that coincide with the deformations of the loop algebras in "principal" gradation and admit Kostant-Adler-Symes scheme. Using them we obtain new Volterra coupled systems and modified Toda field equations for all series of classical matrix Lie algebras $\mathfrak{g}$.
We present a quantization of a Lie coideal structure for twisted half-loop algebras of finite-dimensional simple complex Lie algebras. We obtain algebra closure relations of twisted Yangians in Drinfeld J presentation for all symmetric pairs of simple Lie algebras and for simple twisted even half-loop Lie algebras. We provide the explicit form of the closure relations for twisted Yangians in Drinfeld J presentation for the ${\mathfrak{sl}}_3$ Lie algebra.
The twisted Lie-algebraically deformed relativistic and nonrelativistic phase spaces are constructed with the use of Heisenberg double procedure. The corresponding Heisenberg uncertainty principles are discussed as well.
In this paper, first we introduce the notion of a twisted Rota-Baxter operator on a 3-Lie algebra $\g$ with a representation on $V$. We show that a twisted Rota-Baxter operator induces a 3-Lie algebra structure on $V$, which represents on $\g$. By this fact, we define the cohomology of a twisted Rota-Baxter operator and study infinitesimal deformations of a twisted Rota-Baxter operator using the second cohomology group. Then we introduce the notion of an NS-3-Lie algebra, which produces a 3-Lie algebra with a representation on itself. We show that a twisted Rota-Baxter operator induces an NS-3…
The study of denominator identities for Lie superalgebras was recently developed by M. Gorelik, V.G. Kac, P.Moseneder Frajria, I. Musson, P. Papi, M. Wakimoto and the author. In this paper we generalize these identities to the twisted affine case, completing the result to all affine Lie superalgebras.
A Vogan diagram is a Dynkin diagram with a Cartan involution of twisted affine superlagebras based on maximally compact Cartan subalgebras. This article construct the Vogan diagrams of twisted affine superalgebras. It is a part of completion of classification of vogan diagrams to superalgebras cases.
We derive a formula for the the modular class of a Lie algebroid with a regular twisted Poisson structure in terms of a canonical Lie algebroid representation of the image of the Poisson map. We use this formula to compute the modular classes of Lie algebras with a twisted triangular r-matrix. The special case of r-matrices associated to Frobenius Lie algebras is also studied.
We revisit the free field construction of the deformed $W$-algebra by Frenkel and Reshetikhin [Comm. Math. Phys. 197 (1998), 1-32], where the basic $W$-current has been identified. Herein, we establish a free field construction of higher $W$-currents of the deformed $W$-algebra associated with the twisted affine Lie algebra $A_{2N}^{(2)}$. We obtain a closed set of quadratic relations and duality, which allows us to define deformed $W$-algebra ${\mathcal W}_{x,r}\big(A_{2N}^{(2)}\big)$ using generators and relations.
A dynamical $r$-matrix is associated with every self-dual Lie algebra $\A$ which is graded by finite-dimensional subspaces as $\A=\oplus_{n \in \cZ} \A_n$, where $\A_n$ is dual to $\A_{-n}$ with respect to the invariant scalar product on $\A$, and $\A_0$ admits a nonempty open subset $\check \A_0$ for which $\ad κ$ is invertible on $\A_n$ if $n\neq 0$ and $κ\in \check \A_0$. Examples are furnished by taking $\A$ to be an affine Lie algebra obtained from the central extension of a twisted loop algebra $\ell(\G,μ)$ of a finite-dimensional self-dual Lie algebra $\G$. These $r$-matrices, $R: \chec…
We review the concept of the (anomalous) Poisson-Lie symmetry in a way that emphasises the notion of Poisson-Lie Hamiltonian. The language that we develop turns out to be very useful for several applications: we prove that the left and the right actions of a group $G$ on its twisted Heisenberg double $(D,κ)$ realize the (anomalous) Poisson-Lie symmetries and we explain in a very transparent way the concept of the Poisson-Lie subsymmetry and that of Poisson-Lie symplectic reduction. Under some additional conditions, we construct also a non-anomalous moment map corresponding to a sort of quasi-a…
We construct twisted Calogero-Moser (CM) systems with spins as the Hitchin systems derived from the Higgs bundles over elliptic curves, where transitions operators are defined by an arbitrary finite order automorphisms of the underlying Lie algebras. In this way we obtain the spin generalization of the twisted D'Hoker- Phong and Bordner-Corrigan-Sasaki-Takasaki systems. As by product, we construct the corresponding twisted classical dynamical r-matrices and Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov-Bernard equations related to the automorphisms of the Lie algebras.
The explicit Verlinde formula for the dimension of conformal blocks, attached to a marked projective curve $Σ$, a simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ over $\mathbb{C}$ and integrable highest weight modules of a fixed central charge of the corresponding affine Lie algebra $\hat{L}(\mathfrak{g})$ attached to the marked points, requires (among several other important ingredients) a Lie algebra cohomology vanishing result due to C. Teleman for the positive part $\hat{L}^+(\mathfrak{g})$ with coefficients in the tensor product of an integrable highest weight module with copies of finite dimensional e…
We consider finite-dimensional complex Lie algebras. Using certain complex parameters we generalize the concept of cohomology cocycles of Lie algebras. A special case is generalization of 1-cocycles with respect to the adjoint representation - so called $(α,β,γ)$--derivations. Parametric sets of spaces of cocycles allow us to define complex functions which are invariant under Lie isomorphisms. Such complex functions thus represent useful invariants - we show how they classify three and four-dimensional Lie algebras as well as how they apply to some eight-dimensional one-parametric nilpotent co…
We develop a theory of quasi-Lie bialgebroids using a homological approach. This notion is a generalization of quasi-Lie bialgebras, as well as twisted Poisson structures with a 3-form background which have recently appeared in the context of string theory, and were studied by Ševera and Weinstein using a different method.
We classify the N = 1, 2, 3 superconformal Lie algebras of Schwimmer and Seiberg by means of differential non-abelian cohomology, and describe the general philosophy behind this new technique. The structure of the group (functor) of automorphisms of the corresponding Lie conformal superalgebra is a key ingredient of the proof.
We formulate a twisted version of the conjectured duality between heterotic and type I string theories. Our formulation relates the chiral part of the heterotic string with a type I topological B-model on a Calabi-Yau five-fold. We provide a non-trivial check of this duality by showing that certain infinite-dimensional Lie algebras of global gauge transformations built from each theory are isomorphic. Matching the structure constants of the Lie algebras involves a detailed analysis of one-loop corrections on the type I side.
We propose a new approach to study coideal algebras. It is well-known that Manin triples (or equivalently Lie bi-algebra structures) are the requirement to deform Lie algebras and to obtain quantum groups. In this paper, introducing some particular automorphisms of Manin triples, we define new structures that we call Lie bi-ideal structures. A link with coisotropic subalgebras is explained. We show that their deformation provide coideal algebras. As examples, we recover from our general construction the twisted Yangians, the q-Onsager algebra and the augmented q-Onsager algebra. As an importan…
A nonzero 2-cocycle $Γ\in Z^2(\g,\R)$ on the Lie algebra $\g$ of a compact Lie group $G$ defines a twisted version of the Lie-Poisson structure on the dual Lie algebra $\g^*$, leading to a Poisson algebra $C^{\infty}(\g_{(Γ)}^*)$. Similarly, a multiplier $c\in Z^2(G,U(1))$ on $G$ which is smooth near the identity defines a twist in the convolution product on $G$, encoded by the twisted group $C^*$-algebra C^*(G,c)$. Further to some superficial yet enlightening analogies between $C^{\infty}(\g^*_{(Γ)})$ and $C^*(G,c)$, it is shown that the latter is a strict quantization of the former, where Pl…
A systematic theory of product and diagonal states is developed for tensor products of $\mathbb Z_2$-graded $*$-algebras, as well as $\mathbb Z_2$-graded $C^*$-algebras. As a preliminary step to achieve this goal, we provide the construction of a {\it fermionic $C^*$-tensor product} of $\mathbb Z_2$-graded $C^*$-algebras. Twisted duals of positive linear maps between von Neumann algebras are then studied, and applied to solve a positivity problem on the infinite Fermi lattice. Lastly, these results are used to define fermionic detailed balance (which includes the definition for the usual tenso…
In this paper, we give the categorification of Leibniz algebras, which is equivalent to 2-term sh Leibniz algebras. They reveal the algebraic structure of omni-Lie 2-algebras introduced in \cite{omniLie2} as well as twisted Courant algebroids by closed 4-forms introduced in \cite{4form}. We also prove that Dirac structures of twisted Courant algebroids give rise to 2-term $L_\infty$-algebras and geometric structures behind them are exactly $H$-twisted Lie algebroids introduced in \cite{Grutzmann}.
The correspondence between Poisson structures and symplectic groupoids, analogous to the one of Lie algebras and Lie groups, plays an important role in Poisson geometry; it offers, in particular, a unifying framework for the study of hamiltonian and Poisson actions. In this paper, we extend this correspondence to the context of Dirac structures twisted by a closed 3-form. More generally, given a Lie groupoid $G$ over a manifold $M$, we show that multiplicative 2-forms on $G$ relatively closed with respect to a closed 3-form $ϕ$ on $M$ correspond to maps from the Lie algebroid of $G$ into the c…
We prove how the Yangian of $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ in its RTT presentation and Olshanski's twisted Yangians for the orthogonal and symplectic Lie algebras can be obtained by a degeneration process from the corresponding quantum loop algebra and some of its twisted analogues.
