For the fundamental solutions of heat-type equations of order $n$ we give a general stochastic representation in terms of damped oscillations with generalized gamma distributed parameters. By composing the pseudo-process $X_n$ related to the higher-order heat-type equation with positively skewed stable r.v.'s $T^j_{1/3}$, $j=1,2, ..., n$ we obtain genuine r.v.'s whose explicit distribution is given for $n=3$ in terms of Cauchy asymmetric laws. We also prove that $X_3(T^1_{1/3}(...(T^n_{(1/3)}(t))...))$ has a stable asymmetric law.
Based on the recent development of the framework of Volterra rough paths, we consider here the probabilistic construction of the Volterra rough path associated to the fractional Brownian motion with $H>\frac{1}{2}$ and for the standard Brownian motion. The Volterra kernel $k(t,s)$ is allowed to be singular, and behaving similar to $|t-s|^{-γ}$ for some $γ\geq 0$. The construction is done in both the Stratonovich and Itô sense. It is based on a modified Garsia-Rodemich-Romsey lemma which has an interest in its own right, as well as tools from Malliavin calculus. A discussion of challenges and p…
We obtain existence results for the solution u of nonlocal semilinear parabolic PDEs on $\mathbb{R}^d$ with polynomial nonlinearities in $(u, \nabla u)$, using a tree-based probabilistic representation. This probabilistic representation applies to the solution of the equation itself, as well as to its partial derivatives by associating one of d marks to the initial tree branch. Partial derivatives are dealt with by integration by parts and subordination of Brownian motion. Numerical illustrations are provided in examples for the fractional Laplacian in dimension up to 10, and for the fractiona…
The work in this paper is four-fold. Firstly, we introduce an alternative approach to solve fractional ordinary differential equations as an expected value of a random time process. Using the latter, we present an interesting numerical approach based on Monte Carlo integration to simulate solutions of fractional ordinary and partial differential equations. Thirdly, we show that this approach allows us to find the fundamental solutions for fractional partial differential equations (PDEs), in which the fractional derivative in time is in the Caputo sense and the fractional in space one is in the…
We present a very simple bijective proof of Cayley's formula due to Foata and Fuchs (1970). This bijection turns out to be very useful when seen through a probabilistic lens; we explain some of the ways in which it can be used to derive probabilistic identities, bounds, and growth procedures for random trees with given degrees, including random d-ary trees. We also introduce a partial order on the degree sequences of rooted trees, and conjecture that it induces a stochastic partial order on heights of random rooted trees with given degrees.
Deep point cloud registration methods face challenges to partial overlaps and rely on labeled data. To address these issues, we propose UDPReg, an unsupervised deep probabilistic registration framework for point clouds with partial overlaps. Specifically, we first adopt a network to learn posterior probability distributions of Gaussian mixture models (GMMs) from point clouds. To handle partial point cloud registration, we apply the Sinkhorn algorithm to predict the distribution-level correspondences under the constraint of the mixing weights of GMMs. To enable unsupervised learning, we design …
We are concerned with the power-law fluids driven by an additive stochastic forcing in dimension $d\geq3$. For the power index $r\in(1,\frac{3d+2}{d+2})$, we establish existence of infinitely many global-in-time probabilistically strong and analytically weak solutions in $L^p_{loc}([0,\infty);L^2)\cap C([0,\infty);W^{1,\max\{1,r-1\}}),p\geq1$ for every divergence free initial condition in $L^2\cap W^{1,\max\{1,r-1\}}$. This result in particular implies non-uniqueness in law. Our result is sharp in the three dimensional case in the sense that the solution is unique if $r\geq \frac{3d+2}{d+2}$.
Recent work on Path-Dependent Partial Differential Equations (PPDEs) has shown that PPDE solutions can be approximated by a probabilistic representation, implemented in the literature by the estimation of conditional expectations using regression. However, a limitation of this approach is to require the selection of a basis in a function space. In this paper, we overcome this limitation by the use of deep learning methods, and we show that this setting allows for the derivation of error bounds on the approximation of conditional expectations. Numerical examples based on a two-person zero-sum g…
In this paper, we prove a convergence theorem for singular perturbations problems for a class of fully nonlinear parabolic partial differential equations with ergodic structures. The limit function is represented as the viscosity solution to a fully nonlinear degenerate PDEs. Our approach is mainly based on G-stochastic analysis argument. As a byproduct, we also establish the averaging principle for stochastic differential equations driven by G-Brownian motion with two time-scales. The results extend Khasminskii's averaging principle to nonlinear case.

We study the two-dimensional periodic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) with the quadratic nonlinearity $|u|^2$. In particular, we study the quadratic NLS with random initial data distributed according to a fractional derivative (of order $α\geq 0$) of the Gaussian free field. After removing the singularity at the zeroth frequency, we prove that the quadratic NLS is almost surely locally well-posed for $α< \frac{1}{2}$ and is probabilistically ill-posed for $α\geq \frac{3}{4}$ in a suitable sense. These results show that in the case of rough random initial data and a quadratic nonlinearity,…
Usually Fokker-Planck type partial differential equations (PDEs) are well-posed if the initial condition is specified. In this paper, alternatively, we consider the inverse problem which consists in prescribing final data: in particular we give sufficient conditions for existence and uniqueness. In the second part of the paper we provide a probabilistic representation of those PDEs in the form a solution of a McKean type equation corresponding to the time-reversal dynamics of a diffusion process.

This paper provides necessary as well as sufficient conditions on the Hurst parameters so that the continuous time parabolic Anderson model $\frac{\partial u}{\partial t}=\frac{1}{2}\frac{\partial^2 u}{\partial x^2}+u\dot{W}$ on $[0, \infty)\times {\bf R}^d $ with $d\geq 1$ has a unique random field solution, where $W(t, x)$ is a fractional Brownian sheet on $[0, \infty)\times {\bf R}^d$ and formally $\dot W =\frac{\partial^{d+1}}{\partial t \partial x_1 \cdots \partial x_d} W(t, x)$. When the noise $W(t, x)$ is white in time, our condition is both necessary and sufficient when the initial dat…
In this work we prove an analogue, for partial differential equations on the space of probability measures, of the classical vanishing viscosity result known for equations on the Euclidean space. Our result allows in particular to show that the value function arising in various problems of classical mechanics and games can be obtained as the limiting case of second order PDEs. The method of proof builds on stochastic analysis arguments and allows for instance to prove a Freindlin-Wentzell large deviation theorem for McKean-Vlasov equations.
